Galatians - Chapter: 1


1:1	Paul an Apostle, not of men, neyther by man, but by Iesus christ and by God the father, which raysed hym from death:
1:2	and all the brethren whiche are with me. Vnto the congregacyons of Galacia.
1:3	Grace be with you and peace from God the father, and from our Lorde Iesus Christ,
1:4	whiche gaue hym selfe for oure synnes, to delyuer vs from thys present euyll worlde, thorow the wyll of God our father,
1:5	to whom be prayse for euer and euer. Amen.
1:6	I maruayle that ye are so sone turned from hym that called you in the grace of Christ, vnto an other Gospell:
1:7	whiche is nothynge els, but that there be some which trouble you, and entende to peruert the Gospell of Christe.
1:8	Neuerthelesse thoughe we oure selues, or an Angell from heauen, preache any other Gospell vnto you then that whiche we haue preached vnto you, holde hym as accurssed.
1:9	As I haue sayed before, so saye I nowe agayne, yf anye man preache any other thynge vnto you, then that you haue receyued, holde hym accursed.
1:10	Preache I mans doctryne or Goddes? Eyther go I aboute to please men? Yf I studyed to please men, I were not the seruauat of Christe.
1:11	I certifye you brethren, that the Gospell which was preached of me, was, not after the maner of men,
1:12	neyther receyued I it of man, neyther was I taughte it, but receyued it by the reuelacyon of Iesus Christ.
1:13	For ye haue hearde of my conuersacyon in tyme paste, in the Iewes wayes, howe that beyonde measure I persecuted the congregacyon of God, & spoyled it,
1:14	and preuayled in the Iewes lawe, aboue many of my companyons, which were of myne own nacyon, & was a much more feruent mayntayner of the tradicions of the elders.
1:15	But when it pleased God (whiche separated me from my mothers wombe, and called me by hys grace,
1:16	for to declare hys sonne by me) that I shoulde preache hym amonge the heathen immediatly I communed not of the matter with fleshe and bloude,
1:17	neyther returned to Hierusalem to them whiche were Apostles before me, but went my wayes into Arabia, and came agayne to Damasco.
1:18	Then after .iij. yere I returned to Ierusalem to se Peter and abode with hym .xv. dayes,
1:19	no nother of the Apostles sawe I, saue Iames the Lordes brother.
1:20	The thynges which I wryte beholde God knoweth I lye not.
1:21	After that I went into the costes of Syria, and Cilicia,
1:22	and was knowen as touchynge my person vnto the congregacyons of Iewry, whiche were in Christe,
1:23	But they hearde onlye that he which persecuted vs in tyme past nowe preacheth the fayth which before he destroyed.
1:24	And they gloryfyed God on my be halfe.

1:9	As we said before, so saye I nowe agayne, yf eny man preache eny other Gospell vnto you, then that ye haue receaued, lett hym be acursed.
1:10	Do I now perswade men, or God? Other do I seke to please men? For yf I had hythereto studyed to please men, I were not the seruaunt of Christ.
1:11	I certifye you brethren, that the Gospell which was preached of me, was not after the maner of men.
1:12	For I nether receaued it, ner learned it of man, but by the reuelacyon of Iesus Christ.
1:13	For ye haue hearde of my conuersacyon in tyme past, in the Iewes waye, howe that beyonde measure, I persecuted the congregacyon of God, and spoyled it,
1:14	and preuayled in the Iewes waye aboue many of my companions in myne awne nacyon beynge a very feruent mayntener of the tradicyons of the elders.
1:15	But when it pleased God, which seperated me from my mothers wombe, and called me here unto by hys grace,
1:16	for to declare hys sonne by me, that I shulde preache hym amonge the Heathen: immediatly I commened not of the matter with flessh & bloude,
1:17	nether returned to Ierusalem, to them which were apostles before me: but went my wayes into Arabia, and came agayne vnto Damasco.
1:18	Then after thre yeare, I returned to Ierusalem to se Peter, and abode with hym fyftene dayes.
1:19	Other of the apostles sawe I none, saue Iames the Lordes brother.
1:20	The thinges therfore which I wryte vnto you: beholde, before God I lye not.
1:21	After that I came into the coastes of Siria and Cilicia,
1:22	and was vnknowen as touchinge my person vnto the congregacions of Iewry, which were in Christ.
1:23	But thys they hearde onely, that he which persecuted vs in tyme past, nowe preacheth the fayth, which before he destroyed.
1:24	And they glorified God in me.

1:4	Which gaue himself for our sinnes, that he might deliuer vs from this present euill world according to the will of God euen our Father,
1:5	To whom be glory for euer and euer, Amen.
1:6	I marueile that ye are so soone remoued away vnto another Gospel, from him that had called you in the grace of Christ,
1:7	Which is not another Gospel, saue that there be some which trouble you, and intend to peruert the Gospel of Christ.
1:8	But though that we, or an Angel from heauen preach vnto you otherwise, then that which we haue preached vnto you, let him be accursed.
1:9	As we sayd before, so say I now againe, If any man preach vnto you otherwise, then that ye haue receiued, let him be accursed.
1:10	For nowe preach I mans doctrine, or Gods? or go I about to please men? for if I should yet please men, I were not the seruant of Christ.
1:11	Now I certifie you, brethren, that ye Gospel which was preached of me, was not after man.
1:12	For neither receiued I it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the reuelation of Iesus Christ.
1:13	For ye haue heard of my conuersation in time past, in the Iewish religion, how that I persecuted the Church of God extremely, and wasted it,
1:14	And profited in the Iewish religion aboue many of my companions of mine owne nation, and was much more zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
1:15	But when it pleased God (which had separated me from my mothers wombe, and called me by his grace)
1:16	To reueile his Sonne in me, that I should preach him among the Gentiles, immediatly I communicated not with flesh and blood:
1:17	Neither came I againe to Hierusalem to them which were Apostles before me, but I went into Arabia, and turned againe vnto Damascus.
1:18	Then after three yeeres I came againe to Hierusalem to visite Peter, and abode with him fifteene dayes.
1:19	And none other of the Apostles sawe I, saue Iames the Lords brother.
1:20	Nowe the things which I write vnto you, beholde, I witnes before God, that I lie not.
1:21	After that, I went into the coastes of Syria and Cilicia:
1:22	for I was vnknowen by face vnto the Churches of Iudea, which were in Christ.
1:23	But they had heard onely some say, Hee which persecuted vs in time past, nowe preacheth the faith which before he destroyed.
1:24	And they glorified God for me.
