John - Chapter: 15


15:1	I am the true vyne, and my father is the husbandman.
15:2	Euery braunche that beareth not frute in me, he will take awaye. And euery braunche that beareth frute, will he pourge, that it maye bring forth more frute.
15:3	Nowe are ye cleane thorow the wordes which I haue spoken vnto you.
15:4	Byde in me, and I in you. As the braunche cannot beare frute of it selfe, excepte it byde in the vyne: nomore can ye, except ye abyde in me.
15:5	I am the vyne, ye are the braunches. He that abydeth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth moche frute. For without me can ye do nothing.
15:6	If a man byde not in me, he is cast forth as a braunche, & is wythered: and men gather them: and cast them into the fyre, and they burne.
15:7	If ye byde in me, and my wordes abyde in you: aske what ye wyll, and it shalbe done for you.
15:8	Herin is my father glorifyed: that ye beare moch frute, and become my disciples.
15:9	As the father hath loued me, euen so haue I also loued you. Continue ye in my loue.
15:10	If ye kepe my commaundementes, ye shall byde in my loue, euen as I haue kepte my fathers commaundementes, & byde in hys loue.
15:11	These thynges haue I spoken vnto you, that my ioye myghte remayne vnto you, and that youre ioye myght be full.
15:12	Thys is my commaundement, that ye loue together, as I haue loued you.
15:13	Greater loue hath no man, then thys: that a man bestowe hys lyfe for his frendes.
15:14	Ye are my frendes, yf ye do whatsoeuer I commaunde you.
15:15	Hence forth call I you not seruauntes: for the seruaunt knoweth not what hys lorde doeth. But you haue I called frendes: for all thynges that I haue heard of my father, haue I opened to you.
15:16	Ye haue not chosen me, but I haue chosen you, and ordeyned you, to goo, and brynge forth frute, and that your frute shuld remayne, that whatsoeuer ye aske of the father in my name, he maye geue it you.
15:17	This commaunde I you, that ye loue together.
15:18	If the worlde hate you, ye knowe that it hated me before it hated you.
15:19	If ye were of the worlde, the worlde wolde loue his awne. Howbeit, because ye are not of the world. But I haue chosen you out of the world therfore the world hateth you.
15:20	Remember the worde that I sayd vnto you: the seruaunt is not greater then the lorde. If they haue persecuted me, they wyll also persecute you. If they haue kept my saying, they will kepe youres also.
15:21	But all these thinges wyll they do vnto you for my names sake, because they haue not knowen hym that sent me.
15:22	If I had not come and spoken vnto them, they shuld haue had no synne: but now haue they nothyng to cloke their synne withall.
15:23	He that hateth me, hateth my father also:
15:24	If I had not done amonge them the workes whych none other man dyd, they shuld haue had no synne. But now haue they both sene, & hated: not onely me but also my father.
15:25	But thys happeneth that the sayinge myght be fulfylled, that is writen in their lawe: they hated me without a cause.
15:26	But when the comforter is come, whom I will sende vnto you from the father (euen the sprete of treuth, which proceadeth of the father) he shall testifye of me.
15:27	And ye shall beare witnesse also, because ye haue bene with me from the begynning.


15:1	Y am a very vyne, and my fadir is an erthe tilier.
15:2	Ech braunch in me that berith not fruyt, he schal take awey it; and ech that berith fruyt, he schal purge it, that it bere the more fruyt.
15:3	Now ye ben clene, for the word that Y haue spokun to you.
15:4	Dwelle ye in me, and Y in you; as a braunche may not make fruyt of it silf, but it dwelle in the vyne, so nether ye, but ye dwelle in me.
15:5	Y am a vyne, ye the braunchis. Who that dwellith in me, and Y in hym, this berith myche fruyt, for with outen me ye moun no thing do.
15:6	If ony man dwellith not in me, he schal be caste out as a braunche, and schal wexe drie; and thei schulen gadere hym, and thei schulen caste hym in to the fier, and he brenneth.
15:7	If ye dwellen in me, and my wordis dwelle in you, what euer thing ye wolen, ye schulen axe, and it schal be don to you.
15:8	In this thing my fadir is clarified, that ye brynge forth ful myche fruyt, and that ye be maad my disciplis.
15:9	As my fadir louede me, Y haue loued you; dwelle ye in my loue.
15:10	If ye kepen my comaundementis, ye schulen dwelle in my loue; as Y haue kept the comaundementis of my fadir, and Y dwelle in his loue.
15:11	These thingis Y spak to you, that my ioye be in you, and youre ioye be fulfillid.
15:12	This is my comaundement, that ye loue togidere, as Y louede you.
15:13	No man hath more loue than this, that a man putte his lijf for hise freendis.
15:14	Ye ben my freendis if ye doen tho thingis, that Y comaunde to you.
15:15	Now Y schal not clepe you seruauntis, for the seruaunt woot not, what his lord schal do; but Y haue clepid you freendis, for alle thingis what euere Y herde of my fadir, Y haue maad knowun to you.
15:16	Ye han not chosun me, but Y chees you; and Y haue put you, that ye go, and brynge forth fruyt, and youre fruyt dwelle; that what euere thing ye axen the fadir in my name, he yyue to you.
15:17	These thingis Y comaunde to you, that ye loue togidere.
15:18	If the world hatith you, wite ye, that it hadde me in hate rather than you.
15:19	If ye hadden be of the world, the world schulde loue that thing that was his; but for ye ben not of the world, but Y chees you fro the world, therfor the world hatith you.
15:20	Haue ye mynde of my word, which Y seide to you, The seruaunt is not grettere than his lord. If thei han pursued me, thei schulen pursue you also; if thei han kept my word, thei schulen kepe youre also.
15:21	But thei schulen do to you alle these thingis for my name, for thei knowen not hym that sente me.
15:22	If Y hadde not comun, and hadde not spokun to hem, thei schulden not haue synne; but now thei haue noon excusacioun of her synne.
15:23	He that hatith me, hatith also my fadir.
15:24	If Y hadde not doon werkis in hem, whiche noon other man dide, thei schulden not haue synne; but now both thei han seyn, and hatid me and my fadir.
15:25	But that the word be fulfillid, that is writun in her lawe, For thei hadden me in hate with outen cause.
15:26	But whanne the coumfortour schal come, which Y schal sende to you fro the fadir, a spirit of treuthe, which cometh of the fadir, he schal bere witnessyng of me;
15:27	ye schulen bere witnessyng, for ye ben with me fro the bigynnyng.

