6:10	Ða cwæð se hælend. doð þæt þas men sitton. on þare stowe wæs mycel gærs. þær sæton þa; swylce fif þusend manne.
6:11	Se hælend nam þa hlafes. & þanc wurðlice dyde. & hyo to-dælde þam sittenden. & eall-swa of þam fixum; swa mycel swa hyo woldan.
6:12	Ða hyo fulla wæron; þa cwæð he to hys leorning-cnihten. gaderiað þa britsene þe þær to lafe wæren. þæt hyo ne losigen.
6:13	hy ge-gaderedon & felden twelf wiligen fulle. þære brytsene of þam þe þa lefdon. þe of þam fif berenan hlafon æten.
6:14	Ða menn cwæðon. þa hyo sæwon þæt he þæt tacen worhte; þæt þes is soðliche witega þe on midden-earð cymð.
6:15	Ða se hælend wyste þæt hyo wolden cuman & hine læccen. & to cynge don; þa fleah he äne. uppon þonne munt.
6:16	---
6:17	Ænd þa hyo eoden on scyp hyo comen ofer þa sæ. to capharnaum. hyt wærð þa þeostre. & se hælend ne com to heom.
6:18	mycel wind bleow. & hyt wæs breoht (sic) sæ.
6:19	Witodlice þa hy hafden ge-rowen swilce twentig furlunge oððe þrittig. þa ge-sæwon hyo þonne hælend uppen þare sæ gan. & þæt he wæs ge-hænde þam scype. & hyo heom on-dredden.
6:20	he cwæð þa to heom. Ic hyt eom. ne on-drædeð eow.
6:21	Hyo wolden hine nemen on þæt scyp. & sone ðæt scyp wæs on þam lande. þæt hyo wolden to faren.
6:22	Soðlice oðer dæg seo manigeo þe stod be-geondon þam mere ge-seah þæt þær næs buton an scyp. & þæt se hælend self ne eode on scyp mid his leorning-cnihten. ac his leorning-cnihtes sylf ane foren.
6:23	oðre scype coman fram tyberiade wið þa stowe þær hyo þonne hlaf æten drihtan þankiende.
6:24	Ða seo manigeo ge-seah þæt se hælend þær næs. ne hys leorning-cnihtas; þa eoden hyo on scype. & coman to capharnaum. sohten þonne hælend.
6:25	& þa hyo ge-metten hyne be-geondon þam mere hyo cwæðon to hym. Lareow hwanen comen þu hyder.
6:26	Se hælend heom andswerede; & cwæð. Soð ic segge eow ne seche ge me for-þam þe ge tacnu ge-seawen. ac for-þam þe ge æten of þam hlafon & syndden fulle.
6:27	Ne wyrcheð æfter þam mete þe for-wurð ac æfter þam þe þurh-wuneð on eche lyf. þonne mannes sune eow sylð. þane god fæder getacneðe (sic).
6:28	Hyo cwæðen to hym. hwæt do we. þæt we werche godes weorc;
6:29	Þa and-swerede se hælend & cwæð to heom. Ðæt is godes weorc. þæt ge ge-lefen on þonne þe he sende.
6:30	Ða cwæðn hyo. hwæt dest þu to tacken; þæt we ge-seon & ge-lefen. þæt þu hyt werche.
6:31	ure fæder æten heofenlice mete on westene. swa hyt awriten is. he sealde heom eten hlaf of hefene.
6:32	Se hælend cwæð to heom. Soð ic segge eow. ne sealde moyses eow hlaf of heofenum. Ac min fæder eow syld soðne hlaf of heofenum.
6:33	hyt ys godes hlaf þe of hefene com. ænd sylð midden-earde lyf.
6:34	Hyo cwæðen to hym. Drihten syle us þisne hlaf.
6:35	Se hælend cwæð to heom. Ic eom lyfes hlaf. ne hyngreð þe to me cymð. & ne þyrst þan næfre þe on me ge-lyfd.
6:36	Ac ic eow sæde þæt ge ge-sawen me & ne ge-lyfden.
6:37	Eall þæt se fæder me syllð cymð to me. & ic ne werpe ut þone þe to me cymð;
6:38	for-þan ic ne com of heofene þæt ic mine wylle do. ac þas wille þe me sende.
6:39	Ðæt is þas fader wille þe me sende. þæt ic nan þing ne forleose. of þam þe he me sealde. ac þæt ic ä-wecche þæt on þam ytemestan daige.
6:40	Þis ys mines fæder willan þe me sente. þæt ælch þe þonne sune ge-sihð. & on hine ge-lefd hæbbe eche lyf. & ic hyne ä-wecche on þam ytemestan daige.
