22:1Then Iesus answered, and spake vnto them againe in parables, saying,
22:2The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a certaine King which maried his sonne,
22:3And sent foorth his seruants, to call them that were bidde to the wedding, but they woulde not come.
22:4Againe hee sent foorth other seruants, saying. Tell them which are bidden, Beholde, I haue prepared my dinner: mine oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all thinges are readie: come vnto the mariage.
22:5But they made light of it, and went their wayes, one to his farme, and another about his marchandise.
22:6And the remnant tooke his seruants, and intreated them sharpely, and slewe them.
22:7But when the King heard it, he was wroth, and sent foorth his warriers, and destroyed those murtherers, and burnt vp their citie.
22:8Then saide hee to his seruants, Truely the wedding is prepared: but they which were bidden, were not worthy.
22:9Go ye therefore out into the high wayes, and as many as ye finde, bid them to the mariage.
22:10So those seruantes went out into the hie wayes, and gathered together all that euer they found, both good and bad: so the wedding was furnished with ghestes.
22:11Then the King came in, to see the ghestes, and sawe there a man which had not on a wedding garment.
22:12And he sayd vnto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, and hast not on a wedding garment? And he was speachlesse.
22:13Then sayd the King to the seruants, Binde him hand and foote: take him away, and cast him into vtter darkenes: there shalbe weeping and gnashing of teeth.
22:14For many are called, but fewe chosen.
22:15Then went the Pharises and tooke counsell how they might tangle him in talke.
22:16And they sent vnto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truely, neither carest for any man: for thou considerest not the person of men.
22:17Tell vs therefore, how thinkest thou? Is it lawfull to giue tribute vnto Cesar, or not?
22:18But Iesus perceiued their wickednes, and sayd, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
22:19Shewe me the tribute money. And they brought him a peny.
22:20And he sayde vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
22:21They sayd vnto him, Cesars. Then sayd he vnto them, Giue therefore to Cesar, the things which are Cesars, and giue vnto God, those things which are Gods.
22:22And when they heard it, they marueiled, and left him, and went their way.
22:23The same day the Sadduces came to him (which say that there is no resurrection) and asked him,
22:24Saying, Master, Moses sayd, If a man die, hauing no children, his brother shall marie his wife by the right of alliance, and raise vp seede vnto his brother.
22:25Nowe there were with vs seuen brethren, and the first maried a wife, and deceased: and hauing none yssue, left his wife vnto his brother.
22:26Likewise also the second, and the third, vnto the seuenth.
22:27And last of all the woman died also.
22:28Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seuen? for all had her.
22:29Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, Ye are deceiued, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
22:30For in the resurrection they neither marie wiues, nor wiues are bestowed in mariage, but are as the Angels of God in heauen.
22:31And concerning the resurrection of the dead, haue ye not read what is spoken vuto you of God, saying,
22:32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the liuing.
22:33And when the multitude heard it, they were astonied at his doctrine.
22:34But when the Pharises had heard, that he had put the Sadduces to silence, they assembled together.
22:35And one of them, which was an expounder of the Lawe, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
22:36Master, which is ye great commandement in the Lawe?
22:37Iesus sayd to him, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soule, and with all thy minde.
22:38This is the first and the great commandement.
22:39And the second is like vnto this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
22:40On these two commandements hangeth the whole Lawe, and the Prophets.
22:41While the Pharises were gathered together, Iesus asked them,
22:42Saying, What thinke ye of Christ? whose sonne is he? They sayd vnto him, Dauids.
22:43He sayd vnto them, How then doeth Dauid in spirit call him Lord, saying,
22:44The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footestoole?
22:45If then Dauid call him Lord, howe is he his sonne?
22:46And none could answere him a worde, neither durst any from that day foorth aske him any moe questions.

22:1And Iesus answered and spake vnto them agayne in similitudes sayinge.
22:2The kingdome of heve is lyke vnto a certayne kynge which maryed his sonne
22:3and sent forth his servantes to call them that were byd to the weddinge and they wolde not come.
