| 8:1 | Then Solomon assembled the Elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chiefe of the fathers of the children of Israel, vnto king Solomon in Ierusalem, that they might bring vp the Arke of the Couenant of the Lord, out of the citie of Dauid, which is Zion. |
| 8:2 | And all the men of Israel assembled themselues vnto king Solomon, at the feast, in the moneth Ethanim, which is the seuenth moneth. |
| 8:3 | And all the Elders of Israel came, and the Priests tooke vp the Arke. |
| 8:4 | And they brought vp the Arke of the Lord, and the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tabernacle, euen those did the Priests & the Leuites bring vp. |
| 8:5 | And king Solomon, and all the Congregation of Israel, that were assembled vnto him, were with him before the Arke, sacrificing sheepe, and oxen, that could not bee told nor numbred for multitude. |
| 8:6 | And the Priests brought in the Arke of the Couenant of the Lord vnto his place, into the Oracle of the house to the most holy place, euen vnder the wings of the Cherubims. |
| 8:7 | For the Cherubims spread forth their two wings ouer the place of the Arke, and the Cherubims couered the Arke, and the staues thereof aboue. |
| 8:8 | And they drew out the staues, that the ends of the staues were seene out in the Holy place before the Oracle, and they were not seene without: and there they are vnto this day. |
| 8:9 | There was nothing in the Arke, saue the two Tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a Couenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. |
| 8:10 | And it came to passe when the Priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord; |
| 8:11 | So that the Priests could not stand to minister, because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord. |
| 8:12 | Then spake Solomon; The Lord said that hee would dwell in the thicke darkenesse. |
| 8:13 | I haue surely built thee an house to dwel in, a setled place for thee to abide in for euer. |
| 8:14 | And the King turned his face about, and blessed all the Congregation of Israel: (and all the Congregation of Israel stood.) |
| 8:15 | And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which spake with his mouth vnto Dauid my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying; |
| 8:16 | Since the day that I brought foorth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no citie out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house that my Name might be therein; but I chose Dauid to be ouer my people Israel. |
| 8:17 | And it was in the heart of Dauid my father, to builde an house for the Name of the Lord God of Israel. |
| 8:18 | And the Lord sayd vnto Dauid my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house vnto my Name, thou diddest well that it was in thine heart. |
| 8:19 | Neuerthelesse, thou shalt not build the house, but thy sonne that shall come foorth out of thy loynes, hee shall build the house vnto my Name. |
| 8:20 | And the Lord hath perfourmed his word that he spake, and I am risen vp in the roume of Dauid my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and haue built an House for the Name of the Lord God of Israel. |
| 8:21 | And I haue set there a place for the Arke, wherein is the Couenant of the Lord, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. |
| 8:22 | And Solomon stood before the Altar of the Lord, in the presence of all the Congregation of Israel, and spread foorth his handes toward heauen: |
| 8:23 | And hee said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heauen aboue, or on earth beneath, who keepest couenant and mercy with thy seruants, that walke before thee with all their heart: |
| 8:24 | Who hast kept with thy seruant Dauid my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day. |
| 8:25 | Therefore now Lord God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou promisedst him, saying; There shall not faile thee a man in my sight to sit on the Throne of Israel; so that thy children take heede to their way, that they walke before me as thou hast walked before me: |
| 8:26 | And now, O God of Israel, let thy worde (I pray thee) bee verified, which thou spakest vnto thy seruant Dauid my father. |
| 8:27 | But will God indeede dwell on the earth? Behold, the heauen, and heauen of heauens cannot conteine thee: how much lesse this House that I haue builded? |
| 8:28 | Yet haue thou respect vnto the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken vnto the crie and to the prayer, which thy seruant prayeth before thee to day: |
| 8:29 | That thine eyes may be open toward this house, night and day, euen toward the place of which thou hast said, My Name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken vnto the prayer which thy seruant shall make towards this place. |
| 8:30 | And hearken thou to the supplication of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray towards this place: and heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and when thou hearest, forgiue. |
| 8:31 | If any man trespasse against his neighbour, and an oath be laid vpon him to cause him to sweare, and the oath come before thine Altar in this house: |
| 8:32 | Then heare thou in heauen, and doe, and iudge thy seruants, condemning the wicked to bring his way vpon his head, and iustifying the righteous, to giue him according to his righteousnesse. |
| 8:33 | When thy people Israel bee smitten downe before the enemie, because they haue sinned against thee, and shall turne againe to thee, and confesse thy Name, and pray, and make supplication vnto thee in this house: |
| 8:34 | Then heare thou in heauen, and forgiue the sinne of thy people Israel, and bring them againe vnto the land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers. |
