21:1	As he behelde, he sawe the ryche men, whych cast in their offeringes into the treasury.
21:2	He sawe also a certyane poore wyddowe, whych cast in thyther two mytes.
21:3	And he sayde: of a trueth I saye vnto you, that thys poore wyddow hath put in moare then they all.
21:4	For they all haue of theyr superfluyte added vnto the offerynges of God: but she, of her penury hath cast in all the substaunce that she had.
21:5	And vnto some that spake of the temple, how it was garnysshed with goodly stones and Iewels, he sayde.
21:6	The dayes wyll come, in the which (of these thynges which ye se) there shall not be lefte one stone vpon another, that shall not be thorowen doune.
21:7	And they asked hym sayinge: Master, when shall these thynges be, and what sygne wyll ther be when soch thynges come to passe?
21:8	And he sayde: take hede, that ye be not deceaued. For many shall come in my name, and saye that they are Chryst: and the tyme draweth neare. Folowe ye not them therfore.
21:9	But when ye heare of warres and sedicions, be not afrayed. For these thynges must first come to passe, but the ende foloweth not by and by.
21:10	Then sayde he vnto them: Nacion shall ryse agaynst nacion, & kyngdome agaynst kyngdome,
21:11	and greate erthquakes shalbe in all places, and honger, and pestilence, & fearfull thinges. And greate sygnes shall ther be from heauen.
21:12	But before all these, they shall laye handes on you, and persecute you, delyuerynge you vp to the Synagoges & into presons, & shall bringe you vnto kynges & rulers for my names sake.
21:13	And thys shall chaunce you for a testimoniall.
21:14	Be at a sure point therfore in your hertes, not to study before, what ye shal answere:
21:15	for I wyll geue you a mouth & wysdome, where agaynste, all your aduersaries shall not be able to speake nor resist.
21:16	Moreouer ye shalbe betrayd of your fathers and mothers & brethren, & kynsfolke & frendes, and some of you shall they put to deeth.
21:17	And hated shall ye be of all men for my names sake,
21:18	& ther shall not one herre of youre head perysshe.
21:19	Possesse ye youre soule by pacience.
21:20	And when ye se Ierusalem beseged wyth an hoste, then be sure that the desolacyon, of the same is nye.
21:21	Then let them which are in Iewrye, flye to the mountaynes. And let them whych are in the myddes of it, departe out. And let not them that are in other countreyes, enter therin.
21:22	For these be the dayes of vengeaunce, that all thynges which are wrytten, maye be fulfylled.
21:23	But wo vnto them that be with chylde, & to them that geue sucke in those dayes: for there shalbe greate trouble in the lande, and wrath ouer all this people.
21:24	And they shall fall thorow the edge of the swearde, and shalbe ledd awaye captyue into all nacions. And Ierusalem shalbe troden downe of the gentyls, vntyll the tyme of the gentyls be fulfylled.
21:25	And ther shalbe sygnes in the Sonne, and in the Moone, and in the starres: and in the erth the people shalbe at their wyttes ende, thorow dispayre. The see and the water shall roare,
21:26	and mennes hertes shall fayle them for feare, and for lokynge after those thynges which shall come on the erth. For the powers of heauen shall moue.
21:27	And then shall they se the sonne of man come in a cloude with power and greate glory.
21:28	When these thynges begynne to come to passe: then loke vp, and lyfte vp youre heades, for youre redempcyon draweth nye.
21:29	And he shewed them a symilitude: beholde the fygge tree, and all the trees,
21:30	when they shoot forth their buddes, ye se and knowe of youre awne selues, that sommer is then nye at hand.
21:31	So lykewyse ye also (when ye se these thynges come to passe) be sure, that the kyngdome of God is nye.
21:32	Uerely I saye vnto you: this generacion shall not passe, tyll all be fulfylled.
21:33	Heauen and erth shall passe: but my wordes shall not passe.
21:34	Take hede to your selues, lest at anye tyme youre hertes be ouercome with surfettynge and dronkennes and cares of thys lyfe, and so the daye come vpon you vnwares.
21:35	For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole erth.
21:36	Watch ye therfore contynually, and praye, that ye maye escape all these thynges that shall come, and that ye maye stande before the sonne of man.
21:37	In the daye tyme, he taught in the temple: and at nyght, he went out, and abode in the mount that is called Olyuete.
