19:1	Ða eode he geond jerico.
19:2	Ða wæs þær sum man on namen zacheus. se wæs welig.
19:3	& he wolde ge-seon hwilc se hælend wære. þa ne mihte he for þare manige. for-þan þe he wæs litel on wæstme.
19:4	Ða arn he be-foren & stah up an treow sicomorum þt he hine ge-seage. for-þan he wolde þanen faren.
19:5	Ða he com to þare stowe þa ge-seah se hælend hine & quoth. Zacheus efste to þinen huse. for-þan þe ic wille to-daig on þinen huse wunien.
19:6	Ða efstede he & hine bliðelice on-feng.
19:7	Þa hyo þt ge-seagen þa murcneden hyo ealle & cwæðen. þæt he to synful men ge-cyrde.
19:8	Ða stod zacheus & cwæð to drihton. Nu ic selle þearfen half mine ehte. & gef ich anigne be-reafode ic hyt be feower-fealden agyfe.
19:9	Ða quoth. se hælend to hym. to-daig þisse heow-rædene is hæle ge-worðen. for-þam he wæs abrahames bearn.
19:10	Mannes sune com secan. & halde þt for-warð.
19:11	Þa hyo þis ge-hyrden þa ge-ehte he sum bispell. for-þam þe he wæs neoh ierusalem. & for-þan þe hyo wenden þæt rædlice godes rice ge-swuteled wære.
19:12	Note: Homo quidam nobilis abiit in regionem longinquam accipere sibi regnum & reuertj. Witodlice he cwæð. Sum æthel-boren man ferde on ferren land. & he him rice on-fenge. & eft on-gean com.
19:13	Ða cleopede he hys teon þeowas & sealde teon pund heom. & quoth. to heom. Cheapiað oððæt ic cume.
19:14	Ða hatedon hine his leoden. & sænden arendraken æfter hym. & cwæðen. We nelleð þæt þes ofer us rixie.
19:15	Ða he on-gen com & þt rice on-feng; he het cleopian his þeowas þe he þt feoh sealde. þt he wiste hu mycel ge æghwilc ge-mangeden.
19:16	Ða com se forme & cwæð. Hlaford þin pund strenede tyen pund.
19:17	þa quoth. se hlaford. ge-blissa þu gode þeowa. for-þan þe þu on litlen wære ge-treowa þu beost anweald hæbbende ofer teon cestren.
19:18	Ða com oðer & quoth. hlaford þin pund strynde fif pund.
19:19	Þa quoth. he to þan. & byo þu ofer fif cestren.
19:20	Ða com oðer. & quoth. Hlaford her is þin pund þe ich hæfde on swat-lin aleigd.
19:21	Ich þe on-dredde for-þan þe þu ert stið man. þu nymst þæt þu ne settst. & þu ripst þæt þu ne seowe.
19:22	þa cwæð he to him. of þinen muðe ich þe deme la leðra þeowa. Ðu wistest þt ich eom stið man. þt ic nyme þt ich ne sette. & ripe þæt ic ne seow.
19:23	And hwi ne sealdest þu min feoh to hyre. & þanne ic come ic hit witodlice mid ge-streone on-fenge.
19:24	Ða quoth. he to þam þe him abuten stoden. anymed þæt pund fram him & sylled þam þe hæfð tin pund.
19:25	þa cwæðen hyo to him. hlaford he hæfd teon pund.
19:26	Soðlice ich segge eow. þæt ælchen hæbbenden beoð ge-seald. fram þan þe næfð. ge þt þt he hæfð hym beoð afyrred.
19:27	Þeah-hwæðere þa mine feond þe nolden þt ic ofer hyo rixede. ledeð hider & of-slead hyo be-foren me.
19:28	& þisen ge-cweðen he ferde to ierusalem.
19:29	Ða he ge-neahlahte bethphage & bethanie to þam munte þe is ge-nemned oliuetj. he sænde his twegen cnihtes
19:30	& cwæð. Fareð on þt castel þe on-gean inc ys on ðam gyt meteð assan folen ge-tegeð; on þam nan man geot ne sæt. untygeð hine & lædeð to me.
19:31	& gyf hwa eow axeð hwi gyt hine untegeð seggeð heom drihten hæfd his neode.
