1 Kings - Chapter: 7


7:1	But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
7:2	He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.
7:3	And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.
7:4	And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.
7:5	And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.
7:6	And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.
7:7	Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.
7:8	And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.
7:9	All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.
7:10	And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.
7:11	And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.
7:12	And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.
7:13	And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.
7:14	He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.
7:15	For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.
7:16	And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:
7:17	And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.
7:18	And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.
7:19	And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.
7:20	And the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter.
7:21	And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.
7:22	And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.
7:23	And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
7:24	And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.
7:25	It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
7:26	And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.
7:27	And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.
7:28	And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:
7:29	And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.
7:30	And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.
7:31	And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.
7:32	And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.
7:33	And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.
7:34	And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.
7:35	And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.
7:36	For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.
7:37	After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.
7:38	Then made he ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths: and every laver was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.
7:39	And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south.
7:40	And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:
7:41	The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars;
7:42	And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars;
7:43	And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;
7:44	And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;
7:45	And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.
7:46	In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.
7:47	And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.
7:48	And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was,
7:49	And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,
7:50	And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple.
7:51	So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.


7:1	ואת ביתו בנה שׁלמה שׁלשׁ עשׂרה שׁנה ויכל את כל ביתו׃
7:2	ויבן את בית יער הלבנון מאה אמה ארכו וחמשׁים אמה רחבו ושׁלשׁים אמה קומתו על ארבעה טורי עמודי ארזים וכרתות ארזים על העמודים׃
7:3	וספן בארז ממעל על הצלעת אשׁר על העמודים ארבעים וחמשׁה חמשׁה עשׂר הטור׃
7:4	ושׁקפים שׁלשׁה טורים ומחזה אל מחזה שׁלשׁ פעמים׃
