1 Corinthians - Chapter: 11

>
11:1Be followers of me, just as I also am of Christ.
11:2Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you.
11:3But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
11:4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.
11:5But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, because, that is one and the same as if her head were shaved.
11:6Because, if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.
11:7Because, a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.
11:8Because, the man is not from the woman, but the woman from the man.
11:9Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.
11:10For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
11:11Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord.
11:12Because, as woman came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God.
11:13Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God uncovered?
11:14Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
11:15But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; because her hair is given to her for a covering.
11:16But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.
11:17Now in giving these instructions to you I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse.
11:18Because, first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
11:19Because, there must also be heresies among you, that those who are approved may be identified among you.
11:20Therefore when you come together into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's Supper.
11:21Because, in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another drinks to the full.
11:22What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.
11:23Because, I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
11:24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
11:25In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new testament in My blood. This do, each time you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
11:26Because, every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.
11:27Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
11:28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
11:29Because, he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
11:30For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
11:31Because if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
11:32But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
11:33Therefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
11:34But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for condemnation. And the rest I will set in order when I come.

11:1Be yee followers of mee, euen as I am of Christ.
11:2Now brethren, I commend you, that ye remember all my things, and keepe the ordinances, as I deliuered them to you.
11:3But I wil that ye know, that Christ is the head of euery man: and the man is the womans head: and God is Christs head.
11:4Euery man praying or prophecying hauing any thing on his head, dishonoureth his head.
11:5But euery woman that prayeth or prophecieth bare headed, dishonoureth her head: for it is euen one very thing, as though she were shauen.
11:6Therefore if the woman be not couered, let her also be shorne: and if it be shame for a woman to be shorne or shauen, let her be couered.
11:7For a man ought not to couer his head: for as much as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
11:8For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.
11:9For the man was not created for the womans sake: but the woman for the mans sake.
11:10Therefore ought the woman to haue power on her head, because of the Angels.
11:11Neuertheles, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord.
11:12For as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman: but all things are of God.
11:13Iudge in your selues, Is it comely that a woman pray vnto God vncouered?
11:14Doeth not nature it selfe teach you, that if a man haue long heare, it is a shame vnto him?
11:15But if a woman haue long heare, it is a prayse vnto her: for her heare is giuen her for a couering.
11:16But if any man lust to be contentious, we haue no such custome, neither the Churches of God.
11:17Nowe in this that I declare, I prayse you not, that ye come together, not with profite, but with hurt.
11:18For first of all, when ye come together in the Church, I heare that there are dissentions among you: and I beleeue it to be true in some part.
11:19For there must be heresies euen among you, that they which are approoued among you, might be knowen.
11:20When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eate the Lords Supper.
11:21For euery man when they should eate, taketh his owne supper afore, and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
11:22Haue ye not houses to eate and to drinke in? despise ye the Church of God, and shame them that haue not? what shall I say to you? shall I prayse you in this? I prayse you not.
11:23For I haue receiued of the Lord that which I also haue deliuered vnto you, to wit, That the Lord Iesus in the night when he was betrayed, tooke bread:
11:24And when hee had giuen thankes, hee brake it, and sayde, Take, eate: this is my body, which is broken for you: this doe ye in remembrance of me.
11:25After the same maner also he tooke the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the Newe Testament in my blood: this doe as oft as ye drinke it, in remembrance of me.
11:26For as often as ye shall eate this bread, and drinke this cup, ye shewe the Lords death till hee come.
11:27Wherefore, whosoeuer shall eate this bread, and drinke the cup of the Lord vnworthily, shall be guiltie of the body and blood of the Lord.
11:28Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup.
11:29For he that eateth and drinketh vnworthily, eateth and drinketh his owne damnation, because he discerneth not the Lords body.
11:30For this cause many are weake, and sicke among you, and many sleepe.
11:31For if we would iudge our selues, we should not be iudged.
11:32But when we are iudged, we are chastened of the Lord, because we should not be condemned with the world.
11:33Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eate, tary one for another.
11:34And if any man be hungry, let him eate at home, that ye come not together vnto condemnation. Other things will I set in order when I come.

11:1I commende you
11:2brethren that ye remeber me in all thinges and kepe the ordinaunces even as I delyvered them to you.
11:3I wolde ye knew that Christ is the heed of every man. And the man is the womans heed. And God is Christes heed.
11:4Eevery ma prayinge or prophesyinge havynge eny thynge on his heed shameth his heed.
11:5Every woman that prayeth or prophisieth bare hedded dishonesteth hyr heed. For it is even all one and the very same thinge even as though she were shaven.
11:6If the woman be not covered lett her also be shoren. If it be shame for a woma to be shorne or shave let her cover her heed.
11:7A man ought not to cover his heed for as moche as he is the image and glory of God. The woman is the glory of the man.
11:8For the man is not of the woman but the woman of the ma.
11:9Nether was the man created for ye womas sake: but the woma for the mannes sake
11:10For this cause ought the woma to have power on her heed for the angels sakes.
11:11Neverthelesse nether is the ma with oute the woma nether the woma with out the man in the lorde.
11:12For as the woman is of the man eve so is the man by the woman: but all is of God.
11:13Iudge in youre selves whether it be coly yt a woman praye vnto god bare heeded.
11:14Or els doth not nature teach you that it is a shame for a man
11:15if he have longe heere: and a prayse to a woman yf she have longe heere? For her heere is geven her to cover her with all.
11:16If there be eny man amonge you yt lusteth to stryve let him knowe that we have no soche custome nether the congregacions of God.
11:17This I warne you of and commende not that ye come to gedder: not after a better maner but after a worsse.
11:18Fyrst of all when ye come togedder in the cogregacion I heare that ther is dissencion amonge you: and I partly beleve it.
11:19For ther must be sectes amonge you that they which are perfecte amonge you myght be knowen.
11:20When ye come to gedder a man cannot eate the lordes supper. For every man begynneth a fore to eate his awne supper.
11:21And one is hongrye and another is dronken. Have ye not houses to eate and to drinke in?
11:22Or els despyse ye the congregacion of god and shame them that have not? What shall I saye vnto you? shall I prayse you: In this prayse I you not.
11:23That which I delyvered vnto you I receaved of ye lorde. For ye lorde Iesus the same nyght in which he was betrayed toke breed:
11:24and thanked and brake and sayde. Take ye and eate ye: this is my body which is broken for you. This do ye in the remembraunce of me.
11:25After the same maner he toke the cup when sopper was done sayinge. This cup is the newe testament in my bloude. This do as oft as ye drynke it in the remebraunce of me.
11:26For as often as ye shall eate this breed and drynke this cup ye shall shewe the lordes deeth tyll he come.
11:27Wherfore whosoevere shall eate of this bred or drynke of the cup vnworthely shalbe giltie of the body and bloud of the Lorde
11:28Let a ma therfore examen him silfe and so let hi eate of the breed and drynke of the cup.
11:29For he yt eateth or drinketh vnworthely eateth and drynketh his awne damnacion because he maketh no difference of the lordis body.
11:30For this cause many are weake and sicke amoge you and many slepe.
11:31Yf we had truly iudged oure selves we shuld not have bene iudged.
11:32But when we are iudged of the lorde we are chastened because we shuld not be daned with the worlde.
11:33Wherfore my brethren when ye come to gedder to eate tary one for another.
11:34Yf eny ma hoger let hi eate at home yt ye come not togedder vnto condenacio. Other thinges will I set in order whe I come.
