1 Kings - Chapter: 6

>
6:1And it came to passe in the foure hundred and fourescore yeere after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth yere of Solomons reigne ouer Israel, in the moneth Zif, which is the second moneth, that he began to build the house of the Lord.
6:2And the house which king Solomon built for the Lord, the length thereof was threescore cubites, and the breadth thereof twentie cubits, and the height thereof thirtie cubites.
6:3And the porch before the Temple of the house: twentie cubites was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, and tenne cubites was the breadth thereof before the house.
6:4And for the house he made windowes of narrow lights.
6:5And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walles of the house round about, both of the Temple and of the Oracle: and hee made chambers round about.
6:6The nethermost chamber was fiue cubites broad, and the middle was sixe cubites broad, and the third was seuen cubites broad: for without in the wall of the house hee made narrowed rests round about, that the beames should not bee fastened in the walles of the house.
6:7And the house when it was in building, was built of stone, made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe, nor any toole of yron heard in the house, while it was in building.
6:8The doore for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went vp with winding staires into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.
6:9So he built the house and finished it: and couered the house with beams and boards of Cedar.
6:10And then hee built chambers against all the house, fiue cubites high: and they rested on the house with timber of Cedar.
6:11And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying;
6:12Concerning this House which thou art in building, if thou wilt walke in my Statutes, and execute my Iudgments, and keepe all my Commandements to walke in them: then will I performe my word with thee, which I spake vnto Dauid thy father.
6:13And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
6:14So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
6:15And hee built the walles of the house within with boards of Cedar, both the floore of the house, and the walles of the sieling: and hee couered them on the inside with wood, and couered the floore of the house with plankes of firre.
6:16And hee built twentie cubites on the sides of the house, both the floore, and the walles with boards of Cedar: he euen built them for it within, euen for the Oracle, euen for the most holy place.
6:17And the house, that is, the Temple before it, was fortie cubites long.
6:18And the Cedar of the house within was carued with knops, and open flowres: all was Cedar, there was no stone seene.
6:19And the Oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the Arke of the Couenant of the Lord.
6:20And the Oracle in the forepart, was twenty cubits in length and twentie cubites in breadth, and twentie cubites in the height thereof: and hee ouerlayd it with pure golde, and so couered the Altar which was of Cedar.
6:21So Solomon ouerlayd the house within with pure golde: and he made a partition, by the chaines of golde before the Oracle, and he ouerlaid it with gold.
6:22And the whole house he ouerlaid with golde vntill he had finished all the house: also the whole Altar that was by the Oracle he ouerlaide with golde.
6:23And within the Oracle he made two Cherubims of Oliue tree, each ten cubites high.
6:24And fiue cubits was the one wing of the Cherub, and fiue cubits the other wing of the Cherub: from the vttermost part of the one wing, vnto the vttermost part of the other, were ten cubites.
6:25And the other Cherub was tenne cubites: both the Cherubims were of one measure, and one size.
6:26The height of the one Cherub was ten cubites, and so was it of the other Cherub.
6:27And he set the Cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched foorth the wings of the Cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other Cherub touched the other wall: & their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
6:28And he ouerlayd the Cherubims with golde.
6:29And he carued all the walles of the house round about with carued figures of Cherubims, and palme trees, and open flowers, within & without.
6:30And the floore of the house hee ouerlayed with gold, within and without.
6:31And for the entring of the Oracle he made doores of Oliue tree: the lintell and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.
6:32The two doores also were of Oliue tree, and he carued vpon them caruings of Cherubims, and palme trees, and open flowers, and ouerlayd them with gold, and spread gold vpon the Cherubims, and vpon the palme trees.
6:33So also made hee for the doore of the Temple postes of Oliue tree a fourth part of the wall.
6:34And the two doores were of firre tree: the two leaues of the one doore were folding, and the two leaues of the other doore were folding.
6:35And he carued thereon Cherubims, and palme trees, and open flowers: and couered them with gold, fitted vpon the carued worke.
6:36And hee built the inner Court with three rowes of hewed stone, and a row of Cedar beames.
6:37In the fourth yeere was the foundation of the house of the Lord layd, in the moneth Zif.
6:38And in the eleuenth yeere in the moneth Bul (which is the eight moneth) was the house finished throughout all the parts therof, and according to all the fashion of it: So was he seuen yeeres in building it.

6:1And in the foure hundreth and foure score yeere (after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt) and in the fourth yere of the reigne of Salomon ouer Israel, in the moneth Zif, (which is the second moneth) he built the house of the Lord.
