20:1	Soðlice heofene rice ys ge-lic þam hyrdes ealdre. þe on ernemorgen ut-eode ähyrian wyrhten on hys win-geard.
20:2	Ge-wordenre ge-cwydredene þam werhtan he sealde ælchen ænne pænig wið hys dæges weorke. he sente hyo on hys win-geard.
20:3	& þa he ut-eode ymbe under-tide. he ge-seah oðre on stræte ydele standen.
20:4	Þa cwæð he. ga ge on minne win-geard. & ic gyfe eow þt riht beoð. & hy þa eoden.
20:5	Eft he ut-eode embe þa syxten & þa nigeþan tyde. & dyde þam swa ge-lice.
20:6	Ða ymbe þa endlyftan tide heo (sic) ut-geode. & funde oðre standende. & þa sægde he. Hwi stande ge her ealne dayg ydele.
20:7	Ða cwæðen hye. for-þan þe nan mann us ne herde. Ða quoth. he gað on minne win-geard.
20:8	Soðlice þa hyt wæs æfen ge-worðen. þa sægde þas wingeardes hlaford hys ge-refen. Clepe þa werhtan. & gyf heom heore mede. agyn fram þam ytemestan. oð þanne fyrmesten.
20:9	Eornestlice þa ða ge-comen þa ymbe þa ændlyften tide comen. þa onfengen hi ælch hys panig.
20:10	& þa þe þær ær comen wenden þæt hyo mare scolden on-fon. þa on-fengen hyo sindrie paneges.
20:11	Ða ongunnen hyo murcnian ongean þanne heorde alder.
20:12	& þus cwæðen. Ðas ytemestan worhtan ane tïde. & þu dydest hyo ge-liche us. þe bæren byrdene oððe þises dayges hæten.
20:13	Þa cwæð he andsweriende hyora anen. Eale þu freond ne do ich þe nane teonen. hu ne come þu to me to wyrcenne for ænne panig.
20:14	nym þæt þe þin ys & gä. ic wille þisen ytemestan gyfan eal swa mycel swa þe.
20:15	Oððe ne mot ic don þæt ic wille. hwader þe þin eage manfull ys. forþam þe ich göd eom.
20:16	Swa beoð þa fyrmestan ytemeste. & þa ytemesta fyrmesta. Soðlice manega synde ge-clypede. & feawe ge-corena.
20:17	Þa ferde se hælend to Ierusalem. & nam hys leorning-cnihtes on-sundren & þus cwæð to heom.
20:18	Nu we fareð to ierusalem. ænd mannes sune beoð ge-seald þare sacerda eldren & bokeren. & hyo ge-niðeriað hine to deaðe.
20:19	þeoden to bisemerienne. & to swingenne. & to ahonne. & þam þridde daige he arist.
20:20	Ða com to hym zebedeis bearne moder mid hire bearnen. hyo ge-eadmedende & sum þing fram him byddende.
20:21	Ða cwæð he. hwæt wilt þu. Ða cwæð hye. sege þæt þas twege mine sunas sittan an on þinen swiðren healfe. & se oþer on þinen wenstron on þinen rice.
20:22	Ða andswerede heom se hælend. gyt nyston ge hwæt gyt byddeð. mugen gyt drinken þanne calic ðe ic to drinken hæbbe. Ða cwæðen hye wit mugen.
20:23	Ða cwæð he. witodlice gyt minne calic drinkeð. to sittenne on mine swiðre healfe oððe on wenstren nis me inc to sellenne. ac þan þe hit fram minen fæder gegarewed ys.
20:24	& þa þa teon leorning-cnihtes gebolgen wið þa twegen broðren.

20:29	& þa he ferde Note: MS. ferden, alt. to ferde. fram ierico hym felgde mycel maniga.
20:30	& þa sæten twegen. blinde wið þanne weig. & hyo ge-herden þæt se hælend þær forð-ferde. & þa clypeden hyo to hym and cwæðen. drihten ge-miltse unc dauiðes sune.
20:31	Ða bed syo manige heom þæt hyo swugedon. þa clepedon hyo þæs þe mare. Drihten ge-miltse unc dauiðes sune.
