8:1	Syððon wæs ge-worðen þæt he ferde þurh þa ceastren. & þa ceastle godes rice predikende & bodiende. & hyo twelf mide.
8:2	And sume wif þe wæren ge-helde of awweregeden gasten & untrumnyssen. sye magdalenisce Marie of þare seofan deofle ut-eoden.
8:3	& iohann chuzan wif herodes ge-refen; & susanna & manega oþre þe him of hyra spede þenedon.
8:4	Soðlice þa mycel manige com & of þa ceastren to hym efstum (sic); he saigde heom an bispel.
8:5	Sum man hys sæd seow. þa he þæt seow sum feoll wið þanne weig & warð for-treden. & heofene fugeles hit fræton.
8:6	And sum feoll ofer þanne stan & hit for-scranc for-þam-þe hyt wæten næfde.
8:7	& sum feol on þa þornas; & þa þornes hit for-þrysmeden.
8:8	And sum feoll on gode eorþan. & worhte hund-fealddne wæstme. Þa clypede he & cwæð. Ge-here se þe earen hæbbe.
8:9	þa axseden hine hys leorning-cnihtes hwæt þt bispel wære.
8:10	Ða cwæð he eow is ge-seald þt ge witen godes rices ge-ryne. & oðren on bi-spellen þaet hyo ge-seonde ne ge-seagen & ge-hyrende ne on-geoton.
8:11	Soðlice þis is þæt bispell. þæt sæd is godes word.
8:12	þa þe synd wið þanne weig. þæt synde þa þe ge-hyred. seoððen se deofel kymð and æt-briht þt word. of heora heortan þæt hio þurh þane ge-leafen hale ne ge-wurðað.
8:13	Þa þe sinde ofer þanne stan; þa þæt word mid ge-fean on-foð. & þa næbbed wertrumen for-þan-þe hyo hwilon ge-leafen and awakieð on þare costnunge timen.
8:14	Þæt sæð þt feoll on þa þornes þæt synde þa þe ge-hered. & of caren & of welen & of luston þys lifes synde for-þrysmede & nænne wæstme ne bringeð.
8:15	Þæt feoll on þa goden eorðan. þt synde þa þe on godere & on selestre heortan ge-herende þt word healdeð ænd wæstme on ge-þilde bringed.
8:16	Ne ofer-wercð nan man mid fæte his on-ælde leoht-fæt; oððe under beoð aset. ac ofer candel-stef asett. þæt þa ingangende þæt leoht ge-seon.
8:17	Soðlice nis nan þing swa dygele þæt ne seo ge-swutelod. ne be-hyðð; þæt ne syo cuð. & open.
8:18	Warniað hu ge ge-hyren; þam beod ge-seald ðe hæfeð. & swa hwilc þe næfeð þt he wene þt he hæbbe him beoð afirred.
8:19	Hys moder & his ge-broðre him to comen. & hio ne mihte hine for þare manige ge-neoh-sian.
8:20	Þa wæs him ge-cydeð. Ðin moder & þine ge-brodre standeð her ute willeð þe ge-seon.
8:21	Þa cwæd he to heom. min moder & mine ge-brodre synde þa þe ge-hireð & doð godes word.
8:22	Soðlice anen daige wæs ge-worðen þa þe he on scyp eode. & his leorning-cnihtes; þa cwæd he to heom. Vton seiglien ofer þisne mere. & hyo segledon þa.
8:23	þa þe hyo reowan þa slep he. Þa com windj east & hyo forteden.
8:24	Þa ge-nehlahten hyo him to & cwæðen hlaford we forwurðeð. Ða aras he & þreadde þane wind. & þas wæteres reðnysse. Ða ge-swac se wind & wærð mycel smoltnysse.
8:25	Þa cwæð se hælend hwær is eower ge-leafe. Þa andreddon hio & wundredon. end be-twuxe heom cwæðen. Wenst þu hwæt is þes. þæt he be-beot windon. & sæ; & hy him hersumieð.
8:26	Ða reowen hy to gerasenorum rice. þt is foren on-gean galileam.
8:27	Ða he to lande com; him agen arn sum man se hæfde deofel-seocnysse lange tide. & næs mid nanen reafe ge-scrid. & ne mihte on huse ge-wunian ac on byregenen.
8:28	Þa he ge-seah þanne hælend he astrehte hine to-foren him & cwæð. michelere stefne hremende. Hwæt is me & þe la hælend þas hehestan godes sune. Ic halsige þe þæt þu ne ðreage me.