15:2	Euery braunch that bringeth not forth frute in me, shal he cut of: and euery one that bryngeth forth frute, shal he pourge, yt it maye bringe forth more frute.
15:3	Now are ye cleane, because of the worde, that I haue spoke vnto you.
15:4	Byde ye in me, and I in you. Like as ye braunch can not brynge forth frute of it self excepte it byde in the vyne, Euen so nether ye also, excepte ye abyde in me.
15:5	I am the vyne, ye are the braunches. He that abydeth in me, and I in him, the same bryngeth forth moch frute: for without me can ye do nothinge.
15:6	He that abydeth not in me, is cast out as a vyne braunche, and it wythereth, and men gather it vp, and cast it in to the fyre, and it burneth.
15:7	Yf ye abyde in me, and my wordes abyde in you, ye shal axe what ye wyl, & it shal be done vnto you.
15:8	Herin is my father praysed, that ye brynge forth moch frute, and become my disciples.
15:9	Like as my father hath loued me, eue so haue I loued you. Cotynue ye i my loue.
15:10	Yf ye kepe my comaundementes, ye shal cotynue in my loue: like as I haue kepte my fathers comaundementes, and cotynue in his loue.
15:11	These thinges haue I spoken vnto you, that my ioye might remayne in you, and yt youre ioye might be perfecte.
15:12	This is my comaundement, that ye loue together, as I haue loued you.
15:13	No man hath greater loue, then to set his life for his frende.
15:14	Ye are my frendes, yf ye do that I commaunde you.
15:15	Hence forth call I you not seruauntes, for a seruaunt knoweth not what his lorde doeth. But I haue sayde that ye are frendes: For all that I haue herde of my father, haue I shewed vnto you.
15:16	Ye haue not chosen me, but I haue chosen you, and ordeyned you, that ye go, and bringe forth frute, and that youre frute contynne, that what soeuer ye axe the father in my name, he shulde geue it you.
15:17	This I commaunde you, that ye loue one another.
15:18	Yf the worlde hate you, then knowe, that it hath hated me before you.
15:19	Yf ye were of the worlde, the worlde wolde loue his awne. Howbeit because ye are not of the worlde, but I haue chosen you from the worlde, therfore the worlde hateth you.
15:20	Remembre my worde, that I sayde vnto you: The seruaunt is not greater then his lorde. Yf they haue persecuted me, they shal persecute you also: Yf they haue kepte my worde, they shal kepe yours also.
15:21	But all this shal they do vnto you for my names sake, because they knowe not him yt sent me.
15:22	Yf I had not come & spoke vnto the, the shulde they haue no synne But now haue they nothinge to cloake their synne withall.
15:23	He yt hateth me, hateth my father also.
15:24	Yf I had not done amoge the the workes which no other ma dyd, they shulde haue no synne. But now haue they sene it, and yet haue they hated both me & my father.
15:25	Neuertheles that the sayenge might be fulfilled, which is wrytten in their lawe: They haue hated me without a cause.
15:26	But wha the comforter commeth, who I shal sende you from the father eue the sprete of trueth which proceadeth of the father, he shal testifie of me
15:27	and ye shal beare wytnesse also: for ye haue bene with me from the begynnynge.
