5:1	Soðlice wæs ge-worðen þa þa manege him to comen þæt hyo godes word ge-hyrden. he stod wið þane mere genesareth.
5:2	& he ge-seah twa scipe standende wið þanne mere. Ða fixeres eoden & wexon heore nett.
5:3	He þa astigende on an scyp; þæt wæs symones. bed hine þæt he hit lithwan fram lande tuugen. & on þam scype sittende he lærde þa manega.
5:4	Ða he spræcen ge-swac he cwæð to symone. Teoh hit on deopan & læteð eowre nett on þanne fisc-wær.

5:18	Ænd þa bæren men on anen bedde enne man; se wæs lame.
5:19	& hyo ne mihten hine in-bringen & aleggen be-foran hym; for þare maniga þe mid þam hælende wæs. Ða astigen hyo up on þanne rof. & þurh þa watelas hine mid þam bedde asende be-foran þam halende.
5:20	Ða he ge-seah heora ge-leafe. he cwæð. La man þe synd þine sinne for-gefene.
5:21	Ða agunnen þencen þa bokeres & farisei & cwæðen. hwæt is þes þe her sprecd woffunga. hwa maig senna for-gefen buton god ane.
5:22	Ða seo hælend ge-cneow heora ge-þances; he andsweriende cwæð to heom. Hwæt þence ge on eowre heorten
5:23	hwæðer is eþere to cweðene þe synt þine senne for-gefene; hwaðer to cweðene aris & ga.
5:24	þæt ge witen þæt mannes sune on eordan anweald hafð synne to for-gefena. Ænd he sægde þam lamen. þe ich segge aris; nym þin bed & ga on þin hus.
5:25	& he sone be-foren heom aras; & nam þæt he on læig & to his huse eode. & god wuldrede.
5:26	& hyo ealle wundredon & god mærsedon & wæren mid eige ge-fylde. & cwæðen soðes we to-daig wundre ge-seagen.
5:27	Þa æfter þan he ut-eode. & ge-seah publicanum þe wæs oðer name leuj ge-haten. æt cheap-scamele sittende. & he cwæð to hym felge me.
5:28	& he hym þa felgede. & ealle hys þing for-let.
5:29	Ænd leuj dyde him michele ge-beorscipe on his huse. & þær wæs mycele manege manfulra & oðre þe mid him sæton.
5:30	Þa murcneden þa farisei & þa bokeres. & cwæðen to his leorning-cnihten. hwi æte ge. & drinkeð mid manfullen & senfullen.
5:31	Ða andswerede se hælend & cwæð to heom. Ne be-þurfen læches þa þe hale synde. ac þa þe un-hæle hæbbeð.
5:32	Ne com ich rihtwise to clepian. ac synfulle on deadbote.
5:33	Ða cwæðen hyo to hym. hwi fæsted iohannes leorningcnihtes ge-lomlice & halsunge doð. & eal swa fariseen. & þine æteð & drinceð;
5:34	Þa cwæð he. cwedst þu magen þas bredgumen bearn fæsten. swa lange swa se bredgume mid heom ys.
5:35	Soðlice þa dages cumeð þanne se bredgume heom beoð aferred. þanne fæsted hyo on þan dagen.
5:36	Ða sæde he heom an bispell. Ne asende nan man scyp on neowan reafe. on eald reaf elles þæt neowe slyt. & se neowe scyp ne helpd þan ealden.
5:37	Ne nan man ne synt niwe win on ealde butta elles þæt neowa win breceð þa butta & þæt win beoð agoten & þa butta for-wurðed.
5:38	Ac neowe win is to asendenne on neowe butta þanne beoð þa butte ge-healdenne.
5:39	& ne drincð nan man eald win. & wille sona þæt neowe he cweð þæt ealde is betere.


5:1	Then it came to passe, as the people preassed vpon him to heare the word of God, that he stoode by the lake of Gennesaret,
5:2	And sawe two shippes stand by the lakes side, but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nettes.
5:3	And he entred into one of the ships, which was Simons, and required him that he would thrust off a litle from the land: and he sate downe, and taught the people out of the ship.