| 8:35 | When heauen is shut vp, and there is no raine, because they haue sinned against thee: if they pray towards this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou afflictest them: |
| 8:36 | Then heare thou in heauen, and forgiue the sinne of thy seruants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walke, and giue raine vpon thy land which thou hast giuen to thy people for an inheritance. |
| 8:37 | If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller: if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities, whatsoeuer plague, whatsoeuer sicknes there be; |
| 8:38 | What prayer and supplication soeuer be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know euery man the plague of his owne heart, and spread forth his handes towards this house: |
| 8:39 | Then heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and forgiue, and do, and giue to euery man according to his wayes, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, euen thou onely knowest the hearts of all the children of men,) |
| 8:40 | That they may feare thee all the dayes that they liue, in the land which thou gauest vnto our fathers. |
| 8:41 | Moreouer, concerning a stranger that is not of thy people Israel, but commeth out of a farre countrey, for thy Names sake; |
| 8:42 | (For they shall heare of thy great Name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arme) when hee shall come and pray towards this house: |
| 8:43 | Heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and doe according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy Name, to feare thee, as doe thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I haue builded, is called by thy Name. |
| 8:44 | If thy people goe out to battell against their enemie, whithersoeuer thou shalt send them, and shall pray vnto the Lord toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I haue built for thy Name: |
| 8:45 | Then heare thou in heauen their prayer & their supplication, and mainteine their cause. |
| 8:46 | If they sinne against thee, ( for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliuer them to the enemy, so that they cary them away captiues, vnto the land of the enemy, farre or neere; |
| 8:47 | Yet if they shall bethinke themselues, in the land whither they were caried captiues, and repent, and make supplication vnto thee in the land of them that caried them captiues, saying, Wee haue sinned, and haue done peruersly, we haue committed wickednes; |
| 8:48 | And so returne vnto thee with all their heart, and with all their soule, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captiue, and pray vnto thee toward their land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I haue built for thy Name: |
| 8:49 | Then heare thou their prayer and their supplication in heauen thy dwelling place, and mainteine their cause, |
| 8:50 | And forgiue thy people that haue sinned against thee, and all their transgressions, wherein they haue transgressed against thee, and giue them compassion before them who caried them captiue, that they may haue compassion on them: |
| 8:51 | For they bee thy people and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest foorth out of Egypt, from the mids of the furnace of iron: |
| 8:52 | That thine eyes may be open vnto the supplication of thy seruant, and vnto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken vnto them in all that they call for vnto thee. |
| 8:53 | For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy seruant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God. |
| 8:54 | And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication vnto the Lord, he arose from before the Altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees, with his handes spread vp to heauen. |
| 8:55 | And he stood, and blessed all the Congregation of Israel, with a lowd voice, saying; |
| 8:56 | Blessed be the Lord, that hath giuen rest vnto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his seruant. |
| 8:57 | The Lord our God be with vs, as he was with our fathers: let him not leaue vs, nor forsake vs: |
| 8:58 | That hee may encline our hearts vnto him, to walke in all his wayes, and to keepe his Commaundements, and his Statutes, and his Iudgements which hee commaunded our fathers. |
| 8:59 | And let these my wordes wherewith I haue made supplication before the Lord, be nigh vnto the Lord our God, day and night, that hee maintaine the cause of his seruant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require: |
| 8:60 | That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God: and that there is none else. |
| 8:61 | Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord your God, to walke in his Statutes, and to keepe his Commandements, as at this day. |
| 8:62 | And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the Lord. |
| 8:63 | And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered vnto the Lord, two and twentie thousand oxen, and an hundred and twentie thousand sheepe: so the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord. |
| 8:64 | The same day did the king hallow the middle of the Court that was before the house of the Lord: for there hee offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen Altar that was before the Lord, was too little to receiue the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings. |
| 8:65 | And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great Congregation, from the entring in of Hamath, vnto the riuer of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seuen dayes and seuen dayes, euen fourteene dayes. |
