| 8:1 | I do you to wyt brethren, of the grace of God, which is geuen in the congregacyons of Macedonia, |
| 8:2 | howe that the aboundaunce of theyr reioysynge is, that they are tryed with muche trybulacyon. And therto thoughe they were excedynge poore, yet haue they geuen excedynge richelye, and that in synglenesse. |
| 8:3 | For to theyr powers (I beare recorde) ye and beyonde theyr power, they were wyllynge of theyr owne accorde, |
| 8:4 | & prayed vs with great instaunce that we would receyue theyr benefyte, and suffer them to be partakers with other in mynystrynge to the saynctes. |
| 8:5 | And thys they dyd, not as we loked for: but gaue theyr owne selues fyrste to the Lorde, and after vnto vs by the wyl of God: |
| 8:6 | so that we coulde not but desyre Titus to accomplyshe the same beneuolence amonge you also, euen as he had begonne. |
| 8:7 | Nowe therfore, as ye are ryche in al partties in fayth, in worde, in knoweledge, in all feruentnes, and in loue, which ye haue to vs: euen so se that ye be plenteous in thys beneuolence. |
| 8:8 | Thys saye I not as commaundyng: but because other are so feruente, therfore proue I youre loue, whether it be perfecte or no. |
| 8:9 | Ye knowe the lyberalytie of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, whiche though he were ryche, yet for youre sakes became pore that ye thorowe hys pouertye myght be made ryche. |
| 8:10 | And I geue counsell hereto. For thys is expediente for you, whiche beganne, not to do onelye, but also to wyll, a yeare a go. |
| 8:11 | Nowe therfore performe the dede: that as there was in you a redynes to wyll, euen so ye may performe the dede of that whiche ye haue. |
| 8:12 | For yf there be fyrste a wyllynge mynde, it is accepted accordyng to that a man hath, and not accordynge to that he hath not. |
| 8:13 | It is not my mynde that other be set at ease, and ye broughte into combraunce: |
| 8:14 | but that there be equalnes nowe at thys tyme, that youre aboundaunce succoure theyr lacke: that theyr aboundaunce maye supplye youre lacke: |
| 8:15 | that there may be equalitie, agreyng to that which is wryten. He that gathered muche, had neuer the more aboundaunce, and he that gathered lyttell had neuerthelesse. |
| 8:16 | Thankes be vnto God, which put in the hert of Titus the same good mynde towarde you. |
| 8:17 | For he accepted the requeste, yea rather he was so well willyng that of hys owne accorde he came vnto you. |
| 8:18 | We haue sente with him that brother whose lande is the Gospell thorowe out all the congregacyons, |
| 8:19 | and not so onely, but is also chosen of the congregacyons to be a felowe with vs in oure iorneye concernynge thys beneuolence that is ministred by vs vnto the prayse of the Lorde, and to stere vp youre prompte mynde. |
| 8:20 | For this we eschue, that anye man shoulde rebuke vs in thys plentuous distribucyon, that is ministred by vs, |
| 8:21 | and therfore make prouision for honest thynges, not in the syghte of God onelye, but also in the syght of men. |
| 8:22 | We haue sent with them a brother of ours whome we haue oftentimes proued diligente in many thinges, but now much more diligent. |
| 8:23 | The greate confydence whiche I haue in you hath caused me thus to do, partely for Tytus sake, whiche is my felowe and helper as concernynge you, partely because of other which are oure brethren, and the messengers of the congregacyons, and the glorye of Christe. |
| 8:24 | Wherfore shewe vnto them the profe of your loue, and of the reioysynge that we haue of you, that the congregacyons maye se it. |
| 8:1 | I certifye you brethren, of the grace of God which was geuen in the congregacyons of Macedonia, |
| 8:2 | howe that the aboundaunce of theyr reioysynge is, that they are tryed with moche tribulacyon. And though they were exceadynge poore, yet haue they geuen exceading rychely, and that in singlenesse. |
| 8:3 | For to theyr powers, I beare them recorde, yee, & beyonde theyr power, they were wyllynge of theyr awne accorde, |
| 8:4 | and prayed vs with great instaunce, that we wolde receaue their benefyte, and suffre them to be partetakers with other in minystrynge to the saynctes. |
| 8:5 | And thys they dyd, not as we loked for: but gaue their awne selues fyrst to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the wyll of God: |
| 8:6 | so that we coulde not but desyre Titus, to accomplysshe the same beniuolence amonge you also, euen as he had begonne. |
| 8:7 | Nowe therfore, as ye are riche in all parties, in fayth, in worde, in knowledge, in all feruentnes, and in loue, which ye haue to vs: euen so, se that ye be plenteous in thys beniuolence also. |
| 8:8 | This saye I, not commaundynge: but because of feruentnes, I do alowe the vnfaynednesse of youre loue towarde other men. |
| 8:9 | For ye knowe the liberalytie of oure Lord Iesus Christ, that though he was ryche, yet for youre sakes he became poore that ye, thorowe hys pouertye, myght be made ryche. |
| 8:10 | And I geue councell hereto. For thys is expedient for you, which beganne, not to do onely, but also to wyll a yeare ago. |