19:32	Ða ferden þa þe asende wæren & funden swa he heom saide þane folen standen.
19:33	Þa hyo hine unteigden. þa cwæðen þa hlafordes hwi un-teige ge þanne fole.
19:34	Ða cwæðen hyo for-þan þe drihten hæfð his neode.
19:35	Ða lædden hyo hine to þam hælende. & heora reaf wurpen ofer þanne folan. & þane hælend of-ufen setten.
19:36	& þa he for; hyo strehten under hine heore reaf on þam weige.
19:37	& þa he ge-neahlahte to oliuetes muntes niðer-stige. þa on-gunnen ealle þa menigeo ge-blissian & mid mychelere stefne god heredon be eallen þam mihten þe hyo sægen.
19:38	& cwæðen. Ge-bletsod syo se kyng þe com on drihtenes name. syb sy on heofene & wuldor on heahnysse.
19:39	Ða cwæð sum of þam farisei to him Lareow kyð þinen leorning-cnihten.
19:40	þa cwæð he to heom. Ich eow segge þeah þas swugieð stanes cleopieð.
19:41	& þa he ge-neahlacte & ge-seah þa ceastre. þa weop he ofer hyo
19:42	& cwæð. Eale gyf þu wistest & witedlice on þisen þinen dagen. þe þe to sibbe synde. nu hyo synden fran þinen eagen be-hydde.
19:43	for-þan þa dages to þe cumeð. & þine feond þe be-trymieð. & be-hæbbeð þe. & be-nærewiað þe aighwanen.
19:44	& to eorðan afelled þe. & þine bearn þe on þe synde. & hi ne lefeð on þe stan ofer stane. for-þan þe þu ne on-cneowe þa tide þinre ge-neosunge.
19:45	Ða on-gan he of þam temple ut-drifen þa syllende & þa biggende
19:46	& heom to cwæð. Hit is awriten. þt min hus is ge-bed-hus. ge hit worhten to scæðena scræfen.
19:47	& he wæs daighwamlice on þam temple lærende. Soðlice þare sacerde ealdres & þa bokeres & þas folkes ealder-men. smægdon hu hi hine for-don mihten.
19:48	& hyo ne funden hwæt hyo hym to gylte dyden. Soðlice eal folc wæs abysgod þæt be hym ge-hyrde seggen.


19:1	Now when Iesus entred and passed through Iericho,
19:2	Beholde, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chiefe receiuer of the tribute, and he was riche.
19:3	And he sought to see Iesus, who hee should be, and coulde not for the preasse, because he was of a lowe stature.
19:4	Wherefore he ranne before, and climed vp into a wilde figge tree, that he might see him: for he should come that way.
19:5	And when Iesus came to the place, he looked vp, and saw him, and said vnto him, Zaccheus, come downe at once: for to day I must abide at thine house.
19:6	Then he came downe hastily, and receiued him ioyfully.
19:7	And when all they sawe it, they murmured, saying, that hee was gone in to lodge with a sinfull man.
19:8	And Zaccheus stood forth, and said vnto the Lord, Beholde, Lord, the halfe of my goods I giue to the poore: and if I haue taken from any man by forged cauillation, I restore him foure folde.
19:9	Then Iesus said to him, This day is saluation come vnto this house, forasmuch as hee is also become the sonne of Abraham.
19:10	For the Sonne of man is come to seeke, and to saue that which was lost.
19:11	And whiles they heard these thinges, hee continued and spake a parable, because hee was neere to Hierusalem, and because also they thought that the kingdom of God should shortly appeare.
19:12	He saide therefore, A certaine noble man went into a farre countrey, to receiue for himselfe a kingdome, and so to come againe.
19:13	And he called his ten seruants, and deliuered them ten pieces of money, and sayd vnto them, Occupie till I come.
19:14	Nowe his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not haue this man to reigne ouer vs.
19:15	And it came to passe, when hee was come againe, and had receiued his kingdome, that he commanded the seruants to be called to him, to whome he gaue his money, that he might knowe what euery man had gained.
19:16	Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased ten pieces.
19:17	And he sayd vnto him, Well, good seruant: because thou hast bene faithfull in a very litle thing, take thou authoritie ouer ten cities.
