14:1	On þare tide ge-herde herodes se feorþan dæles rice þas hælendes hlysan.
14:2	& þa sægde he his cnihten. þes is iohannes se fulluhtere þe ic be-heafdede he aras of deaðe. & for þam synde þas wundre gefremede on him.
14:3	Soðlice herodes nam Iohannem & ge-band hine. & sette on cwarterne. for þam wife herodiade philippus his broðor.
14:4	Iohannes him sægde. nis þe alyfed hy to wife to hæbbenne
14:5	& þa þe he hine of-slean wolde he adrede him þæt folc for þam þe hyo hafdon hine for ænne witege.
14:6	Ða on Herodes gebyrd-dayge. tumbede þær herodiadisse dohtor be-forem (sic) hym & hit likede herode.
14:7	Ða be-het he mid aþe hire to gyfene swa hwæt swa hyo hine bæde.
14:8	Ða cwæð hyo. fram hire moder ge-meneged. Syle me on anen disce Iohannes heafed þas fulluhteres.
14:9	Ða wæs se kyng unbliðe. for þam aþe. & for þam þe him sæten mide.
14:10	& he asende þa & be-hæfdede iohanne on þam cwærterne.
14:11	& man brohte þa his heafod on anen disce. & sealde þam maidene. & þæt maiden hire moder.
14:12	Ænd þa ge-neahlahten his leorning-cnihtes & namen his lichame. & be-berigedon hine. & coman & kyddan hit þam hælende.
14:13	Þa se hælend þæt ge-hyrde þa ferde he þanen on-syndron on anum scype. & þa þa gangendon manigeo þt ge-hyrdon hyo felgdon hym of þam burgen.
14:14	& þa he þanen ferde. he ge-seah mycele menigeo. & he heom ge-miltsede & ge-hælde þa untruman.
14:15	Soðlice þa hyt wæs æfen ge-worðen. him to neahlahton hys leorning-cnihtes & him to cwæðen. Ðeos stowe is weste & time ys forð agan. for-læt þas mænigeo þæt hyo faren in-to þas burgen. & heom mëte byggen.
14:16	Ða cweð se hælend to heom. næbbeð hyo neode to farene sylle ge heom etan.
14:17	Ða andswereden hyo we næbbeð her buton fif hlafes. & twegen fixsas.
14:18	Ða cwæð se hælend. bringeð me hider.
14:19	Ænd þa he het þa mænigeo ofer þt gærs sitton. & he nam þa fif hlafes & twegen fixas. & be-seah on þonne heofene & bletsode. Bræc þa þa hlafes & sealde hys leorning-cnihten. & hyo þam folce.
14:20	& hyo æten ealle. & wæren ge-fylde. & hyo namen þa lafe twelf wylien fulle. þare britsene.
14:21	Soðlice þare etendra ge-tel wæs fif þusenda weran. buton wifan & childon.
14:22	Ænd þa sona het se hælend his leorning-cnihtas on scyp astigan. & to-foram (sic) hym faren ofer þanne muþun. oð ðæt he þa mænigeo for-lete.
14:23	Ænd þa he hyo for-læten hafde. he eode on þanne munt. & hine þær ane ge-bæd. Soðlice þa hyt æfen wæs he wæs ana þær.
14:24	Witodlice wæs þæt scyp of yþum to-torfod. for-þan þe hit wæs strang wind.
14:25	Þa com se hælend embe þane feorþan ancred (sic) to heom ofer þa sæ gangende.
14:26	Þa hyo ge-seagen þæt hyo wurðon þa gedrefde. & for þam eige cleopoden & cwæðen þus. Soðlice hit is scinlac.
14:27	Ða spræc se hælend. & cweð. hæbbeð ge-leafan. ich hit eom nellen ge eow on-dræden.
14:28	Ða andswerede hym petrus. & cwæð. Drihten gyf þu hit ert. hat me cuman to þe ofer þas watere.
14:29	Þa cwæð he. cum to me. Ða eode petrus of þam scype ofer þæt wæter. þæt he to þam hælende come.
14:30	Þa he ge-seah þanne strange wind he him on-drædde. Ða he warð gedofon he cweð. drihton ge-do me halgan.
