Jeremiah - Chapter: 33

>
33:1Moreouer, the word of the Lord came vnto Ieremiah the second time (while hee was yet shut vp in the court of the prison) saying;
33:2Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it, the Lord is his Name.
33:3Call vnto me, and I will answere thee, and shew thee great and mightie things, which thou knowest not.
33:4For thus sayth the Lord the God of Israel concerning the houses of this citie, and concerning the houses of the kings of Iudah, which are throwen downe by the mounts, and by the sword.
33:5They come to fight with the Caldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whome I haue slaine in mine anger, and in my fury, and for all whose wickednesse I haue hid my face from this citie.
33:6Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and wil reueale vnto them the abundance of peace, and trueth.
33:7And I will cause the captiuitie of Iudah, and the captiuitie of Israel to returne, and will build them as at the first.
33:8And I will clense them from all their iniquitie, whereby they haue sinned against mee: and I will pardon all their iniquities whereby they haue sinned, and whereby they haue transgressed against me.
33:9And it shall be to me a name of ioy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall heare all the good that I doe vnto them: and they shall feare and tremble for all the goodnesse, and for all the prosperitie that I procure vnto it.
33:10Thus saith the Lord; Againe there shall be heard in this place (which yee say shalbe desolate without man and without beast, euen in the cities of Iudah, and in the streetes of Ierusalem that are desolate without man and without inhabitant, & without beast.)
33:11The voyce of ioy and the voyce of gladnesse, the voyce of the bridegroome, and the voyce of the bride, the voyce of them that shall say; Praise the Lord of hostes, for the Lord is good, for his mercy endureth for euer, and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord; for I will cause to returne the captiuitie of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.
33:12Thus saith the Lord of hostes; Againe in this place which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof shalbe a habitation of shepheards causing their flockes to lie downe.
33:13In the cities of the mountaines, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the South, and in the land of Beniamin, and in the places about Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iudah, shall the flockes passe againe vnder the hands of him that telleth them, saith the Lord.
33:14Behold, the dayes come, saith the Lord, that I will performe that good thing which I haue promised vnto the house of Israel, and to the house of Iudah.
33:15In those dayes, and at that time will I cause the branch of righteousnesse to grow vp vnto Dauid, and he shall execute iudgement and righteousnesse in the land.
33:16In those dayes shall Iudah be saued, and Ierusalem shall dwell safely, and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousnesse.
33:17For thus saith the Lord; Dauid shall neuer want a man to sit vpon the throne of the house of Israel.
33:18Neither shall the priests the Leuites want a man before me to offer burnt offrings, and to kindle meate offrings, and to doe sacrifice continually.
33:19And the word of the Lord came vnto Ieremiah, saying,
33:20Thus saith the Lord; If you can breake my couenant of the day, and my couenant of the night, and that there should not be day, and night in their season:
33:21Then may also my couenant bee broken with Dauid my seruant, that he should not haue a sonne to reigne vpon his throne; and with the Leuites the priests my ministers.
33:22As the hoste of heauen cannot be numbred, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seede of Dauid my seruant, and the Leuites that minister vnto me.
33:23Moreouer, the word of the Lord came to Ieremiah, saying;
33:24Considerest thou not what this people haue spoken, saying; The two families, which the Lord hath chosen, he hath euen cast them off? thus they haue dispised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
33:25Thus saith the Lord; If my couenant be not with day and night, and if I haue not appointed the ordinances of heauen and earth:
33:26Then will I cast away the seede of Iacob and Dauid my seruant, so that I will not take any of his seede to be rulers ouer the seede of Abraham, Isaac and Iacob: for I will cause their captiuitie to returne, and haue mercie on them.

33:1Moreover, the worde of the Lord came vnto Ieremiah the second time (while he was yet shut vp in the court of prison) saying,
33:2Thus sayth the Lord, the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, and established it, the Lord is his Name.
33:3Call vnto me, and I will answere thee, and shewe thee great and mightie things, which thou knowest not.