7:5	וכל הפתחים והמזוזות רבעים שׁקף ומול מחזה אל מחזה שׁלשׁ פעמים׃
7:6	ואת אולם העמודים עשׂה חמשׁים אמה ארכו ושׁלשׁים אמה רחבו ואולם על פניהם ועמדים ועב על פניהם׃
7:7	ואולם הכסא אשׁר ישׁפט שׁם אלם המשׁפט עשׂה וספון בארז מהקרקע עד הקרקע׃
7:8	וביתו אשׁר ישׁב שׁם חצר האחרת מבית לאולם כמעשׂה הזה היה ובית יעשׂה לבת פרעה אשׁר לקח שׁלמה כאולם הזה׃
7:9	כל אלה אבנים יקרת כמדת גזית מגררות במגרה מבית ומחוץ וממסד עד הטפחות ומחוץ עד החצר הגדולה׃
7:10	ומיסד אבנים יקרות אבנים גדלות אבני עשׂר אמות ואבני שׁמנה אמות׃
7:11	ומלמעלה אבנים יקרות כמדות גזית וארז׃
7:12	וחצר הגדולה סביב שׁלשׁה טורים גזית וטור כרתת ארזים ולחצר בית יהוה הפנימית ולאלם הבית׃
7:13	וישׁלח המלך שׁלמה ויקח את חירם מצר׃
7:14	בן אשׁה אלמנה הוא ממטה נפתלי ואביו אישׁ צרי חרשׁ נחשׁת וימלא את החכמה ואת התבונה ואת הדעת לעשׂות כל מלאכה בנחשׁת ויבוא אל המלך שׁלמה ויעשׂ את כל מלאכתו׃
7:15	ויצר את שׁני העמודים נחשׁת שׁמנה עשׂרה אמה קומת העמוד האחד וחוט שׁתים עשׂרה אמה יסב את העמוד השׁני׃
7:16	ושׁתי כתרת עשׂה לתת על ראשׁי העמודים מצק נחשׁת חמשׁ אמות קומת הכתרת האחת וחמשׁ אמות קומת הכתרת השׁנית׃
7:17	שׂבכים מעשׂה שׂבכה גדלים מעשׂה שׁרשׁרות לכתרת אשׁר על ראשׁ העמודים שׁבעה לכתרת האחת ושׁבעה לכתרת השׁנית׃
7:18	ויעשׂ את העמודים ושׁני טורים סביב על השׂבכה האחת לכסות את הכתרת אשׁר על ראשׁ הרמנים וכן עשׂה לכתרת השׁנית׃
7:19	וכתרת אשׁר על ראשׁ העמודים מעשׂה שׁושׁן באולם ארבע אמות׃
7:20	וכתרת על שׁני העמודים גם ממעל מלעמת הבטן אשׁר לעבר שׂבכה והרמונים מאתים טרים סביב על הכתרת השׁנית׃
7:21	ויקם את העמדים לאלם ההיכל ויקם את העמוד הימני ויקרא את שׁמו יכין ויקם את העמוד השׂמאלי ויקרא את שׁמו בעז׃
7:22	ועל ראשׁ העמודים מעשׂה שׁושׁן ותתם מלאכת העמודים׃
7:23	ויעשׂ את הים מוצק עשׂר באמה משׂפתו עד שׂפתו עגל סביב וחמשׁ באמה קומתו וקוה שׁלשׁים באמה יסב אתו סביב׃
7:24	ופקעים מתחת לשׂפתו סביב סבבים אתו עשׂר באמה מקפים את הים סביב שׁני טורים הפקעים יצקים ביצקתו׃
7:25	עמד על שׁני עשׂר בקר שׁלשׁה פנים צפונה ושׁלשׁה פנים ימה ושׁלשׁה פנים נגבה ושׁלשׁה פנים מזרחה והים עליהם מלמעלה וכל אחריהם ביתה׃
7:26	ועביו טפח ושׂפתו כמעשׂה שׂפת כוס פרח שׁושׁן אלפים בת יכיל׃
7:27	ויעשׂ את המכנות עשׂר נחשׁת ארבע באמה ארך המכונה האחת וארבע באמה רחבה ושׁלשׁ באמה קומתה׃
7:28	וזה מעשׂה המכונה מסגרת להם ומסגרת בין השׁלבים׃
7:29	ועל המסגרות אשׁר בין השׁלבים אריות בקר וכרובים ועל השׁלבים כן ממעל ומתחת לאריות ולבקר ליות מעשׂה מורד׃
7:30	וארבעה אופני נחשׁת למכונה האחת וסרני נחשׁת וארבעה פעמתיו כתפת להם מתחת לכיר הכתפת יצקות מעבר אישׁ ליות׃
7:31	ופיהו מבית לכתרת ומעלה באמה ופיה עגל מעשׂה כן אמה וחצי האמה וגם על פיה מקלעות ומסגרתיהם מרבעות לא עגלות׃
7:32	וארבעת האופנים למתחת למסגרות וידות האופנים במכונה וקומת האופן האחד אמה וחצי האמה׃
7:33	ומעשׂה האופנים כמעשׂה אופן המרכבה ידותם וגביהם וחשׁקיהם וחשׁריהם הכל מוצק׃
7:34	וארבע כתפות אל ארבע פנות המכנה האחת מן המכנה כתפיה׃
7:35	ובראשׁ המכונה חצי האמה קומה עגל סביב ועל ראשׁ המכנה ידתיה ומסגרתיה ממנה׃
7:36	ויפתח על הלחת ידתיה ועל ומסגרתיה כרובים אריות ותמרת כמער אישׁ וליות סביב׃
7:37	כזאת עשׂה את עשׂר המכנות מוצק אחד מדה אחת קצב אחד לכלהנה׃
7:38	ויעשׂ עשׂרה כירות נחשׁת ארבעים בת יכיל הכיור האחד ארבע באמה הכיור האחד כיור אחד על המכונה האחת לעשׂר המכנות׃
7:39	ויתן את המכנות חמשׁ על כתף הבית מימין וחמשׁ על כתף הבית משׂמאלו ואת הים נתן מכתף הבית הימנית קדמה ממול נגב׃
7:40	ויעשׂ חירום את הכירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ויכל חירם לעשׂות את כל המלאכה אשׁר עשׂה למלך שׁלמה בית יהוה׃
7:41	עמדים שׁנים וגלת הכתרת אשׁר על ראשׁ העמדים שׁתים והשׂבכות שׁתים לכסות את שׁתי גלת הכתרת אשׁר על ראשׁ העמודים׃
7:42	ואת הרמנים ארבע מאות לשׁתי השׂבכות שׁני טורים רמנים לשׂבכה האחת לכסות את שׁתי גלת הכתרת אשׁר על פני העמודים׃
7:43	ואת המכנות עשׂר ואת הכירת עשׂרה על המכנות׃
7:44	ואת הים האחד ואת הבקר שׁנים עשׂר תחת הים׃
7:45	ואת הסירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ואת כל הכלים האהל אשׁר עשׂה חירם למלך שׁלמה בית יהוה נחשׁת ממרט׃