6:2And the house which King Salomon built for the Lord, was three score cubites long, and twentie broade, and thirtie cubites hie.
6:3And the porch before the Temple of the house was twentie cubites long according to the breadth of the house, and ten cubites broade before the house.
6:4And in the house he made windowes, broad without, and narrowe within.
6:5And by the wall of the house hee made galleries round about, euen by the walles of the house round about the Temple and the oracle, and made chambers round about.
6:6The nethermost gallerie was fiue cubites broade, and the middlemost sixe cubites broade, and the third seuen cubites broade: for he made restes round about without the house, that the beames should not be fastened in the walles of the house.
6:7And when the house was built, it was built of stone perfite, before it was brought, so that there was neither hammer, nor axe, nor any toole of yron heard in the house, while it was in building.
6:8The doore of the middle chamber was in the right side of the house, and men went vp with winding stayres into the middlemost, and out of the middlemost into the third.
6:9So he built the house and finished it, and sieled the house being vawted with sieling of cedar trees.
6:10And he built the galleries vpon al the wall of the house of fiue cubites height, and they were ioyned to the house with beames of cedar.
6:11And the worde of the Lord came to Salomon, saying,
6:12Cocerning this house which thou buildest, if thou wilt walke in mine ordinances, and execute my iudgements, and keepe al my commadements, to walke in them, then will I performe vnto thee my promise, which I promised to Dauid thy father.
6:13And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and wil not forsake my people Israel.
6:14So Salomon built the house and finished it,
6:15And built the walles of the house within, with boards of cedar tree from the pauement of the house vnto the walles of the sieling, and within he couered them with wood, and couered the floore of the house with planks of firre.
6:16And he built twentie cubites in the sides of the house with boards of cedar, from the floore to the walles, and he prepared a place within it for the oracle, euen the most holy place.
6:17But the house, that is, the Temple before it, was fourtie cubites long.
6:18And the cedar of the house within was carued with knops, and grauen with floures: all was cedar, so that no stone was seene.
6:19Also he prepared the place of the oracle in the mids of the house within, to set the Arke of the couenant of the Lord there.
6:20And the place of the oracle within was twentie cubites long, and twentie cubites broad, and twentie cubites hie, and hee couered it with pure golde, and couered the altar with cedar.
6:21So Salomon couered the house within with pure golde: and he shut the place of the oracle with chaines of gold, and couered it with golde.
6:22And he ouerlayde all the house with gold, vntill all the house was made perfite. also he couered the whole altar, that was before the oracle, with golde.
6:23And within the oracle he made two Cherubims of oliue tree, ten cubites hie.
6:24The wing also of the one Cherub was fiue cubites, and the wing of the other Cherub was fiue cubites: from the vttermost part of one of his wings vnto the vttermost part of the other of his wings, were ten cubites.
6:25Also the other Cherub was of ten cubites: both the Cherubims were of one measure and one sise.
6:26For the height of the one Cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other Cherub.
6:27And he put the Cherubims within the inner house, and the Cherubims stretched out their wings, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other Cherub touched the other wall: and their other wings touched one another in the middes of the house.
6:28And he ouerlaied the Cherubims with golde.
6:29And he carued all the walles of the house round about with grauen figures of Cherubims and of Palmetrees, and grauen flowres within and without.
6:30And the floore of the house hee couered with golde within and without.
6:31And in the entring of the oracle he made two doores of oliue tree: and the vpper post and side postes were fiue square.
6:32The two doores also were of oliue tree, and he graued them with grauing of Cherubims and palme trees, and grauen floures, and couered them with golde, and layed thin golde vpon the Cherubims and vpon the palme trees.
6:33And so made he for the doore of the Temple, postes of oliue tree foure square.
6:34But the two doores were of firre tree, the two sides of the one doore were round, and the two sides of the other doore were round.
6:35And he graued Cherubims, and palme trees, and carued floures and couered the carued worke with golde, finely wrought.
6:36And hee built the court within with three rowes of hewed stone, and one rowe of beames of cedar.
6:37In the fourth yeere was the foundation of the house of the Lord layed in the moneth of Zif:
6:38And in the eleuenth yeere in the moneth of Bul, (which is the eight moneth) hee finished the house with all the furniture thereof, and in euery point: so was he seuen yeere in building it.

6:1And it came to passe that in the .iiij.C. and .lxxx. yere (after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egipt) and the .iiij. yere of the raygne of Salomon vpon Israel: and in the moneth ziff, which is the .ij. moneth, he beganne to buylde the house of the Lord.