33:4For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, concerning the houses of this citie, and concerning the houses of the Kings of Iudah, which are destroyed by the mounts, and by the sword,
33:5They come to fight with the Caldeans, but it is to fill themselues with the dead bodies of men, whome I haue slaine in mine anger and in my wrath: for I haue hid my face from this citie, because of all their wickednes.
33:6Behold, I will giue it health and amendment: for I wil cure them, and will reueile vnto them the abundance of peace, and trueth.
33:7And I wil cause the captiuitie of Iudah and the captiuitie of Israel to returne, and will build them as at the first.
33:8And I wil clense them from all their iniquitie, whereby they haue sinned against me: yea, I wil pardon all their iniquities, whereby they haue sinned against me, and whereby they haue rebelled against me.
33:9And it shalbe to me a name, a ioy, a praise, and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall heare all ye good that I doe vnto them: and they shall feare and tremble for all the goodnes, and for all the wealth, that I shew vnto this citie.
33:10Thus sayth the Lord, Againe there shalbe heard in this place (which ye say shalbe desolate, without man, and without beast, euen in the cities of Iudah, and in the streetes of Ierusalem, that are desolate without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast)
33:11The voyce of ioy and the voyce of gladnes, the voyce of the bridegrome, and the voyce of the bride, the voyce of them that shall say, Prayse the Lord of hostes, because the Lord is good: for his mercy endureth for euer, and of them that offer the sacrifice of prayse in the House of the Lord, for I will cause to returne the captiuitie of the land, as at the first, sayth the Lord.
33:12Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Againe in this place, which is desolate, without man, and without beast, and in all the cities thereof there shall be dwelling for shepheards to rest their flockes.
33:13In the cities of the mountaines, in the cities in the plaine, and in the cities of the South, and in the land of Beniamin, and about Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iudah shall the sheepe passe againe, vnder the hand of him that telleth them, sayth the Lord.
33:14Beholde, the dayes come, sayth the Lord, that I wil performe that good thing, which I haue promised vnto the house of Israel, and to the house of Iudah.
33:15In those dayes and at that time, wil I cause the branch of righteousnesse to growe vp vnto Dauid, and he shall execute iudgement, and righteousnes in the land.
33:16In those dayes shall Iudah be saued, and Ierusalem shall dwell safely, and hee that shall call her, is the Lord our righteousnesse.
33:17For thus sayth the Lord, Dauid shall neuer want a man to sit vpon the throne of the house of Israel.
33:18Neither shall the Priests and Leuites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to offer meat offerings, and to doe sacrifice continually.
33:19And the worde of the Lord came vnto Ieremiah, saying,
33:20Thus sayth the Lord, If you can breake my couenant of the day, and my couenant of the night, that there should not be day, and night in their season,
33:21Then may my couenant be broken with Dauid my seruant, that he should not haue a sonne to reigne vpon his throne, and with the Leuites, and Priests my ministers.
33:22As the army of heauen can not be nombred, neither the sand of the sea measured: so wil I multiplie the seede of Dauid my seruant, and the Leuites, that minister vnto me.
33:23Moreouer, the worde of the Lord came to Ieremiah, saying,
33:24Considerest thou not what this people haue spoken, saying, The two families, which the Lord hath chosen, hee hath euen cast them off? thus they haue despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
33:25Thus sayth the Lord, If my couenant be not with day and night, and if I haue not appointed the order of heauen and earth,
33:26Then will I cast away the seede of Iaakob and Dauid my seruant, and not take of his seede to be rulers ouer the seede of Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob: for I wil cause their captiuitie to returne, and haue compassion on them.

33:1Moreouer, the worde of the Lorde came vnto Ieremy on thys maner, when he was yet bound in the court of the preson.
33:2Thus sayth the Lorde, which fulfilleth the thing that he speaketh: the Lorde which perfourmeth the thing that he taketh in hand: euen he, whose name is the Lorde:
33:3crye vnto me, & I wyll answere, and shewe the great and hye thinges, which were vnknowen vnto the.
33:4Thus (I saye) spake the Lorde God of Israel, concerninge the houses of thys citye, and the houses of the kinges of Iuda, that they are broken thorowe the ordinaunce and the sweard.
