2 Corinthians - Chapter: 11

>
11:1I wolde that ye wolden suffre a litil thing of myn vnwisdom, but also supporte ye me.
11:2For Y loue you bi the loue of God; for Y haue spousid you to oon hosebonde, to yelde a chast virgyn to Crist.
11:3But Y drede, lest as the serpent disseyuede Eue with his sutil fraude, so youre wittis ben corrupt, and fallen doun fro the symplenesse that is in Crist.
11:4For if he that cometh, prechith anothir Crist, whom we precheden not, or if ye taken another spirit, whom ye token not, or another gospel, which ye resseyueden not, riytli ye schulden suffre.
11:5For Y wene that Y haue don no thing lesse than the grete apostlis.
11:6For thouy Y be vnlerud in word, but not in kunnyng. For in alle thingis Y am open to you.
11:7Or whether Y haue don synne, mekynge my silf, that ye be enhaunsid, for freli Y prechide to you the gospel of God?
11:8Y made nakid othere chirchis, and Y took sowde to youre seruyce.
11:9And whanne Y was among you, and hadde nede, Y was chargeouse to no man; for britheren that camen fro Macedonye, fulfilliden that that failide to me. And in alle thingis Y haue kept, and schal kepe me with outen charge to you.
11:10The treuthe of Crist is in me; for this glorie schal not be brokun in me in the cuntreis of Acaie.
11:11Whi? for Y loue not you?
11:12God woot. For that that Y do, and that Y schal do, is that Y kitte awei the occasioun of hem that wolen occasioun, that in the thing, in which thei glorien, thei be foundun as we.
11:13For siche false apostlis ben trecherouse werk men, and transfiguren hem in to apostlis of Crist.
11:14And no wondur, for Sathanas hym silf transfigurith hym in to an aungel of light.
11:15Therfor it is not greet, if hise mynystris ben transfigurid as the mynystris of riytwisnesse, whos ende schal be aftir her werkis.
11:16Eft Y seie, lest ony man gesse me to be vnwise; ellis take ye me as vnwise, that also Y haue glorie a litil what.
11:17That that Y speke, Y speke not aftir God, but as in vnwisdom, in this substaunce of glorie.
11:18For many men glorien aftir the fleisch, and Y schal glorie.
11:19For ye suffren gladli vnwise men, whanne ye silf ben wise.
11:20For ye susteynen, if ony man dryueth you in to seruage, if ony man deuourith, if ony man takith, if ony man is enhaunsid, if ony man smytith you on the face.
11:21Bi vnnoblei Y seie, as if we weren sike in this parti. In what thing ony man dar, in vnwisdom Y seie, and Y dar.
11:22Thei ben Ebrewis, and Y; thei ben Israelitis, and Y; thei ben the seed of Abraham, and Y;
11:23thei ben the mynystris of Crist, and Y. As lesse wise Y seie, Y more; in ful many trauelis, in prisouns more plenteuousli, in woundis aboue maner, in deethis ofte tymes.
11:24Y resseyuede of the Jewis fyue sithis fourti strokis oon lesse;
11:25thries Y was betun with yerdis, onys Y was stonyd, thries Y was at shipbreche, a nyyt and a dai Y was in the depnesse of the see;
11:26in weies ofte, in perelis of floodis, in perelis of theues, in perelis of kyn, in perelis of hethene men, in perelis in citee, in perelis in desert, in perelis in the see, in perelis among false britheren, in trauel and nedynesse,
11:27in many wakyngis, in hungur, in thirst, in many fastyngis, in coold and nakidnesse.
11:28Withouten tho thingis that ben withoutforth, myn ech daies trauelyng is the bisynesse of alle chirchis.
11:29Who is sijk, and Y am not sijk? who is sclaundrid, and Y am not brent?
11:30If it bihoueth to glorie, Y schal glorie in tho thingis that ben of myn infirmyte.
11:31God and the fadir of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, that is blessid in to worldis, woot that Y lie not.
11:32The preuost of Damask, of the kyng of the folk Arethe, kepte the citee of Damascenes to take me;
11:33and bi a wyndow in a leep Y was latun doun bi the wal, and so Y ascapide hise hondis.

