1 Thessalonians - Chapter: 4

>
4:1Furthermore then brethren, we urge you and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that just as you have received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you should abound more and more.
4:2Because, you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
4:3Because, this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;
4:4that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor,
4:5not in the passion of lust, just as the Gentiles who do not know God;
4:6that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in any matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we have also forewarned you and testified.
4:7Because, God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness.
4:8Therefore he who despises, does not despise man, but God, who has also given to us His Holy Spirit.
4:9But concerning brotherly love you do not need that I should write to you, because you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;
4:10and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more;
4:11that you also study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,
4:12that you may walk honestly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
4:13But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you do not mourn just like others who have no hope.
4:14Because, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way, God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
4:15Because, we say this to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not go before those who are asleep.
4:16Because, the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. Then the dead in Christ will rise first.
4:17Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And then we will always be with the Lord.
4:18Therefore comfort one another with these words.

4:1Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
4:2For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
4:3For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4:4That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
4:5Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
4:6That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
4:7For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
4:8He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
4:9But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
4:10And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
4:11And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
4:12That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
4:13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
4:14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
4:15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
4:16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
4:18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

4:1Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Iesus, that as yee haue receiued of vs, how ye ought to walke, and to please God, so yee would abound more and more.
4:2For yee know what commandements wee gaue you, by the Lord Iesus.
4:3For this is the will of God, euen your sanctification, that yee should absteine from fornication:
4:4That euery one of you should know how to possesse his vessell in sanctification and honour:
4:5Not in the lust of concupiscence, euen as the Gentiles which know not God:
4:6That no man goe beyond and defraud his brother in any matter, because that the Lord is the auenger of all such; as we also haue forewarned you, and testified:
4:7For God hath not called vs vnto vncleannesse, but vnto holinesse.
4:8He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also giuen vnto vs his holy Spirit.
4:9But as touching brotherly loue, ye need not that I write vnto you: for yee your selues are taught of God to loue one an other.
4:10And in deed ye doe it towards all the brethren, which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more:
4:11And that ye studie to be quiet, and to doe your owne businesse, and to worke with your owne hands, (as wee commanded you:)
4:12That ye may walke honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may haue lacke of nothing.
4:13But I would not haue you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleepe, that ye sorrow not, euen as others which haue no hope.
4:14For if we beleeue that Iesus died, and rose againe: euen so them also which sleepe in Iesus, will God bring with him.
4:15For this we say vnto you by the word of the Lord, That we which are aliue and remaine vnto the comming of the Lord, shall not preuent them which are asleepe.
4:16For the Lord himselfe shall descend from heauen with a shout, with the voyce of the Archangel, and with the trumpe of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
4:17Then we which are aliue, and remaine, shalbe caught vp together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the aire: and so shall wee euer bee with the Lord.
4:18Wherefore, comfort one an other with these words.