14:31	And þa rædlice he ge-feng hyne & þus cwæð. litles ge-leafenes hwi tweonodost þu.
14:32	& þa hy wæren on scype ge-swac se wind.
14:33	Soðlice þa þe on þam scype wæron comen & to him ge-bædon & þus cwæðen. Soðlice þu ert godes sune.
14:34	& þa hyo ofer-seigledon hyo comen on þæt land genesareth.
14:35	& þa þæt folc hine ge-cneow hyo sentten geond eall þæt land. & brohton to him ealle untrume.
14:36	& hine bædon. þæt hyo hwure-þinge hys reafes fned æt-rinen. & swa hlylce (sic) hys æt-rinen. wurðen hale.


14:1	At that time Herod the Tetrarche heard of the fame of Iesus,
14:2	And sayde vnto his seruaunts, This is that Iohn Baptist, hee is risen againe from the deade, and therefore great woorkes are wrought by him.
14:3	For Herod had taken Iohn, and bounde him, and put him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother Philips wife.
14:4	For Iohn saide vnto him, It is not lawfull for thee to haue her.
14:5	And when hee woulde haue put him to death, hee feared the multitude, because they counted him as a Prophet.
14:6	But when Herods birth day was kept, the daughter of Herodias daunced before them, and pleased Herod.
14:7	Wherefore he promised with an othe, that he would giue her whatsoeuer she would aske.
14:8	And shee being before instructed of her mother, sayde, Giue mee here Iohn Baptists head in a platter.
14:9	And the King was sorie: neuerthelesse because of the othe, and them that sate with him at the table, he commanded it to be giuen her,
14:10	And sent, and beheaded Iohn in the prison.
14:11	And his head was brought in a platter, and giuen to the maide, and shee brought it vnto her mother.
14:12	And his disciples came, and tooke vp the bodie, and buried it, and went, and tolde Iesus.
14:13	And when Iesus heard it, hee departed thence by shippe into a desert place apart. And when the multitude had heard it, they followed him on foote out of the cities.
14:14	And Iesus went foorth and sawe a great multitude, and was mooued with compassion toward them, and he healed their sicke.
14:15	And when euen was come, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desart place, and the time is alreadie past: let the multitude depart, that they may goe into the townes, and bye them vitailes.
14:16	But Iesus saide to them, They haue no neede to goe away: giue yee them to eate.
14:17	Then saide they vnto him, Wee haue here but fiue loaues, and two fishes.
14:18	And he saide, Bring them hither to me.
14:19	And hee commanded the multitude to sit downe on the grasse, and tooke the fiue loaues and the two fishes, and looked vp to heauen and blessed, and brake, and gaue the loaues to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
14:20	And they did all eate, and were sufficed, and they tooke vp of the fragments that remained, twelue baskets full.
14:21	And they that had eaten, were about fiue thousande men, beside women and litle children.
14:22	And straightway Iesus compelled his disciples to enter into a shippe, and to goe ouer before him, while he sent the multitude away.
14:23	And assoone as hee had sent the multitude away, he went vp into a moutaine alone to pray: and when the euening was come, hee was there alone.
14:24	And the shippe was nowe in the middes of the sea, and was tossed with waues: for it was a contrarie winde.
14:25	And in the fourth watch of the night, Iesus went vnto them, walking on the sea.
14:26	And when his disciples sawe him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit, and cried out for feare.
14:27	But straight way Iesus spake vnto them, saying, Be of good comfort, It is I: be not afraide.
14:28	Then Peter answered him, and saide, Master, if it be thou, bid me come vnto thee on the water.
14:29	And he saide, Come. And when Peter was come downe out of the shippe, he walked on the water, to goe to Iesus.
14:30	But when he sawe a mightie winde, he was afraide: and as he began to sinke, he cried, saying, Master, saue me.
14:31	So immediatly Iesus stretched foorth his hande, and caught him, and saide to him, O thou of litle faith, wherefore diddest thou doubt?
14:32	And assoone as they were come into the ship, the winde ceased.
14:33	Then they that were in the ship, came and worshipped him, saying, Of a trueth thou art the Sonne of God.