7:46	בככר הירדן יצקם המלך במעבה האדמה בין סכות ובין צרתן׃
7:47	וינח שׁלמה את כל הכלים מרב מאד מאד לא נחקר משׁקל הנחשׁת׃
7:48	ויעשׂ שׁלמה את כל הכלים אשׁר בית יהוה את מזבח הזהב ואת השׁלחן אשׁר עליו לחם הפנים זהב׃
7:49	ואת המנרות חמשׁ מימין וחמשׁ משׂמאול לפני הדביר זהב סגור והפרח והנרת והמלקחים זהב׃
7:50	והספות והמזמרות והמזרקות והכפות והמחתות זהב סגור והפתות לדלתות הבית הפנימי לקדשׁ הקדשׁים לדלתי הבית להיכל זהב׃
7:51	ותשׁלם כל המלאכה אשׁר עשׂה המלך שׁלמה בית יהוה ויבא שׁלמה את קדשׁי דוד אביו את הכסף ואת הזהב ואת הכלים נתן באצרות בית יהוה׃


7:1	And his own house hath Solomon built thirteen years, and he finisheth all his house.
7:2	And he buildeth the house of the forest of Lebanon; a hundred cubits `is' its length, and fifty cubits its breadth, and thirty cubits its height, on four rows of cedar pillars, and cedar-beams on the pillars;
7:3	and `it is' covered with cedar above, on the sides that `are' on the forty and five pillars, fifteen in the row.
7:4	And windows `are' in three rows, and sight `is' over-against sight three times.
7:5	And all the openings and the side-posts `are' square -- windows; and sight `is' over-against sight three times.
7:6	And the porch of the pillars he hath made; fifty cubits its length, and thirty cubits its breadth, and the porch `is' before them, and pillars and a thick place `are' before them.
7:7	And the porch of the throne where he judgeth -- the porch of judgment -- he hath made, and `it is' covered with cedar from the floor unto the floor.
7:8	As to his house where he dwelleth, the other court `is' within the porch -- as this work it hath been; and a house he maketh for the daughter of Pharaoh -- whom Solomon hath taken -- like this porch.
7:9	All these `are' of precious stone, according to the measures of hewn work, sawn with a saw, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and at the outside, unto the great court.
7:10	And the foundation `is' of precious stone, great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits;
7:11	and above `are' precious stone, according to the measures of hewn work, and cedar;
7:12	and the great court round about `is' three rows of hewn work, and a row of cedar-beams, even for the inner court of the house of Jehovah, and for the porch of the house.
7:13	And king Solomon sendeth and taketh Hiram out of Tyre --
7:14	he `is' son of a woman, a widow, of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father a man of Tyre, a worker in brass, and he is filled with the wisdom and the understanding, and the knowledge to do all work in brass -- and he cometh unto king Solomon, and doth all his work.
7:15	And he formeth the two pillars of brass; eighteen cubits `is' the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits doth compass the second pillar.
7:16	And two chapiters he hath made to put on the tops of the pillars, cast in brass; five cubits the height of the one chapiter, and five cubits the height of the second chapiter.
7:17	Nets of net-work, wreaths of chain-work `are' for the chapiters that `are' on the top of the pillars, seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the second chapiter.
7:18	And he maketh the pillars, and two rows round about on the one net-work, to cover the chapiters that `are' on the top, with the pomegranates, and so he hath made for the second chapiter.
7:19	And the chapiters that `are' on the top of the pillars `are' of lily-work in the porch, four cubits;
7:20	and the chapiters on the two pillars also above, over-against the protuberance that `is' beside the net; and the pomegranates `are' two hundred, in rows round about on the second chapiter.
