Philippians - Chapter: 2

>
2:1If ther be therfore eny consolacyon in Christ, yf ther be eny comforte of loue, yf ther by eny fellishyppe of the sprete, yf ther be eny compassion and mercy:
2:2full fyll ye my ioye, that ye be lyke mynded, hauinge one loue, beynge of one accorde, and of one mynde,
2:3that nothinge be done thorowe stryfe or of vayne glory, but in mekenes of mynde, let euery man esteme another better then hym selfe.
2:4Loke not ye euery man on hys awne thinges, but euery man on the thinges that are other mens.
2:5Let the same mynde be in you, that was also in Christ Iesu:
2:6which whan he was in the shape of God, thought it no robbery to be equall with God
2:7Neuerthelesse he made hym selfe of no reputacion, takynge on hym the shape of a seruaunte, and became lyke vnto men,
2:8and was founde in his apparell as a man. He humbled him selfe, and became obedient vnto the deeth, euen the deeth of the crosse.
2:9Wherfore, God also hath exalted him on hye, and geuen him a name which is aboue all names:
2:10that in the name of Iesus euery knee shulde bowe, both of thinges in heauen and thynges in erth and thynges vnder the erth,
2:11and that all tonges shulde confesse, that Iesus Christ is the Lorde, vnto the prayse of God the father.
2:12Wherfore (my dearly beloued) as ye haue alwayes obeyed, not when I was present onely, but nowe moche more in myne absence, euen so worcke out youre awne saluacion with feare and tremblyng.
2:13For it is God, which worketh in you, both the wyll and also the dede, euen of good wyll.
2:14Do all thynge with out murmuringe, & dysputynge,
2:15that ye maye be soche as no man came complayne on: and vnfayned sonnes of God without rebuke, in the myddes of a croked and peruerse nacyon: amonge whom se that ye shyne as lyghtes in the worlde,
2:16holdynge faste the worde of lyfe, that I maye reioyce in the daye of Chryst, howe that I haue not runne in vayne, nether haue laboured in vayne.
2:17Yee and though I be offered vp vpon the offeringe & sacrifyce of youre fayth: I reioyce and reioyce with you all.
2:18For the same cause also do ye reioyce, and reioyce with me.
2:19I trust in the Lorde Iesus, for to sende Timotheus shortly vnto you, that I also maye be of good comforte, when I knowe what case ye stande in.
2:20For I haue no man that is so lyke mynded to me, which with so pure affeccyon wyll care for youre matters.
2:21For all other seke theyr awne, and not the thynges which are Iesus Christes.
2:22ye knowe the proffe of hym, howe that as a sonne with the father, so hath he with me bestowed hys seruice in the Gospell.
2:23Hym therfore I hope to sende, assone as I knowe howe it wyll go with me.
2:24I trust in the Lord, that I also my selfe shall come shortly.
2:25But I supposed it necessary to sende brother Epaphroditus vnto you, my companion in laboure and felowe souldier, youre Apostell, which also ministreth vnto me at nede.
2:26For he longed after you all, and was full of heuynes, because that ye had hearde saye, that he had bene sycke.
2:27And no doute he was sicke, in somoch that he was nye vnto deeth. But God had mercy on him: and not on him onely, but on me also, lest I shulde haue sorowe vpon sorowe.
2:28I sent hym therfore the more diligently: that when ye se hym, ye maye reioyce agayne, and that I maye be the lesse sorowfull.
2:29Receaue him therfore in the Lorde with all gladnes, and make moche of soche:
2:30because that for the worke of Chryst he went so farre, that he was nye vnto deeth, and regarded not hys lyfe: to fullfyll that, which was lackynge on youre parte to warde me.

