1 Thessalonians - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Wherefore when wee could no longer forbeare, wee thought it good to bee left at Athens alone:
3:2And sent Timotheus our brother and minister of God, and our fellow labourer in the Gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
3:3That no man should be mooued by these afflictions: for your selues know that we are appointed therunto.
3:4For verily when wee were with you, we told you before, that we should suffer tribulation, euen as it came to passe and ye know.
3:5For this cause when I could no longer forbeare, I sent to know your faith, lest by some meanes the tempter haue tempted you, and our labor be in vaine.
3:6But now when Timotheus came from you vnto vs, and brought vs good tidings of your faith and charitie, and that ye haue good remembrance of vs alwayes, desiring greatly to see vs, as we also to see you:
3:7Therefore brethren, wee were comforted ouer you in all our affliction and distresse, by your faith:
3:8For now we liue, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
3:9For what thankes can we render to God againe for you, for all the ioy wherewith wee ioy for your sakes before our God,
3:10Night & day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
3:11Now God himselfe and our Father, and our Lord Iesus Christ direct our way vnto you.
3:12And the Lorde make you to increase, & abound in loue one towards another, and towards all men, euen as we doe towards you:
3:13To the end hee may stablish your hearts vnblameable in holinesse before God euen our Father, at the comming of our Lord Iesus Christ with all his Saints.

3:1Wherfore sence we coulde no longer forbeare, we thoughte it good to remayne at Athens alone,
3:2& sent Timotheus oure brother and mynister of God, and oure helper in ye gospell of Christ, to stablysh you and to comforte you in youre faith,
3:3that noman shulde be moued in these troubles: (for ye youre selues knowe, that we are euen appoynted there vnto.
3:4And whan we were with you, we tolde you before, that we shulde suffre tribulacion, euen as it is come to passe, & as ye knowe.)
3:5For this cause seynge I coulde no longer forbeare, I sent, that I mighte haue knowlege of youre faith, lest happly the tempter had tempted you, and lest oure laboure had bene in vayne.
3:6But now that Timotheus is come fro you vnto vs, and hath shewed vs of youre faith and loue, & how that ye haue allwaye good remembraunce of vs, desyringe to se vs as we also longe to se you:
3:7therfore brethren we haue consolacion in you in all oure trouble and necessite thorow youre faith.
3:8For now are we alyue, yf ye stonde stedfast in ye LORDE.
3:9For what thankes can we recompece to God agayne for you, because of this ioye that we haue concernynge you before oure God?
3:10We praye exceadingly daye and nighte, that we mighte se you presently, and fulfill that which is lackynge in yor faith.
3:11God himselfe or father & or LORDE Iesus Christ gyde oure iourney vnto you.
3:12But the LORDE increace you, & make you flowe ouer in loue one towarde another, and towarde all men (euen as we do towarde you)
3:13that yor hertes maye be stable and vnblameable in holynes before God oure father, at the commynge of oure LORDE Iesus Christ with all his sayntes.

3:1For which thing we suffriden no lengere, and it pleside to vs to dwelle aloone at Atenys;
3:2and we senten Tymothe, oure brother, and mynystre of God in the euangelie of Crist, to you to be confermyd, and to be tauyt for youre feith,
3:3that no man be mouyd in these tribulaciouns. For ye silf witen, that in this this thing we ben set.
3:4For whanne we weren at you, we biforseiden to you, that we schulden suffre tribulaciouns; as it is don, and ye witen.
3:5Therfor Y Poul, no lenger abidinge, sente to knowe youre feith, lest perauenture he that temptith tempte you, and youre trauel be maad veyn.
3:6But now, whanne Tymothe schal come to vs fro you, and telle to vs youre feith and charite, and that ye han good mynde of vs, euere desyringe to se vs, as we also you;
3:7therfor, britheren, we ben coumfortid in you, in al oure nede and tribulacioun, bi youre feith.
3:8For now we lyuen, if ye stonden in the Lord.
3:9For what doyng of thankingis moun we yelde to God for you, in al ioye, in which we ioyen for you bifor oure Lord?
3:10nyyt and dai more plenteuousli preiynge, that we se youre face, and fulfille tho thingis that failen to youre feith.
3:11But God hym silf and oure fadir, and the Lord Jhesu Crist, dresse oure weye to you.
3:12And the Lord multiplie you, and make youre charite to be plenteuouse of ech to othere, and in to alle men, as also we in you;
3:13that youre hertis ben confermyd with outen pleynt in holynesse, bifor God and oure fadir, in the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist with alle hise seyntis. Amen.