6:41	Ða murcneden þa iudeas be hym for-þam þe he cwæð. ic eom hlaf þe of heofene com;
6:42	& hyo cwæðen. Hu nys þis se hælend iosepes sune. we cunnon hys fæder & hys moder. hu mete segð þës. ic com of heofenum;
6:43	Se hælend heom andswerede. & cwæð to heom. ne murcniað eow be-tweonan.
6:44	Ne mæg nan man cumen to me buton se fæder þe me sende hyne tye & ic hine ärere on þam ytemestan daige.
6:45	On þara witegena boken ys awritan. ealle eaðlare beoð godes. Ælc þe ge-herde æt þam fæder & leornede. cymð to me.
6:46	Ne ge-seah nan man fæder buton se þe ys of gode. se ge-sihð þonne fæder.
6:47	Soð ic segge eow se hæfð eche lyf þe on me ge-lyfð;
6:48	ic eom lyfes hlaf.

6:54	Se hæfð ece lyf þe et min flæsc & drincð min blod & ic hine arære on þam itemestan daige.
6:55	Soðlice min flæsc ys mete; & min blod ys drenc.
6:56	Se þe et min flæsc & drincð min blod; he wunað on me. & ic on hym.
6:57	swa swa libbende fader me sende & ic libbe þurh fæder & se þe me æt; he leofað þurh me.
6:58	Ðis ys se hlaf þe of heofenum com. na swa swa ure fæderes æte heofenlicene mete & deade wæren. Se þe et þysne hlaf. he leofeð on ecnysse.
6:59	Þas þyng he sægde on ge-somnunge þa he lærde on capharnaum.
6:60	Manega hys leorning-cnihte cwæðen þa hyo þis ge-hyrden. Heard ys þeos spræce hwa mæg hyo ge-hyran.
6:61	Ða wiste se hælend þæt hys leorning-cnihtas murcnedon be-tweox heom selfum be þyson. & he cwæð to heom ðæt eow be-swicð.
6:62	gyf ge ge-seoð mannes sune astigende þær he ær wes.
6:63	Gast ys se þe liffæst flæsc ne fremeð nan þing. þa word þe ic eow sayde synde gast & lyf.
6:64	ac sume ge ne lefeð. Witedlice se hælend wiste æt fruman hwæt þa ge-lefenden wæren. & hwa hine be-leawien wolde.
6:65	& he cwæð. For-þi ic eow sægde þæt nan man ne mæg cuman to me buton min fæder hyt hym sylle.
6:66	Seððan manega hys leorning-cnihta cyrden on-bæc & ne eoden mid hym.
6:67	Þa cwæð se hælend to þam twelfen cwæðe ge; wille ge fram me;
6:68	Ða andswerede hym symon petrus & cwæð. Drihton to hwam ga we. þu hafst echæs lifes word.
6:69	& we ge-lefed & witen þæt þu ert crist godes sune.
6:70	Se hælend hym andswerede & cwæð. Hu ne cheas ic eow twelfe. & eower an ys deofel.
6:71	he hyt cwæð be iuda scariothe þes hyne be-lawede þa he wæs an þare twelfa.


6:1	After these thinges, Iesus went his way ouer the sea of Galile, which is Tiberias.
6:2	And a great multitude followed him, because they sawe his miracles, which hee did on them that were diseased.
6:3	Then Iesus went vp into a mountaine, and there he sate with his disciples.
6:4	Now the Passeouer, a feast of the Iewes, was neere.
6:5	Then Iesus lift vp his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude came vnto him, hee sayde vnto Philippe, Whence shall we buy breade, that these might eate?
6:6	(And this he sayde to prooue him: for hee himselfe knewe what he would doe.)
6:7	Philippe answered him, Two hundreth penie worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that euery one of them may take a litle.
6:8	Then saide vnto him one of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peters brother,
6:9	There is a little boy heere, which hath fiue barlie loaues, and two fishes: but what are they among so many?
6:10	And Iesus saide, Make ye people sit downe. (Nowe there was much grasse in that place.) Then the men sate downe in nomber, about fiue thousande.
6:11	And Iesus tooke the bread, and gaue thanks, and gaue to the disciples, and the disciples, to them that were set downe: and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
6:12	And when they were satisfied, he said vnto his disciples, Gather vp the broken meat which remaineth, that nothing be lost.
6:13	Then they gathered it together, and filled twelue baskets with the broken meat of the fiue barly loaues, which remained vnto them that had eaten.
6:14	Then the men, when they had seene the miracle that Iesus did, saide, This is of a trueth that Prophet that should come into the world.