| 8:66 | On the eight day he sent the people away: and they blessed the King, and went vnto their tents ioyfull, and glad of heart, for all the goodnesse that the Lord had done for Dauid his seruant, and for Israel his people. |

| 8:8 | And they drewe out the barres, that the endes of the barres might appeare out of the Sanctuarie before the oracle, but they were not seene without: and there they are vnto this day. |
| 8:9 | Nothing was in the Arke saue the two tables of stone which Moses had put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a couenant with the children of Israel, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. |

| 8:22 | Then Salomon stoode before the altar of the Lord in the sight of all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his handes towarde heauen, |
| 8:23 | And sayd, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in heauen aboue, or in the earth beneath, thou that keepest couenant and mercie with thy seruants that walke before thee with all their heart, |
| 8:24 | Thou that hast kept with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him: for thou spakest with thy mouth and hast fulfilled it with thine hande, as appeareth this day. |
| 8:25 | Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father that thou hast promised him, saying, Thou shalt not want a man in my sight to sit vpon ye throne of Israel: so that thy childre take heed to their way, that they walke before me; as thou hast walked in my sight |
| 8:26 | And nowe, O God of Israel, I pray thee, let thy worde be verified, which thou spakest vnto thy seruant Dauid my father. |
| 8:27 | Is it true in deede that God will dwell on the earth? beholde, the heauens, and the heauens of heauens are not able to conteine thee: howe much more vnable is this house that I haue built? |
| 8:28 | But haue thou respect vnto the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord, my God, to heare the cry and prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee this day: |
| 8:29 | That thine eyes may be open toward this house, night and day, euen towarde the place whereof thou hast said, My Name shalbe there: that thou mayest hearken vnto the prayer which thy seruant prayeth in this place. |
| 8:30 | Heare thou therefore the supplication of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, which pray in this place, and heare thou in the place of thine habitation, euen in heauen, and when thou hearest, haue mercie. |

| 8:35 | When heauen shalbe shut vp, and there shalbe no raine because they haue sinned against thee, and shall pray in this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them, |
| 8:36 | Then heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught the the good way wherein they may walke) and giue raine vpon the land that thou hast giuen to thy people to inherite. |
| 8:37 | When there shalbe famine in the land, when there shalbe pestilence, when there shall be blasting, mildewe, grashopper or caterpiller, when their enemie shall besiege them in the cities of their lande, or any plague, or any sickenesse, |
| 8:38 | Then what prayer, and supplication so euer shalbe made of any man or of all thy people Israel, when euery one shall knowe the plague in his owne heart, and stretch foorth his handes in this house, |
| 8:39 | Heare thou then in heauen, in thy dwelling place, and be mercifull, and doe, and giue euery man according to all his wayes, as thou knowest his heart, (for thou only knowest the heartes of all the children of men) |
| 8:40 | That they may feare thee as long as they liue in ye lad, which thou gauest vnto our fathers. |
| 8:41 | Moreouer as touching the stranger that is not of thy people Israel, who shall come out of a farre countrey for thy Names sake, |
| 8:42 | (When they shall heare of thy great name, and of thy mightie hande, and of thy stretched out arme) and shall come and pray in this house, |
| 8:43 | Heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth for vnto thee: that all the people of the earth may know thy Name, and feare thee, as do thy people Israel: and that they may know, that thy Name is called vpon in this house which I haue built. |

| 8:47 | Yet if they turne againe vnto their heart in the lande (to the which they be caryed away captiues) and returne and pray vnto thee in the lande of them that caryed them away captiues, saying, We haue sinned, we haue transgressed, and done wickedly, |
| 8:48 | If they turne againe vnto thee with all their heart, and with all their soule in the lande of their enemies, which led them away captiues, and pray vnto thee toward the way of their land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers, and toward the citie which thou hast chosen, and the house, which I haue built for thy Name, |
| 8:49 | Then heare thou their prayer and their supplication in heauen thy dwelling place, and iudge their cause, |
| 8:50 | And be mercifull vnto thy people that haue sinned against thee, and vnto all their iniquities (wherein they haue transgressed against thee) and cause that they, which led them away captiues, may haue pitie and compassion on them: |
| 8:51 | For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out of Egypt from the middes of the yron fornace. |
| 8:52 | Let thine eyes be open vnto the prayer of thy seruant, and vnto the prayer of thy people Israel, to hearken vnto them, in all that they call for vnto thee. |
| 8:53 | For thou diddest separate them to thee from among all people of the earth for an inheritance, as thou saidest by the hand of Moses thy seruant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God. |