33:5Because the enhabitours of this citie haue come to fight against the Chaldees: and they are fylled with the deed karcases of men, whom I haue sleyne in my wrath and displeasure: when I turned my face from thys citye, because of all her wickednes.
33:6Behold, sayth the Lord, I wyll repayre & heale their woundes, and make them whole: I will open them the large treasure of peace and trueth.
33:7And I will returne the captiuytie of Iuda and Israel: and wyll set them vp agayne as they were afore.
33:8From all mysdedes, wherin they haue offended agenst me, I will clense them. And all their blasphemyes which they haue done agaynst me, when they regarded me not, I will forgeue them.
33:9And thys shall get me a name, a prayse, & honoure among all the people of the earth, which shall heare all the good, that I wyll shewe vnto them: yee, they shall be afrayed and astonyed at all the good dedes and benefytes that I wyll do for them.
33:10Moreouer, thus sayth the Lorde: In this place, wherof ye saye that it shalbe a wyldernes, wherin nether people ner catell shall dwell: in like maner in the cityes of Iuda & without Ierusalem (which also shalbe so voyde, that nether people ner catell shall dwell there)
33:11shall the voyce of gladnes be hearde agayne, the voyce of the brydegrome & of the bryde, the voyce of them that shall singe: Prayse the Lorde of hoostes, for he is louynge and hys mercy endureth for euer: and the voyce of them that shall offer vp giftes in the house of the Lorde. For I will restore the captiuitie of this lande, as it was afore, sayth the Lorde.
33:12Thus sayeth the Lorde of hoostes: It shall come yet therto, that in thys lande, which is voyde from men and catell, and in all the cityes of the lande, there shalbe set vp shepherdes cotages:
33:13in the cityes vpon the mountaynes: and in the cyties that lye vpon the playne, and in the cyties of the southe. In the lande of BenIamin, in the feldes of Ierusalem, and in the cyties of Iuda shall the shepe be nombred agayne, vnder the hande of hym, that telleth them, sayeth the Lord
33:14Beholde, the tyme commeth, sayeth the Lorde, that I will perfourme that good thynge, which I haue promised vnto the house of Israel and to the house of Iuda.
33:15In those dayes and at the same tyme, I wyll bring forth vnto Dauid, the braunche of ryghtuousnes, & he shall do equytie & righteousnesse in the lande.
33:16In those dayes shall Iuda be helped and Ierusalem shall dwell safe, and he that shall call her is euen God oure ryghteousnesse.
33:17For thus the Lorde promyseth. Dauid shall neuer want one, to syt vpon the throne of the house of Israel:
33:18nether shall the prestes and Leuites want one to offre allwaye before me burntofferinges, to kyndle the meatofferynges, and to prepare the sacrifyces.
33:19And the worde of the Lord came vnto Ieremy after this maner.
33:20Thus sayeth the Lord: maye the couenaunt which I haue made wt daye and nyght be broken, that there shulde not be daye and nyght in due season?
33:21Then maye my couenaunt also be broken, which I made wt Dauid my seruaunte, and so he not to haue a sonne to reygne in hys throne. so shall also the prestes & Leuites neuer fayle, but serue me.
33:22For lyke as the starres of heauen maye not be nombred, nether the sande of the see measured: so wyll I multiplye the sede of Dauid my seruaunt, & the Leuites my ministers.
33:23Moreouer, the worde of the Lorde came to Ieremy, saying:
33:24Consydrest thou not what this people speaketh? Two kynreddes (saye they) had the Lorde chosen, & those same two hath he cast awaye. For so they haue despised my people & they reputed them as though they were no people,
33:25Therfore thus saieth the Lorde: If I haue made no couenaunt with daye & nyght, & geuen no statute vnto heauen & earth:
33:26then will I also cast awaye the sede of Iacob & Dauid my seruaunt: so that I will take no prince out of his sede, to rule the posteritie of Abraham, Isaac & Iacob. But yet I wil turne agayne their captiuitie, & be mercyfull vnto them.