19:18	And the second came, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased fiue pieces.
19:19	And to the same he sayd, Be thou also ruler ouer fiue cities.
19:20	So the other came, and sayd, Lord, beholde thy piece, which I haue laide vp in a napkin:
19:21	For I feared thee, because thou art a straight man: thou takest vp, that thou layedst not downe, and reapest that thou diddest not sowe.
19:22	Then he sayde vnto him, Of thine owne mouth will I iudge thee, O euill seruant. Thou knewest that I am a straight man, taking vp that I layd not downe, and reaping that I did not sowe.
19:23	Wherefore then gauest not thou my money into the banke, that at my coming I might haue required it with vantage?
19:24	And he sayd to them that stoode by, Take from him that piece, and giue it him that hath ten pieces.
19:25	(And they sayd vnto him, Lord, hee hath ten pieces.)
19:26	For I say vnto you, that vnto all them that haue, it shalbe giuen: and from him that hath not, euen that he hath, shalbe taken from him.
19:27	Moreouer, those mine enemies, which would not that I should reigne ouer them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
19:28	And when he had thus spoken, he went forth before, ascending vp to Hierusalem.
19:29	And it came to passe, when hee was come neere to Bethphage, and Bethania, besides the mount which is called the mount of Oliues, he sent two of his disciples,
19:30	Saying, Goe ye to the towne which is before you, wherein, assoone as ye are come, ye shall finde a colte tied, whereon neuer man sate: loose him, and bring him hither.
19:31	And if any man aske you, why ye loose him, thus shall ye say vnto him, Because the Lord hath neede of him.
19:32	So they that were sent, went their way, and found it as he had sayd vnto them.
19:33	And as they were loosing the colte, the owners thereof sayd vnto them, Why loose ye the colte?
19:34	And they sayd, The Lord hath neede of him.
19:35	So they brought him to Iesus, and they cast their garments on the colte, and set Iesus thereon.
19:36	And as he went, they spred their clothes in the way.
19:37	And when he was nowe come neere to the going downe of the mount of Oliues, the whole multitude of the disciples began to reioyce, and to prayse God with a loude voyce, for all the great workes that they had seene,
19:38	Saying, Blessed be the King that commeth in the Name of the Lord: peace in heauen, and glory in the highest places.
19:39	Then some of the Pharises of the companie sayd vnto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
19:40	But he answered, and sayd vnto them, I tell you, that if these should holde their peace, the stones would crie.
19:41	And when he was come neere, he behelde the Citie, and wept for it,
19:42	Saying, O if thou haddest euen knowen at the least in this thy day those things, which belong vnto thy peace! but nowe are they hid from thine eyes.
19:43	For the dayes shall come vpon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compasse thee round, and keepe thee in on euery side,
19:44	And shall make thee euen with ye ground, and thy children which are in thee, and they shall not leaue in thee a stone vpon a stone, because thou knewest not that season of thy visitation.
19:45	He went also into the Temple, and began to cast out them that solde therein, and them that bought,
19:46	Saying vnto them, It is written, Mine house is the house of prayer, but ye haue made it a denne of theeues.
19:47	And he taught dayly in the Temple. And the hie Priests and the Scribes, and the chiefe of the people sought to destroy him.
19:48	But they could not finde what they might doe to him: for all the people hanged vpon him when they heard him.


19:1	And he entred in and went thorow Hierico.
19:2	And beholde ther was a ma named Zacheus which was a ruler amoge the Publicans and was riche also.
19:3	And he made meanes to se Iesus what he shuld be: and coulde not for the preace because he was of a lowe stature.

19:6	And he came doune hastelye and receaved him ioyfully.
19:7	And when they sawe that they all groudged sayinge: He is gone in to tary with a man that is a synner.
19:8	And zache stode forth and sayd vnto ye Lorde: beholde Lorde ye haulfe of my gooddes I geve to the povre and if I have done eny ma wroge I will restore him fower folde.
19:9	And Iesus sayd to him: this daye is healthe come vnto this housse for as moche as it also is become the chylde of Abraha.
19:10	For the sonne of ma is come to seke and to save that which was looste.