5:4	Now when he had left speaking, he sayd vnto Simon, Lanch out into the deepe, and let downe your nettes to make a draught.
5:5	Then Simon answered, and sayd vnto him, Master, we haue trauailed sore all night, and haue taken nothing: neuerthelesse at thy worde I will let downe the net.
5:6	And when they had so done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, so that their net brake.
5:7	And they beckened to their parteners, which were in the other ship, that they shoulde come and helpe them, who came then, and filled both the ships, that they did sinke.
5:8	Now when Simon Peter saw it, he fel down at Iesus knees, saying, Lord, go from me: for I am a sinfull man.
5:9	For he was vtterly astonied, and all that were with him, for the draught of fishes which they tooke.
5:10	And so was also Iames and Iohn the sonnes of Zebedeus, which were companions with Simon. Then Iesus sayde vnto Simon, Feare not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
5:11	And when they had brought the ships to land, they forsooke all, and followed him.
5:12	Nowe it came to passe, as he was in a certaine citie, beholde, there was a man full of leprosie, and when he sawe Iesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me cleane.
5:13	So he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will, be thou cleane. And immediately the leprosie departed from him.
5:14	And he commanded him that hee should tell it no man: but Go, sayth he, and shew thy selfe to the Priest, and offer for thy clensing, as Moses hath commanded, for a witnes vnto them.
5:15	But so much more went there a fame abroad of him, and great multitudes came together to heare, and to be healed of him of their infirmities.
5:16	But he kept himselfe apart in the wildernes, and prayed.
5:17	And it came to passe, on a certaine day, as he was teaching, that the Pharises and doctours of the Law sate by, which were come out of euery towne of Galile, and Iudea, and Hierusalem, and the power of the Lord was in him to heale them.
5:18	Then beholde, men brought a man lying in a bed, which was taken with a palsie, and they sought meanes to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
5:19	And when they could not finde by what way they might bring him in, because of the preasse, they went vp on the house, and let him downe through the tyling, bed and all, in the middes before Iesus.
5:20	And when he sawe their faith, he sayd vnto him, Man, thy sinnes are forgiuen thee.
5:21	Then the Scribes and the Pharises began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? who can forgiue sinnes, but God onely?
5:22	But when Iesus perceiued their reasoning, he answered, and sayd vnto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
5:23	Whether is easier to say, Thy sinnes are forgiuen thee, or to say, Rise and walke?
5:24	But that ye may know that that Sonne of man hath authoritie to forgiue sinnes in earth, (he sayd vnto the sicke of the palsie) I say to thee, Arise: take vp thy bed, and goe to thine house.
5:25	And immediatly he rose vp before them, and tooke vp his bed whereon he lay, and departed to his owne house, praysing God.
5:26	And they were all amased, and praysed God, and were filled with feare, saying, Doutlesse we haue seene strange things to day.
5:27	And after that, he went foorth and sawe a Publicane named Leui, sitting at the receite of custome, and sayd vnto him, Follow me.
5:28	And he left all, rose vp, and folowed him.
5:29	Then Leui made him a great feast in his owne house, where there was a great company of Publicanes, and of other that sate at table with them.
5:30	But they that were Scribes and Pharises among them, murmured against his disciples, saying, Why eate ye and drinke ye with Publicanes and sinners?
5:31	Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, They that are whole, neede not the Physician, but they that are sicke.
5:32	I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
5:33	Then they said vnto him, Why do the disciples of Iohn fast often, and pray, and the disciples of the Pharises also, but thine eate and drinke?
5:34	And he said vnto them, Can ye make the children of the wedding chamber to fast, as long as the bridegrome is with them?
5:35	But the dayes will come, euen when the bridegrome shalbe taken away from them: then shall they fast in those dayes.
5:36	Againe he spake also vnto them a parable, No man putteth a piece of a newe garment into an olde vesture: for then the newe renteth it, and the piece taken out of the newe, agreeth not with the olde.
5:37	Also no man powreth newe wine into olde vessels: for then ye new wine wil breake the vessels, and it will runne out, and the vessels will perish:
5:38	But newe wine must be powred into newe vessels: so both are preserued.
5:39	Also no man that drinketh olde wine, straightway desireth newe: for he sayth, The olde is more profitable.