8:29	Þa bed he þam unclænen gaste. þæt he of þam men ferde. Soðlice lange tide he hine grap & he wæs mid raketeagen ge-bunden & mid fot-copsen ge-healden. & to-borstenen benden he wæs fram deofle on westen ge-lædd.
8:30	Ða axoden se hælend hine hwæt is þin name. Ða cwæð he legio; þæt is on ure ge-þeode eored; for-þan-þe manege deofle on hine eodon.
8:31	Ða bæden hyo hine þæt he heom ne bude þt hy on grund ne be-scuton.
8:32	And þær wæs mycel heord swine on þam munte læsiendre. Ða bæden hio þæt he lefde heom on þam gan; þa lefde he heom.
8:33	Þa eoden hyo of þam menn on þa swin. þa ferde se heord michelen raese on þane mere. & warð þær adruncen.
8:34	Þa þa heorden þæt ge-seagen þa flugen hyo & kyddan on þa ceastre & on þa tunan.
8:35	Ða eoden hio ut þæt hyo ge-seagen þt þær ge-worðen wæs. Þa comen hyo to þam hælende þa funden hyo þanne man þe deofel of eode ge-scridne & halen mode æt his fote. & hyo adredden heom.
8:36	Ða kyddan heom þa þe ge-seagen hu he wæs hal ge-worden of þam heorde.
8:37	Ða bæd hine eall syo manege þas rice gerasenorum þt he fram heom ge-wite. for þam hyo micelen eige ge-hæfte wæren. Ða wende he on scype on-gen.
8:38	Ða bæð hine se man ðe se deofel of eode þæt he mid hym wunede. Þa for-let se hælend hine & cwæð to hym.
8:39	wend to þinen huse. & kyd hu mycel god þe ge-don hæfð. Þa ferde he in to eall þa ceastre & kydde hu mycel se hælend him ge-don hæfde.
8:40	Soðlice wæs ge-worðen þa se hælend agen com seo manege hine onfeng. ealle hyo on-bidan hys.
8:41	Ænd þa com an man þæs name wæs jairus; se wæs þare ge-samnunge ealdor. Þa feoll he to þæs hælendes foten. & bæd hine þæt he ferde to his huse;
8:42	for-þan he hæfde ane dohter neoh on twelf wintre & syo forð-ferde. Ða ge-byrede hit. þa he ferde of þam manegen he wæs of-þrungen.
8:43	Ða wæs sum wif of blodrine twelf gear. syo for-dælde on læces eall þæt hyo ahte. & ne mihte hire þeah of anygen beon ge-hæld.
8:44	Ða ge-nehlahte hyo wið-æften. & æt-ran hys reafes flned (sic). Ða æt-stod sone þas blodes rine.
8:45	Ða cwæð se hælend. hwæt ys se þe me ætran. þa hyo ealle æt-soken; þa cwæð petrus & þa þe mid hym wæren. eale hlaford þas manigeo þe þringað. & ge-swenced. & þu sægst hwa æt-ran me.
8:46	Þa cwæð he sum me æt-ran. ic wiste þæt maing me of eode.
8:47	Ða þæt wif ge-seah þæt hit him næs derne; hyo com forð. & astrehte hyo to his foten & ge-swutelede be-foren ealle folce. for hwilcen þingen hyo hine æt-hran. & hu hyo warð sone hall.
8:48	Ða cwæð he to hire. Dohter þin ge-leafe þe hal ge-dyde. ga nu on sibbe.
8:49	Him þa gyt sprecenden þa com sum man to þare ge-samnenge ealdre & cwæð to him; ne drece þu hine.
8:50	Ða se hælend þæt word ge-hyrde he andswerede þas mædenes fader. Ne on-dræð þu þe. ge-lef witodlice. & hyo beod hal.
8:51	Ænd þa he to þan huse com; ne let he nenne mid him in-gän buton petrum & Iohannem & Iacobum. & þas mædenes fæder & hire moder.
8:52	Ða weopen hyo ealle & heofodon hyo. Ða cwæð he ne wepe ge. soðlice nis þis mæden dead ac hyo slepð.
8:53	þa tælden hyo hine. & wiston þæt hyo deað wes.
8:54	Ða nam he hire hand & cwæð. Mæden þe ic segge aris.
8:55	Ða ge-hwarp hire gast agen & hyo sona aras. & he het hire syllan æten.
8:56	Ða wundreden hire mages. þa bed he þan þæt hyo hit nanen menn ne sægdon. þæt þær ge-don wæs.