22:4Ageyne he sent forth other servauntes sayinge: Tell them which are bydden: beholde I have prepared my dynner myne oxen and my fatlinges are kylled and all thinges are redy come vnto the mariage.
22:5But they made light of it and went their wayes: one to his ferme place another about his marchaundise
22:6the remnaunt toke his seruantes and intreated them vngodly and slewe them.
22:7When the kinge hearde that he was wroth and send forth his warryers and distroyed those murtherers and brent vp their cyte.
22:8Then sayde he to his servauutes: the weddinge was prepared. But they which were bydden were not worthy.
22:9Go ye therfore out into ye hyewayes and as many as ye finde byd them to the mariage.
22:10The seruauntes wet out into the hiewayes and gaddered to gedder as many as they coulde fynde both good and bad and ye weddinge was furnysshed with gestes.
22:11Then the kynge came in to viset the gestes and spyed there a ma which had not on a weddinge garment
22:12and sayde vnto him: frende how fortuned it that thou camest in hither and hast not on a weddyng garment? And he was eve spechlesse.
22:13Then sayde the kynge to his ministers: take and bynde hym hand and fote and caste hym into vtter darcknes there shalbe wepinge and gnasshinge of teth.
22:14For many are called and feawe be chosen.
22:15Then wet the Pharises and toke counsell how they might tagle him in his wordes.
22:16And they sent vnto him their disciples with Herodes servauntes sayinge: Master we knowe yt thou are true and teachest the waye of god trulie nether carest for eny man for thou consydrest not menes estate.
22:17Tell vs therfore: how thynkest thou? Is it lawfull to geve tribute vnto Cesar or not?
22:18Iesus perceaved their wikednes and sayde: Why tempte ye me ye ypocrites?
22:19Let me se ye tribute money. And they toke hym a peny.
22:20And he sayde vnto them: whose is this ymage and superscripcion?
22:21They sayde vnto him: Cesars. Then sayde he vnto them. Geve therfore to Cesar that which is Cesars: and geve vnto god that which is goddes.
22:22When they hearde that they marveled and lefte hym and went there waye.
22:23The same daye the Saduces came to him (which saye that there is no resurrcecion) and axed him
22:24sayinge: Master Moses bade yf a man dye havinge no chyldre that the brother mary his wyfe and reyse vp seed vnto his brother.
22:25Ther were wt vs seven brethre and the fyrste maried and deceased wt oute yssue and lefte his wyfe vnto his brother.
22:26Lykewise the seconde and ye thryd vnto the sevethe.
22:27Laste of all the woman dyed also.
22:28Now in the resurreccion whose wyfe shall she be of the seven? For all had her.
22:29Iesus answered and sayde vnto the: ye are deceaved and vnderstonde not the scriptures nor yet the power of God.
22:30For in the resurreccion they nether mary nor are maryed: but are as the angels of God in heven.
22:31As touchynge the resurreccion of the deed: have ye not redde what is sayde vnto you of God which sayeth:
22:32I am Abrahams God and Ysaacks God and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the deed: but of the lyvinge.
22:33And when the people hearde that they were astonyed at his doctrine.
22:34When the Pharises had hearde how yt he had put the Saduces to silence they drewe to gedder
22:35and one of them which was a doctoure of lawe axed a question teptinge h m and sayinge:
22:36Master which is ye chefe comaundment in the lawe?
22:37Iesus sayde vnto him: love the Lorde thy God wt all thine herte with all thy soule and with all thy mynde.
22:38This is the fyrst and the chefe comaundement.
22:39And ther is another lyke vnto this. Love thyne neghbour as thy selfe.
22:40In these two commaundemetes hange all the lawe and the Prophetes.
22:41Whyll the Pharises were gaddered togeder Iesus axed
22:42the sayinge: what thinke ye of Christ? Whose sonne is he? They sayde vnto him: the sonne of David.
22:43He sayde vnto the: how then doeth David in spirite call him Lorde sayinge?
22:44The Lorde sayde to my Lorde syt on my right honde: tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole.
22:45Yf David call him Lorde: how is he then his sonne?
22:46And none coulde answere him ageyne one worde: nether dueste eny from that daye forth axe him eny moo questions.
