9:1But Saul, yit a blower of manassis and of betingis ayens the disciplis of the Lord,
9:2cam to the prince of preestis, and axide of hym lettris in to Damask, to the synagogis; that if he fond ony men and wymmen of this lijf, he schulde lede hem boundun to Jerusalem.
9:3And whanne he made his iourney, it bifelde, that he cam nyy to Damask. And sudenli a liyt from heuene schoon aboute hym;
9:4and he fallide to the erthe, and herde a vois seiynge to hym, Saul, Saul, what pursuest thou me?
9:5And he seide, Who art thou, Lord? And he seide, Y am Jhesu of Nazareth, whom thou pursuest. It is hard to thee, to kike ayens the pricke.
9:6And he tremblide, and wondride, and seide, Lord, what wolt thou that Y do?
9:7And the Lord seide to hym, Rise vp, and entre in to the citee, and it schal be seide to thee, what it bihoueth thee to do. And tho men that wenten with hym, stoden astonyed; for thei herden a vois, but thei sien no man.
9:8And Saul roos fro the earth; and whanne hise iyen weren opened, he say no thing. And thei drowen hym bi the hondis, and ledden hym in to Damask.
9:9And he was thre daies not seynge; `and he eete not, nether drank.
9:10And a disciple, Ananye bi name, was at Damask. And the Lord seide to hym in `a visioun, Ananye. And he seide, Lo!
9:11Y, Lord. And the Lord seide to hym, Rise thou, and go in to a streete that is clepid Rectus; and seke, in the hous of Judas, Saul bi name of Tharse. For lo! he preieth; and he say a man,
9:12Ananye bi name, entringe and leiynge on hym hoondis, that he resseyue siyt.
9:13And Ananye answerde, Lord, Y haue herd of many of this man, how greete yuelis he dide to thi seyntis in Jerusalem;
9:14and this hath power of the princis of preestis, to bynde alle men that clepen thi name to helpe.
9:15And the Lord seide to hym, Go thou, for this is to me a vessel of chesing, that he bere my name bifore hethene men, and kingis, and tofore the sones of Israel.
9:16For Y schal schewe to hym, how grete thingis it bihoueth hym to suffre for my name.
9:17And Ananye wente, and entride in to the hous; and leide on hym his hondis, and seide, Saul brothir, the Lord Jhesu sente me, that apperide to thee in the weie, in which thou camest, that thou se, and be fulfillid with the Hooli Goost.
9:18And anoon as the scalis felden fro hise iyen, he resseyuede siyt. And he roos, and was baptisid.
9:19And whanne he hadde takun mete, he was coumfortid. And he was bi sum daies with the disciplis, that weren at Damask.
9:20And anoon he entride in to the synagogis, and prechide the Lord Jhesu, for this is the sone of God.
9:21And alle men that herden hym, wondriden, and seiden, Whether this is not he that impugnede in Jerusalem hem that clepiden to help this name? and hidir he cam for this thing, that he schulde leede hem boundun to the princis of preestis?
9:22But Saul myche more wexede strong, and confoundide the Jewis that dwelliden at Damask, and affermyde that this is Crist.
9:23And whanne manye daies weren fillid, Jewis maden a counsel, that thei schulden sle hym.
9:24And the aspies of hem weren maad knowun to Saul. And thei kepten the yatis dai and niyt, that thei schulden sle him.
9:25But hise disciplis token hym bi nyyt, and delyuereden hym, and leeten him doun in a leep bi the wal.
9:26And whanne he cam in to Jerusalem, he assaiede to ioyne hym to the disciplis; and alle dredden hym, and leueden not that he was a disciple.
9:27But Barnabas took, and ledde hym to the apostlis, and telde to hem, how in the weie he hadde seyn the Lord, and that he spak to hym, and hou in Damask he dide tristili in the name of Jhesu.
9:28And he was with hem, and entride, and yede out in Jerusalem, and dide tristili in the name of Jhesu.
9:29And he spak with hethene men, and disputide with Grekis. And thei souyten to sle hym.
