| 5:13 | Ye ben salt of the erthe; that if the salt vanysche awey, whereynne schal it be saltid? To no thing it is worth ouere, no but that it be cast out, and be defoulid of men. |

| 5:15 | ne me teendith not a lanterne, and puttith it vndur a busschel, but on a candilstike, that it yyue liyt to alle that ben in the hous. |
| 5:16 | So schyne youre liyt befor men, that thei se youre goode werkis, and glorifie youre fadir that is in heuenes. |
| 5:17 | Nil ye deme, that Y cam to vndo the lawe, or the profetis; Y cam not to vndo the lawe, but to fulfille. |
| 5:18 | Forsothe Y seie to you, til heuene and erthe passe, o lettir or o titel shal not passe fro the lawe, til alle thingis be doon. |
| 5:19 | Therfor he that brekith oon of these leeste maundementis, and techith thus men, schal be clepid the leste in the rewme of heuenes; `but he that doith, and techith, schal be clepid greet in the kyngdom of heuenes. |
| 5:20 | And Y seie to you, that but your riytfulnesse be more plenteuouse than of scribis and of Farisees, ye schulen not entre into the kyngdom of heuenes. |
| 5:21 | Ye han herd that it was seid to elde men, Thou schalt not slee; and he that sleeth, schal be gilti to doom. |
| 5:22 | But Y seie to you, that ech man that is wrooth to his brothir, schal be gilti to doom; and he that seith to his brother, Fy! schal be gilti to the counseil; but he that seith, Fool, schal be gilti to the fier of helle. |
| 5:23 | Therfor if thou offrist thi yifte `at the auter, and ther thou bithenkist, that thi brothir hath sum what ayens thee, |
| 5:24 | leeue there thi yifte bifor the auter, and go first to be recounselid to thi brothir, and thanne thou schalt come, and schalt offre thi yifte. |
| 5:25 | Be thou consentynge to thin aduersarie soone, while thou art in the weie with hym, lest perauenture thin aduersarie take thee to the domesman, and the domesman take thee to the mynystre, and thou be sent in to prisoun. |
| 5:26 | Treuli Y seie to thee, thou shalt not go out fro thennus, til thou yelde the last ferthing. |
| 5:27 | Ye han herd that it was seid to elde men, Thou schalt `do no letcherie. |
| 5:28 | But Y seie to you, that euery man that seeth a womman for to coueite hir, hath now do letcherie bi hir in his herte. |
| 5:29 | That if thi riyt iye sclaundre thee, pulle hym out, and caste fro thee; for it spedith to thee, that oon of thi membris perische, than that al thi bodi go in to helle. |
| 5:30 | And if thi riyt hond sclaundre thee, kitte hym aweye, and caste fro thee; for it spedith to thee that oon of thi membris perische, than that al thi bodi go in to helle. |
| 5:31 | And it hath be seyd, Who euere leeueth his wijf, yyue he to hir a libel of forsakyng. |
| 5:32 | But Y seie to you, that euery man that leeueth his wijf, outtakun cause of fornycacioun, makith hir to do letcherie, and he that weddith the forsakun wijf, doith auowtrye. |
| 5:33 | Eftsoone ye han herd, that it was seid to elde men, Thou schalt not forswere, but thou schalt yelde thin othis to the Lord. |
| 5:34 | But Y seie to you, that ye swere not `for ony thing; nethir bi heuene, for it is the trone of God; |
| 5:35 | nether bi the erthe, for it is the stole of his feet; nether bi Jerusalem, for it is the citee of a greet kyng; nether thou shalt not swere bi thin heed, |
| 5:36 | for thou maist not make oon heere white, ne blacke; |
| 5:37 | but be youre word, Yhe, yhe; Nay, nay; and that that is more than these, is of yuel. |
| 5:38 | Ye han herd that it hath be seid, Iye for iye, and tothe for tothe. |
| 5:39 | But Y seie to you, that ye ayenstonde not an yuel man; but if ony smyte thee in the riyt cheke, schewe to him also the tothir; |
| 5:40 | and to hym that wole stryue with thee in doom, and take awey thi coote, leeue thou `to him also thi mantil; |
| 5:41 | and who euer constreyneth thee a thousynde pacis, go thou with hym othir tweyne. |
| 5:42 | Yyue thou to hym that axith of thee, and turne not awey fro hym that wole borewe of thee. |
| 5:43 | Ye han herd that it was seid, Thou shalt loue thi neiybore, and hate thin enemye. |
| 5:44 | But Y seie to you, loue ye youre enemyes, do ye wel to hem that hatiden you, and preye ye for hem that pursuen, and sclaundren you; |
| 5:45 | that ye be the sones of your fadir that is in heuenes, that makith his sunne to rise vpon goode `and yuele men, and reyneth on iust men and vniuste. |
| 5:46 | For if ye louen hem that louen you, what mede schulen ye han? whether pupplicans doon not this? |
| 5:47 | And if ye greten youre britheren oonli, what schulen ye do more? ne doon not hethene men this? |
| 5:48 | Therfore be ye parfit, as youre heuenli fadir is parfit. |