11:1Wolde to god ye coulde suffre me a lytell in my folysshnes: yee and I praye you forbeare me.
11:2For I am gelous over you with godly gelousy. For I coupled you to one man to make you a chaste virgen to Christ.
11:3But I feare lest as the serpent begyled Eve thorow his sutteltie even so youre wittes shuld be corrupte from the singlenes that is in Christ.
11:4For if he that commeth preache another Iesus then hym whom we preached: or if ye receave another sprete then that which ye have receaved: other another gospell then that ye have receaved ye myght right wel have bene content.
11:5I suppose that I was not behynde ye chefe apostles.
11:6Though I be rude in speakynge yet I am not so in knowledge. How be it amonge you we are knowen to the vtmost what we are in all thynges.
11:7Did I therin synne be cause I submitted my silfe that ye myght be exalted and because I preached to you the gospell of God fre?
11:8I robbed other congregacions and toke wages of the to do you service with all.
11:9And when I was present with yov and had nede I was greuous to no man for that which was lackynge vnto me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all thynges I kept my silfe that I shuld not be greveous to you: and so will I kepe my silfe.
11:10Yf the trueth of Christ be in me this ieioysynge shall not be taken from me in the regions of Achaia.
11:11Wherfore? Be cause I love you not? God knoweth.
11:12Neverthe lesse what I doo that will I do to cut awaye occasion from them which desyre occasion that they myght be founde lyke vnto vs in that wherin they reioyce.
11:13For these falce apostles are disceatefull workers and fassion them selves lyke vnto ye apostles of Christ.
11:14And no marvayle for satan him silfe is chaunged into the fassion of an angell of light.
11:15Therfore it is no great thynge though his ministers fassion them selves as though they were the ministers of rightewesnes: whose ende shalbe acordynge to their dedes.
11:16I saye agayne lest eny man thynke yt I am folishe: or els eve now take me as a fole that I maye bost my silfe a lytell.
11:17That I speake I speake it not after the wayes of the lorde: but as it were folysshly whill we are now come to bostynge.
11:18Seynge that many reioyce after ye flesshe I will reioyce also.
11:19For ye suffre foles gladly be cause that ye youre selves are wyse.
11:20For ye suffre even if a man brynge you into bondage: yf a ma devoure: yf a man take: yf a man exalt hym silfe: yf a man smyte you on the face.
11:21I speake as concernynge rebuke as though we had bene weake. How be it wherin soever eny man dare be bolde (I speake folisshly) I dare be bolde also
11:22They are Ebrues so am I: They are Israelites eve so am I. They are ye seede of Abraha even so am I.
11:23They are ye ministers of Christ (I speake as a fole) I am moare: In labours moare aboundat: In strypes above measure: In preson more plenteously: In deeth ofte.
11:24Of the Iewes five tymes receaved I every tyme .xl. strypes saue one.
11:25Thryse was I beten with roddes. I was once stoned. I suffered thryse shipwracke. Nyght and daye have I bene in the depe of the see.
11:26In iorneyinge often: In parels of waters: In parels of robbers: In ieoperdies of myne awne nacion: In ieoperdies amoge the hethen. I have bene in parels in cities in parels in wildernes in parels in the see in parels amonge falce brethren
11:27in laboure and travayle in watchynge often in honger in thirst in fastynges often in colde and in nakednes.
11:28And besyde the thynges which outwardly happe vnto me I am cobred dayly and do care for all congregacions.
11:29Who is sicke and I am not sicke? Who is hurte in the fayth and my hert burneth not?
11:30Yf I must nedes reioyce I will reioyce of myne infirmities.
11:31The God and father of oure lorde Iesus Christ which is blessed for evermore knoweth that I lye not
11:32In ye citie of Damascon the governer of ye people vnder kynge Aretas layde watche in ye citie of the Damasces and wolde have caught me
11:33and at a wyndowe was I let doune in a basket thorowe the wall and so scaped his hondes.

11:1Wolde God ye coulde suffre me a litle in my foloshnes, yet do ye forbeare me.