21:38	And all the people came in the mornynge to hym in the temple, for to heare hym.


21:1	And he biheeld, and saye tho riche men, that casten her yiftis in to the treserie;
21:2	but he saye also a litil pore widewe castynge twei ferthingis.
21:3	And he seide, Treuli Y seie to you, that this pore widewe keste more than alle men.
21:4	For whi alle these of thing that was plenteuouse to hem casten in to the yiftis of God; but this widewe of that thing that failide to hir, caste al hir liflode, that sche hadde.
21:5	And whanne sum men seiden of the temple, that it was apparailid with gode stoonus and yiftis,
21:6	he seide, These thingis that ye seen, daies schulen come, in whiche a stoon schal not be left on a stoon, which schal not be destried.
21:7	And thei axiden hym, and seiden, Comaundour, whanne schulen these thingis be? and what tokne schal be, whanne thei schulen bigynne to be don?
21:8	And he seide, Se ye, that ye be not disseyued; for many schulen come in my name, seiynge, For Y am, and the tyme schal neiye; therfor nyle ye go aftir hem.
21:9	And whanne ye schulen here batailis and stryues with ynne, nyle ye be aferd; it bihoueth first these thingis to be don, but not yit anoon is an ende.
21:10	Thanne he seide to hem, Folk schal rise ayens folk, and rewme ayens rewme;
21:11	grete mouyngis of erthe schulen be bi placis, and pestilencis, and hungris, and dredis fro heuene, and grete tokenes schulen be.
21:12	But bifore alle these thingis thei schulen sette her hoondis on you, and schulen pursue, bitakynge in to synagogis and kepyngis, drawynge to kyngis and to iusticis, for my name;
21:13	but it schal falle to you in to witnessyng.
21:14	Therfor putte ye in youre hertis, not to thenke bifore, hou ye schulen answere; for Y schal yyue to you mouth and wisdom,
21:15	to whiche alle youre aduersaries schulen not mowe ayenstonde, and ayenseie.
21:16	And ye schulen be takun of fadir, and modir, and britheren, and cosyns, and freendis, and bi deeth thei schulen turmente of you;
21:17	and ye schulen be in haate to alle men for my name.
21:18	And an heere of youre heed schal not perische;
21:19	in youre pacience ye schulen welde youre soulis.
21:20	But whanne ye schulen se Jerusalem ben enuyround with an oost, thanne wite ye, that the desolacioun of it schal neiye.
21:21	Thanne thei that ben in Judee, fle to the mountans; and thei that ben in the mydil of it, gon awei; and thei that ben in the cuntreis, entre not in to it.
21:22	For these ben daies of veniaunce, that alle thingis that ben writun, be fulfillid.
21:23	And wo to hem, that ben with child, and norischen in tho daies; for a greet diseese schal be on the erthe, and wraththe to this puple.
21:24	And thei schulen falle bi the scharpnesse of swerd, and thei schulen be led prisoneris in to alle folkis; and Jerusalem schal be defoulid of hethene men, til the tymes of naciouns be fulfillid.
21:25	And tokenes schulen be in the sunne, and the mone, and in the sterris; and in the erthe ouerleiyng of folkis, for confusioun of sown of the see and of floodis;
21:26	for men schulen wexe drye for drede and abidyng that schulen come to al the world; for vertues of heuenes schulen be mouyd.
21:27	And thanne thei schulen se mannys sone comynge in a cloude, with greet power and maieste.
21:28	And whanne these thingis bigynnen to be maad, biholde ye, and reise ye youre heedis, for youre redempcioun neiyeth.
21:29	And he seide to hem a liknesse, Se ye the fige tre, and alle trees,
21:30	whanne thei bryngen forth now of hem silf fruyt, ye witen that somer is nyy;
21:31	so ye, whanne ye seen these thingis to be don, wite ye, that the kyngdom of God is nyy.
21:32	Treuli Y seie to you, that this generacioun schal not passe, til alle thingis be don.
21:33	Heuene and erthe schulen passe, but my wordis schulen not passe.
21:34	But take ye heede to you silf, lest perauenture youre hertis be greuyd with glotony, and drunkenesse, and bisynessis of this lijf, and thilke dai come sodein on you; for as a snare it schal come on alle men,
21:35	that sitten on the face of al erthe.
21:36	Therfor wake ye, preiynge in ech tyme, that ye be hadde worthi to fle alle these thingis that ben to come, and to stonde bifor mannus sone.
