1 Kings - Chapter: 7

>
7:1But Solomon was building his owne house thirteene yeres, and he finished all his house.
7:2Hee built also the house of the forrest of Lebanon; the length thereof was a hundred cubites, and the breadth thereof fiftie cubites, and the height thereof thirtie cubites, vpon foure rowes of Cedar pillars, with Cedar beames vpon the pillars.
7:3And it was couered with Cedar aboue vpon the beames, that lay on fortie fiue pillars, fifteene in a row.
7:4And there were windowes in three rowes, and light was against light in three rankes.
7:5And all the doores and postes were square, with the windowes: and light was against light in three rankes.
7:6And he made a porch of pillars, the length thereof was fiftie cubites, and the breadth thereof thirtie cubites: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars, and the thicke beame were before them.
7:7Then hee made a porch for the throne where he might iudge, euen the porch of Iudgement: and it was couered with Cedar from one side of the floore to the other.
7:8And his house where he dwelt, had another court within the porch, which was of the like worke: Solomon made also an house for Pharaohs daughter, ( whom he had taken to wife) like vnto this porch.
7:9All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with sawes, within and without, euen from the foundation vnto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.
7:10And the foundation was of costly stones, euen great stones; stones of ten cubites, and stones of eight cubites.
7:11And aboue were costly stones (after the measures of hewed stones) and Cedars.
7:12And the great court round about, was with three rowes of hewed stones, and a row of Cedar beames, both for the inner court of the house of the Lord, and for the porch of the house.
7:13And king Solomon sent and fet Hiram out of Tyre.
7:14Hee was a widowes sonne of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brasse, and he was filled with wisedome, and vnderstanding, and cunning to worke all workes in brasse: and hee came to king Solomon, and wrought all his worke.
7:15For he cast two pillars of brasse of eighteene cubites high a piece: and a line of twelue cubites did compasse either of them about.
7:16And hee made two Chapiters of molten brasse, to set vpon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was fiue cubites, and the height of the other chapiter was fiue cubites:
7:17And nets of checker worke, and wreathes of chaine worke, for the chapiters which were vpon the top of the pillars: seuen for the one chapiter, and seuen for the other chapiter.
7:18And he made the pillars, and two rowes round about vpon the one networke, to couer the chapiters that were vpon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.
7:19And the chapiters that were vpon the top of the pillars, were of lillie worke in the porch, foure cubites.
7:20And the chapiters vpon the two pillars had pomegranates also, aboue, ouer against the belly which was by the networke: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rowes round about, vpon the other chapiter.
7:21And he set vp the pillars in the porch of the temple: and hee set vp the right pillar, and called the name therof Iachin: and he set vp the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.
7:22And vpon the top of the pillars was lillie worke: so was the worke of the pillars finished.
7:23And he made a moulten Sea, ten cubites from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, & his height was fiue cubits: and a line of thirtie cubites did compasse it round about.
7:24And vnder the brimme of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubite, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rowes, when it was cast.
7:25It stood vpon twelue oxen, three looking toward the North, and three looking toward the West, and three looking toward the South, and three looking toward the East: and the Sea was set aboue vpon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
7:26And it was an hand breadth thicke, and the brimme thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowres of lillies: it contained two thousand Baths.
7:27And he made ten bases of brasse; foure cubites was the length of one base, and foure cubites the breadth thereof, and three cubites the height of it.
7:28And the worke of the bases was on this maner: they had borders, and the borders were betweene the ledges:
7:29And on the borders that were betweene the ledges were lyons, oxen, and Cherubims: and vpon the ledges there was a base aboue: and beneath the lyons and oxen were certaine additions made of thinne worke.
7:30And euery base had foure brasen wheeles, and plates of brasse: and the foure corners therof had vndersetters: vnder the lauer were vndersetters molten, at the side of euery addition.
7:31And the mouth of it within the chapiter, and aboue, was a cubite: but the mouth thereof was round after the worke of the base, a cubite and an halfe: and also vpon the mouth of it were grauings with their borders, foure square not round.
7:32And vnder the borders were foure wheeles: & the axletrees of the wheeles were ioyned to the base, and the height of a wheele was a cubite and halfe a cubite.
7:33And the worke of the wheeles was like the worke of a charet wheele: their axletrees and their naues, and their felloes, and their spokes were all molten.