9:30Which thing whanne the britheren hadden knowe, thei ledden hym bi nyyt to Cesarie, and leten hym go to Tarsis.
9:31And the chirche bi al Judee, and Galilee, and Samarie, hadde pees, and was edefied, and walkide in the drede of the Lord, and was fillid with coumfort of the Hooli Goost.
9:32And it bifelde, that Petre, the while he passide aboute alle, cam to the hooli men that dwelliden at Lidde.
9:33And he foond a man, Eneas bi name, that fro eiyte yeer he hadde leie `in bed; and he was sijk in palsy.
9:34And Petre seide to hym, Eneas, the Lord Jhesu Crist heele thee; rise thou, and araye thee. And anoon he roos.
9:35And alle men that dwelten at Lidde, and at Sarone, saien hym, whiche weren conuertid to the Lord.
9:36And in Joppe was a disciplesse, whos name was Tabita, that is to seie, Dorcas. This was ful of good werkis and almesdedis, that sche dide.
9:37And it bifelde in tho daies, that sche was sijk, and diede. And whanne thei hadden waischun hir, thei leiden hir in a soler.
9:38And for Lidda was nyy Joppe, the disciplis herden that Petre was thereynne, and senten twei men to hym, and preieden, That thou tarie not to come to vs.
9:39And Petre roos vp, and cam with hem. And whanne he was comun, thei ledden hym in to the soler. And alle widewis stoden aboute hym, wepynge, and schewynge cootis and clothis, which Dorcas made to hem.
9:40And whanne alle men weren put with out forth, Petre knelide, and preiede. And he turnede to the bodi, and seide, Tabita, rise thou. And sche openyde hir iyen, and whanne sche siy Petre, sche sat vp ayen.
9:41And he took hir bi the hond, and reiside hir. And whanne he hadde clepid the hooli men and widewis, he assignede hir alyue.
9:42And it was maad knowun bi al Joppe; and many bileueden in the Lord.
9:43And it was maad, that many daies he dwellide in Joppe, at oon Symount, a curiour.

9:2and desyred of him letters to Damasco to ye synagoges: that yf he founde eny of this waye whether they were men or wemen he myght bringe them bounde vnto Ierusalem.
9:3But as he went on his iorney it fortuned yt he drue nye to Damasco and sodenly ther shyned rounde about him a lyght fro heven.
9:4And he fell to ye erth and hearde a voyce sayinge to him: Saul Saul why persecutest thou me?
9:5And he sayde what arte thou lorde? And the lorde sayd I am Iesus whom thou persecutest it shalbe harde for ye to kycke agaynst ye pricke.
9:6And he bothe tremblynge and astonyed sayde: Lorde what wilt thou have me to do? And ye Lorde sayde vnto him: aryse and goo into the cite and it shalbe tolde the what thou shalt do.
9:7The men which iornayed with him stode amased for they herde a voyce but sawe no man.
9:8And Saul arose from the erth and opened his eyes but sawe no man. Then ledde they him by the honde and brought him into Damasco.
9:9And he was .iii. dayes with out syght and nether ate nor dranke.
9:10And ther was a certayne disciple at Damasco named Ananias and to him sayde the lorde in a vision: Ananias. And the he sayde: beholde I am here lorde.
9:11And the lorde sayde to him: aryse and goo into the strete which is called strayght and seke in the housse of Iudas after one called Saul of Tharsus. For beholde he prayeth
9:12and hath sene in a vision a man named Ananias comynge in to him and puttynge his hondes on him that he myght receave his syght.
9:13Then Ananias answered: Lorde I have hearde by many of this man how moche evell he hath done to thy sainctes at Ierusalem
9:14and here he hath auctorite of the hye prestes to bynde all that call on thy name.
9:15The lorde sayde vnto him: Goo thy wayes: for he is a chosen vessell vnto me to beare my name before the gentyls and kynges and the chyldren of Israel.
9:16For I will shewe him how great thinges he must suffre for my names sake.
9:17Ananias went his waye and entryd into ye housse and put his hondes on him and sayde: brother Saul the lorde that apperyd vnto the in the waye as thou camst hath sent me that thou myghtest receave thy syght and be filled with the holy goost.
