Ezekiel - Chapter: 8

>
8:1And it came to passe in the sixt yeere, in the sixt moneth, in the fift day of the month, as I sate in mine house, and the elders of Iudah sate before me; that the hand of the Lord God fell there vpon me.
8:2Then I beheld, and loe, a likenesse as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loines euen downeward, fire: and from his loines euen vpward, as the appearance of brightnesse, as the colour of amber.
8:3And he put forth the forme of an hand, and tooke me by a locke of mine head, and the spirit lift me vp betweene the earth and the heauen, and brought me in the visions of God to Ierusalem, to the doore of the inner gate, that looketh toward the North, where was the seate of the image of ielousie, which prouoketh to ielousie.
8:4And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there according to the vision that I saw in the plaine.
8:5Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, lift vp thine eyes now the way towards the North: so I lift vp mine eyes the way toward the North, and behold, Northward at the gate of the altar, this image of ielousie in the entry.
8:6He said furthermore vnto me, Sonne of man, seest thou what they doe? euen the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth heere, that I should goe farre off from my sanctuarie? but turne thee yet againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
8:7And hee brought me to the doore of the court, and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
8:8Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, digge now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a doore.
8:9And he said vnto me, Goe in, and behold the wicked abominations that they doe heere.
8:10So I went in and saw, and behold euery forme of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel purtrayed vpon the wall round about.
8:11And there stood before them seuentie men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the middest of them stood Iaazaniah the sonne of Shaphan, with euery man his censer in his hand, and a thicke cloud of incense went vp.
8:12Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, hast thou seene what the ancients of the house of Israel doe in the darke, euery man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The Lord seeth vs not, the Lord hath forsaken the earth.
8:13Hee said also vnto me, Turne thee yet againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they doe.
8:14Then he brought me to the doore of the gate of the Lords house which was towards the North, and behold, there sate women weeping for Tammuz.
8:15Then said hee vnto me, Hast thou seene this, O sonne of man? Turne thee yet againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations then these.
8:16And he brought me into the inner court of the Lords house, and behold at the doore of the Temple of the Lord, betweene the porch and the altar, were about fiue and twentie men, with their backes toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces towards the East, and they worshipped the sunne towards the East.
8:17Then he said vnto me, Hast thou seene this, O sonne of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Iudah, that they commit the abominations, which they commit heere? for they haue filled the land with violence, and haue returned to prouoke me to anger: and loe, they put the branch to their nose.
8:18Therefore will I also deale in furie: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I haue pitie: and though they crie in mine eares with a loud voyce, yet will I not heare them.

8:1And in the sixt yere, in the sixt moneth, and in the fift day of the moneth, as I sate in mine house, and the Elders of Iudah sate before me, the hand of the Lord God fell there vpon me.
8:2Then I beheld, and lo, there was a likenesse, as the appearance of fire, to looke to, from his loynes downeward, and from his loynes vpward, as the appearance of brightnes, and like vnto amber.
8:3And he stretched out the likenes of an had, and tooke me by an hearie locke of mine head, and the Spirit lift me vp betweene the earth, and the heauen, and brought mee by a Diuine vision to Ierusalem, into the entry of ye inner gate that lieth toward the North, where remained the idole of indignation, which prouoked indignation.
8:4And beholde, the glorie of the God of Israel was there according to the vision, that I saw in the fielde.
8:5Then saide he vnto mee, Sonne of man, lift vp thine eyes nowe towarde the North. So I lift vp mine eyes towarde the North, and beholde, Northward, at the gate of the altar, this idole of indignation was in the entrie.
8:6He said furthermore vnto me, Sonne of man, seest thou not what they doe? euen the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here to cause me to depart from my Sanctuarie? but yet turne thee and thou shalt see greater abominations.
8:7And he caused me to enter at the gate of the court: and when I looked, beholde, an hole was in the wall.
8:8Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, digge nowe in the wall. And when I had digged in the wall, beholde, there was a doore.
8:9And he said vnto mee, Go in, and beholde the wicked abominations that they doe here.
8:10So I went in, and sawe, and beholde, there was euery similitude of creeping thinges and abominable beasts and all the idoles of the house of Israel painted vpon the wall round about.
8:11And there stoode before them seuentie men of the Ancients of the house of Israel, and in the middes of them stoode Iaazaniah, ye sonne of Shaphan, with euerie man his censour in his hand, and the vapour of the incense went vp like a cloude.
8:12Then saide hee vnto mee, Sonne of man, hast thou seene what the Ancients of the house of Israel do in the darke, euery one in the chamber of his imagerie? for they say, The Lord seeth vs not, the Lord hath forsaken the earth.
8:13Againe he saide also vnto me, Turne thee againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they doe.
8:14And he caused me to enter into the entrie of the gate of the Lords house, which was toward the North: and beholde there sate women mourning for Tammuz.
8:15Then saide hee vnto me, Hast thou seene this, O sonne of man? Turne thee againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations then these.
8:16And he caused me to enter into the inner court of the Lordes house, and beholde, at the doore of the Temple of the Lord, betweene the porche and the altar were about fiue and twentie men with their backs toward the Temple of the Lord, and their faces towarde the East, and they worshipped the sunne, towarde the East.
8:17The he said vnto me, Hast thou seene this, O sonne of man? Is it a small thing to the house of Iudah to commit these abominations which they do here? for they haue filled the land with crueltie, and haue returned to prouoke mee: and loe, they haue cast out stinke before their noses.
8:18Therefore will I also execute my wrath: mine eye shall not spare them, neither will I haue pitie, and though they crie in mine eares with a loude voyce, yet will I not heare them.

