38:1And the worde of the Lord came vnto me, sayinge.
38:2Thou sonne of man, turne thy face towarde Gog the lande of Magog which is the chefe prince at Mesech and Tubal: prophecy agaynst hym,
38:3& saye. Thus sayeth the Lord God. O Gog thou chefe prince of Mesech and Tubal: beholde, I will vpon the,
38:4& will turne the aboute and put a bytt in thy chawes: I will bringe the forth and all thine hoost, both horse and horsmen, which be all weapened of the best fassion: a great people, that handle altogether speares, shildes, & swerdes:
38:5the Perses, Morians and with them the Libians, which all beare shildes and helmettes:
38:6Gomer and all his hoostes: the house of Thogorma out of the north quarters, and all his hoostes, yee, and moch people with the.
38:7Therfore prepare the, set thy selfe in araye with all thy people, that are come vnto the by heapes, and be thou their defence.
38:8After many dayes thou shalt be visited, and in the latter yeares thou shalt come into the lande that hath bene destroyed with the swearde, & now is replenished agayne with diuerse people vpon the mountaines of Israel, which haue longe lyen waste. Yee, they be brought out of the nacions, and dwell all safe.
38:9Thou shalt come vp like a stormy wether, to couer the lande, & as it were a darck cloude, thou with all thine hostes, and a greate multitude of people with the.
38:10Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lord God: At the same tyme shal many thinges come into thy mynde, so that thou shalt ymagyn myschefe,
38:11and saye: I wyll vp to yonder playne lande, seinge they syt at ease, & dwell so safely (for they dwell all without any walles they haue nether barres nor dores)
38:12to spoyle them, to robbe them, to laye hande vpon their so well inhabited wyldernesses: against that people, that is gathered together from amonge the Heathen, which haue gotten catell and good, and dwell in the middest of the lande.
38:13Then shall Saba, and Dedan, and the marchauntes of Tharsis with all their worthies saye vnto the: Art thou come to robbe? Hast thou gathered thy people together, because thou wilt spoyle? to take syluer and golde: to cary awaye catell and good, and to haue a greate praye?
38:14Therfore, O thou sonne of man, thou shalt prophecie, and saye vnto God. Thus saieth the Lord God. In that daye thou shalt knowe that my people of Israel dwelleth safe:
38:15and shalt come from thy place out of the north partes, thou & moch people with the which ryde vpon horses, whereof there is a greate multitude and an innumerable sorte.
38:16Yee, thou shalt come vpon my people of Israell, as a cloude to couer the lande. Thys shall come to passe in the latter dayes: I will bringe the vp into my lande, that the heathen maye knowe me, when I get me honoure vpon the (O Gog) before their eyes.
38:17Thus sayeth the Lorde God: Thou art he, of whom I haue spoken afore tyme by my seruauntes the prophetes of Israel, which prophecied in those dayes and yeares, that I shuld bringe the vpon them.
38:18At the same tyme, when Gog commeth vp into the land of Israel (saieth the Lord God) shal my indignacion go forth in my wrath.
38:19For in my gelousy and hote displeasure I haue deuysed that there shalbe a greate trouble in the lande of Israell at that tyme.
38:20The very fishes in the see, the foules of the ayre, the beastes of the felde, and all the men that are vpon the earth, shall tremble for feare of me. The hilles also shalbe turned vp side downe, the stayres of stone shal fall, and all walles shal syncke to the grounde.
38:21I will cal for a swearde vpon them in all my mountaines sayeth the Lorde God: so that euery mans swearde shall be vpon another.
38:22With pestylence and bloude will I punishe him: stormy rayne and hayle stones, fyre and brimstome will I cause to rayne vpon him and all his heape, yee, and vpon all that greate people that is with hym.
38:23Thus will I be magnifyed, honoured, & knowne amonge the Heathen: that they maye be sure, howe that I am the Lorde.

 

38:1And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
38:2and he seide, Thou, sone of man, Sette thi face ayens Gog, and ayens the lond of Magog, the prince of the heed of Mosoch and of Tubal; and profesie thou of hym.
38:3And thou schalt seie to hym, The Lord God seith these thingis, A! Gog, lo! Y to thee, prince of the heed of Mosoch and of Tubal;
38:4and Y schal lede thee aboute, and Y schal sette a bridil in thi chekis, and Y schal leede out thee, and al thin oost, horsis, and horsmen, alle clothid with haburiouns, a greet multitude of men, takynge spere, and scheeld, and swerd.
38:5Perseis, Ethiopiens, and Libiens with hem, alle ben araied with scheeldis and helmes.
38:6Gomer, and alle the cumpenyes of hym, the hous of Togorma, the sidis of the north, and al the strengthe therof, and many puplis ben with thee.
38:7Make redi, and araye thee, and al thi multitude which is gaderid to thee, and be thou in to comaundement to hem.
38:8Aftir many daies thou schalt be visitid, in the laste of yeeris thou schalt come to the lond, that turnede ayen fro swerd, and was gaderid of many puplis, to the hillis of Israel that weren desert ful ofte; this was led out of puplis, and alle men dwellide tristili ther ynne.
38:9Forsothe thou schalt stie, and schalt come as a tempest, and as a cloude, for to hile the lond, thou, and alle thi cumpanyes, and many puplis with thee.
38:10The Lord God seith these thingis, In that dai wordis schulen stie on thin herte, and thou schalt thenke the worste thouyt;
38:11and schalt seie, Y schal stie to the lond with out wal, and Y schal come to hem that resten and dwellen sikirli; alle these dwellen with out wal, barris and yatis ben not to hem;
38:12that thou rauysche spuylis, and asaile prei; that thou brynge in thin hond on hem that weren forsakun, and afterward restorid, and on the puple which is gaderid of hethene men, that bigan to welde, and to be enhabitere of the nawle of erthe.
38:13Saba, and Dedan, and the marchauntis of Tharsis, and alle the liouns therof schulen seie to thee, Whether thou comest to take spuylis? Lo! to rauysche prey thou hast gaderid thi multitude, that thou take awei gold and siluer, and do awei purtenaunce of houshold and catel, and that thou rauysche preyes with out noumbre.
38:14Therfor profesie thou, sone of man; and thou schalt seie to Gog, The Lord God seith these thingis, Whether not in that dai, whanne my puple Israel schal dwelle tristili, thou schalt wite;
38:15and schalt come fro thi place, fro the sidis of the north, thou, and many puplis with thee, alle stieris of horsis, a greet cumpany, and an huge oost;
38:16and thou as a cloude schalt stie on my puple Israel, that thou hile the erthe? Thou schalt be in the laste daies, and Y schal brynge thee on my lond, that my folkis wite, whanne Y schal be halewid in thee, thou Gog, bifor the iyen of them.
38:17The Lord God seith these thingis, Therfor thou art he of whom Y spak in elde daies, in the hond of my seruauntis, profetis of Israel, that profesieden in the daies of tho tymes, that Y schulde bringe thee on hem.
38:18And it schal be, in that dai, in the dai of the comyng of Gog on the lond of Israel, seith the Lord God, myn indignacioun schal stie in my strong veniaunce, and in my feruour;
38:19Y spak in the fier of my wraththe.
38:20For in that dai schal be grete mouyng on the lond of Israel; and fischis of the see, and beestis of erthe, and briddis of the eir, and ech crepynge beeste which is mouyd on erthe, and alle men that ben on the face of erthe, schulen be mouyd fro my face; and hillis schulen be vndurturned, and heggis schulen falle doun, and ech wal schal falle doun in to erthe.