| 8:11 | Nowe therfore, performe the thynge which ye beganne to do: that as there was in you a redynes to will, euen so, ye maye performe the dede of that which ye haue. |
| 8:12 | For yf there be fyrst a wyllynge mynde, it is accepted accordynge to that a man hath, and not accordynge to that he hath not. |
| 8:13 | It is not my mynde that other be sett at ease, and ye brought into combraunce: |
| 8:14 | but that ther be egalnes nowe at this tyme: and that your aboundance maye sucker their lacke: and that theyr aboundance maye supply youre lacke: |
| 8:15 | that there maye be equalyte, agreynge to that which is wrytten: He that had moche, had not the more aboundance: & he that had a litle, had neuer the lesse. |
| 8:16 | Thankes be vnto God, which put the same good mynde for you in the herte of Titus, |
| 8:17 | which accepted the requeste: yee, rather he was so well wyllinge, that of his awne accorde, he came vnto you. |
| 8:18 | We haue sente with hym the brother, whose laude is in the gospell thorowout all the congregacyons: |
| 8:19 | and not that onelye, but is also chosen of the congregacions to be a felowe with vs in oure iorney, concerning this beniuolence that is ministred by vs vnto the prayse of the same Lorde, and to stere vp youre prompte mynde. |
| 8:20 | For thys we exchewe, that eny man shuld rebuke vs in this plenteous distrybucyon, that is ministred by vs |
| 8:21 | and make prouisyon for honest thinges: not onely in the syght of the Lorde: but also in the syght of men. |
| 8:22 | We haue sent wt them a brother of oures, whom we haue ofte tymes proued dilygent in many thynges: but nowe moch more diligent. |
| 8:23 | The greate confidence which I haue in you, hath caused me thys to do: partelye for Titus sake which is my felowe and helper as concernyng you: partely because of other which are our brethren, and the messengers of the congregacyons, & the glory of Christ. |
| 8:24 | Wherfore, shewe ye vnto them the proffe of youre loue, and of oure boastynge of you in the syght of the congregacyons. |
| 8:1 | We doe you also to wit, brethren, of the grace of God bestowed vpon the Churches of Macedonia, |
| 8:2 | Because in great triall of affliction their ioy abounded, and their most extreme pouertie abounded vnto their rich liberalitie. |
| 8:3 | For to their power (I beare record) yea, and beyonde their power, they were willing, |
| 8:4 | And praied vs with great instance that we woulde receiue the grace, and fellowship of the ministring which is toward the Saints. |
| 8:5 | And this they did, not as we looked for: but gaue their owne selues, first to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the will of God, |
| 8:6 | That we should exhort Titus, that as hee had begon, so he would also accomplish the same grace among you also. |
| 8:7 | Therefore, as yee abound in euery thing, in faith and woorde, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your loue towardes vs, euen so see that yee abound in this grace also. |
| 8:8 | This say I not by commandement, but because of the diligence of others: therefore prooue I the naturalnesse of your loue. |
| 8:9 | For ye knowe the grace of our Lord Iesus Christ, that hee being rich, for your sakes became poore, that yee through his pouertie might be made rich. |
| 8:10 | And I shewe my minde herein: for this is expedient for you, which haue begun not to doe onely, but also to will, a yeare agoe. |
| 8:11 | Nowe therefore performe to doe it also, that as there was a readinesse to will, euen so yee may performe it of that which yee haue. |
| 8:12 | For if there be first a willing minde, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. |
| 8:13 | Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieued: But vpon like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lacke: |
| 8:14 | That also their aboundance may bee for your lacke, that there may be equalitie: |
| 8:15 | As it is written, Hee that gathered much, had nothing ouer, and hee that gathered litle, had not the lesse. |
| 8:16 | And thanks be vnto God, which hath put in the heart of Titus the same care for you. |
| 8:17 | Because hee accepted the exhortation, yea, hee was so carefull that of his owne accorde hee went vnto you. |
| 8:18 | And wee haue sent also with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout al the Churches. |
| 8:19 | (And not so onely, but is also chosen of the Churches to be a fellowe in our iourney, concerning this grace that is ministred by vs vnto the glorie of the same Lord, and declaration of your prompt minde) |
| 8:20 | Auoiding this, that no man shoulde blame vs in this aboundance that is ministred by vs, |
| 8:21 | Prouiding for honest thinges, not onely before the Lord, but also before men. |
| 8:22 | And we haue sent with them our brother, whom we haue oft times prooued to be diligent in many thinges, but nowe much more diligent, for the great confidence, which I haue in you. |
| 8:23 | Whether any doe inquire of Titus, he is my fellowe and helper to you ward: or of our brethren, they are messengers of the Churches, and the glorie of Christ. |
| 8:24 | Wherefore shew toward them, and before the Churches the proofe of your loue, and of the reioycing that we haue of you. |
