Titus - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Put them in minde to bee subiect to Principalities & Powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to euery good worke,
3:2To speake euill of no man, to bee no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekenesse vnto all men.
3:3For we our selues also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceiued, seruing diuers lusts and pleasures, liuing in malice and enuy, hatefull, and hating one another.
3:4But after that the kindnesse and loue of God our Sauiour toward man appeared,
3:5Not by workes of righteousnesse which wee haue done, but according to his mercy he saued vs, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy Ghost,
3:6Which hee shed on vs abundantly, through Iesus Christ our Sauiour:
3:7That being iustified by his grace, we should bee made heires according to the hope of eternall life.
3:8This is a faithfull saying, and these things I will that thou affirme constantly, that they which haue beleeued in God, might be carefull to maintaine good works: these things are good and profitable vnto men.
3:9But auoyd foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and striuings about the lawe; for they are vnprofitable and vaine.
3:10A man that is an heretike, after the first and second admonition, reiect:
3:11Knowing that hee that is such, is subuerted, and sinneth, being condemned of himselfe.
3:12When I shall send Artemas vnto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come vnto mee to Nicopolis: for I haue determined there to winter.
3:13Bring Zenas the Lawyer, and Apollos, on their iourney diligently, that nothing be wanting vnto them.
3:14And let ours also learne to maintaine good workes for necessarie vses, that they be not vnfruitfull.
3:15All that are with mee salute thee. Greete them that loue vs in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.It was written to Titus ordeined the first Bishop of the Church of the Cretians, from Nicopolis of Macedonia.

3:1Warne them that they submytte them selues vnto Prynces and to the hyer auctorite, to obey the officers, to be ready vnto all good workes,
3:2that they speake euell of no man, that they be no stryuers, but soft, shewynge all mekenes vnto all men.
3:3For we oure selues also were in tymes past, vnwyse, dishobedient, in erroure, seruynge lustes and dyuerse maners of voluptuousnes, lyuynge in maliciousnes and envye, full of hate, hatynge one another.
3:4But after that ye kyndnesse and loue of God oure Sauioure to man warde appeared,
3:5not for ye dedes of righteousnes which we wroughte, but after his mercy he saued vs by the fountayne of the new byrth, and renuynge of the holy goost,
3:6which he shed on vs abundauntly, thorow Iesus Christ oure Sauioure:
3:7yt we beynge made righteous by his grace, shulde be heyres of eternall life acordynge to hope.
3:8This is a true sayege. Of these thinges wolde I that thou shuldest speake earnestly, that they which are become beleuers in God, might be diligent to excell in good workes: for these thinges are good and profitable vnto me.
3:9As for folish questions, and genealogies, and braulynges and stryuynges aboute ye lawe, auoyde the, for they are vnprofitable and vayne.
3:10A ma that is geuen vnto heresye, after ye first and seconde monicion, auoyde,
3:11and knowe, that he that is soch, is peruerted, & synneth euen damned by his awne iudgment.
3:12Whan I shal sende Artemas or Tichicus vnto ye, make spede to come to me vnto Nicopolis, for I haue determyned there to wynter.
3:13Brynge Zenas ye Scrybe and Apollos on their iourney diligently, that nothinge be lackynge vnto them.
3:14And let oures also learne to excell in good workes, as farre forth as nede requyreth, that they be not vnfrutefull.
3:15All they that are with me, salute the. Grete them that loue vs in the faith. Grace be with you all, Amen.

3:1Amoneste hem to be sugetis to prynces, and to poweris; to obeische to that that is seid, and to be redi to al good werk;
3:2to blasfeme no man, to be not ful of chiding, but temperat, schewynge al myldenesse to alle men.
3:3For we weren sum tyme vnwise, vnbileueful, errynge, and seruynge to desiris, and to dyuerse lustis, doynge in malice and enuye, worthi to be hatid, hatinge ech othere.
3:4But whanne the benygnyte and the manhed of oure sauyour God aperide,
3:5not of werkis of riytwisnesse that we diden, but bi his merci he made vs saaf, bi waischyng of ayen bigetyng, and ayen newyng of the Hooli Goost,
3:6whom he schedde into vs plenteuousli bi Jhesu Crist,
3:7oure saueour, that we iustified bi his grace, ben eiris by hope of euerlastinge lijf.
3:8A trewe word is, and of these thingis Y wole that thou conferme othere, that thei that bileuen to God, be bisy to be aboue othere in good werkis. These thingis ben good, and profitable to men.
3:9And eschewe thou foltische questiouns, and genologies, and stryues, and fiytyngis of the lawe; for tho ben vnprofitable and veyn.
3:10Eschewe thou a man eretik, aftir oon and the secound correccioun;
3:11witinge that he that is siche a maner man is subuertid, and trespassith, and is dampned bi his owne dom.
3:12Whanne Y sende to thee Arteman, or Titicus, hiy thou to `come to me to Nycopolis; for Y haue purposid to dwelle in wyntir there.
3:13Bisili byfor sende Zenam, a wise man of lawe, and Apollo, that no thing faile to hem.
