Jeremiah - Chapter: 15

>
15:1Then spake the Lord vnto me: Thoughe Moses & Samuell stode before me, yet haue I no hearte to thys people. Driue them awaye, that they maye go out of my syght.
15:2And yf they say vnto the. Whyther shall we go? Then tell them: The lord gyueth you thys answere. Some vnto death, some the swearde, some to honger, some into captyuyte.
15:3For I will bryng foure plages vpon them, sayeth the Lorde. The swearde shall sleye them, the dogges shall teare them in peaces, the foules of the ayre, & beastes of the earth shall eate them vp, and destroye them.
15:4I wyll scatter them aboute also in all kyngdomes and landes to be plaged because of Manasseh the sonne of Hezekia kynge of Iuda, for the thynges that he dyd in Ierusalem.
15:5Who shall then haue pyte vpon the, O Ierusalem? Who shall be sory for the? Or who shall make intercession, to optayne peace for the?
15:6seynge thou goest fro me, & turnest backwarde, sayeth the Lorde? Therfore, I dyd stretch out myne hande agaynst the, to destroye the, & I haue bene sorye for the so longe that I am werye.
15:7I haue scatred them abrode wt the fanne on ouery syde of the land. I haue wasted my people & destroyed them. Yet they haue had no lust to turne from theyr awne wayes
15:8I haue made theyr wyddowes mo in nombre, then the sandes of the see. Upon the mothers of their chyldren dyd I brynge a destroyer in the none daye. Sodenly and vnawarres dyd I sende a feare vpon theyr cyties.
15:9She that hath borne seuen chyldren, hath noone, her herte is full of sorowe. The Sunne doth fayle her in the cleare daye, she is confounded and fayntie for very heuynesse. As for those that remayne, I wyll delyuer them vnto the swearde before theyr enemyes, sayth the Lorde.
15:10O mother, alas that euer thou dydest beare me, a brawler & rebuker of the whole lande: Thoughe I neuer lente ner receaued vpon vsury, yet all men speake euell vpon me.
15:11And the Lorde answered me: Uerely thy remnaunte shall haue welthe. Come not I to the, when thou art in trouble: and helpe the, when thyne enemy oppresseth the?
15:12Doth one yron hurte another or one metall that commeth from the North, another?
15:13As for thy richesse and treasure, I wyll geue them out into a praye, not for eny money, but because of all thy synnes, that thou hast done in all thy coastes.
15:14And I wyll brynge the with thyne enemyes into a land, that thou knowest not: for the fyre that is kyndled in my indignacyon, shall burne you vp.
15:15O Lord, thou knowest: therfore remembre me, & vyset me, delyuer me fro my persecuters. Take me not from this lyfe in the tyme of the longe pacyence, thou knowest, that for thy sake I suffer rebuke.
15:16When I had founde thy wordes, I dyd eate them vp gredely: they haue made my herte ioyfull & glad. For thy name was called vpon me, O Lorde God of Hostes.
15:17I dwell not amonge the scorners, nether is my delyte therin: but I dwell only in the feare of thy hand, for thou hast fylled me with bytternes.
15:18Shall my heuynes endure for euer? Are my plages then so greate, that they maye neuer be healed? Wilt thou be as one that is false & as a water, that falleth, and cannot continue?
15:19Upon these wordes, thus sayde the Lorde vnto me. If thou wilt turne agayne, I shall sett the in my seruice: and yf thou wilt take out the thynges that is precious from the vile, thou shalt be euen as myne awne mouth. They shall conuerte vnto the, but turne not thou vnto them:
15:20& so shall I make the a stronge brasen wall agaynst this people. They shall fight agaynst the, but they shall not preuayle. For I my selfe will be wt the, to helpe the, and deliuer the, sayeth the Lorde.
15:21And I wyll ryd the out of the handes of the wicked, and delyuer the out of the hande of tirauntes.

