Ezekiel - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
3:2So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
3:3And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
3:4And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
3:5For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
3:6Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
3:7But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
3:8Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
3:9As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
3:10Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
3:11And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.
3:12Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.
3:13I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.
3:14So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
3:15Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
3:16And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
3:17Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
3:18When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
3:19Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
3:20Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
3:21Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
3:22And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.
3:23Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
3:24Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
3:25But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
3:26And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.
3:27But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

3:1Moreover he saide vnto me, Sonne of man, eate that thou findest: eate this roule, and goe, and speake vnto the house of Israel.
3:2So I opened my mouth, and he gaue mee this roule to eate.
3:3And he said vnto me, Sonne of man, cause thy belly to eate, and fill thy bowels with this roule that I giue thee. Then did I eate it, and it was in my mouth as sweete as honie.
3:4And he said vnto me, Sonne of man, goe, and enter into the house of Israel, and declare them my wordes.
3:5For thou art not sent to a people of an vnknowen tongue, or of an hard language, but to the house of Israel,
3:6Not to many people of an vnknowen tongue, or of an harde language, whose wordes thou canst not vnderstand: yet if I should sende thee to them, they would obey thee.
3:7But the house of Israel will not obey thee: for they will not obey me: yea, all the house of Israel are impudent and stiffe hearted.
3:8Beholde, I haue made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead harde against their foreheads.
3:9I haue made thy forehead as the adamant, and harder then the flint: feare them not therefore, neither be afraid at their lookes: for they are a rebellious house.
3:10He said moreouer vnto me, Sonne of man, receiue in thine heart al my words that I speake vnto thee, and heare them with thine eares,
3:11And goe and enter to them that are led away captiues vnto the children of thy people, and speake vnto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God: but surely they will not heare, neither will they in deede cease.
3:12Then the spirite tooke me vp, and I heard behinde me a noise of a great russhing, saying, Blessed be ye glorie of the Lord out of his place.
3:13I heard also the noyse of the wings of the beasts, that touched one another, and the ratling of the wheeles that were by them, euen a noyse of a great russhing.
3:14So the spirit lift me vp, and tooke me away and I went in bitternesse, and indignation of my spirite, but the hand of the Lord was strong vpon me.
3:15Then I came to them that were led away captiues to Tel-abib, that dwelt by the riuer Chebar, and I sate where they sate, and remained there astonished among them seuen dayes.
3:16And at the ende of seuen dayes, the worde of the Lord came againe vnto me, saying,
3:17Sonne of man, I haue made thee a watchman vnto the house of Israel: therefore heare the worde at my mouth, and giue them warning from me.
3:18When I shall say vnto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die, and thou giuest not him warning, nor speakest to admonish the wicked of his wicked way, that he may liue, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquitie: but his blood will I require at thine hande.
3:19Yet if thou warne the wicked, and he turne not from his wickednesse, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquitie, but thou hast deliuered thy soule.
3:20Likewise if a righteous man turne from his righteousnesse, and commit iniquitie, I will lay a stumbling blocke before him, and he shall die, because thou hast not giuen him warning: he shall die in his sinne, and his righteous deedes, which he hath done, shall not be remembred: but his blood will I require at thine hand.
3:21Neuerthelesse, if thou admonish that righteous man, that the righteous sinne not, and that he doeth not sinne, he shall liue because he is admonished: also thou hast deliuered thy soule.
3:22And the hande of the Lord was there vpon me, and he said vnto me, Arise, and goe into the fielde, and I will there talke with thee.
3:23So when I had risen vp, and gone foorth into the fielde, beholde, the glorie of the Lord stoode there, as the glorie which I sawe by the riuer Chebar, and I fell downe vpon my face.
3:24Then the Spirit entred into me, which set me vp vpon my feete, and spake vnto me, and said to me, Come, and shut thy selfe within thine house.
3:25But thou, O sonne of man, beholde, they shall put bandes vpon thee, and shall binde thee with them, and thou shalt not goe out among them.
3:26And I will make thy tongue cleaue to the roofe of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dume, and shalt not be to them as a man that rebuketh: for they are a rebellious house.
3:27But when I shall haue spoken vnto thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord God, He that heareth, let him heare, and he that leaueth off, let him leaue: for they are a rebellious house.