8:1	And it came to passe afterwarde, that hee himselfe went through euery citie and towne, preaching and publishing the kingdome of God, and the twelue were with him,
8:2	And certaine women, which were healed of euill spirites, and infirmities, as Mary which was called Magdalene, out of whom went seuen deuils,
8:3	And Ioanna the wife of Chuza Herods steward, and Susanna, and many other which ministred vnto him of their substance.
8:4	Nowe when much people were gathered together, and were come vnto him out of all cities, he spake by a parable.
8:5	A sower went out to sowe his seede, and as he sowed, some fell by the wayes side, and it was troden vnder feete, and the foules of heauen deuoured it vp.
8:6	And some fell on the stones, and when it was sprong vp, it withered away, because it lacked moystnesse.
8:7	And some fell among thornes, and the thornes sprang vp with it, and choked it.
8:8	And some fell on good ground, and sprang vp, and bare fruite, an hundreth folde. And as hee sayd these things, he cryed, He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.
8:9	Then his disciples asked him, demaunding what parable that was.
8:10	And he sayde, Unto you it is geuen to knowe the secretes of the kyngdome of God: but to other by parables, that when they see, they shoulde not see, and when they heare, they shoulde not vnderstande.
8:11	The parable is this, The seede is the worde of God.
8:12	And they that are beside the way, are they that heare: afterward commeth the deuill, and taketh away the worde out of their hearts, least they should beleeue, and be saued.
8:13	But they that are on the stones, are they which when they haue heard, receiue ye word with ioy: but they haue no rootes: which for a while beleeue, but in the time of tentation goe away.
8:14	And that which fell among thornes, are they which haue heard, and after their departure are choked with cares and with riches, and voluptuous liuing, and bring forth no fruite.
8:15	But that which fell in good ground, are they which with an honest and good heart heare the worde, and keepe it, and bring forth fruite with patience.
8:16	No man when he hath lighted a candle, couereth it vnder a vessell, neither putteth it vnder the bed, but setteth it on a candlesticke, that they that enter in, may see the light.
8:17	For nothing is secret, that shall not be euident: neither any thing hid, that shall not be knowen, and come to light.
8:18	Take heede therefore how ye heare: for whosoeuer hath, to him shall be giuen: and whosoeuer hath not, from him shalbe taken euen that which it seemeth that he hath.
8:19	Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come neere to him for the preasse.
8:20	And it was tolde him by certaine which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, and would see thee.
8:21	But he answered, and sayd vnto them, My mother and my brethren are these which heare the worde of God, and doe it.
8:22	And it came to passe on a certaine day, that he went into a ship with his disciples, and he sayd vnto them, Let vs goe ouer vnto the other side of the lake. And they lanched forth.
8:23	And as they sayled, he fell a sleepe, and there came downe a storme of winde on the lake, and they were filled with water, and were in ieopardie.
8:24	Then they went to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we perish. And he arose, and rebuked the winde, and the waues of water: and they ceased, and it was calme.
8:25	Then he sayde vnto them, Where is your fayth? and they feared, and wondered among them selues, saying, Who is this that commandeth both the windes and water, and they obey him!
8:26	So they sailed vnto the region of the Gadarenes, which is ouer against Galile.
8:27	And as he went out to land, there met him a certaine man out of the citie, which had deuils long time, and he ware no garment, neither abode in house, but in the graues.
8:28	And when he sawe Iesus, he cryed out and fell downe before him, and with a loude voyce sayd, What haue I to doe with thee, Iesus the Sonne of God the most High? I beseech thee torment me not.
8:29	For he commanded ye foule spirit to come out of the man: (for oft times he had caught him: therefore he was bound with chaines, and kept in fetters: but he brake the bands, and was caried of the deuill into wildernesses.)
8:30	Then Iesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? and he sayd, Legion, because many deuils were entred into him.
8:31	And they besought him, that he would not commaund them to goe out into the deepe.
8:32	And there was there by, an hearde of many swine, feeding on an hill: and the deuils besought him, that he would suffer them to enter into them. So he suffered them.
8:33	Then went the deuils out of the man, and entred into the swine: and the hearde was caried with violence from a steepe downe place into the lake, and was choked.
8:34	When the heardmen sawe what was done, they fled: and when they were departed, they tolde it in the citie and in the countrey.
8:35	Then they came out to see what was done, and came to Iesus, and found the man, out of whom the deuils were departed, sitting at the feete of Iesus, clothed, and in his right minde: and they were afrayd.
8:36	They also which saw it, tolde them by what meanes he that was possessed with the deuill, was healed.
8:37	Then the whole multitude of the countrey about the Gadarenes, besought him that he would depart from them: for they were taken with a great feare: and he went into the ship, and returned.