8:1It happened, that in the syxte yeare the fyfth daye of the syxte moneth. I sat in my house, and the Lordes of the councell of Iuda with me: and the hande of the Lorde God fell euen there vpon me.
8:2And as I loked vp, I sawe as it were a licknesse of fyre from hys loynes downe warde and from hys loynes vpwarde it shyned maruelous cleare & lyke an angell to loke vpon.
8:3This symilitude stretched out an hande, and toke me by the hearrye lockes of my head, and the sprete lyft me vp betwyxte heauen and earth: and brought me in a visyon to Ierusalem, into the entrie of the inner porte that lyeth towarde the north: there stode an ymage, with whom he that hath all thynges in hys power, was very wroth.
8:4And beholde, the glory of the God of Israel was in the same place: euen as I had sene it afore in the felde.
8:5And he sayde vnto me: Thou sonne of man, O lyft vp thyne eyes, and loke towarde the north. Then lyft I vp myne eyes towarde the north, & beholde: besyde the porte northwarde, there was an aulter made vnto the ymage of prouocacyon in the very entryng in.
8:6And he sayde furthermore vnto me: Thou sonne of man, seest thou what these do? Seest thou the greate abhominacyons that the house of Israel commytte in thys place? to dryue me from my sanctuary? But turne the aboute, and thou shalt se yet greater abhominacyons.
8:7And wyth that brought he me to the courte gate: & when I loked, beholde, there was an hole in the wall.
8:8Then sayde he vnto me: Thou sonne of man, dygge thorow the wall. And when I dygged thorow the wall, beholde, there was a dore.
8:9And he sayde vnto me: Go thy waye in, and loke what wycked abhominacyons they do here.
8:10So I wente in, and sawe: and beholde, there were all maner ymages of wormes & beastes, all Idoles and abhominacyons of the house of Israel paynted euery one rounde about the wall.
8:11Ther stode also before the ymages .lxx. Lordes of the councell of the house of Israel: and in the myddest of them stode Iaazanih the sonne of Saphan: And euery one of them had a censoure in hys hande, and out of the incense, there went a smoke, as it had bene a cloude.
8:12Then sayde he vnto me. Thou sonne of man, hast thou sene what the Senatoures of the house of Israel do secretly, euery one in hys chambre? For they saye: Tush, the Lorde seeth vs not, the Lorde regardeth not the worlde.
8:13And he sayd vnto me: Turne the yet agayne, and thou shalt se yet greater abhominacyons that they do.
8:14And wyth that he brought me to the dore of the porte of the Lordes house, towarde the north. And beholde, there sat women mournynge for Thamus.
8:15Then sayde he vnto me: hast thou sene thys, thou sonne of man? Turne the aboute, and thou shalt se yet greater abhominacyons then thes are.
8:16And so he brought me into the inwarde court of the Lordes house: and beholde at the porte of the Lordes house, betwyxte the fore entrye and the aulter, there were fyue and twenty men, that turned their backes vpon the temple of the Lorde, and theyr faces towarde the easte, and these worshypped the sonne.
8:17And he sayde vnto me: hast thou sene this, thou sonne of man? Thynketh the house of Iuda, that it is but a trifle, to do these abhominacyons here? Shulde they fyll the lande full of wyckednesse, and vndertake to prouoke me vnto anger? Yee, and purposely to cast vp theyr noses vpon me?
8:18Therfore will I also do some thynge in my wrathfull dyspleasure, so that myne eye shall not ouerse them, nether wyll I spare them. Yee, and though they crye in myne eares wyth loude voyce, yet wyll I not heare them.