3:1After thys, sayde he vnto me: Thou sonne of man, eate that, whatsoeuer it be: yee eate that booke, and go thy waye, and speake vnto the chyldren of Israel:
3:2So I opened my mouth, and he gaue me the booke for to eate,
3:3and sayde vnto me. Thou sonne of man, thy bely shall eate, and thy bowels shalbe fylled with the booke, that I geue the. Then dyd I eate the boke, and it was in my mouth sweter then hony.
3:4And he sayde vnto me: thou sonne of man, get the soone vnto the house of Israel, and shewe them the wordes, that I commaunde th
3:5for I sende the not to the people that hath a straunge, vnknowne, or hard speache, but vnto the house of Israel.
3:6Not to many nacyons, which haue dyuerse speaches and harde languages, whose wordes thou vnderstandest not Neuerthelesse, yf I sent the to those people, they wolde folowe the.
3:7But the house of Israel wyll not folowe the, for they wyll not folowe me: yee, all the house of Israel haue stiffe forheades & harde hertes.
3:8Beholde therfore, I will make thy face preuayle agaynst their faces, and harden thy foreheade agaynst their foreheades:
3:9so that thy foreheade shalbe harder then an Adamant or flynt stone: that thou mayest feare them the lesse, and be lesse afrayed of them, for they are a frowarde housholde.
3:10He sayde moreouer vnto me: thou sonne of man, take diligent hede with thyne eares, to the wordes that I speake vnto the fasten them in thyne herte:
3:11and go to the presoners of thy people, speake vnto them, and saye on thys maner: Thus the Lorde God hath spoken: whether ye heare, or heare not.
3:12With that the sprete toke me vp. And I hearde the noyse of a greate russhynge and remouynge of the most blessed glory of the Lorde out of hys place.
3:13I hearde also the noyse of the wynges of the beastes, that russhed one agaynst another, yee, and the ratlyng of the wheles, that were by them, whych rushynge and noyse was very greate.
3:14Nowe when the sprete toke me vp, and caryed me awaye, I wente wyth an heuy & a sorowfull mynde, but the hande of the Lorde comforted me ryght soone.
3:15And so in the begynnynge of the moneth Abib. I came to the presoners, that dwelt by the water of Cobar, & remayned in that place, where they were: And so contynued I amonge them seuen dayes, beynge very sory.
3:16And when the seuen dayes were expired, the Lorde sayde vnto me:
3:17Thou sonne of man, I haue made the a watchman vnto the house of Israell: therfore take good hede to the wordes of my mouthe, & geue them warnynge at my commaundement.
3:18If I saye vnto the, concernynge the vngodly man, that (wythout doute) he must dye, and thou geuest hym not warnynge, ner speakest vnto hym, that he may turne from hys euell waye, and so to lyue: Then shall the same vngodly man dye in his awne vnryghteousnes: but hys bloude wyll I requyre of thyne hand.
3:19Neuertheles, yf thou geue warnynge vnto the wycked, and he yet forsake not his vngodlynesse: then shall he dye in his awne wyckednesse, but thou hast discharged thy soule.
3:20Nowe yf a ryghteous man go from his ryghteousnesse, and do the thynge that is euell: I will laye a stomblynge blocke before him, and he shall dye because thou hast not geuen hym warnyng: yee, dye shall he in hys awne synne, so that the vertue, whych he dyd before, shall not be thought vpon: but his bloude wyll I requyre of thyne hande.
3:21Neuerthelesse, yf thou exhortest the ryghteous, that he synne not, & so the ryghteous do not synne: then shall he lyue, because he hath receaued thy warnynge, and thou hast discharged thy soule.
3:22And there came the hande of the Lorde vpon me, and he sayd vnto me: Stande vp, and go into the felde, that I may there talke wyth the.
3:23So when I had rysen vp, and gone forth into the felde: Beholde, the glory of the Lord stode there, lyke as I sawe it afore, by the water of Cobar. Then fell I downe vpon my face,
3:24& the sprete came in to me, whych set me vp vpon my fete, & sayd thus vnto me: Go thy waye, and sparre thy self in thyne house.
3:25Beholde, (O thou sonne of man) there shall chaynes be brought for the, to bynde the wythall, so that thou shalt not escape out of them.
3:26And I wyll make thy tunge cleue so to the rofe of thy mouth, that thou shalt be domme, & not be as a chyder wyth them: for it is an obstinate housholde.
3:27But when I speake vnto the, then open thy mouth, and saye: Thus sayeth the Lorde God: who so heareth, let hym heare: who so wyll not let him leaue, for it is an obstynate housholde.
