Ezekiel - Chapter: 9

>
9:1Hee cryed also in mine eares, with a loude voyce, saying; Cause them that hauecharge ouer the citie, to draw neere, euen euery man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
9:2And behold, sixe men came from the way of the higher gate, which lyeth toward the North, and euery man a slaughter weapon in his hand: and one man among them was clothed with linnen, with a writers inkehorne by his side, and they went in and stood beside the brasen altar.
9:3And the glory of the God of Israel was gone vp from the Cherub whereupon hee was, to the threshold of the house, and he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers inkehorne by his side.
9:4And the Lord sayd vnto him, Goe through the middest of the citie, through the middest of Ierusalem, and set a marke vpon the foreheads of the men that sigh, and that cry for all the abominations, that bee done in the middest thereof.
9:5And to the others he said in mine hearing, Goe ye after him through the citie, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither haue ye pitie.
9:6Slay vtterly olde and yong; both maides, and litle children, and women: but come not neere any man vpon whom is the marke, and begin at my sanctuary: then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
9:7And hee sayd vnto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slaine, goe ye forth: and they went forth and slew in the citie.
9:8And it came to passe while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell vpon my face, and cryed and said, Ah, Lord God, wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel, in thy powring out of thy fury vpon Ierusalem?
9:9Then sayd he vnto me; The iniquity of the house of Israel and Iudah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the citie full of peruersenesse: for they say; The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not.
9:10And as for me also, mine eye shal not spare, neither will I haue pitie, but I will recompence their way vpon their head.
9:11And behold, the man clothed with linnen, which had the inkehorne by his side, reported the matter, saying; I haue done as thou hast commanded me.

9:1He cryed also with a loude voyce in mine eares, saying, The visitations of the citie draw neere, and euery man hath a weapon in his hande to destroy it.
9:2And beholde, sixe men came by the way of the hie gate, which lieth towarde the North, and euery man a weapon in his hande to destroy it: and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writers ynkhorne by his side, and they went in and stoode beside the brasen altar.
9:3And the glorie of the God of Israel was gone vp from ye Cherub, whereupon he was and stoode on the doore of the house, and he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers ynkhorne by his side.
9:4And the Lord said vnto him, Goe through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ierusalem and set a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and cry for all the abominations that be done in the middes thereof.
9:5And to the other he said, that I might heare, Goe ye after him through the citie, and smite: let your eye spare none, neither haue pitie.
9:6Destroy vtterly the old, and the yong, and the maides, and the children, and the women, but touch no man, vpon whome is the marke, and begin at my Sanctuarie. Then they began at the Ancient men, which were before the house.
9:7And he sayde vnto them, Defile the house, and fill the courtes with the slaine, then goe foorth: and they went out, and slewe them in the citie.
9:8Nowe when they had slaine them, and I had escaped, I fell downe vpon my face, and cryed, saying, Ah Lord God, wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel, in powring out thy wrath vpon Ierusalem?
9:9Then saide he vnto me, The iniquitie of the house of Israel, and Iudah is exceeding great, so that the lande is full of blood, and the citie full of corrupt iudgement: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth vs not.
9:10As touching me also, mine eye shall not spare them, neither will I haue pitie, but will recompence their wayes vpon their heades.
9:11And beholde, the man clothed with linen which had the ynkhorne by his side, made report, and saide, Lord, I haue done as thou hast commanded me.

9:1He cryed also with a loude voyce in myne eares, sayinge: Come, here ye rulers of the cyte, euery man wyth his weapened hande to the slaughter.
9:2Then came there syxe men out of the strete of the vpper porte towarde the north, and euery man a weapen in hys hande to the slaughter. There was one amongest them, that had on hym a lynen rayment, & a wryters ynckhorne by hys syde. These wente in, & stode besyde the brasen aulter:
9:3for the glory of the Lorde was gone awaye from the Cherub whych was vpon him, & was come downe to the thresholde of the house, and he called the man that had the lynen rayment vpon hym, and the wryters ynckhorne by his syde,
9:4and the Lorde sayde vnto hym: Go thy waye thorowe the cyte of Ierusalem, and set a marcke vpon the foreheades of them, that mourne and are sory for all the abhominacions, that be done therin.
9:5And to the other, he sayde that I myght heare: Go ye after hym thorowe the cytie, slaye, ouerse none, spare none:
9:6kyll and destroye both olde men and yonge, maydens, chyldren, and wyues. But as for those, that haue the marcke vpon them: se that ye touch them not, and begynne at my Sanctuary. Then they beganne at the elders, whych were in the temple,
9:7for he had sayde vnto them: When ye haue defyled the temple, and fylled the courte wyth the slayne, then go your waye forth. So they wente out, & slewe downe thorowe the citie.
9:8Nowe when they had done the slaughter, & I yet escaped: I fell downe vpon my face, & cryed, sayinge: O Lorde, wylt thou then destroye all the resydue of Israel, in thy sore displeasure, that thou hast poured vpon Ierusalem?
9:9Then sayde he vnto me: The wyckednesse of the house of Israel and Iuda is very greate: so that the lande is full of bloude, and the citie full of vnfaithfulnesse: For they saye: Tush the Lorde regardeth not the earth, he seeth vs not.
9:10Therfore wyll I vpon them, myne eye shall not ouerse them, nether wyll I spare them, but wyll recompense theyr wyckednesse vpon theyr heades.
9:11And beholde, the man that had the lynen rayment vpon hym, and the wryters ynckhorne by hys syde: tolde all the matter howe it happened, and sayde: Lorde as thou hast commaunded me, so haue I done.
