3:1	And there was a man of the Pharisees, Nicodemus his name, a ruler of the Jews,
3:2	this one came unto him by night, and said to him, `Rabbi, we have known that from God thou hast come -- a teacher, for no one these signs is able to do that thou dost, if God may not be with him.'
3:3	Jesus answered and said to him, `Verily, verily, I say to thee, If any one may not be born from above, he is not able to see the reign of God;'
3:4	Nicodemus saith unto him, `How is a man able to be born, being old? is he able into the womb of his mother a second time to enter, and to be born?'
3:5	Jesus answered, `Verily, verily, I say to thee, If any one may not be born of water, and the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the reign of God;
3:6	that which hath been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which hath been born of the Spirit is spirit.
3:7	`Thou mayest not wonder that I said to thee, It behoveth you to be born from above;
3:8	the Spirit where he willeth doth blow, and his voice thou dost hear, but thou hast not known whence he cometh, and whither he goeth; thus is every one who hath been born of the Spirit.'
3:9	Nicodemus answered and said to him, `How are these things able to happen?'
3:10	Jesus answered and said to him, `Thou art the teacher of Israel -- and these things thou dost not know!
3:11	`Verily, verily, I say to thee -- What we have known we speak, and what we have seen we testify, and our testimony ye do not receive;
3:12	if the earthly things I said to you, and ye do not believe, how, if I shall say to you the heavenly things, will ye believe?
3:13	and no one hath gone up to the heaven, except he who out of the heaven came down -- the Son of Man who is in the heaven.
3:14	`And as Moses did lift up the serpent in the wilderness, so it behoveth the Son of Man to be lifted up,
3:15	that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during,
3:16	for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten -- He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.
3:17	For God did not send His Son to the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him;
3:18	he who is believing in him is not judged, but he who is not believing hath been judged already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
3:19	`And this is the judgment, that the light hath come to the world, and men did love the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil;
3:20	for every one who is doing wicked things hateth the light, and doth not come unto the light, that his works may not be detected;
3:21	but he who is doing the truth doth come to the light, that his works may be manifested, that in God they are having been wrought.'
3:22	After these things came Jesus and his disciples to the land of Judea, and there he did tarry with them, and was baptizing;
3:23	and John was also baptizing in Aenon, nigh to Salem, because there were many waters there, and they were coming and were being baptized --
3:24	for John was not yet cast into the prison --
3:25	there arose then a question from the disciples of John with `some' Jews about purifying,
3:26	and they came unto John, and said to him, `Rabbi, he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou didst testify, lo, this one is baptizing, and all are coming unto him.'
3:27	John answered and said, `A man is not able to receive anything, if it may not have been given him from the heaven;
3:28	ye yourselves do testify to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am having been sent before him;
3:29	he who is having the bride is bridegroom, and the friend of the bridegroom, who is standing and hearing him, with joy doth rejoice because of the voice of the bridegroom; this, then, my joy hath been fulfilled.
3:30	`Him it behoveth to increase, and me to become less;
3:31	he who from above is coming is above all; he who is from the earth, from the earth he is, and from the earth he speaketh; he who from the heaven is coming is above all.
3:32	`And what he hath seen and heard this he doth testify, and his testimony none receiveth;
3:33	he who is receiving his testimony did seal that God is true;
3:34	for he whom God sent, the sayings of God he speaketh; for not by measure doth God give the Spirit;
3:35	the Father doth love the Son, and all things hath given into his hand;
3:36	he who is believing in the Son, hath life age-during; and he who is not believing the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God doth remain upon him.'


3:1	Ther was a man of the pharises named Nicodemus a ruler amonge ye Iewes.
3:2	The same cam to Iesus by nyght and sayde vnto him: Rabbi we knowe that thou arte a teacher whiche arte come from God. For no man coulde do suche miracles as thou doest except God were with him.
3:3	Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto the: except a man be boren a newe he cannot se the kyngdom of God.
3:4	Nicodemus sayde vnto him: how can a man be boren when he is olde? can he enter into his moders wombe and be boren agayne?
3:5	Iesus answered: verely verely I saye vnto the: except that a man be boren of water and of ye sprete he cannot enter into the kyngdome of god.
3:6	That which is boren of the flesshe is flesshe: and that which is boren of the sprete is sprete.
3:7	Marvayle not that I sayd to the ye must be boren a newe.
3:8	The wynde bloweth where he listeth and thou hearest his sounde: but canst not tell whence he cometh and whether he goeth. So is every man that is boren of the sprete.
3:9	And Nicodemus answered and sayde vnto him: how can these thinges be?
3:10	Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: arte thou a master in Israel and knowest not these thinges?
3:11	Verely verely I saye vnto the we speake that we knowe and testify that we have sene: and ye receave not oure witnes.
3:12	Yf when I tell you erthely thinges ye beleve not: how shuld ye beleve yf I shall tell you of hevenly thinges?
3:13	And no man ascendeth vp to heaven but he that came doune from heaven that is to saye the sonne of man which is in heaven.
3:14	And as Moses lifte vp the serpent in the wyldernes even so must the sonne of man be lifte vp
3:15	that none that beleveth in him perisshe: but have eternall lyfe.