8:38	Then the man, out of whome the deuils were departed, besought him that hee might be with him: but Iesus sent him away, saying,
8:39	Returne into thine owne house, and shewe what great things God hath done to thee. So hee went his way, and preached throughout all the citie, what great things Iesus had done vnto him.
8:40	And it came to passe, when Iesus was come againe, that the people receiued him: for they all waited for him.
8:41	And beholde, there came a man named Iairus, and he was the ruler of the Synagogue, who fell downe at Iesus feete, and besought him that he would come into his house.
8:42	For he had but a daughter onely, about twelue yeeres of age, and she lay a dying (and as he went, the people thronged him.
8:43	And a woman hauing an yssue of blood, twelue yeeres long, which had spent all her substance vpon physicians, and could not be healed of any:
8:44	When she came behind him, she touched the hemme of his garment, and immediatly her yssue of blood stanched.
8:45	Then Iesus sayd, Who is it that hath touched me? When euery man denied, Peter sayd and they that were with him, Master, the multitude thrust thee, and tread on thee, and sayest thou, Who hath touched me?
8:46	And Iesus sayde, Some one hath touched me: for I perceiue that vertue is gone out of me.
8:47	When the woman sawe that she was not hid, she came trembling, and fell downe before him, and tolde him before all the people, for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediatly.
8:48	And he said vnto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath saued thee: go in peace.)
8:49	While he yet spake, there came one from the ruler of the Synagogues house, which sayde to him, Thy daughter is dead: disease not the Master.
8:50	When Iesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Feare not: beleeue onely, and she shall be saued.
8:51	And when he went into the house, he suffered no man to goe in with him, saue Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and the father and mother of the maide.
8:52	And all wept, and sorowed for her: but he sayd, Weepe not: for she is not dead, but sleepeth.
8:53	And they laught him to scorne, knowing that she was dead.
8:54	So he thrust them all out, and tooke her by the hand, and cryed, saying, Maide, arise.
8:55	And her spirite came againe, and she rose straightway: and he comanded to giue her meate.
8:56	Then her parents were astonied: but hee commanded them that they should tell no man what was done.


8:1	And it fortuned after that that he him sylfe went throughout cities and tounes preachynge and shewinge ye kyngdom of God and the twelve with him.
8:2	And also certayne wemen which wer healed of evell spretes and infirmities: Mary called Magdalen out of whom went seven devyls
8:3	and Ioanna ye wyfe of Chusa Herodees stewarde and Susanna and many other: which ministred vnto the of their substaunce.
8:4	When moch people were gadred to gether and were come to him out of all cities he spake by a similitude.
8:5	A sower went out to sowe his seede: and as he sowed some fell by the waye syde and it was troden vnder fete and the foules of the ayre devoured it vp.
8:6	And some fell on ston and assone as it was spronge vp it widdred awaye because it lacked moystnes.
8:7	And some fell amonge thornes and ye thornes spronge vp with it and choked it.
8:8	And some fell on good grounde and sproge vp and bare frute an hondred foolde. And as he sayde these thinges he cryed: He that hath eares to heare let him heare.
8:9	And his disciples axed him sayinge: what maner similitude is this?
8:10	And he sayde: Vnto you it is geue, to knowe the mysteryes of the kyngdome of God, but vnto the other in parables, yt though they se it, they shulde not se it, and though they heare it, they shulde not vnderstonde.
8:11	The similitude is this. The seede is ye worde of God.
8:12	Thoose yt are besyde the waye are they that heare and afterwarde cometh ye devyll and taketh awaye the worde out of their hertes lest they shuld beleve and be saved.
8:13	They on the stonnes are they which when they heare receave the worde with ioye. But these have noo rootes which for a whyle beleve and in tyme of temtacio goo awaye.
8:14	And yt which fell amonge thornes are they which heare and goo forth and are choked wt cares and wt riches and volupteous lyvinge and bringe forth noo frute.
8:15	That in ye good grounde are they which with a good and pure hert heare the worde and kepe it and bringe forth frute with pacience.
8:16	No man lyghteth a candell and covereth it vnder a vessell nether putteth it vnder ye table: but setteth it on a candelsticke that they that enter in maye se ye lyght.
8:17	No thinge is in secret yt shall not come abroode: Nether eny thinge hyd that shall not be knowen and come to lyght.
8:18	Take hede therfore how ye heare. For whosoever hath to him shalbe geve: And whosoever hath not fro him shalbe take even that same which he supposeth that he hath.
8:19	Then came to him his mother and his brethren and coulde not come at him for prease.
8:20	And they tolde him sayinge: Thy mother and thy brethren stonde with out and wolde se the.
