10:1	& þanen he com on iudeisce endas of iordane. Ða comen eft manegeo to him. & swa swa he ge-wunede he hyo lærde eft sona.
10:2	Ða ge-neahlacten hym farisej. & him axsoden hwæðer alyfð anigen men his wif to læten. his þus fandiende.
10:3	Ða andswerede he heom. hwæt bead moyses eow.
10:4	hyo saigden. Moyses lyfde þt man write hiw-ge-dæles boc. & hyo for-leten.
10:5	Ða cwæð se hælend. for eower heorten hærdnysse he eow wrat þis be-bod.
10:6	fram frumen ge-scefte god hyo ge-worhte wæpman & wimman.
10:7	& cwæð. for þan se man for-læt his fæder and his moder. & hine his wife ge-þeot.

10:10	And eft innen huse his leorning-cnihtes hine be þam ylcen acsoden.
10:11	Ða cwæð he. swa hwilc man swa his wif for-læt & oder nymð unriht-hameð he wyrcð þurh hyo.
10:12	Ænd gyf þt wif hire were forlæt & oðerne nymð. hyo unriht-hæmeð.
10:13	Ænd hyo brohten him heore litlenges þt he his æt-rine. þa cyddan his leorning-cnihtes þam þe hyo brohten.
10:14	Ða se hælend hyo ge-seah un-wurðlice he hit for-beod & saigde heom. Lateð þa litlinges to me cumen & ne for-beode ge heom. soðlice swilcere is heofone rice.
10:15	Soðlice ic segge eow swa hwilc swa godes rice ne on-fehð swa swa litling ne maig he on þt.
10:16	Ða be-clepte he hyo & his hande ofer hyo settende bletsede hyo.
10:17	And þa he on weige eode sum hym to arn & ge-begden cneowen to-foren hym cwæð & bæð hine. La gode lareow hwæt do ic þæt ic ece lyf age.
10:18	Þa cwæð se hælend hwi saigst þu me godne; nis nan man god buton god ane.
10:19	Canst þu þa be-bode. ne unriht-hæm þu. ne slyh þu. ne stel þu. ne sege þu lease ge-witnysse. fæcen ne do þu. wurðe þine fæder & þine moder.
10:20	Ða andswerede he gode. lareow eall þis ic heold of minre geogeðe.
10:21	Se hælend hine þa behealdende hyfode (sic) & saide hym. An þing þe is wane. syle eal þæt þu age. & syle hit þearfen þanne hafst þu þt goldhord on heofene. & cum & folge me.
10:22	& for þan worde he wæs unge-rot. & ferde gneorgende for þan he hæfde mycele ehte.
10:23	Ða cwæð se hælend to hys leorning-cnihten hine be-seonde. swiðe earfedlice on godes rice gað þa þe feoh hæbbeð.
10:24	Ða forteden his leorning-cnihtes be his worden. Eft se hælend heom andswerede & quoth. Eala chyld. swiðe earfodlice þa þe on hire feo ge-truwiad gad on godes rice.
10:25	eaðere is olfende to farene þurh nædle þyrl. þanne se rice & se welege on godes rice ga.
10:26	Hyo þas þe ma be-twexe heom wundreden & cwæðen. & hwa mæig beon hal.
10:27	þa be-heold se hælend hyo & cwæð. Mid mannen hit is un-eaðelic. ac na mid gode. Ealle þing mid gode synde eaðelice.
10:28	Þa on-gan petrus cweðen. Witodlice we ealle þing for-leten. & folgeden þe.
10:29	Ða andswerede hym se hælend. Nis nan þe his hus for-læt. oððe ge-broðre. oððe swuster. oððe fæder oððe moder. oððe bearn. oððe aceres for me. & for þam godspelle.
10:30	þe hundfeald ne on-fo. nu on þisse tide. hus & broðre & swustre. & fæder & moder & bearn. & æceres. mid ehtnyssen & on to-wearde wurlde ece lyf.
10:31	Manege fyrmeste byð ytemeste. & ytemeste fermeste.

10:33	þt we nu astigeð to ierusalem. & mannes sune beoð ge-seald sacerde ealdren & boceren. & ealdren & hyo hine deaðe ge-nyþerieð. & hyo hine þeoden sylleð.
10:34	& hine bysemeriad. & hyo hym on spæteð. & hine swingeð. & of-sleað hine. & he arist on þam þridðen daige.
10:35	Him þa ge-neahlahten to Iacobus & Iohannes zebedeus sunu. & cwæðen. Lareow we willeð þt þu us do swa hwæt swa we byddað.