3:16	For God so loveth the worlde yt he hath geven his only sonne that none that beleve in him shuld perisshe: but shuld have everlastinge lyfe.
3:17	For God sent not his sonne into the worlde to condepne the worlde: but that the worlde through him might be saved.
3:18	He that beleveth on him shall not be condepned. But he that beleveth not is condempned all redy be cause he beleveth not in the name of the only sonne of God.
3:19	And this is the condempnacion: that light is come into the worlde and the me loved darcknes more then light because their dedes were evill.
3:20	For every man that evyll doeth hateth the light: nether commeth to light lest his dedes shuld be reproved.
3:21	But he that doth truth commeth to the light that his dedes might be knowen how that they are wrought in God.
3:22	After these thinges cam Iesus and his disciples into the Iewes londe and ther he haunted with them and baptised.
3:23	And Iohn also baptised in Enon besydes Salim because ther was moche water there and they came and were baptised.
3:24	For Iohn was not yet cast into preson.
3:25	And ther arose a questio bitwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes about purifiynge.
3:26	And they came vnto Iohn and sayde vnto him: Rabbi he that was with the beyonde Iordan to whom thou barest witnes. Beholde the same baptyseth and all me come to him.
3:27	Iohn answered and sayde: a man can receave no thinge at all except it be geve him fro heaven.
3:28	Ye youre selves are witnesses how that I sayde: I am not Christ but am sent before him.
3:29	He that hath the bryde is the brydegrome. But the frende of the brydegrome which stondeth by and heareth him reioyseth greately of the brydgromes voyce. Tis my ioye is fulfilled.
3:30	He must increace: and I muste decreace.
3:31	He that commeth from an hye is above all: He that is of ye erth is of the erth and speaketh of the erth. He that cometh from heaven is above all
3:32	and what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifieth: but no man receaveth his testimonye.
3:33	How be it he that hath receaved hys testimonye hath set to his seale that God is true.
3:34	For he whom God hath sent speaketh the wordes of God. For God geveth not the sprete by measure.
3:35	The father loveth the sonne and hath geven all thinges into his honde.
3:36	He that beleveth on the sonne hath everlastynge lyfe: and he that beleveth not the sonne shall not se lyfe but the wrathe of God abydeth on him.

3:4	Nicodemus sayde vnto him: How can a man be borne, whan he is olde? Can he entre into his mothers wombe, and be borne agayne?
3:5	Iesus answered: Verely verely I saye vnto the: Excepte a ma be borne of water and of the sprete, he can not come in to ye kyngdome of God.
3:6	That which is borne of flesh, is flesh: & that which is borne of the sprete, is sprete.
3:7	Maruell not, that I sayde vnto ye: Ye must be borne of new.
3:8	The wynde bloweth where he wyl, and thou hearest his sounde: but thou canst not tell whece he commeth, and whither he goeth. So is euery one, that is borne of the sprete.
3:9	Nicodemus answered, and sayde vnto him: How maye these be?
3:10	Iesus answered, & sayde vnto hi: Art thou a Master in Israel, & knowest not these?
3:11	Verely I saye vnto ye: We speake that we knowe, and testifie that we haue sene, and ye receaue not oure wytnesse.
3:12	Yf ye beleue not whan I tell you of earthly thinges, how shulde ye beleue, wha I speake vnto you of heauenly thinges?
3:13	And no man ascendeth vp in to heauen, but he that is come downe from heaue, (namely) the sonne of man which is in heauen.
3:14	And like as Moses lift vp the serpent in the wyldernes, euen so must the sonne of man be lift vp,
3:15	that who so euer beleueth in him, shulde not perish, but haue euerlastinge life.
3:16	For God so loued the worlde, that he gaue his onely sonne, that who so euer beleueth in hi, shulde not perishe, but haue euerlastinge life.
3:17	For God sent not his sonne in to ye worlde to condempne the worlde, but that the worlde might be saued by him.
3:18	He that beleueth on him, shal not be codemned. But he that beleueth not, is codemned allready: because he beleueth not on the name of the onely sonne of God.
3:19	But this is ye codempnacion, that the light is come in to the worlde, and men loued the darknesse more the ye light: for their workes were euell.
3:20	Whosoeuer doth euell, hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his dedes shulde not be reproued.
3:21	But he that doth the trueth, commeth to the light, that his workes maye be knowne: for they are done in God.
3:22	Afterwarde came Iesus & his disciples in to the lode of Iewry, and had his beynge there with them, and baptysed
3:23	Ihon baptysed also in Enon besyde Salem: for there was moch water there. And they came thither, and were baptysed:
3:24	for Iohn was not yet put in preson.
3:25	Then arose there a question amonge the disciples of Ihon with the Iewes aboute the purifienge,
3:26	and they came vnto Ihon, and sayde vnto him: Master, he yt was with the beyonde Iordan, of whom thou barest wytnesse, beholde, he baptyseth, and euery man cometh vnto him.
3:27	Ihon answered and sayde: A man can receaue nothinge, excepte it be geuen him from heaue.
3:28	Ye youreselues are my witnesses, how that I sayde, I am not Christ, but am sent before him.
