2 Corinthians - Chapter: 10

>
10:1And Y my silf Poul biseche you, bi the myldenesse and softnesse of Crist, which in the face am meke among you, and Y absent triste in you.
10:2For Y preie you, that lest Y present be not bold bi the trist, in which Y am gessid to be bold in to summe, that demen vs, as if we wandren aftir the fleisch.
10:3For we walkynge in fleisch, fiyten not aftir the fleisch.
10:4For the armuris of oure knyythod ben not fleischli, but myyti bi God to the distruccioun of strengthis. And we distrien counsels,
10:5and alle hiynesse that hiyeth it silf ayens the science of God, and dryuen `in to caitifte al vndirstonding in to the seruyce of Crist.
10:6And we han redi to venge al vnobedience, whanne youre obedience schal be fillid.
10:7Se ye the thingis that ben after the face. If ony man trustith to him silf, that he is of Crist, thenke he this thing eft anentis hym silf,
10:8for as he is Cristis, so also we. For if Y schal glorie ony thing more of oure power, which the Lord yaf to vs in to edifiyng, and not in to youre distruccioun, Y schal not be schamed.
10:9But that Y be not gessid as to fere you bi epistlis,
10:10for thei seien, That epistlis ben greuouse and stronge, but the presence of the bodi is feble, and the word worthi to be dispisid.
10:11He that is suche oon, thenke this, for suche as we absent ben in word bi pistlis, suche we ben present in dede.
10:12For we doren not putte vs among, or comparisoune vs to summen, that comenden hem silf; but we mesuren vs in vs silf, and comparisounen vs silf to vs.
10:13For we schulen not haue glorie ouer mesure, but bi the mesure of the reule which God mesuride to vs, the mesure that stretchith to you.
10:14For we ouerstretchen not forth vs, as not stretchinge to you. For to you we camen in the gospel of Crist,
10:15not gloriynge ouer mesure in othere mennus trauelis. For we `han hope of youre feith that wexith in you to be magnefied bi oure reule in abundaunce,
10:16also to preche in to tho thingis that ben biyendis you, not to haue glorie in othere mennus reule, in these thingis that ben maad redi.
10:17He that glorieth, haue glorie in the Lord.
10:18For not he that comendith hym silf is preuyd, but whom God comendith.

10:1Nowe I Paul my selfe beseech you by the meekenes, and gentlenes of Christ, which when I am present among you am base, but am bolde toward you being absent:
10:2And this I require you, that I neede not to be bolde when I am present, with that same confidence, wherewith I thinke to bee bolde against some, which esteeme vs as though wee walked according to the flesh.
10:3Neuerthelesse, though wee walke in the flesh, yet we doe not warre after the flesh.
10:4(For the weapons of our warrefare are not carnall, but mightie through God, to cast downe holdes)
10:5Casting downe the imaginations, and euery high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captiuitie euery thought to the obedience of Christ,
10:6And hauing ready the vengeance against all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
10:7Looke yee on things after the appearance? If any man trust in himselfe that hee is Christes, let him consider this againe of himself, that as he is Christes, euen so are we Christes.
10:8For though I shoulde boast somewhat more of our authoritie, which the Lord hath giuen vs for edification, and not for your destruction, I should haue no shame.
10:9This I say, that I may not seeme as it were to feare you with letters.
10:10For the letters, sayeth hee, are sore and strong, but his bodily presence is weake, and his speache is of no value.
10:11Let such one thinke this, that such as wee are in woorde by letters, when we are absent, such wil we be also in deede, when we are present.
10:12For wee dare not make our selues of the nomber, or to compare our selues to them, which praise themselues: but they vnderstand not that they measure themselues with themselues, and compare themselues with themselues.
10:13But we wil not reioyce of things, which are not within our measure, but according to the measure of the line, whereof God hath distributed vnto vs a measure to attaine euen vnto you.
10:14For we stretche not our selues beyonde our measure, as though wee had not attained vnto you: for euen to you also haue we come in preaching the Gospel of Christ,
10:15Not boasting of things which are without our measure: that is, of other mens labours: and we hope, when your faith shall increase, to bee magnified by you according to our line aboundantly,
10:16And to preache the Gospel in those regions which are beyonde you: not to reioyce in another mans line, that is, in the thinges that are prepared alreadie.
10:17But let him that reioyceth, reioyce in the Lord.
10:18For hee that praiseth himselfe, is not alowed, but he whome the Lord praiseth.

10:1Now I, Paul, myself urge with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
10:2But I urge you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
10:3Because, though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
10:4Because, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds,
10:5casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
10:6and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
10:7Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ's, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ's, even so we are Christ's.
10:8Because, even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I will not be ashamed,
10:9lest I seem as if I would to terrify you by letters.
10:10"Because, his letters," they say, "are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible."
10:11Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present.
10:12Because, we dare not classify ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
10:13We, however, will not boast of things beyond our measure, but according to the measure of the influence which God has distributed to us, a measure to reach to you also.
10:14Because, we do not stretch ourselves beyond our measure, as though we did not extend to you, because, we have come as far as to you also with the preaching of the gospel of Christ;
10:15not boasting of things beyond our measure, that is, in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, that we will be enlarged abundantly by you according to our influence,
10:16to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's sphere of accomplishment.
10:17But "he who glories, let him glory in the LORD."
10:18Because, not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