7:21	And he raiseth up the pillars for the porch of the temple, and he raiseth up the right pillar, and calleth its name Jachin, and he raiseth up the left pillar, and calleth its name Boaz;
7:22	and on the top of the pillars `is' lily-work; and the work of the pillars `is' completed.
7:23	And he maketh the molten sea, ten by the cubit from its edge unto its edge; `it is' round all about, and five by the cubit `is' its height, and a line of thirty by the cubit doth compass it round about;
7:24	and knops beneath its brim round about are compassing it, ten by the cubit, going round the sea round about; in two rows `are' the knops, cast in its being cast.
7:25	It is standing on twelve oxen, three facing the north, and three facing the west, and three facing the south, and three facing the east, and the sea `is' upon them above, and all their hinder parts `are' inward.
7:26	And its thickness `is' an handbreadth, and its edge as the work of the edge of a cup, flowers of lilies; two thousand baths it containeth.
7:27	And he maketh the ten bases of brass; four by the cubit `is' the length of the one base, and four by the cubit its breadth, and three by the cubit its height.
7:28	And this `is' the work of the base: they have borders, and the borders `are' between the joinings;
7:29	and on the borders that `are' between the joinings `are' lions, oxen, and cherubs, and on the joinings a base above, and beneath the lions and the oxen `are' additions -- sloping work.
7:30	And four wheels of brass `are' to the one base, and axles of brass; and its four corners have shoulders -- under the laver `are' the molten shoulders, beside each addition.
7:31	And its mouth within the chapiter and above `is' by the cubit, and its mouth `is' round, the work of the base, a cubit and half a cubit; and also on its mouth `are' carvings and their borders, square, not round.
7:32	And the four wheels `are' under the borders, and the spokes of the wheels `are' in the base, and the height of the one wheel `is' a cubit and half a cubit.
7:33	And the work of the wheels `is' as the work of the wheel of a chariot, their spokes, and their axles, and their felloes, and their naves; the whole `is' molten.
7:34	And four shoulders `are' unto the four corners of the one base; out of the base `are' its shoulders.
7:35	And in the top of the base `is' the half of a cubit in the height all round about; and on the top of the base its spokes and its borders `are' of the same.
7:36	And he openeth on the tablets of its spokes, and on its borders, cherubs, lions, and palm-trees, according to the void space of each, and additions round about.
7:37	Thus he hath made the ten bases; one casting, one measure, one form, have they all.
7:38	And he maketh ten lavers of brass; forty baths doth the one laver contain, four by the cubit `is' the one laver, one laver on the one base `is' to the ten bases;
7:39	and he putteth the five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house, and the sea he hath put on the right side of the house, eastward -- over-against the south.
7:40	And Hiram maketh the lavers, and the shovels, and the bowls; and Hiram completeth to do all the work that he made for king Solomon, `for' the house of Jehovah;
7:41	pillars two, and bowls of the chapiters that `are' on the top of the pillars two, and the nets two, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that `are' on the top of the pillars;
7:42	and the pomegranates four hundred for the two nets, two rows of pomegranates for the one net, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that `are' on the front of the pillars;
7:43	and the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;
7:44	and the one sea, the twelve oxen under the sea,
7:45	and the pots, and the shovels, and the bowls; and all these vessels, that Hiram hath made to king Solomon `for' the house of Jehovah, `are' of brass -- polished.
7:46	In the circuit of the Jordan hath the king cast them, in the thick soil of the ground, between Succoth and Zarthan.
7:47	And Solomon placeth the whole of the vessels; because of the very great abundance, the weight of the brass hath not been searched out.
7:48	And Solomon maketh all the vessels that `are' in the house of Jehovah: the altar of gold, and the table -- on which `is' the bread of the Presence -- of gold,
7:49	and the candlesticks, five on the right, and five on the left, before the oracle, of refined gold, and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold,
7:50	and the basins, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and the censers, of refined gold, and the hinges for the doors of the inner-house, for the holy of holies, for the doors of the house of the temple, of gold.
7:51	And it is complete -- all the work that king Solomon hath made `for' the house of Jehovah, and Solomon bringeth in the sanctified things of David his father; the silver, and the gold, and the vessels he hath put in the treasuries of the house of Jehovah.