21:37	And in daies he was techynge in the temple, but in nyytis he yede out, and dwellide in the mount, that is clepid of Olyuet.
21:38	And al the puple roos eerli, to come to hym in the temple, and to here hym.

21:3	and he sayde: Verely I saye vnto you: This poore wedowe hath put in more the they all:
21:4	For these all haue of their excesse put in vnto the offerynge of God, but she of hir pouerte hath put in all hir lyuynge that she had.
21:5	And wha some spake of the temple, that it was garnished with goodly stones and Iewels, he saide:
21:6	The time shal come, wherin of all this that ye se, there shal not be left one stone vpon another, which shal not be broken downe.
21:7	They axed him, and sayde: Master, wha shal these be? and what shalbe the token, whan these shal come to passe?
21:8	He sayde: Take hede, that ye be not disceaued: For many shal come in my name, and saye, I am he, & the tyme is come hard by. Folowe them not.
21:9	But whan ye heare of warres and insurreccions, be not ye afrayed, for soch must come to passe, but the ende is not yet there so soone.
21:10	Then sayde he vnto them: One people shal ryse agaynst another, and one realme ageynst another,
21:11	& shal be greate earthquakes here and there, pestilence, and derth, and fearfull thinges. And greate tokes shal there be fro heaue.
21:12	But before all these, they shal laye handes vpon you, and persecute you, and delyuer you vp in to their synagoges and presons, and brynge you before kynges & prynces for my names sake.
21:13	But this shal happen vnto you for a wytnesse.
21:14	Be at a poynt therfore in youre hertes, that ye take no thought, how ye shal answere:
21:15	for I wil geue you mouth & wyssdome, agaynst the which all youre aduersaries shal not be able to speake ner to resist.
21:16	But ye shal be delyuered vp euen of youre elders, brethren, kynssfolkes and frendes, and some of you shal they put vnto death,
21:17	and ye shal be hated of euery man for my names sake,
21:18	and yet shal not one hayre of youre heade perishe.
21:19	Holde fast youre soules with pacience.
21:20	But whan ye shal se Ierusalem beseged with an hoost, then vnderstonde, that the desolacion of it is nye.
21:21	Then let them which be in Iewry, flye vnto the mountaynes: and let soch as be in the myddest therof, departe out: and let soch as be in the countrees, not come therin.
21:22	For these are the dayes of vengeaunce, that euery thinge which is wrytten,maye be fulfilled.
21:23	But wo vnto them that are with childe, and to them that geue sucke in those dayes: for there shalbe greate trouble vpon earth, and wrath ouer this people,
21:24	and they shal fall thorow the edge of the swerde, and be led captyue amoge all nacions. And Ierusale shalbe troden downe of the Heithen, vntyll the tyme of the Heithen be fulfilled.
21:25	And there shalbe tokens in the Sonne and Mone, and starres, and vpon earth the people shalbe in soch perplexite, that they shal not tell which waye to turne them selues. And the see and the waters shal roare,
21:26	and men shal pyne awaye for feare, and for lokynge after the thinges which shal come vpo earth. For euen the very powers of heauen shal moue.
21:27	And then shal they se the sonne of man commynge in the cloude with power and greate glory.
21:28	But whan these thinges begynne to come to passe, the loke vp, and lift vpp youre heades, for youre redempcion draweth nye.
21:29	And he tolde them a symilitude: Beholde the fygge tre, and all tre trees,
21:30	wha they now shute forth their buddes, ye se by them, and perceaue, that Sommer is now at hande.
21:31	So likewyse ye, whan ye se all these thinges come to passe, be sure that the kyngdome of God is nye.

21:33	Heauen and earth shal passe, but my wordes shal not passe.
21:34	But take hede vnto youre selues, that yor hertes be not ouerlade with excesse of eatinge and with dronkennes, and with takinge of thought for lyuynge, and so this daye come vpo you vnawares.
21:35	For as a snare shal it come on all them that dwell vpon earth.
21:36	Watch therfore cotynually, and praye, that ye maye be worthy to escape all this that shal come, & to stode before ye sonne of man.
21:37	And on the daye tyme he taught in the temple, but in the night season he wente out and abode all night vpon mount Oliuete.
21:38	And all the people gat them vp early vnto him in the temple, for to heare him.