11:2For I am gelous ouer you wt godly gelousy. For I haue maried you vnto one ma, to brynge a chaste virgin vnto Christ.
11:3But I feare, lest as ye serpet begyled Eue wt his sutteltie, eue so yor wyttes shulde be corrupte from the synglenesse that is in Christ.
11:4For yf he that commeth vnto you, preach another Iesus, whom we haue not preached, or yf ye receaue another sprete, yt ye haue not receaued, or another Gospell which ye haue not accepted, ye might right well haue bene cotent.
11:5For I suppose that I am no lesse the the hye Apostles are.
11:6And though I be rude in speakynge, yet am I not rude in knowlege. Howbeit amoge you I am knowne to the vttemost.
11:7Or dyd I synne therin because I submytted my selfe, that ye mighte be exalted? For I preached vnto you the Gospell of God frely,
11:8and robbed other cogregacions, and toke wages of the, to preach vnto you.
11:9And whan I was present with you, and had nede, I was greuous to no man: for yt which was lackynge vnto me, the brethren which came fro Macedonia, suppleed. And in all thinges I kepte myselfe so, yt I shulde not be greuous to you, & so wyl I kepe my self
11:10As surely as the trueth of Christ is in me, this reioysinge shal not be taken fro me in the regions of Achaia.
11:11Wherfore? because I shulde not loue you? God knoweth.
11:12Neuertheles what I do and wyl do, that do I to cut awaye occasion, from the which seke occasion, that they mighte boast the selues to be like vnto vs.
11:13For soch false Apostles & disceatfull workers fashion them selues like vnto the Apostles of Christ.
11:14And that is no maruell: for Sathan himfelfe is chaunged in to ye fashion of an angell of light.
11:15Therfore is it no greate thinge, though his mymisters fashion them selues as though they were the preachers of righteousnes, whose ende shalbe acordinge to their dedes.
11:16I saye agayne, lest eny man thynke that I am folish: or els take me euen now as a fole, yt I maye boast my selfe a litle also.
11:17That I speake now, that speake I not after the LORDE, but as it were in folishnes, whyle we are now come to boastinge:
11:18Seynge that many boaste them selues after ye flesh, I wil boast my selfe also.
11:19For ye suffre foles gladly, in so moch as ye youre selues are wyse.
11:20For ye suffre euen yf a man brynge you in to bondage, yf a man put you to dishonesty, yf a man take ought fro you, yf a man exalte himselfe ouer you, yf a man smyte you on the face.
11:21I speake concernynge rebuke, as though we were weake.Wherin so euer now eny man darre be bolde (I speake folishly) therin darre I be bolde also.
11:22They are Hebrues, so am I. They are Israelites, euen so am I. They are the sede of Abraham, so am I.
11:23They are the mynisters of Christ (I speake as a fole) I am more: in laboures more abudaunt, in strypes aboue measure, in presonmentes more plenteously, in death oft.
11:24Of the Iewes receaued I fyue tymes fortye strypes, one lesse.
11:25Thryse was I beaten with roddes. I was once stoned, I suffred thryse shypwracke: nighte and daye haue I bene in the depe of the see:
11:26I haue oft iourneyed: I haue bene oft in parels of waters, in parels amonge murthurers, in parels amonge the Iewes, in parels amonge the Heythen, in parels in cities, in parels in the wylderners, in parels vpon the See, in parels amonge false brethre,
11:27in laboure & trauayle, in moch watchinges, in honger and thyrst, in moch fastinges in colde and nakednesse:
11:28Besyde those thynges which are outwarde, namely my daylie combraunce, my daylie care for all cogregacions.
11:29Who is weake, and I be not weake? Who is offended, & I burne not?
11:30Yf I must nedes make my boast, I wil boast my selfe of myne infirmyte.
11:31God ye father of oure LORDE Iesus Christ, which is blessed for euer, knoweth that I lye not.
11:32At Damascon the gouernoure of ye people vnder kynge Aretas, kepte ye cite of the Damascenes, & wolde haue taken me.
11:33and at a wyndowe was I let downe in a basket thorow the wall, & so escaped his handes.