6:15	When Iesus therfore perceiued that they would come, and take him to make him a King, hee departed againe into a mountaine himselfe alone.
6:16	When euen was nowe come, his disciples went downe vnto the sea,
6:17	And entred into a shippe, and went ouer the sea, towardes Capernaum: and nowe it was darke, and Iesus was not come to them.
6:18	And the Sea arose with a great winde that blewe.
6:19	And when they had rowed about fiue and twentie, or thirtie furlongs, they sawe Iesus walking on the sea, and drawing neere vnto the ship: so they were afraide.
6:20	But he said vnto them, It is I: be not afraid.
6:21	Then willingly they receiued him into the ship, and the ship was by and by at the lande, whither they went.
6:22	The day following, the people which stoode on the other side of the sea, saw that there was none other ship there, saue that one, whereinto his disciples were entred, and that Iesus went not with his disciples in the ship, but that his disciples were gone alone,
6:23	And that there came other ships from Tiberias neere vnto the place where they ate the bread, after the Lord had giuen thankes.
6:24	Nowe when the people sawe that Iesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also tooke shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Iesus.
6:25	And when they had founde him on the other side of the sea, they sayde vnto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
6:26	Iesus answered them; and sayde, Verely, verely I say vnto you, ye seeke me not because ye sawe the miracles, but because yee ate of ye loaues, and were filled.
6:27	Labour not for ye meate which perisheth, but for the meate that endureth vnto euerlasting life, which the Sonne of man shall giue vnto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
6:28	Then sayde they vnto him, What shall we doe, that we might worke the workes of God?
6:29	Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them, This is the woorke of God, that yee beleeue in him, whome he hath sent.
6:30	They sayde therefore vnto him, What signe shewest thou then, that we may see it, and beleeue thee? what doest thou woorke?
6:31	Our fathers did eate Manna in the desart, as it is written, Hee gaue them bread from heauen to eate.
6:32	Then Iesus said vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, Moses gaue you not that bread from heauen, but my Father giueth you that true bread from heauen.
6:33	For the breade of God is hee which commeth downe from heauen, and giueth life vnto the world.
6:34	Then they said vnto him, Lord, euermore giue vs this bread.
6:35	And Iesus saide vnto them, I am that bread of life: he that commeth to me, shall not hunger, and he that beleeueth in me, shall neuer thirst.
6:36	But I said vnto you, that ye also haue seene me, and beleeue not.
6:37	All that the Father giueth me, shall come to mee: and him that commeth to me, I cast not away.
6:38	For I came downe from heauen, not to do mine owne wil, but his wil which hath sent me.
6:39	And this is the Fathers will which hath sent mee, that of all which hee hath giuen mee, I should lose nothing, but shoulde raise it vp againe at the last day.
6:40	And this is the will of him that sent mee, that euery man which seeth the Sonne, and beleeueth in him, should haue euerlasting life: and I will raise him vp at the last day.
6:41	The Iewes then murmured at him because hee sayde, I am that bread, which is come downe from heauen.
6:42	And they said, Is not this Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, whose father and mother wee knowe? howe then sayth he, I came downe from heauen?
6:43	Iesus then answered, and saide vnto them, Murmure not among your selues.
6:44	No man can come to mee, except the Father, which hath sent mee, drawe him: and I will raise him vp at the last day.
6:45	It is written in the Prophetes, And they shalbe al taught of God. Euery man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, commeth vnto me:
6:46	Not that any man hath seene the Father, saue hee which is of God, hee hath seene the Father.
6:47	Verely, verely I say vnto you, hee that beleeueth in me, hath euerlasting life.
6:48	I am that bread of life.
6:49	Your fathers did eate Manna in the wildernesse, and are dead.
6:50	This is that breade, which commeth downe from heauen, that hee which eateth of it, shoulde not die.
6:51	I am that liuing breade, which came downe from heauen: if any man eate of this breade, hee shall liue for euer: and the bread that I will giue, is my flesh, which I will giue for the life of the world.
6:52	Then the Iewes stroue among themselues, saying, Howe can this man giue vs his flesh to eate?
6:53	Then Iesus saide vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, Except yee eate the flesh of the Sonne of man, and drinke his blood, yee haue no life in you.
6:54	Whosoeuer eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternall life, and I will raise him vp at the last day.
6:55	For my flesh is meat in deede, and my blood is drinke in deede.
6:56	Hee that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
6:57	As that liuing Father hath sent me, so liue I by the Father, and he that eateth me, euen he shall liue by me.