10:36	Þa cwæð he hwæt wille gyt þt ic inc do.
10:37	Þa cwæðen hyo. Syle unc þt wit sitten on þinen wuldre. an on þinen swiðren healfe. & oder on þinen winstren.
10:38	Ða cwæð se hælend. gyt nyten hwæt gyt byddað. Mage gyt drincen þanne calix þe ic drinke. & beon ge-fulled on þam fulluhte þe ic beo ge-fullod.
10:39	Ða cwæðen hyo wit magen. Þa cwæð se hælend. gyt drincað þanne calicx. þe ich drince. gyt beoð ge-fullod þa fulluhte þe ic beo ge-fullod.
10:40	Soðlice nis hit na min inc to sylle þæt gyt sitten on mine swiðren healfe. odðe on þa wynstren. ac þam þe hit ge-gearewod is.
10:41	Þa ge-bulge þa teone hyo be Iacobe & johanne.
10:42	Ða cleopede se hælend hyo & cwæð. Wite ge þt þa þe on þeoden ealderscype hæbbeð þæt heore ealdres anweald ofer hyo hæbbeð.
10:43	Soðlice on eow hit nis swa. ac swa hwilc swa wile mid eow eldest beon. se beoð eower þen.
10:44	& se on eow wile fermest beon. se beoð ealre þeow.
10:45	Soðlice ne com mannes sune. þæt him man þenode. ac þt he þenode. & his sawle sealde for manegre alysendnysse.
10:46	Ða comen hyo to jerico. & he ferde fram ierico & his leorning-cnihtes & micel manege & timeus sunu bartimeus sunu sæt blind wið þanne weig wædle.
10:47	þa he ge-herde þt hit wæs se nazareisca hælend. he on-gan clepien. & cwæðen. Hælend dauiðes sune ge-miltse me.
10:48	Þa buden him manege þæt he swigeden. he cleopede þa þæs þe ma. miltse me dauiðes sune.
10:49	Ða æt-stod se hælend & het hine clepian. Ða saigden hyo þam blinden. beo ge-heortra & aris. se hælend þe clypað.
10:50	he þa his reaf awarp. & forð ræsde. & to him com.
10:51	Ða cwæð se hælend. hwæt wilt þu þæt ic þe do. þa cwæð he. lareow. þt ic ge-seo.
10:52	þa cwæð se hælend to him. Ga; þin ge-leafe. þe halne ge-dyde. & he sona ge-seah. & hym felgde on weige.


10:1	And he arose from thence, and went into the coastes of Iudea by the farre side of Iordan, and the people resorted vnto him againe, and as he was wont, he taught them againe.
10:2	Then the Pharises came and asked him, if it were lawfull for a man to put away his wife, and tempted him.
10:3	And he answered, and sayde vnto them, What did Moses commaund you?
10:4	And they sayd, Moses suffered to write a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away.
10:5	Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, For the hardnesse of your heart he wrote this precept vnto you.
10:6	But at the beginning of the creation God made them male and female:
10:7	For this cause shall man leaue his father and mother, and cleaue vnto his wife.
10:8	And they twaine shalbe one flesh: so that they are no more twaine, but one flesh.
10:9	Therefore, what God hath coupled together, let not man separate.
10:10	And in the house his disciples asked him againe of that matter.
10:11	And he sayd vnto them, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife and marrie another, committeth adulterie against her.
10:12	And if a woman put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adulterie.
10:13	Then they brought litle children to him, that he should touch them, and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14	But when Iesus sawe it, he was displeased, and said to them, Suffer the litle children to come vnto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
10:15	Verely I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall not receiue the kingdome of God as a litle childe, he shall not enter therein.
10:16	And he tooke them vp in his armes, and put his hands vpon them, and blessed them.
10:17	And when hee was gone out on the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I doe, that I may possesse eternall life?
10:18	Iesus sayde to him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, euen God.
10:19	Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steale. Thou shalt not beare false witnesse. Thou shalt hurt no man. Honour thy father and mother.
10:20	Then he answered, and said to him, Master, all these things I haue obserued from my youth.
10:21	And Iesus looked vpon him, and loued him, and sayde vnto him, One thing is lacking vnto thee. Go and sell all that thou hast, and giue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, follow me, and take vp the crosse.
10:22	But hee was sad at that saying, and went away sorowfull: for he had great possessions.
10:23	And Iesus looked round about, and sayd vnto his disciples, Howe hardly doe they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!