9:18And immediatly ther fell from his eyes as it had bene scales and he receaved syght and arose and was baptised
9:19and receaved meate and was comforted. Then was Saul a certayne daye wt the disciples which were at Damasco.
9:20And streyght waye he preached Christ in the synagoges how that he was the sonne of God.
9:21All that hearde him were amased and sayde: is not this he that spoyled the which called on this name in Ierusalem and came hyther for ye entent that he shuld bringe the bounde vnto the hye prestes?
9:22But Saul encreased in stregth and confounded the Iewes which dwelte at Damasco affirminge that this was very Christ.
9:23And after a good whyle ye Iewes toke counsell to gether to kyll him.
9:24But their layinge awayte was knowen of Saul. And they watched at the gates daye and nyght to kyll him.
9:25Then ye disciples toke him by night and put him thorow the wall and let him doune in a basket.
9:26And when Saul was come to Ierusalem he assayde to cople him silfe with ye discyples and they were all afrayde of hym and beleued not that he was a disciple.
9:27But Bernabas toke hym and brought hym to ye apostles and declared to the how he had sene ye Lorde in ye waye and had spoke wyth hym: and how he had done boldely at damasco in the name of Iesu.
9:28And he had his conuersacion with them at Ierusalem
9:29and quit hym silfe boldly in the name of the lorde Iesu. And he spake and disputed wyth the grekes: and they went aboute to slee hym.
9:30But when the brethren knew of that they brought hym to cesarea and sent hym forth to Tharsus.
9:31Then had ye congregacios rest thorowoute all Iewry and galile and Samary and were edified and walked in the feare of the lorde and multiplied by the comforte of the holy gost.
9:32And it chaunsed yt as Peter walked throughoute all quarters he ca to ye saynctes which dwelt at Lydda
9:33and there he foude a certayne ma namyd Eneas whych had kepte hys bed viii. yere sicke of the palsie.
9:34Then sayde Peter vnto hym: Eneas Iesus Christ make ye whole. Aryse and make thy beed. And he arose immedyatly.
9:35And all that dwelt at lydda and assaron sawe hym and tourned to the lorde.
9:36Ther was at Ioppe a certayne woma (whiche was a disciple named Tabitha which by interpretacion is called dorcas) the same was full of good workes and almes dedes which she did.
9:37And it chaunsed in those dayes that she was sicke and dyed. When they had wesshed her and layd her in a chamber:
9:38Because Lydda was nye to Ioppa and the disciples had hearde that Peter was there they sent vnto hym desyrynge him that he wolde not be greved to come vnto them.
9:39Peter arose and came with them and when he was come they brought him in to ye chamber. And all ye wydowes stode roude aboute hym wepynge and shewynge the cotes and garmentes which Dorcas made whill she was with the.
9:40And Peter put the all forth and kneled doune and prayde and turned him to ye body and sayde: Tabitha aryse. And she opened her eyes and whe she sawe Peter she sat vp.
9:41And he gave her ye honde and lyft her up and called the sainctes and wydowes and shewed her alyve.
9:42And it was knowne throwout all Ioppa and many beleved on the Lorde.
9:43And it fortuned that he taryed many dayes in Ioppa with one Simon a tanner.

9:5He sayde: LORDE, who art thou? The LORDE sayde: I am Iesus, who thou persecutest. It shalbe harde for ye to kycke agaynst the prycke.

9:8Saul rose from the earth, and whan he had opened his eyes, he sawe noman. Neuertheles they toke him by the honde, & broughte him to Damasco:
9:9and he was thre dayes without sighte, and nether ate ner dranke.
9:10At Damascon there was a disciple named Ananias, and vnto him sayde the LORDE in a vision: Ananias And he sayde: beholde, here am I LORDE.
9:11The LORDE sayde vnto him: Aryse, and go in to the strete which is called straight, and axe in the house of Iuda after one called Saul of Tharsis: for beholde, he prayeth,
9:12& hath sene in a vision a ma named Ananias comynge vnto him, & layenge the hade vpo him, that he mighte receaue his sighte.