6:2And the house which Salomon buylt for the Lorde, was .lx. cubytes longe, and .xx. cubytes broade, and .xxx. cubites hye.
6:3And he made a porche before the body of the temple, which was .xx. cubytes long after the bredth of the house, and .x. cubites broade, euen in the forefront of the house.
6:4And in the house he made wyndowes broade without, and narowe within.
6:5And in the wall of the house, he made chambers rounde about, (euen in the walles of the house) rounde about the temple & the queer: and made sydes rounde about.
6:6The nethermost chamber was fyue cubytes broad, and the myddle was syxe cubytes broade, & the thyrd was seuen cubites broad. For without in the wall of the house he layed beames round about, that the beames of the chambers shuld not be fastened in the walles of the house.
6:7And the house was buylt of stone, made perfecte allready before it was brought thyther, so that there was neither hammer, ner axe, ether any tole of yron heard in the house, whyle it was in buyldinge.
6:8The dore of the myddle chambre was in the ryght syde of the house: and men went vp wt windyng stayres into the myddle chambre, and out of the myddle, into the thyrde.
6:9And so he buylte the house and fynysshed it, and roufft it with beames of Cedar timber.
6:10And then he buylt chambers to all the temple, of fyue cubytes heygth, and they were ioyned to the house with beames of Cedar.
6:11And the worde of the Lorde came to Salomon, saying:
6:12concernynge the house which thou arte in buyldynge, yf thou wylt walke in myne ordinaunces, and execute my lawes, and kepe my commaundementes, to walke in them: then wyll I make good vnto the my promes, which I promysed Dauid thy father.
6:13And I wyll dwell amonge the chyldren of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
6:14Salomon therfore built the house and fynysshed it,
6:15and syled the walles of the house within, wt borders of Cedar tree: euen from the pauement of the house vnto the rouffe dyd he syle the walles of it within, with Cedar tre: and borded the floure of the house wt planckes of fyrre.
6:16And he syled .xx. cubytes in the sydes of the queer of the temple, both floore & walles with bordes of Cedar, & dressed it within in the secrete place of the temple, euen in the moost holye.
6:17And the fyrst house, that is to saye, the body of the temple without, was fourtye cubites longe.
6:18And the Cedar of the house within, was kerued with knoppes, & grauen with floures, and all was Cedar timber, so that no stone was sene.
6:19And the queer that was within the temple, he prepared, to set there the arcke of the appoyntement of the Lorde:
6:20And the queer before was twentye cubites longe, and twenty cubites in bredth, and twentye cubytes in heygth. And he syled it with pure golde, and borded the aultare with Cedar.
6:21And Salomon also syled the house within with pure golde. And he made golden barres runne alonge the queer, which he had couered with golde.
6:22And the whole house, he ouerlayd with golde vntyll he had ended it. And the aultare that was in the queer he ouerlayde with golde also.
6:23And within the queer he made .ij. Cherubins of olyue tree, ten cubytes hye.
6:24Fyue cubytes longe was a wynge of the one Cherub, and fyue cubites longe was a winge of the other Cherub: so that from the vttermost parte of one wyng vnto the vttermost part of the other, were ten cubites.
6:25And the other Cherub was ten cubites hye also, so that both the Cherubes were of one measure & one syse.
6:26For the heigth of the one Cherub was ten cubites, and so was it of the other. And he put the Cherubes within the ynner house.
6:27And the Cherubes stretched out their winges, so that the one winge of the one touched the one wall, and the one winge of the other touched the other wall. And the other two winges of them touched one another in the myddes of the house.
6:28And he ouerlayed the Cherubs with golde.
6:29And in all the walles of the house round about, he made fygures of carued and syled worke: as namely, pictures of Cherubs and Palmetrees and grauen floures, both within in the queer, & without in the temple.
6:30And the floure of the house he couered with golde both within in the queer and also without in the temple.
6:31And in the enteryng of the queer he made two dores of Olyue tree. And both the vpper & two syde postes were .v. square. The two dores also were of Oliue tree,
6:32and he graued them with grauynge of Cherubs and Palmetrees, and grauen floures, & couered them with gold, and layed thinne plates of golde vpon the Cherubs and Palmetrees.
6:33And in like maner dyd he in the dore of the temple, sauynge that the postes were of Oliuetre fouresquare.
6:34The two dores were of fyrre tree: and eyther dore with two folding leaues,
6:35he graued theron Cherubs Palmetrees, and flours: and couered them with golde, which was layed thynne vpon the carued worke.
6:36And he buylt the ynner court wt thre rowes of hewed stone, and one rowe of Cedar wodde.