10:24	And his disciples were afraide at his words. But Iesus answered againe, and sayd vnto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches, to enter into the kingdome of God!
10:25	It is easier for a camel to goe through the eye of a needle, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.
10:26	And they were much more astonied, saying with themselues, Who then can be saued?
10:27	But Iesus looked vpon them, and sayd, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
10:28	Then Peter began to say vnto him, Loe, we haue forsaken all, and haue folowed thee.
10:29	Iesus answered, and sayd, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath forsaken house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my sake and the Gospels,
10:30	But he shall receiue an hundred folde, now at this present, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come, eternall life.
10:31	But many that are first, shall be last, and the last, first.
10:32	And they were in the way going vp to Hierusalem, and Iesus went before them and they were troubled, and as they followed, they were afraide, and Iesus tooke the twelue againe, and began to tell them what things should come vnto him,
10:33	Saying, Beholde, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and the Sonne of man shall be deliuered vnto the hie Priests, and to the Scribes, and they shall condemne him to death, and shall deliuer him to the Gentiles.
10:34	And they shall mocke him, and scourge him, and spit vpon him, and kill him: but the third day he shall rise againe.
10:35	Then Iames and Iohn the sonnes of Zebedeus came vnto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest doe for vs that we desire.
10:36	And he sayd vnto them, What would ye I should doe for you?
10:37	And they said to him, Graunt vnto vs, that we may sit, one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left hand in thy glory.
10:38	But Iesus sayd vnto them, Ye knowe not what ye aske. Can ye drinke of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptized with the baptisme that I shall be baptized with?
10:39	And they said vnto him, We can. But Iesus sayd vnto them, Ye shall drinke in deede of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptized with the baptisme wherewith I shalbe baptized:
10:40	But to sit at my right hand, and at my left, is not mine to giue, but it shalbe giuen to them for whome it is prepared.
10:41	And when the ten heard that, they began to disdaine at Iames and Iohn.
10:42	But Iesus called them vnto him, and sayd to them, Ye know that they which are princes among the Gentiles, haue domination ouer them, and they that be great among them, exercise authoritie ouer them.
10:43	But it shall not be so among you: but whosoeuer will be great among you, shall be your seruant.
10:44	And whosoeuer will be chiefe of you, shall be the seruant of all.
10:45	For euen the Sonne of man came not to be serued, but to serue, and to giue his life for the raunsome of many.
10:46	Then they came to Iericho: and as he went out of Iericho with his disciples, and a great multitude, Bartimeus the sonne of Timeus, a blinde man, sate by the wayes side, begging.
10:47	And when hee heard that it was Iesus of Nazareth, he began to crye, and to say, Iesus the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:48	And many rebuked him, because he should holde his peace: but hee cryed much more, O Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:49	Then Iesus stood still, and commanded him to be called: and they called the blind, saying vnto him, Be of good comfort: arise, he calleth thee.
10:50	So he threwe away his cloke, and rose, and came to Iesus.
10:51	And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, What wilt thou that I doe vnto thee? And the blinde sayd vnto him, Lord, that I may receiue sight.
10:52	Then Iesus sayde vnto him, Goe thy way: thy fayth hath saued thee. And by and by, he receiued his sight, and folowed Iesus in the way.

10:6	But at the fyrste creacion God made the man and woman.
10:7	And for this thinges sake shall ma leve his father and mother and bide by his wyfe
10:8	and they twayne shalbe one flesshe. So then are they now not twayne but one flesshe.
10:9	Therfore what God hath cuppled let not ma separat.
10:10	And in the housse his disciples axed him agayne of yt matter.
10:11	And he sayde vnto them: Whosoever putteth awaye his wyfe and maryeth another breaketh wedlocke to her warde.
10:12	And yf a woman forsake her husband and be maryed to another she comitteth advoutrie.
10:13	And they brought chyldren to him that he should touche the. And his disciples rebuked thoose that brought the.
10:14	When Iesus sawe that he was displeased and sayd to the: Suffre the chyldre to come vnto me and forbid the not. For of suche is ye kyngdome of God.
10:15	Verely I saye vnto you whosoever shall not receave ye kyngdome of God as a chylde he shall not entre therin.
10:16	And he toke the vp in his armes and put his hondes vpon them and blessed the.
10:17	And when he was come in to the waye ther came one runninge and kneled to him and axed him: good master what shall I do that I maye enheret eternall lyfe?
10:18	Iesus sayde to him: why callest thou me good? There is no ma good but one which is God.
10:19	Thou knowest the comaundementes: breake not matrimony: kyll not: steale not: bere not falce wytnes: defraude no man: honoure thy father and mother.