8:21	He answered and sayd vnto them: my mother and my brethren are these which heare the worde of God and do it.
8:22	And it chaunsed on a certayne daye that he went into a shippe and his disciples also and he sayde vnto them: Let vs goo over vnto the other syde of the lake. And they Lanched forthe.
8:23	And as they sayled he fell a slepe and there arose a storme of wynde in ye lake and they were fylled with water and were in ieopardy.
8:24	And they went to him and awoke him sayinge: Master Master we are loost. Then he arose and rebuked the wynde and the tempest of water and they ceased and it wexed calme.
8:25	And he sayd vnto the: where is youre faith? They feared and wondred sayinge one to another: what felowe is this? for he comaundeth bothe the wyndes and water and they obey him?
8:26	And they sayled vnto the region of ye Gaderenites which is over agaynst Galile.
8:27	And as he went out to londe ther met him a certayne man out of ye cite which had a devyll longe tyme and ware noo clothes nether aboode in eny housse: but amonge graves.
8:28	When he sawe Iesus he cryed and fell doune before him and with a loude voyce sayde: What have I to do with the Iesus the sonne of the God moost hyest? I beseche the torment me not.
8:29	Then he comaunded ye foule sprete to come out of the man. For ofte tymes he caught him and he was bounde with chaynes and kept with fetters: and he brake the bondes and was caryed of the fende into wyldernes.
8:30	And Iesus axed him sayinge: what is thy name? And he sayde: Legion because many devyls were entred into him.
8:31	And they besought him yt he wolde not comaunde the to goo out into ye depe.
8:32	And ther was there by an heerde of many swyne fedynge on an hyll: and they besought him yt he wolde soffre the to enter into the. And he soffred the.
8:33	Then went the devyls out of the man and entred into the swyne: And the heerd toke their course and ran heedlynge into the lake and were choked.
8:34	When the herdmen sawe what had chaunsed they fleed and tolde it in the cite and in the villages.
8:35	And they came out to se what was done: and came to Iesus and founde ye man out of who the devyls were departed sittynge at the fete of Iesus clothed and in his right mynde and they were afrayde.
8:36	They also wich sawe it tolde the by what meanes he yt was possessed of ye devyll was healed.
8:37	And all the whole multitude of ye cotrye of the Gaderenites besought him yt he wolde departe from the: for they were taken wt greate feare. And he gate him into the shippe and returned backe agayne.
8:38	Then the man out of whom the devyls were departed besought him yt he myght be wt him: But Iesus sent him awaye sayinge:
8:39	Goo home agayne into thyne awne housse and shewe what great thinges God hath done to ye. And he went his waye and preached thorow out all the cite what great thinges Iesus had done vnto him.
8:40	And it fortuned when Iesus was come agayne that ye people receaved him. For they all wayted for him.
8:41	And beholde ther came a man named Iairus (and he was a ruler of ye synagoge) and he fell doune at Iesus fete and besought him yt he wolde come into his housse
8:42	for he had but a doughter only apon a twelve yere of age and she laye a dyinge. And as he went the people thronged him.
8:43	And a woman havynge an issue of bloud twelve yeres (which had spent all her substance amonge phisicios nether coulde be holpen of eny)
8:44	came behinde him and touched the hem of his garmet and immediatly her issue of bloud staunched.
8:45	And Iesus sayde: Who is it that touched me? when every man denyed Peter and they yt were with him sayde: Master the people thrust the and vexe the: and sayest thou who touched me?
8:46	And Iesus sayd: Some body touched me. For I perceave that vertue is gone out of me.
8:47	When the woman sawe that she was not hid she came trimblynge and fell at is fete and tolde him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediatly.
8:48	And he sayde vnto hyr: Doughter be of good comforte Thy faith hath made the hoale goo in peace.
8:49	Whyll he yet spake there came one from ye rulers of the synagogis housse which sayde to him: thy doughter is deed disease not the master.
8:50	When Iesus hearde that He answered the father sayinge: Feare not beleve only and she shalbe made whole.
8:51	And when he came to ye housse he suffred no man to goo in with him save Peter Iames and Iohn and the father and the mother of the mayden.
8:52	Every body weept and sorowed for her. And he sayde: Wepe not: for she is not deed but slepeth.
8:53	And they lewgh him to scorne. For they knew that she was deed.
8:54	And he thrust the all out and caught her by the honde and cryed sayinge: Mayde aryse.
8:55	And hyr sprete came agayne and she roose strayght waye. And he commaunded to geve her meate.
8:56	And the father and the mother of hyr were astonyed. But he warned the that they shuld tell noo man what was done.