2:1Therfor if ony coumfort is in Crist, if ony solace of charite, if ony felouschipe of spirit, if ony inwardnesse of merci doyng,
2:2fille ye my ioye, that ye vndurstonde the same thing, and haue the same charite, of o wille, and feelen the same thing;
2:3no thing bi strijf, nether by veyn glorie, but in mekenesse, demynge eche othere to be heiyer than hym silf;
2:4not biholdinge ech bi hym silf what thingis ben his owne, but tho thingis that ben of othere men.
2:5And fele ye this thing in you, which also in Crist Jhesu;
2:6that whanne he was in the forme of God, demyde not raueyn, that hym silf were euene to God;
2:7but he lowide hym silf, takinge the forme of a seruaunt, and was maad in to the licknesse of men, and in abite was foundun as a man.
2:8He mekide hym silf, and was maad obedient to the deth, yhe, to the deth of the cross.
2:9For which thing God enhaunside hym, and yaf to hym a name that is aboue al name;
2:10that in the name of Jhesu ech kne be bowid, of heuenli thingis, of ertheli thingis, and of hellis;
2:11and ech tunge knouleche, that the Lord Jhesu Crist is in the glorie of God the fadir.
2:12Therfor, my most dereworthe britheren, as euere more ye han obeischid, not in my presence onely, but myche more now in myn absence, worche ye with drede and trembling youre heelthe.
2:13For it is God that worchith in you, bothe to wilne, and to performe, for good wille.
2:14And do ye alle thingis with out grutchingis and doutyngis;
2:15that ye be with out playnt, and symple as the sones of God, with out repreef, in the myddil of a schrewid nacioun and a weiward; among whiche ye schynen as yyueris of liyt in the world.
2:16And holde ye togidere the word of lijf to my glorie in the day of Crist; for Y haue not runnen in veyn, nether Y haue trauelid in veyn.
2:17But thouy Y be offrid or slayn on the sacrifice and seruyce of youre feith, Y haue ioye, and Y thanke you alle.
2:18And the same thing haue ye ioye, and thanke ye me.
2:19And Y hope in the Lord Jhesu, that Y schal sende Tymothe soone to you, that Y be of good coumfort, whanne tho thingis ben knowun that ben aboute you.
2:20For Y haue no man so of o wille, that is bisi for you with clene affeccioun.
2:21For alle men seken tho thingis that ben her owne, not tho that ben of Crist Jhesu.
2:22But knowe ye the asaie of hym, for as a sone to the fadir he hath seruyd with me in the gospel.
2:23Therfor Y hope that Y schal sende hym to you, anoon as Y se what thingis ben aboute me.
2:24And Y triste in the Lord, that also my silf schal come to you soone.
2:25And Y gesside it nedeful to sende to you Epafrodite, my brother and euene worchere, and myn euene knyyt, but youre apostle, and the mynystre of my nede.
2:26For he desiride you alle, and he was sorewful, therfor that ye herden that he was sijk.
2:27For he was sijk to the deth, but God hadde merci on him; and not oneli on hym, but also on me, lest Y hadde heuynesse on heuynesse.
2:28Therfor more hastili Y sente hym, that whanne ye han seyn hym, ye haue ioye eft, and Y be withouten heuynesse.
2:29Therfor resseyue ye hym with al ioye in the Lord, and haue ye suche with al onour.
2:30For the werk of Crist he wente to deth, yyuynge his lijf, that he schulde fulfille that that failide of you anentis my seruyce.

2:1Yf there be amonge you eny consolacion in Christ, yf there be eny comforte of loue, yf there be eny fellishippe off the sprete, yf there be eny compassion and mercy,
2:2fulfyll my ioye, that ye drawe one waye, hauynge one loue, beynge of one accorde, and of one mynde:
2:3that there be nothinge done thorow stryfe and vayne glory, but that thorow mekenesse of mynde euery man esteme another better then himselfe:
2:4and let euery ma loke not for his awne profet, but for the profet of other.
2:5Let the same mynde be in you, that was in Christ Iesu:
2:6which beyinge in the shappe of God, thought it not robbery to be equall with God,
2:7but made him selfe of no reputacion, and toke vpon him the shappe of a seruaunt, became like another man,
2:8and was founde in his apparell as a man: he humbled himselfe, and became obedient vnto the death, euen vnto the death of the crosse.
2:9Therfore hath God also exalted him, and geuen him a name, which is aboue all names,
2:10that in the name of Iesus euery kne shulde bowe, both of thinges in heauen of thinges vpo earth, and of thinges vnder the earth,
2:11and that all tunges shulde confesse, that Iesus Christ is the LORDE vnto the prayse of God the father.
2:12Wherfore my dearly beloued, as ye haue allwayes obeyed (not onely in my presence, but now also moch more in my absence) euen so worke out youre awne saluacion with feare and tremblynge.
2:13For it is God which worketh in you both the wyll and the deed, euen of his owne good wyll.
2:14Do all thinges without murmurynges and disputinges,
2:15that ye maye be fautles and pure, and the childre of God without rebuke, in the myddes of ye croked and peruerse nacion, amonge whom se that ye shyne as lightes in the worlde,
2:16holdinge fast the worde of life, vnto my reioysinge in the daye of Christ, that I haue not runne in vayne, nether laboured in vayne.
2:17Yee and though I be offred vp vpo the offerynge & sacrifice of youre faith, I am glad, and reioyce with you all:
2:18be ye glad also, and reioyce ye with me.
2:19I trust in the LORDE Iesus, to sende Timotheus shortly vnto you, that I also maye be of good comforte, whan I knowe what case ye stonde in.
2:20For I haue no man that is so like mynded to me, which with so pure affeccio careth for you:
2:21for all other seke their awne, not that which is Iesus Christes.
2:22But ye knowe the profe of him: for as a childe vnto the father, so hath he mynistred vnto me in the Gospell.
2:23Him I hope to sende, as soone as I knowe how it wyll go with me.
2:24But I trust in the LORDE, that I also my selfe shal come shortly.
2:25Neuertheles I thoughte it necessary to sende vnto you the brother Ephraditus, which is my companyon in laboure and felowe soudyer, and youre Apostell, and my mynister at my nede,
2:26for so moch as he longed after you all, and was full of heuynes, because ye had herde that he was sicke.
2:27And no doute he was sicke, and that nye vnto death: but God had mercy on him, and not on him onely, but on me also, lest I shulde haue had sorowe vpon sorowe.
2:28I haue sent him therfore the more haistely, that ye mighte se him, and reioyce agayne, and that I also mighte haue the lesse sorowe.
2:29Receaue him therfore in the LORDE with all gladnes, and make moch of soche:
2:30for because of the worke of Christ, he wente so farre, that he came nye vnto death, and regarded not his life, to fulfyll that seruyce which was lackynge on youre parte towarde me.