10:20	He answered and sayde to him: master all these I have observed fro my youth.
10:21	Iesus behelde him and had a favour to him and sayde vnto him: one thynge is lackinge vnto the. Goo and sell all that thou hast and geve to the povre and thou shalt have treasure in heven and come and folowe me and take vp thy crosse.
10:22	But he was discuforted with yt sayinge and wet awaye morninge for he had greate possessions.
10:23	And Iesus loked rounde aboute and sayde vnto his disciples: what an harde thinge is it for them that have riches to entre into the kyngdome of God.
10:24	And his disciples were astonneyd at his wordes. But Iesus answered agayne and sayde vnto them: chyldre how harde is it for them that trust in riches to entre in to the kyngdome of God.
10:25	It is easyer for a camell to go thorowe ye eye of an nedle then for a riche man to entre into the kyngdome of God.
10:26	And they were astonnyed out of measure sayinge betwene them selves: who then can be saved?
10:27	Iesus loked vpon them and sayde: with men it is vnpossible but not with God: for with God all thynges are possible.
10:28	And Peter begane to saye vnto him: Lo we have forsaken all and have folowed the.
10:29	Iesus answered and sayde: Verely I saye vnto you ther is no man that forsaketh housse or brethren or sisters or father or mother or wyfe other chyldren or londes for my sake and the gospelles
10:30	which shall not receave an houndred foolde nowe in this lyfe: houses and brethren and sisters and mothers and chyldren and londes with persecucions: and in the worlde to come eternall lyfe.
10:31	Many that are fyrst shalbe last: and the last fyrst.
10:32	And they were in ye waye goinge vp to Ierusalem. And Iesus wet before them: and they were amased and as they folowed were affrayde. And Iesus toke ye .xii. agayne and begane to tell the what thinges shuld happe vnto him.
10:33	Beholde we goo vp to Ierusalem and the sonne of man shalbe delyvered vnto the hye preestes and vnto the Scribes: and they shall condempne him to deeth and shall delyvre him to the gentyls:
10:34	and they shall mocke hym and scourge him and spit vpo hym and kyll him. And the thirde daye he shall ryse agayne.
10:35	And then Iames and Iohn ye sonnes of zebede came vnto him sayinge: master we wolde that thou shuldest do for vs what soever we desyre.
10:36	He sayde vnto them: what wolde ye I shuld do vnto you?
10:37	They sayd to him: graut vnto vs that we maye sitte one on thy right honde and the other on thy lyfte honde in thy glory.
10:38	But Iesus sayd vnto the: Ye wot not what ye axe. Can ye dryncke of the cup that I shall dryncke of and be baptised in ye baptime that I shalbe baptised in?
10:39	And they sayde vnto him: that we can. Iesus sayde vnto them: ye shall dryncke of the cup that I shall dryncke of and be baptised with the baptyme that I shalbe baptised in:
10:40	but to sit on my right honde and on my lyfte honde ys not myne to geve but to them for whom it is prepared.
10:41	And when the .x. hearde that they bega to disdayne at Iames and Iohn.
10:42	But Iesus called the vnto him and sayde to them: ye knowe that they which seme to beare rule amonge the gentyls raygne as lordes over the. And they that be greate amoge them exercyse auctorite over them.
10:43	So shall it not be amonge you but whosoever of you wilbe greate amoge you shalbe youre minister.
10:44	And whosoever wilbe chefe shalbe servaunt vnto all.
10:45	For eve the sonne of man came not to be ministred vnto: but to minister and to geve his lyfe for the redempcion of many.
10:46	And they came to Hierico. And as he went oute of Hierico with his disciples and a greate nobre of people: Barthimeus ye sonne of Thimeus which was blinde sate by ye hye wayes syde begginge.
10:47	And when he hearde that it was Iesus of Nazareth he began to crye and to saye: Iesus the sonne of David have mercy on me.
10:48	And many rebuked him yt he shuld holde is peace. But he cryed the moore a greate deale thou sonne of David have mercy on me.
10:49	And Iesus stode still and commaunded hym to be called. And they called the blinde sayinge vnto him: Be of good conforte: ryse he calleth the.
10:50	And he threwe awaye his clooke and roose and came to Iesus.
10:51	And Iesus answered and sayde vnto hym: what wilt thou that I do vnto the? The blynde sayde vnto hym: master that I myght see.
10:52	Iesus sayde vnto him: goo thy waye thy faith hath saved the. And by and by he receaved his sight and folowed Iesus in the waye.