14:34	And when they were come ouer, they came into the land of Gennezaret.
14:35	And when the men of that place knewe him, they sent out into all that countrey rounde about, and brought vnto him all that were sicke,
14:36	And besought him, that they might touch the hemme of his garment onely: and as many as touched it, were made whole.


14:1	At that tyme Herod the tetrarcha hearde of the fame of Iesu
14:2	and sayde vnto his servautes: This is Ihon ye baptist. He is risen agayne from deeth and therfore are soche myracles wrought by him.
14:3	For Herod had taken Ihon and bounde him and put him in preson for Herodias sake his brother Philips wyfe.
14:4	For Ihon sayde vnto him: Yt is not lawfull for the to have her.
14:5	And when he wold have put him to deeth he feared the people because they counted him as a prophet.
14:6	But when Herodes birth daye was come the doughter of Herodias daunsed before them and pleased Herod.
14:7	Wherfore he promised wt an oth that he wolde geve hir whatsoever she wolde axe.
14:8	And she beinge informed of her mother before sayde: geve me here Ihon baptistes heed in a platter.
14:9	And ye kynge sorowed. Neverthelesse for his othes sake and for their sakis which sate also at ye table he comaunded yt to be geven hir:
14:10	and sent and beheeded Ihon in the preson
14:11	and his heed was brought in a platter and geven to the damsell and she brought it to her mother.
14:12	And his disciples came and toke vp his body and buryed it: and went and tolde Iesus.
14:13	When Iesus hearde that he departed thence by shippe in to a desert place out of ye waye. And when the people had hearde therof they folowed him afote out of their cities.
14:14	And Iesus went forth and sawe moche people and his herte did melte vpon them and he healed of them those that were sicke.
14:15	When even was come his disciples came to him sayinge. This is a deserte place and the daye is spent: let the people departe yt they maye go into ye tounes and bye them vytayllis.
14:16	But Iesus sayde vnto them. They have no neade to go awaye. Geve ye the to eate.
14:17	Then sayde they vnto him: we have here but .v. loves and two fysshes.
14:18	And he sayde: bringe the hyther to me.
14:19	And he comaunded ye people to syt downe on ye grasse: and toke ye .v. loves and the .ii. fysshes and loked vp to heven and blessed and brake and gave the loves to his disciples and the disciples gave them to ye people.
14:20	And they dyd all eate and were suffised. And they gadered vp of ye gobbetes that remayned vii. basketes full.
14:21	And they yt ate werein nobre about .v.M. men besyde wemen and chyldren.
14:22	And strayght waye Iesus made his disciples enter into a shippe and to goo over before him whill he sent ye people awaye.
14:23	And assone as he had sent the people awaye he went vp into a moutayne alone to praye. And when nyght was come he was there himsilf alone.
14:24	And the shippe was now in the middes of the see and was toost with waves for it was a cotrary wynde.
14:25	In the fourthe watche of ye night Iesus came vnto them walkynge on the see.
14:26	And when his disciples sawe him walkynge on the see they were troubled sayinge: it is some spirite and cryed out for feare.
14:27	And streyght waye Iesus spake vnto them sayinge: be of god cheare it is I be not afrayed.
14:28	Peter answered him and sayde: master if thou be he bid me come vnto the on the water.
14:29	And he sayde come. And when Peter was come doune out of ye shippe he walked on ye water to go to Iesus.
14:30	But when he sawe a myghty wynde he was afrayed. And as he beganne to synke he cryed sayinge: master save me.
14:31	And immediatly Iesus stretched forth his hode and caught him and sayde to him: O thou of lytell faith wherfore diddest thou dout?
14:32	And assone as they were come in to ye shippe ye wynde ceassed.
14:33	Then they that were in the shippe came and worshipped him sayinge: of a truth thou arte ye sonne of God.
14:34	And when they were come over they went in to ye londe of Genazareth.
14:35	And when ye men of yt place had knowledge of him they sent out in to all yt countre rounde about and brought vnto him all that were sicke
14:36	and besought him that they myght touche the hemme of his vesture only. And as many as touched it were made safe.