5:4	When he had leeft speakynge he sayde vnto Simon: Launche out in to the depe and let slippe youre nettes to make a draught
5:5	And Simon answered and sayde to him: Master we have labored all nyght and have taken nothinge. Neverthelater at thy worde I will loose forthe the net.
5:6	And when they had so done they inclosed a greate multitude of fisshes. And their net brake:
5:7	but they made signes to their felowes which were in the other ship that they shuld come and helpe the And they came: and filled bothe the shippes that they soncke agayne.
5:8	When Simon Peter sawe that he fell doune at Iesus knees sayinge: Lorde goo
5:9	fro me for I am a synfull man. For he was vtterly astonyed and all that were wt him at ye draught of fisshe which they toke:
5:10	and so was also Iames and Iohn ye sonnes of zebede which were parteners wt Simon. And Iesus sayde vnto Simon: feare not fro hence forthe thou shalt catche men.
5:11	And they brought the shippes to londe and forsoke all and folowed him.
5:12	And it fortuned as he was in a certayne cite: beholde ther was a man full of leprosy: and when he had spied Iesus he fell on his face and besought him sayinge: Lorde yf thou wilt thou canst make me cleane.
5:13	And he strethed forth ye hond and touched him sayinge: I will be thou cleane. And immediatly the leprosy departed from him.
5:14	And he warned him that he shuld tell no man: but that he shuld goo and shewe him selfe to the Preste and offer for his clensynge accordinge as Moses commaundement was for a witnes vnto them.
5:15	But so moche the moare went ther a fame abroade of him and moche people cam to geder to heare and to be healed of him of their infirmities.
5:16	And he kepte him silfe aparte in ye wildernesses and gave him silfe to prayer.
5:17	And it happened on a certayne daye that he taught: and ther sate the pharises: and docturs of lawe which were come out of all ye tounes of Galile Iurie and Hierusalem. And the power of the Lorde was to heale the.

5:22	When Iesus perceaved their thoughtes he answered and sayde vnto them: What thinke ye in youre hertes?
5:23	Whether is easyar to saye thy synnes are forgeve the or to saye: rise and walke?
5:24	But that ye maye knowe that the sonne of ma hath power to forgeve synnes on erth he sayde vnto ye sicke of the palsie: I saye to the aryse take vp thy beed and go home to thy housse.
5:25	And immediatly he rose vp before them and toke vp his beed where on he laye and departed to his awne housse praysinge God.
5:26	And they were all amased and they lauded God and were filled with feare sayinge: We have sene straunge thynges to daye.
5:27	And after that he went forthe and sawe a Publican named Levi sittinge at the receyte of custome and sayde vnto him: folow me.
5:28	And he leeft all roose vp and folowed him.
5:29	And that same Levi made him a greate feaste at home in his awne housse. And ther was a greate copany of publicans and of other that sate at meate with him.
5:30	And the Scribes and Pharises murmured agaynst his disciples sayinge: Why eate ye and drinke ye with publicas and synners?
5:31	Iesus answered and sayde vnto the: They yt are whole nede not of ye phisicion: but they yt are sicke.
5:32	I came not to call ye rightewes but synners to repentauce.
5:33	Then they sayde vnto him: Why do the disciples of Iohn fast often and praye and the disciples of ye Pharises also: and thine eate and drinke?
5:34	And he sayde vnto them: Can ye make ye chyldren of the weddinge fast as longe as ye brydgrome is present with the?
5:35	The dayes will come whe the brydgrome shalbe take awaye from them: then shall they fast in those dayes
5:36	Then he spake vnto them in a similitude: No ma putteth a pece of a newe garment in to an olde vesture: for yf he do: then breaketh he the newe and the pece that was taken out of the newe agreeth not wt the olde.
5:37	Also no ma poureth newe wyne into olde vessels. For yf he do the newe wyne breaketh the vessels and runneth out it silfe and the vessels perisshe:
5:38	But newe wyne must be poured into newe vessels and bothe are preserved.
5:39	Also no man yt drinketh olde wine strayght waye can awaye with newe for he sayeth ye olde is plesauter.