6:58	This is that bread which came downe from heauen: not as your fathers haue eaten Manna, and are deade. Hee that eateth of this bread, shall liue for euer.
6:59	These things spake he in the Synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
6:60	Many therefore of his disciples (when they heard this) sayde, This is an hard saying: who can heare it?
6:61	But Iesus knowing in himselfe, that his disciples murmured at this, saide vnto them, Doeth this offend you?
6:62	What then if yee should see that Sonne of man ascend vp where he was before?
6:63	It is the spirite that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the woordes that I speake vnto you, are spirite and life.
6:64	But there are some of you that beleeue not: for Iesus knewe from the beginning, which they were that beleeued not, and who shoulde betray him.
6:65	And hee saide, Therefore saide I vnto you, that no man can come vnto mee, except it be giuen vnto him of my Father.
6:66	From that time, many of his disciples went backe, and walked no more with him.
6:67	Then sayde Iesus to the twelue, Will yee also goe away?
6:68	Then Simon Peter answered him, Master, to whome shall we goe? thou hast the wordes of eternall life:
6:69	And we beleeue and knowe that thou art that Christ that Sonne of the liuing God.
6:70	Iesus answered them, Haue not I chosen you twelue, and one of you is a deuill?
6:71	Now he spake it of Iudas Iscariot the sonne of Simon: for hee it was that shoulde betraie him, though he was one of the twelue.


6:1	After these thinges Iesus wet his waye over the see of Galile nye to a cyte called Tiberias.
6:2	And a greate multitude folowed him because they had sene his myracles which he dyd on them that were diseased.
6:3	And Iesus went vp into a mountayne and there he sate with his disciples.
6:4	And ester a feast of ye Iewes was nye.
6:5	Then Iesus lifte vp his eyes and sawe a greate copany come vnto him and sayde vnto Philip: whence shall we bye breed yt these might eate.
6:6	This he sayde to prove him: for he him sylfe knewe what he wolde do.
6:7	Philip answered him two hondred peny worthe of breed are not sufficient for them yt every ma have a litell.
6:8	Then sayde vnto him one of his disciples Andrew Simon Peters brother.
6:9	There ys a lad here which hath fyve barly loves and two fisshes: but what is that amoge so many?
6:10	And Iesus sayde. Make the people sit doune: Ther was moche grasse in the place. And the men sate doune in nombre about five thousande.
6:11	And Iesus toke the breed and gave thankes and gave to the disciples and his disciples to them that were set doune. And lykwyse of the fysshes as moche as they wolde.
6:12	When they had eate ynough he sayd vnto his disciples: gadder vp the broke meate that remayneth: that nothinge be loost.
6:13	And they gadered it to geder and fylled twelve baskettes with the broken meate of the five barly loves which broken meate remayned vnto the that had eaten.
6:14	Then the men when they had sene the myracle that Iesus dyd sayde: This is of a trueth the Prophet that shuld come into the worlde.
6:15	When Iesus perceaved that they wolde come and take him vp to make him kinge he departed agayne into a mountayne him silfe a lone.
6:16	And when eve was come his disciples wet vnto the see
6:17	and entred into a shyppe and went over the see vnto Capernaum. And anone it was darcke and Iesus was not come to them.
6:18	And ye see arose with a greate winde yt blew.
6:19	And when they had rowe aboute a .xxv. or a xxx. furlonges they sawe Iesus walke on ye see and drawe nye vnto the shyp and they were afrayed.
6:20	And he sayde vnto them: It is I be not a frayde.
6:21	Then wolde they have receaved him into the shyp and the ship was by and by at the londe whyther they went.
6:22	The daye folowynge the people which stode on the other syde of the see sawe that ther was none other shyp theare save yt one wher in his disciples were entred and that Iesus went not in with his disciples into the ship: but that his disciples were gone awaye alone.
6:23	How be it ther came other shippes from Tiberias nye vnto the place where they ate breed when the Lorde had blessed.
6:24	Then whe the people sawe that Iesus was not there nether his disciples they also toke shippinge and came to Caparnaum sekinge for Iesus.
6:25	And when they had founde him on ye other syde of ye see they sayd vnto him: Rabbi whe camest thou hidder?
6:26	Iesus answered them and sayde: verely verely I saye vnto you: ye seke me not because ye sawe the myracles: but because ye ate of the loves and were filled.
6:27	Laboure not for ye meate which perissheth but for ye meate that endureth vnto everlastynge lyfe whiche meate ye sonne of ma shall geve vnto you. For him hath god ye father sealed.
6:28	Then sayd they vnto him: what shall we do that we myght worke ye workes of God?