7:34And there were foure vndersetters to the foure corners of one base: and the vndersetters were of the very base it selfe.
7:35And in the top of the base was there a round compasse of halfe a cubite high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof, and the borders thereof were of the same.
7:36For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graued Cherubims, lions, and palme trees, according to the proportion of euery one, and additions round about.
7:37After this maner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.
7:38Then made hee ten lauers of brasse: one lauer conteined fourtie baths: and euery lauer was foure cubites, and vpon euery one of the ten bases, one lauer.
7:39And he put fiue bases on the right side of the house, and fiue on the left side of the house: and he set the Sea on the right side of the house Eastward, ouer against the South.
7:40And Hiram made the lauers, and the shouels, and the basons: So Hiram made an ende of doing all the worke that hee made King Solomon, for the house of the Lord.
7:41The two pillars, and the two bowles of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars: and the two networkes, to couer the two bowles of the chapiters which were vpon the top of the pillars:
7:42And foure hundred Pomegranates for the two networkes, euen two rowes of Pomegranates for one networke, to couer the two bowles of the chapiters that were vpon the pillars:
7:43And the ten bases, and ten lauers on the bases.
7:44And one Sea, and twelue oxen vnder the Sea.
7:45And the pots, and the shouels, and the basons: and all these vessels which Hiram made to King Solomon, for the house of the Lord, were of bright brasse.
7:46In the plaine of Iordane did the king cast them in the clay ground, betweene Succoth and Zarthan.
7:47And Solomon left all the vessels vnweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brasse found out.
7:48And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained vnto the house of the Lord: the Altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the Shewbread was:
7:49And the candlesticks of pure gold, fiue on the right side, and fiue on the left, before the Oracle, with the flowers, and the lampes, and the tongs of gold,
7:50And the boules, and the snuffers, and the basons, & the spoones, and the censers of pure gold: and the hindges of gold, both for the doores of the inner house the most Holy place, and for the doores of the house, to wit, of the temple.
7:51So was ended all the worke that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord: and Solomon brought in the things which Dauid his father had dedicated, euen the siluer, and the gold, & the vessels did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

7:1Bvt Salomon was building his owne house thirteene yeeres, and finished all his house.
7:2He built also an house called the forest of Lebanon, an hundreth cubites long, and fiftie cubites broad, and thirtie cubites hie, vpon foure rowes of cedar pillars, and cedar beames were layed vpon the pillars.
7:3And it was couered aboue with cedar vpon the beames, that lay on the fourtie and fiue pillars, fifteene in a rowe.
7:4And the windowes were in three rowes, and windowe was against windowe in three rankes.
7:5And all the doores, and the side postes with the windowes were foure square, and windowe was ouer against windowe in three rankes.
7:6And he made a porche of pillars fiftie cubites long, and thirtie cubites broade, and the porch was before them, euen before them were thirtie pillars.
7:7Then he made a porch for the throne, where he iudged, euen a porch of iudgement, and it was sieled with cedar from pauement to pauement.
7:8And in his house, where he dwelt, was an other hall more inwarde then the porche which was of the same worke. Also Salomon made an house for Pharaohs daughter ( whom he had taken to wife) like vnto this porche.
7:9All these were of costly stones, hewed by measure, and sawed with sawes within and without, from the foundation vnto the stones of an hand breadth, and on the outside to the great court.
7:10And the foundation was of costly stones, and great stones, euen of stones of ten cubites, and stones of eight cubites.
7:11Aboue also were costly stones, squared by rule, and boardes of cedar.
7:12And the great court round about was with three rowes of hewed stones, and a rowe of cedar beames: so was it to ye inner court of the house of the Lord, and to the porche of the house.
7:13Then King Salomon sent, and set one Hiram out of Tyrus.
7:14He was a widowes sonne of the tribe of Naphtali, his father being a man of Tyrus, and wrought in brasse: he was full of wisedome, and vnderstanding, and knowledge to worke all maner of worke in brasse: who came to King Salomon, and wrought all his worke.
7:15For he cast two pillars of brasse: ye height of a pillar was eighteene cubites, and a threede of twelue cubites did compasse either of ye pillars.
7:16And he made two chapiters of molten brasse to set on the tops of the pillars: the height of one of the chapiters was fiue cubites, and the height of the other chapiter was fiue cubites.