19:11	As they hearde these thinges he added ther to a similitude be cause he was nye to Hierusalem and because also they thought that the kyngdome of God shuld shortely appere.
19:12	He sayde therfore: a certayne noble man wet into a farre countre to receave him a kyngdome and then to come agayne.
19:13	And he called his ten servauntes and delyvered them ten pounde sayinge vnto them: by and sell till I come.
19:14	But his citesens hated him and sent messengers after him sayinge: We will not have this man to raygne over vs.
19:15	And it came to passe when he was come agayne and had receaved his kyngdome he comaunded these servautes to be called to him (to whom he gave his money) to witt what every man had done.
19:16	Then came ye fyrst sayinge: Lorde thy pounde hath encreased ten poude.
19:17	And he sayde vnto him: Well good servaute because thou wast faithfull in a very lytell thynge take thou auctorite over ten cities.
19:18	And the other came sayinge: Lorde thy poude hath encreased fyve pounde.
19:19	And to ye same he sayde: and be thou also ruler ouer fyve cities.
19:20	And the thyrde came and sayde: Lorde beholde here thy pounde which I have kepte in a napkyn
19:21	for I feared the because thou arte a strayte man: thou takest vp that thou laydest not doune and repest that thou dyddest not sowe.
19:22	And he sayde vnto him: Of thine awne mouth iudge I the thou evyll servaunt. knewest thou that I am a strayte man takinge vp that I layde not doune and repinge that I dyd not sowe?
19:23	Wherfore then gavest not thou my money into the banke that at my cominge I might have required myne awne with vauntage?
19:24	And he sayde to them that stode by: take fro him that pounde and geve it him that hath ten poude.
19:25	And they sayd vnto him: Lorde he hath ten pounde.
19:26	I saye vnto you that vnto all the that have it shalbe geve: and from him yt hath not eve that he hath shalbe taken from him.
19:27	Moreover those myne enemys which wolde not that I shuld raigne over them bringe hidder and slee them before me.
19:28	And when he had thus spoken he proceded forthe before a ssendinge vp to Ierusalem.
19:29	And it fortuned when he was come nye to Bethphage and Bethany besydes moute olivete he sent two of his disciples
19:30	sayinge: Goo ye in to the toune which is over agaynste you. In the which assone as ye are come ye shall finde a colte tyed wheron yet never man sate. Lowse him and bringe him hider.
19:31	And if eny man axe you why that ye loowse him: thus saye vnto him ye lorde hath nede of him.
19:32	They that were sent went their waye and founde eve as he had sayde vnto the.
19:33	And as they were aloosinge ye coolte the owners sayde vnto the: why lowse ye ye coolte?
19:34	And they sayde: for ye Lorde hath nede of him.
19:35	And they brought him to Iesus. And they cast their raymet on ye colte and set Iesus thero.
19:36	And as he wet they spredde their clothes in ye waye.
19:37	And when he was now come wheare he shuld goo doune fro the moute olivete ye whole multitude of ye disciples began to reioyce and to lawde God with a loude voyce for all ye miracles yt they had sene
19:38	sayinge: Blessed be the kynge that cometh in the name of the Lorde: peace in heave and glory in the hyest.
19:39	And some of ye Pharises of the copany sayde vnto him: Master rebuke thy disciples.
19:40	He answered and sayde vnto the: I tell you yf these shuld holde their peace the stones wold crye.
19:41	And when he was come neare he behelde the citie and wept on it
19:42	sayinge: Yf thou haddest dest knowen those thinges which belonge vn thy peace eve at this thy tyme. But now are they hydde from thyne eyes.
19:43	For the dayes shall come vpo the that thy enemys shall cast a banke aboute the and copasse the rounde and kepe the in on every syde
19:44	and make the even with the grounde with thy chyldren which are in the. And they shall not leve in the one stone vpo another because thou knewest not the tyme of thy visitacion.
19:45	And he went in to the temple and begane to cast out them that solde therin and them that bought
19:46	sayinge vnto them yt is written: my housse is the housse of prayer: but ye have made it a den of theves.
19:47	And he taught dayly in the temple. The hye Prestes and the Scribes and the chefe of the people went about to destroye him:
19:48	but coulde not finde what to do. For all the people stacke by him and gave him audience.