6:29	Iesus answered and sayde vnto them. This is ye worke of God that ye beleve on him who he hath sent.
6:30	They sayde vnto him: what signe shewest thou then that we maye se and beleve the? What doest thou worke?
6:31	Oure fathers dyd eate Manna in the desert as yt is writte: He gave them breed fro heaven to eate.
6:32	Iesus sayde vnto the: verely verely I saye vnto you: Moses gave you breed fro heave: but my father geveth you the true breed fro heave.
6:33	For the breed of God is he which cometh doune from heave and geveth lyfe vnto the worlde.
6:34	Then sayde they vnto him: Lorde ever moore geve vs this breed.
6:35	And Iesus sayde vnto them: I am that breed of life. He that cometh to me shall not honger: and he that beleveth on me shall never thurst.
6:36	But I sayed vnto you: that ye have sene me aud yet beleve not.
6:37	All that the father geveth me shall come to me: and him yt cometh to me I cast not awaye.
6:38	For I came doune fro heaven: not to do myne awne will but his will which hath sent me.
6:39	And this is the fathers will which hath sent me that of all which he hath geven me I shuld loose no thinge: but shuld rayse it vp agayne at the last daye.
6:40	And this is the wyll of him yt sent me: yt every man which seith ye sonne and beleveth on him have everlastinge lyfe. And I will rayse him vp at ye last daye.
6:41	The Iewes then murmured at him because he sayde: I am that breed which is come doune from heaven.
6:42	And they sayde: Is not this Iesus ye sonne of Ioseph whose father and mother we knowe? How ys yt then that he sayeth I came doune from heave?
6:43	Iesus answered and sayde vnto them. Murmur not betwene youre selves.
6:44	No man can come to me except the father which hath sent me drawe him. And I will rayse him vp at the last daye.
6:45	It is written in the Prophetes yt they shall all be taught of God. Every man therfore that hath hearde and hath learned of the father commeth vnto me.
6:46	Not that eny man hath sene ye father save he which is of God: the same hath sene the father.
6:47	Verely verely I saye vnto you he that beleveth on me hath everlastinge lyfe.
6:48	I am that breed of lyfe.
6:49	Youre fathers dyd eate Mana in ye wildernes and are deed.
6:50	This is that breed which cometh fro heave yt he which eateth of it shuld also not dye.
6:51	I am that lyvinge breed which came doune from heave. Yf eny man eate of this breed he shall live forever. And the breed that I will geve is my flesshe which I will geve for the lyfe of ye worlde
6:52	And the Iewes strove amoge them selves sayinge: How can this felowe geve vs his flesshe to eate?
6:53	Then Iesus sayde vnto them: Verely verely I saye vnto you except ye eate ye flesshe of ye sonne of man and drinke his bloude ye shall not have lyfe in you
6:54	Whosoever eateth my flesshe and drinketh my bloude hath eternall lyfe: and I will rayse him vp at the last daye.
6:55	For my flesshe is meate in dede: and my bloude is drynke in dede.
6:56	He that eateth my flesshe and drynketh my bloude dwelleth in me and I in him.
6:57	As the lyvinge father hath sent me even so lyve I by my father: and he that eateth me shall live by me.
6:58	This is the breed which cam from heave: not as youre fathers have eaten Manna and are deed. He that eateth of this breed shall live ever.
6:59	These thinges sayd he in the synagoge as he taught in Capernaum.
6:60	Many of his disciples when they had herde this sayde: this is an herde sayinge: who can abyde the hearinge of it?
6:61	Iesus knew in him selfe that his disciples murmured at it and sayde vnto them: Doth this offende you?
6:62	What and yf ye shall se the sonne of man ascede vp where he was before?
6:63	It is the sprete that quyckeneth the flesshe proffeteth nothinge. The wordes that I speake vnto you are sprete and lyfe.
6:64	But ther are some of you that beleve not. For Iesus knewe from the begynnynge which they were that beleved not and who shuld betraye him.
6:65	And he sayde: Therfore sayde I vnto you: that no man can come vnto me except it were geven vnto him of my father.
6:66	From that tyme many of his disciples wet backe and walked no moore with him.
6:67	Then sayde Iesus to the twelve: will ye alsoo goo awaye?
6:68	Then Simon Peter answered: Master to whom shall we goo? Thou haste the wordes of eternall lyfe
6:69	and we beleve and knowe yt thou arte Christ the sonne of the lyvinge God.
6:70	Iesus answered them: Have not I chosen you twelve and yet one of you is the devyll?
6:71	He spake it of Iudas Iscariot the sonne of Simon. For he it was yt shuld betraye him and was one of the twelve.