20:32	Ða stod se hælend & clypede hyo to hym & cwæð. hwæt wille git þæt ic inc do.
20:33	Þa cwæðen hio. Drihten þæt uncor eagen seon ge-openede.
20:34	Ða ge-miltsede he heom. & heora eagen æt-ran. & hyo ge-seagen. & felgedon hym.


20:1	For the kingdome of heauen is like vnto a certaine, housholder, which went out at the dawning of the day to hire labourers into his vineyarde.
20:2	And he agreed with the labourers for a peny a day, and sent them into his vineyard.
20:3	And he went out about the third houre, and sawe other standing idle in the market place,
20:4	And sayd vnto them, Goe ye also into my vineyard, and whatsoeuer is right, I will giue you: and they went their way.
20:5	Againe he went out about the sixt and ninth houre, and did likewise.
20:6	And he went about the eleuenth houre, and found other standing idle, and sayd vnto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
20:7	They sayd vnto him, Because no man hath hired vs. He sayd to them, Goe ye also into my vineyard, and whatsoeuer is right, that shall ye receiue.
20:8	And when euen was come, the master of the vineyard sayd vnto his steward, Call the labourers, and giue them their hire, beginning at the last, till thou come to the first.
20:9	And they which were hired about ye eleuenth houre, came and receiued euery man a penie.
20:10	Nowe when the first came, they supposed that they should receiue more, but they likewise receiued euery man a penie.
20:11	And when they had receiued it, they murmured against the master of the house,
20:12	Saying, These last haue wrought but one houre, and thou hast made them equall vnto vs, which haue borne the burden and heate of the day.
20:13	And hee answered one of them, saying, Friend, I doe thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penie?
20:14	Take that which is thine owne, and go thy way: I will giue vnto this last, as much as to thee.
20:15	Is it not lawfull for me to do as I will with mine owne? Is thine eye euil, because I am good?
20:16	So the last shalbe first, and the first last: for many are called, but fewe chosen.
20:17	And Iesus went vp to Hierusalem, and tooke the twelue disciples apart in the way, and said vnto them,
20:18	Beholde, wee goe vp to Hierusalem, and the Sonne of man shall bee deliuered vnto the chiefe priestes, and vnto the Scribes, and they shall condemne him to death,
20:19	And shall deliuer him to the Gentiles, to mocke, and to scourge, and to crucifie him, but the third day he shall rise againe.
20:20	Then came to him the mother of Zebedeus children with her sonnes, worshipping him, and desiring a certaine thing of him.
20:21	And he said vnto her, What wouldest thou? She said to him, Graunt that these my two sonnes may sit, the one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left hand in thy kingdome.
20:22	And Iesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye aske. Are ye able to drinke of the cup that I shall drinke of, and to be baptized with the baptisme that I shalbe baptized with? They said to him, We are able.
20:23	And he said vnto them, Ye shall drinke in deede of my cup, and shall be baptized with the baptisme, that I am baptized with, but to sit at my right hande, and at my left hand, is not mine to giue: but it shalbe giuen to them for whome it is prepared of my Father.
20:24	And when the other ten heard this, they disdained at the two brethren.
20:25	Therefore Iesus called them vnto him, and saide, We knowe that the lordes of the Gentiles haue domination ouer them, and they that are great, exercise authoritie ouer them.
20:26	But it shall not be so among you: but whosoeuer will be great among you, let him be your seruant.
20:27	And whosoeuer will be chiefe among you, let him be your seruant.
20:28	Euen as the Sonne of man came not to be serued, but to serue, and to giue his life for the ransome of many.
20:29	And as they departed from Iericho, a great multitude followed him.
20:30	And beholde, two blinde men, sitting by the way side, when they heard that Iesus passed by, cryed, saying, O Lord, the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on vs.
20:31	And the multitude rebuked them, because they should holde their peace: but they cried the more, saying, O Lord, the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on vs.
20:32	Then Iesus stoode still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I should do to you?
20:33	They saide to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
20:34	And Iesus mooued with compassion, touched their eyes, and immediatly their eyes receiued sight, and they followed him.