7:17He made grates like networke, and wrethen worke like chaynes for the chapiters that were on the top of the pillars, euen seuen for the one chapiter, and seuen for the other chapiter.
7:18So he made the pillars and two rowes of pomegranates round about in the one grate to couer the chapiters that were vpon the top. And thus did he for the other chapiter.
7:19And the chapiters that were on the toppe of the pillars were after lilye worke in ye porch, foure cubites.
7:20And the chapiters vpon the two pillars had also aboue, ouer against the belly within the networke pomegranates: for two hudreth pomegranates were in the two rankes about vpon either of the chapiters.
7:21And he set vp the pillars in the porche of the Temple. And when hee had set vp the right pillar, he called the name thereof Iachin: and when he had set vp the left pillar, he called the name thereof Boaz.
7:22And vpon the top of the pillars was worke of lilyes: so was the workemanship of the pillars finished.
7:23And he made a molten sea ten cubites wide from brim to brim, rounde in compasse, and fiue cubites hie, and a line of thirtie cubites did compasse it about.
7:24And vnder the brimme of it were knoppes like wilde cucumers compassing it round about, ten in one cubite, compassing the sea round about: and the two rowes of knoppes were cast, when it was molten.
7:25It stoode on twelue bulles, three looking towarde the North, and three toward the West, and three toward the South, and three towarde the East: and the sea stoode aboue vpon them, and all their hinder partes were inward.
7:26It was an hand bredth thicke, and the brim thereof was like the worke of the brim of a cup with floures of lilyes: it contained two thousad Baths.
7:27And he made tenne bases of brasse, one base was foure cubites long, and foure cubites broad, and three cubites hie.
7:28And the worke of the bases was on this maner, They had borders, and the borders were betweene the ledges:
7:29And on the borders that were betweene the ledges, were lyons, bulles and Cherubims: and vpon the ledges there was a base aboue: and beneath the lyons and bulles, were addicions made of thinne worke.
7:30And euery base had foure brasen wheeles, and plates of brasse: and the foure corners had vndersetters: vnder the caldron were vndersetters molten at the side of euery addicion.
7:31And the mouth of it was within the chapiter and aboue to measure by the cubite: for the mouth thereof was round made like a base, and it was a cubite and halfe a cubite: and also vpon the mouth thereof were grauen workes, whose borders were foure square, and not round.
7:32And vnder the borders were foure wheeles, and the axeltrees of the wheeles ioyned to the base: and the height of a wheele was a cubite and halfe a cubite.
7:33And the facion of the wheeles was like the facion of a charet wheele, their axeltrees, and their naues and their felloes, and their spokes were all molten.
7:34And foure vndersetters were vpon the foure corners of one base: and the vndersetters thereof were of the base it selfe.
7:35And in the toppe of the base was a rounde compasse of halfe a cubite hie round about: and vpon the toppe of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.
7:36And vpon the tables of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof he did graue Cherubims, lions and palmetrees, on the side of euery one, and addicions round about.
7:37Thus made he the tenne bases, They had all one casting, one measure, and one syse.
7:38Then made he ten caldrons of brasse, one caldron conteyned fourty Baths: and euery caldron was foure cubites, one caldron was vpon one base throughout the ten bases.
7:39And he set the bases, fiue on the right side of the house, and fiue on the left side of the house. And he set the sea on the right side of the house Eastward toward the South.
7:40And Hiram made caldrons, and besomes, and basens, and Hiram finished all the worke that he made to King Salomon for the house of ye Lord:
7:41To wit, two pillars and two bowles of the chapiters that were on the toppe of the two pillars, and two grates to couer the two bowles of the chapiters which were vpon the toppe of the pillars,
7:42And foure hundreth pomegranates for the two grates, euen two rowes of pomegranates for euery grate to couer the two bowles of the chapiters, that were vpon the pillars,
7:43And the ten bases, and ten caldrons vpon the bases,
7:44And the sea, and twelue bulles vnder that sea,
7:45And pottes, and besomes and basens: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to King Salomon for the house of the Lord, were of shining brasse.
7:46In the plaine of Iorden did the King cast them in clay betweene Succoth and Zarthan.