9:13Ananias answered: LORDE, I haue herde by many of this mau, how moch euell he hath done to thy sayntes at Ierusale.
9:14And here hath he auctorite of the hye prestes, to bynde all those yt call vpon thy name.
9:15The LORDE sayde vnto him: Go thy waye, for this man is a chosen vessell vnto me, that he maye beare my name before the Heythen, and before kynges, and before the children of Israel.
9:16I wil shewe him, how greate thinges he must suffre for my names sake.
9:17And Ananias wente his waye, and came in to the house, and layed the handes vpon him, and sayde: Brother Saul, the LORDE which appeared vnto ye in the waye as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receaue thy sight, and be fylled with the holy g
9:18And immediatly there fell from his eyes as it had bene scales, and he receaued his sighte, and rose, and was baptysed,
9:19and toke meate, and was conforted.Then was Saul a certayne dayes with the disciples that were at Damascon.
9:20And straight waye he preached Christ in the synagoges, how that he was ye sonne of God.
9:21But all they that herde him, were amased, and sayde: Is not this he, which at Ierusalem spoyled all those that called on his name? and came hither to the intent that he shulde brynge them bounde vnto the hye prestes?
9:22But Saul increased in strength, & cofounded ye Iewes which dwelt at Damascon, and affirmed yt this was very Christ.
9:23And after many dayes the Iewes helde a councell together to kyll him.
9:24But it was tolde Saul, that they layed wayte for him. And they wayted at ye gates daye & night, that they might kyll him.
9:25Then the disciples toke him by nighte, & put him thorow the wall, and let him downe in a baskett.
9:26But whan Saul came to Ierusalem, he assayed to ioyne himself to ye disciples. And they were all afrayed of him, and beleued not, yt he was a disciple.
9:27Neuertheles Barnabas toke him, and broughte him to the Apostles, and tolde them how he had sene the LORDE in the waye, and how he spake to him, & how he had done boldly at Damascon in the name of Iesu.
9:28And he was with them, and wente out and in at Ierusale,
9:29and quyte him selfe boldly in ye name of ye LORDE Iesu. He spake also, and disputed with ye Grekes. But they wete aboute to slaye him.
9:30Whan the brethren knewe yt, they brought him to Cesarea, and sent him forth to Tharsis.
9:31So the congregacions had rest thorow out all Iewry, and Galile, and Samaria, & were edified, and walked in the feare of the LORDE, and were fylled with the comforte of the holy goost.

9:33There founde he a man named Eneas, which had lyen vpon his bedd eight yeares sicke of ye palsye.
9:34And Peter sayde vnto him: Eneas, Iesus Christ make the whole, aryse, and make thy bedd for yi self. And he arose immediatly.
9:35And all they that dwelt at Lydda and at Sarona, sawe him, and turned vnto the LORDE.
9:36At Ioppa there was a certayne woman that was a disciple, named Tabitha, which by interpretacion is called Dorcas: ye same was full of good workes and almesse dedes, which she dyd.
9:37But it chaunced at the same tyme, that she was sicke, and dyed. Then wasshed they her, and layed her in a chaber.
9:38But for so moch as Lydda was nye vnto Ioppa, and the disciples herde that Peter was there, they sent two men vnto him, and desyred him, yt he wolde take it for no grefe to come vnto them.
9:39Peter rose, and came with the. And wha he was come, they broughte him in to the chamber, and all the wyddowes stode rounde aboute him, wepynge, and shewed him the cotes and garmetes, which Dorcas made whyle she was with them.
9:40And wha Peter had put them all forth, he kneled downe, made his prayer, and turned him vnto the body, and sayde: Tabitha, ryse vp. And she opened hir eyes: and whan she sawe Peter she sat hir downe agayne.
9:41But he gaue her the hande, and lifte her vp, and called the sayntes and the wedowes, and shewed her there alyue.
9:42And it was knowne thorow out all Ioppa, & many beleued on ye LORDE.
9:43And it fortuned, yt he taried a loge season at Ioppa by one Simo, which was a tanner.