20:1	For the kyngdome of heven ys lyke vnto an houssholder which went out erly in the morninge to hyre labourers into hys vyneyarde.
20:2	And he agreed wt the labourers for a peny a daye and sent them into his vyneyarde.
20:3	And he went out about the thyrde houre and sawe other stonding ydell in the marketplace
20:4	and sayd vnto them go ye also into my vyneyarde: and whatsoever is right I will geve you. And they went there waye.
20:5	Agayne he wet out about the sixte and nynthe houre and dyd lyke wyse.
20:6	And he went out aboute the eleventhe houre and founde other stondynge ydell and sayde vnto them: Why stonde ye here all the daye ydell?
20:7	They sayde vnto hym: because no man hath hyred vs. He sayde to them: goo ye alsoo into my vyneyarde and whatsoever is right that shall ye receave.
20:8	When even was come the lorde of the vyneyarde sayde vnto hys steward: call the labourers and geve them their hyre beginnyng at ye laste tyll thou come to ye fyrste.
20:9	And they whiche were hyred aboute the eleventhe houre came and receaved every man a peny.
20:10	Then came ye fyrst supposyng yt they shuld receave moare: and they likewyse receaved every man a peny.
20:11	And when they had receaved it they murmured agaynst the good man of the housse
20:12	saying: These laste have wrought but one houre and thou hast made them equall vnto vs which have born ye burthe and heet of the daye.
20:13	He answered to one of the sayinge: frende I do the no wronge: dyddest thou not agre wt me for a peny?
20:14	Take that which is thy duty and go thy waye. I will geve vnto this last as moche as to the.
20:15	Ys it not lawfull for me to do as me listeth with myne awne? Ys thyne eye evyll because I am good?
20:16	Soo the laste shalbe fyrste and the fyrste shalbe laste. For many are called and feawe be chosen.
20:17	And Iesus ascended to Ierusalem and toke the .xii. disciples a parte in the waye and sayde to the.

20:19	and shall delyvre him to the getils to be mocked to be scourged and to be crucified: and ye thyrd daye he shall ryse agayne.
20:20	Then came to hym the mother of zebedes chyldren with her sonnes worshippynge him and desyringe a certayne thinge of him.
20:21	And he sayd vnto her: what wilt thou have? She sayde vnto him: Gravnte that these my two sonnes may sit ye one on thy right hond and the other on ye lifte hond in thy kyngdome.
20:22	Iesus answered and sayd: Ye wot not what ye axe. Are ye able to drynke of the cuppe yt I shall drynke of and to be baptised wt the baptyme that I shalbe baptised with? They answered to him that we are.
20:23	And he sayd vnto the: Ye shall drinke of my cvp and shalbe baptised with the baptyme that I shalbe baptised with. But to syt on my ryght hond and on my lyst hond is not myne to geve: but to them for whom it is prepared of my father.
20:24	And when the ten hearde this they disdayned at ye two brethre:
20:25	But Iesus called them vnto him and sayde: Ye knowe yt the lordes of the gentyls have dominacio over them. And they that are great exercise power over the.
20:26	It shall not be so amoge you. But whosoever wyll be greate amoge you let him be youre minister:
20:27	and whosoever wil be chefe let him be youre servaut
20:28	eve as the sonne of man came not to be ministred vnto but to minister and to geve his lyfe for the redempcion of many.
20:29	And as they departed fro Hierico moche people folowed him.
20:30	And beholde two blinde men sittinge by ye waysyde whe they hearde Iesus passe by cryed sayinge: Thou Lorde ye sonne of David have mercy on vs.
20:31	And ye people rebuked them be cause they shulde holde their peace. But they cryed ye moare sayinge: have mercy on vs thou Lorde which arte ye sonne of David.
20:32	Then Iesus stode styll and called the and sayde: what will ye that I shulde do to you:
20:33	They sayd to him: Lorde that oure eyes maye be opened.
20:34	Iesus had copassion on the and touched their eyes. And immediatly their eyes receaved syght. And they folowed him.