7:47And Salomon left to weigh all the vessels because of the exceeding aboundance, neyther could the weight of the brasse be counted.
7:48So Salomon made all the vessels that perteyned vnto the house of the Lord, the golden altar, and the golden table, whereon the shewbread was,
7:49And the candlestickes, fiue at the right side, and fiue at the left, before the oracle of pure gold, and the flowres, and the lampes, and the snuffers of golde,
7:50And the bowles, and the hookes, and the basens, and the spoones, and the ashpannes of pure golde, and the hinges of golde for the doores of the house within, euen for the most holy place, and for the doores of the house, to wit, of the Temple.
7:51So was finished all the worke that King Salomon made for the house of the Lord, and Salomon brought in the things which Dauid his father had dedicated: the siluer and the golde and the vessels, and layed them among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

7:1But Salomon was buyldyng his awne house thirtene yere, & finysshed it all.
7:2And he buylt the house in the wodd of Libanon, an hundred cubytes longe, and fyftye cubytes broad, & .xxx. cubytes hye. And it stode vpon foure rowes of Cedar pyllars, and Cedar beames were layed vpon the pyllers.
7:3And the rouffe was Cedar aboue vpon the beames, that laye on the pyllers: euen fyue and fourtye beames in fyftene rowes.
7:4And there were wyndowes in thre rowes: and the wyndowes were one agaynst another thre folde.
7:5And the dores with the syde postes, and the vpperposte were fouresquare, and had windowes one agaynst another thre folde.
7:6And he made a porch by the pillars, that bare vp the house .l. cubites longe, and .xxx. cubites broad: & that porch was before those & the other pillers. For there was a thick tree set before them.
7:7Then he made a porche to syt a iudge in, syled with Cedar thorowout all the pauementes.
7:8And hys awne house (that he kept residence in: & that was in another courte without the porch) was made of that same worcke. And then Salomon made an house for Pharaos daughter whom he had taken to wyfe, lyke vnto the fasshion of that porche.
7:9And all these were of the best stones, hewed after a measure, and sawed wt sawes within and without, from the foundacion vnto the beames that laye aboue, after the measure, & euen so on the outsyde towarde the great court.
7:10And the foundacyon was layed vpon rych stones & the very great stones: wherof some were .x. cubites, & some .viij. cubites.
7:11And aboue were good stones squared after a certayn rule, & couered wt Cedar.
7:12And the great court round about was wt thre rowes of hewed stone, & one rowe of Cedar planckes, after the maner of the ynner court of the house of the Lorde, & of the porch of the temple.
7:13And kyng Salomon sent and fett one Hiram out of Tire,
7:14a wedowes sonne of the tribe of Nephtalim, his father beyng a man of Tire. Which Hiram was a craftes man in brasse full of wysdome, vnderstandynge and connynge: to worke all maner of worcke in brasse. And he came to king Salomon, & wrought all his worcke.
7:15For he cast two pillers of brasse of .xviij. cubites hye a pece, & a stringe of .xij. cubites dyd compasse ether them about.
7:16And he made .ij. heed peces of molten brasse (after the fasshion of a crowne) to sett on the toppes of the pyllers. The heigth of the one heed pece conteined .v. cubites, & the heigth of the other heed pece conteyned .v. cubites also:
7:17he made also net worck & garlandes of cheyne worcke, vpon the heed peces that were on the top of the pyllers, euen seuen rowes vpon the one heed pece, and seuen vpon the other.
7:18And so he made the pyllers, and two rowes round about, in the one wrethen worcke, to couer the heed peces that were vpon the pomgranates. And thus dyd he also for the other heed pece.
7:19And the heed peces that were on the toppes of the pillers, couered he aboue with a curyous worke of roses: towarde the palace by the space of .iiij. cubytes.
7:20Likewyse, vnder the heed peces in those .ij. pillers beneth, oueragainst the middes & before the net worke. And vpon the seconde heed pece were ther .ij.C. pomgranates in two rowes round about.
7:21And he set vp the pillers in the porch of the temple. And when he had set vp the rightpiller, he called the name therof Ioachim: & whan he had set vp the left piller, he called the name therof Boaz.
7:22And in the toppe of the pyllers was a worke of roses, and so was the workmanshyp of the pyllers finyshed.