| 5:3 | Blessed are the povre in sprete: for theirs is the kyngdome of heven. |
| 5:4 | Blessed are they that morne: for they shalbe conforted. |
| 5:5 | Blessed are the meke: for they shall inheret the erth. |
| 5:6 | Blessed are they which honger and thurst for rightewesnes: for they shalbe filled. |
| 5:7 | Blessed are ye mercifull: for they shall obteyne mercy. |
| 5:8 | Blessed are the pure in herte: for they shall se God. |
| 5:9 | Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shalbe called the chyldren of God. |
| 5:10 | Blessed are they which suffre persecucio for rightwesnes sake: for theirs ys the kyngdome of heuen. |
| 5:11 | Blessed are ye when men reuyle you and persecute you and shall falsly say all manner of yvell saynges agaynst you for my sake. |
| 5:12 | Reioyce and be glad for greate is youre rewarde in heven. + For so persecuted they ye Prophetes which were before youre dayes. |
| 5:13 | ye are ye salt of the erthe: but and yf ye salt have lost hir saltnes what can be salted ther with? It is thence forthe good for nothynge but to be cast oute and to be troade vnder fote of men. |
| 5:14 | Ye are ye light of the worlde. A cite yt is set on an hill cannot be hid |
| 5:15 | nether do men lyght a cadell and put it vnder a busshell but on a candelstick and it lighteth all that are in the house. |
| 5:16 | Let youre light so shyne before men yt they maye se youre good workes and glorify youre father which is in heven. |
| 5:17 | Thinke not yt I am come to destroye the lawe or the Prophets: no I am nott come to destroye them but to fulfyll them. |
| 5:18 | For truely I saye vnto you till heven and erth perisshe one iott or one tytle of the lawe shall not scape tyll all be fulfilled. |
| 5:19 | Whosoever breaketh one of these lest commaundmentes and teacheth men so he shalbe called the leest in the kyngdome of heve. But whosoever obserueth and teacheth ye same shal be called greate in the kyngdome of heven. |
| 5:20 | For I saye vnto you except youre rightewesnes excede the righetewesnes of ye Scribes and Pharises ye canot entre into ye kyngdome of heven. |
| 5:21 | Ye have herde howe it was sayd vnto the of ye olde tyme: Thou shalt not kyll. For whoso ever kylleth shall be in daunger of iudgemet. |
| 5:22 | But I say vnto you whosoever is angre with hys brother shalbe in daunger of iudgement. Whosoeuer sayeth vnto his brother Racha shalbe in dauger of a cousell. But whosoeuer sayeth thou fole shalbe in dauger of hell fyre. |
| 5:23 | Therfore whe thou offrest thy gifte at the altare and their remembrest that thy brother hath ought agaynst the: |
| 5:24 | leue there thyne offrynge before the altre and go thy waye first and be reconcyled to thy brother and then come and offre thy gyfte. |
| 5:25 | Agre with thyne adversary quicklye whyles thou arte in ye waye with hym lest that adversary deliver ye to ye iudge and ye iudge delivre ye to ye minister and the thou be cast into preson. |
| 5:26 | I say vnto ye verely: thou shalt not come out thece till thou have payed ye utmost farthige. |
| 5:27 | Ye haue hearde howe it was sayde to the of olde tyme: Thou shalt not comitt advoutrie. |
| 5:28 | But I say vnto you that whosoeuer looketh on a wyfe lustynge after her hathe comitted advoutrie with hir alredy in his hert. |
| 5:29 | Wherfore yf thy right eye offende ye plucke hym out and caste him from the. Better it is for the yt one of thy membres perisshe then that thy hole bodye shuld be cast into hell. |
| 5:30 | Also if thy right honde offend ye cut hym of and caste hym from the. Better yt ys that one of thy membres perisshe then that all thy body shulde be caste in to hell. |
| 5:31 | It ys sayd whosoever put awaye his wyfe let hym geve her a testymonyall also of the devorcement. |
| 5:32 | But I say vnto you: whosoever put awaye his wyfe (except it be for fornicacion) causeth her to breake matrymony. And whosoever maryeth her that is devorsed breaketh wedlocke. |
| 5:33 | Agayne ye haue hearde how it was sayd to the of olde tyme thou shalt not forsuere thy selfe but shalt performe thyne othe to God. |
| 5:34 | But I saye vnto you swere not at all nether by heue for it ys Goddes seate: |
| 5:35 | nor yet by the erth for it is his fote stole: nether by Ierusalem for it ys ye cyte of yt greate kynge: |
| 5:36 | nether shalt thou sweare by thy heed because thou canst not make one white heer or blacke: |
| 5:37 | But your comunicacion shalbe ye ye: nay nay. For whatsoeuer is more then yt cometh of yvell. |
| 5:38 | Ye have hearde how it ys sayd an eye for an eye: a tothe for a tothe. |
| 5:39 | But I saye to you that ye resist not wroge. But whosoever geve the a blowe on thy right cheke tourne to him the other. |

| 5:41 | And whosoever wyll copell the to goo a myle goo wyth him twayne. |
| 5:42 | Geve to him that axeth and fro him that wolde borowe tourne not awaye. |
| 5:43 | Ye have hearde how it is sayde: thou shalt love thyne neghbour and hate thine enimy. |
| 5:44 | But I saye vnto you love youre enimies. Blesse the that coursse you. Do good to them that hate you. Praye for them which doo you wronge and persecute you |
| 5:45 | that ye maye be ye chyldern of youre father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to aryse on ye yvell and on the good and sendeth his reyn on the iuste and vniuste. |
| 5:46 | For yf ye love them which love you: what rewarde shall ye have? Doo not the Publicans euen so? |
| 5:47 | And yf ye be frendly to youre brethren onlye: what singuler thynge doo ye? Do not the Publicans lyke wyse? |