15:1And the Lord seide to me, Thouy Moises and Samuel stoden bifore me, my soule is not to this puple; caste thou hem out fro my face, and go thei out.
15:2That if thei seien to thee, Whidur schulen we go out? thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord seith these thingis, Thei that to deth, to deth, and thei that to swerd, to swerd, and thei that to hungur, to hungur, and thei that to caitiftee, to caitifte.
15:3Y schal visite on hem foure spices, seith the Lord; a swerd to sleeynge, and doggis for to reende, and volatilis of the eir, and beestis of the erthe to deuoure and to distrie.
15:4And Y schal yyue hem in to feruour to alle rewmes of erthe, for Manasses, the sone of Ezechie, king of Juda, on alle thingis whiche he dide in Jerusalem.
15:5For whi who schal haue merci on thee, Jerusalem, ethir who schal be sori for thee, ether who schal go to preie for thi pees?
15:6Thou hast forsake me, seith the Lord, thou hast go abac; and Y schal stretche forth myn hond on thee, and Y schal sle thee; Y trauelide preiyng.
15:7And Y schal scatere hem with a wyndewynge instrument in the yatis of erthe; Y killide, and loste my puple, and netheles thei turneden not ayen fro her weies.
15:8The widewis therof ben multiplied to me aboue the grauel of the see; and Y brouyte in to hem a distriere in myddai on the modir of a yonge man, Y sente drede sudeynli on citees.
15:9Sche was sijk that childide seuene, hir soule failide; the sunne yede doun to hir, whanne dai was yit. Sche was schent, and was aschamed; and Y schal yyue the residue therof in to swerd in the siyt of her enemyes, seith the Lord.
15:10Mi modir, wo to me; whi gendridist thou me a man of chidyng, a man of discord in al the lond? Y lente not, nether ony man lente to me; alle men cursen me, the Lord seith.
15:11No man bileue to me, if thi remenauntis be not in to good, if Y ranne not to thee in the tyme of turment, and in the tyme of tribulacioun and of anguysch, ayens the enemye.
15:12Whether yrun and metal schal be ioyned bi pees to irun fro the north?
15:13And Y schal yyue freli thi ritchessis and thi tresouris in to rauyschyng, for alle thi synnes, and in alle thin endis.
15:14And Y schal brynge thin enemyes fro the lond which thou knowist not; for fier is kyndlid in my strong veniaunce, and it schal brenne on you.
15:15Lord, thou knowist, haue thou mynde on me, and visite me, and delyuere me fro hem that pursuen me; nyle thou take me in thi pacience, knowe thou, that Y suffride schenschipe for thee.
15:16Thi wordis ben foundun, and Y eet tho; and thi word was maad to me in to ioye, and in to gladnesse of myn herte; for thi name, Lord God of oostis, is clepid to help on me.
15:17Y sat not in the counsel of pleieris, and Y hadde glorie for the face of thin hond; Y sat aloone, for thou fillidist me with bittirnesse.
15:18Whi is my sorewe maad euerlastinge, and my wounde dispeirid forsook to be curid? it is maad to me, as a leesyng of vnfeithful watris.
15:19For this thing the Lord seith these thingis, If thou turnest, Y schal turne thee, and thou schalt stonde bifore my face; and if thou departist preciouse thing fro vijl thing, thou schalt be as my mouth; thei schulen be turned to thee, and thou schalt not be turned to hem.
15:20And Y schal yyue thee in to a brasun wal and strong to this puple, and thei schulen fiyte ayens thee, and schulen not haue the victorie; for Y am with thee, to saue thee, and to delyuere thee, seith the Lord.
15:21And Y schal delyuere thee fro the hond of the worste men, and Y schal ayenbie thee fro the hond of stronge men.

15:1Then spake the LORDE vnto me, ad sayde: Though Moses and Samuel stode before me, yet haue I no herte to this people. Dryue them awaye, that they maye go out of my sight.
15:2And yf they saye vnto the: Whyther shal we go? The tell the: The LORDE geueth you this answere: Some vnto death, some to the swearde, some to honger, some in to captiuyte.
15:3For I will bringe foure plages vpon them, saieth the LORDE. The swearde shal stragle them, the dogges shal deuoure them, the foules of the ayre ad beestes of the earth shal eate them vp, and destroye them.
15:4I will scatre them aboute also in all kingdomes and londes to be plaged, because of Manasses the sonne of Ezechias kinge of Iuda, for the thinges that he dyd in Ierusalem.
15:5Who shal then haue pite vpon the, o Ierusalem? Who shal be sory for the? Or who shal make intercession, to opteyne peace for the?
15:6seinge thou goest fro me, ad turnest bacwarde, saieth the LORDE? Therfore I will stretch out myne honde agaynst the, to destroye the, and I will not be intreated.
15:7I will scatre the abrode with the fanne on euery side of the londe: I will waist my people and destroye them, for they haue had no lust to turne from their owne wayes.
15:8I will make their wyddowes mo in nombre, then the sondes of the see. Vpon ye mothers of their children, I shal bringe a destroyer in the noone daye. Sodenly and vnawarres, shal I sende a feare vpon their cities.
15:9She that hath borne vij. children, shal haue none, hir herte shalbe ful of sorowe. The Sonne shall fayle her in the cleare daye, when she shalbe confounded and faynte for very heuynesse. As for those yt remayne, I wil delyuer them vnto the swearde off their enemies, saieth the LORDE.
15:10O mother, alas that euer thou dydest beare me, an enemie and hated of the whole londe: Though I neuer lente ner receaued vpon vsury, yet euery man speake euell vpon me.
15:11And ye LORDE answered me: Lede not I the then vnto good? Come not I to the, when thou art in trouble: and helpe ye, when thine enemie oppresseth the?
15:12Doth one yron hurte another, or one metall that cometh from the north, another?
15:13As for youre riches and treasure, I wil geue them out in to a pray, not for eny money, but because of all youre synnes, that ye haue done i all youre coastes.
15:14And I wil brige you with youre enemies in to a londe, yt ye knowe not: for the fyre that is kyndled in my indignacion, shal burne you vp.
15:15O LORDE (sayde I then) thou knowest all thinges, therfore remembre me, ad viset me, delyuer me fro my persecuters: Receaue not my cause in yi loge wrath, yet thou knowest, that for thy sake I suffre rebuke.
15:16When I had founde thy wordes, I at them vp gredely: they haue made my hert ioyfull & glad. For I call vpon thy name, o LORDE God off hoostes.
15:17I dwell not amonge the scorners, nether is my delyte therin: but I dwell only in the feare of thy honde, for thou hast fylled me with bytternes.
15:18Shall my heuynes endure for euer? Are my plages then so greate, yt they maye neuer be healed? Wilt thou be as a water, that falleth, and can not contynue?
15:19Vpon these wordes, thus sayde the LORDE vnto me: Yf thou wilt turne agayne, I shal set the in my seruyce: and yf thou wilt take out the thinge that is precious from the vyle, thou shalt be euen as myne owne mouth. They shal conuerte vnto the, but turne not thou vnto the:
15:20and so shal I make the a stroge wall of stele agaynst this people. They shal fight agaynst the, but they shal not preuayle. For I myself will be with the, to helpe the, and delyuer the, saieth the LORDE.
15:21And I will ryd the out of the hondes of the wicked, and delyuer the out of the honde of Tirauntes.