7:23And he made a molten lauatory, ten cubytes wyde from brym to brym, round in compasse, & .v. cubytes hye. And a stryng of thirtye cubytes dyd compasse it about:
7:24and vnder the brym of it, there were knoppes round about, ten in one cubite: and they compassed the lauatory round about. And the knoppes were cast wt it, in two rowes, when it was caste.
7:25And it stode on twelue oxen: of which thre loked toward the north .iij. towarde the west .iij. towarde the south, & .iij. toward the east. and the lauatory stode vpon them, & all theyr hinderpartes were inward.
7:26It was an hand breadeth thycke, & the brym wrought lyke the brim of a cup wt floures of lylies. And it conteyned two thousande bates.
7:27And he made .x. sokettes of brasse .iiij. cubites longe, and .iiij. cubites broade a pece, & .iij. cubites hye.
7:28And the worke of the sokettes was on this maner. They had sides, and the sydes were betwene the ledges.
7:29And on the sydes that were betwene the ledges, were lyons, oxen and cherubs. And lykewyse, vpon the ledges that were aboue: and beneth the lyons and oxen were certayne addicions made of thynne worke.
7:30And vnder euery soket, were foure brasen wheles, and bordes of brasse. And in the foure corners therof, were vndersetters vnder the lauatorye, cast eche oueragaynst hys felowe.
7:31And the stalke of the lauatory was in the myddle of it, one cubite hye, and a cubite and an halfe rounde: and in the heigth of it were grauen workes, whose sydes were made foursquare, and not rounde.
7:32And vnder the sydes were .iiij. wheles: and the axeltrees ioyned fast to the bottome. And the heygth of euery whele was a cubyte and an halfe.
7:33And the workmanshyp of the wheles was lyke the worke of a charret whele. And the axeltrees, the nauelles, spokes and shaftes were all molten:
7:34And there were foure vndersetters in the .iiij. corners of one socket: and the vndersetters were of the very bottome selfe.
7:35And in the heygth of the bottome was there round compasse of a cubite hye: and in that heygth of the bottome, there proceaded both ledges & sydes out of the same.
7:36For in the bordes of the ledges, and on the sydes, he had grauen pyctures of cherubins, lyons and palmetrees, one by an other rounde aboute.
7:37Thus made he the ten sockettes after this maner. And they had all one fashion of castyng: one measure, and one sise.
7:38Then made he .x. lauers of brasse, one lauer conteyning .xl. bates: and one lauer was foure cubytes, and vpon euery one of the ten sockettes, he put one lauer.
7:39And he put fyue of those sockettes on the right side of the house and other fyue on the lefte. And he set the lauatorye on the ryght syde of the house eastwarde and towarde the south.
7:40And Hiram made pottes, shouels and basens, and so finyshed all the worke that he made kyng Salomon for the house of the Lorde:
7:41that is to saye, two pillers, two round heed peces, that were to be sett on the toppes of the two pillers .ii. net workes to couer the two round heed peces set vpon the toppes of the pyllers,
7:42and .iiij.C. pomgranates for the two net workes, euen two rowes of pomgranates in one net worke, to couer the two heed peces that were to be sett on the toppes of the pyllers.
7:43And the ten sockettes, and ten lauers on the sockettes.
7:44The lauatory and .xij. oxen vnder it:
7:45and pottes, shouelles and basens. And all these vessels which Hiram made to kyng Salomon for the house of the Lord, were of bright brasse.
7:46In the playne of Iordan did the king cast them: euen in the thycke claye betwene Sococh and Zarthan.
7:47And Salomon left all the vessels vnwayed, because they were so exceadyng many, neyther founde they oute the weyght of the brasse.
7:48And so Salomon made all the vessels that pertayned vnto the house of the Lorde: the golden aulter and the golden table, wheron the shewe bread was.
7:49And fyue candelstyckes, for the ryght syde, and fyue for the lefte before the queer of pure golde: with floures,
7:50lampes, and snoffers of golde: & boules, flat peces, basons, spones and masoures of pure golde: and hindges made he of golde for the dores of the queer, the place moost holy, and for the dores of the temple also.
7:51And so was ended all the worke that kyng Salomon made for the house of the Lorde. And Salomon brought in the thinges which Dauid his father had dedicated: euen the siluer, golde, & vessels: and layed them vp amonge the treasures of the house of the Lorde.