| 8:54 | And when Salomon had made an ende of praying all this prayer and supplication vnto the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees, and stretching of his handes to heauen, |
| 8:55 | And stoode and blessed all the Congregation of Israel with a loud voyce, saying, |
| 8:56 | Blessed be the Lord that hath giuen rest vnto his people Israel, according to all that hee promised: there hath not fayled one word of all his good promise which he promised by the hand of Moses his seruant. |
| 8:57 | The Lord our God be with vs, as he was with our fathers, that he forsake vs not, neither leaue vs, |
| 8:58 | That he may bow our heartes vnto him, that we may walke in all his waies, and keepe his commandements, and his statutes, and his lawes, which he commanded our fathers. |
| 8:59 | And these my wordes, which I haue prayed before the Lord, be neere vnto the Lord our God day and night, that he defende the cause of his seruant, and the cause of his people Israel alway as the matter requireth, |
| 8:60 | That all the people of ye earth may knowe, that the Lord is God, and none other. |
| 8:61 | Let your heart therefore be perfit with the Lord our God to walke in his statutes, and to keepe his commandements, as this day. |
| 8:62 | Then the King and all Israel with him offred sacrifice before the Lord. |
| 8:63 | And Salomon offered a sacrifice of peace offrings which he offered vnto the Lord, to wit, two and twentie thousande beeues, and an hundreth and twentie thousande sheepe: so the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord. |
| 8:64 | The same day did the King halowe the middle of the court, that was before the house of the Lord: for there he made burnt offerings, and the meate offrings, and the fat of the peace offeringes, because the brasen altar that was before the Lord, was too litle to receiue the burnt offerings, and the meate offerings, and the fat of the peace offrings. |
| 8:65 | And Salomon made at that time a feast and all Israel with him, a very great Congregation, euen from the entring in of Hamath vnto the riuer of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seuen dayes and seuen dayes, euen fourteene dayes. |
| 8:66 | And the eight day he sent the people away: and they thanked the King and went vnto their tentes ioyous and with glad heart, because of al the goodnesse that the Lord had done for Dauid his seruant, and for Israel his people. |

| 8:2 | And all the men of Israel assembled vnto kynge Salomon to the festae that falleth in the monethe Ethanim, which is the seuenth moneth. |
| 8:3 | And all the elders of Israel were come and the preastes toke vp the arck. |
| 8:4 | They bare the arck of the Lord into the tabernacle of witnes, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle: those dyd the prestes and the Leuites beare. |
| 8:5 | And kyng Salomon and all the congregacion of Israel that were assembled vnto hym, and went wyth hym before the arcke, dyd offer shepe and oxen, that coulde not be tolde nor nombred for multitude. |
| 8:6 | And so the prestes brought the arcke of the appoyntement of the Lorde vnto his place: euen into the queer of the temple & place most holy, vnder the winges of the cherubs. |
| 8:7 | For the cherubs stretched out their winges ouer the place of the arck, & couered both it & also the staues therof a hie vpon it. |
| 8:8 | And they drewe out the staues, that the endes of them myght appeare out of the holy place within the queer: but they were not sene wt out. And there they haue bene vnto this daye: |
| 8:9 | and ther was nothyng in the arcke, saue the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, in the which tables the Lord made an apoyntement with the chyldren of Israel, when he brought them out of the lande of Egypt. |
| 8:10 | And it fortuned that when the prestes were come out of the holy place, the cloude fylled the house of the Lorde, |
| 8:11 | that the preastes coulde not stande and minister, because of the cloude: for the glory of the Lord had fylled the house of the Lorde. |
| 8:12 | Then spake Salomon: the Lorde sayde: that he wolde dwell in the darck cloude. |
| 8:13 | I haue built the an house to dwell in an habitacion for the, to abyde in for euer. |
| 8:14 | And the kyng turned his face, and blessed all the congregacyon of Israel: and all the congregacion of Israel stode styll. |
| 8:15 | And he sayd: Blessed be the Lorde God of Israel, which spake wt hys mouth vnto Dauid my father, and hath wt his hande fulfylled it, saying: |
| 8:16 | Sens the daye that I brought my people Israel out of Egipt, I chose no cytie of all the trybes of Israel, to buylde an house, that my name myght be therin. But I haue chosen Dauid to be ruler ouer my people Israel. |
| 8:17 | And it was in the herte of Dauid my father to builde an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. |

| 8:19 | Neuerthelesse thou shalt not buylde the house, but thy sonne that shall come out of thyne loynes, he shall buyld the house vnto my name. |
| 8:20 | And the Lord hath made good his worde that he spake. And I am rysen vp in the rowme of Dauid my father, and sytt on the seate of Israel as the Lorde promised and haue buylt an house for the name of the Lorde God of Israel. |
| 8:21 | And I haue prepared therin a place for the arcke wherin is the couenaunt of the Lorde, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the lande of Egypte, |
| 8:22 | Salomon stode before the aultare of the Lorde in the syght of all the congregacyon of Israel, and stretched out hys handes towarde heauen, |
| 8:23 | and sayde: Lorde God of Israel, ther is no God like the in heauen aboue, or in the earth beneth, thou that kepest couenaunt and mercy for thy seruauntes that walke before the with all their hert: |
| 8:24 | thou that hast kept with thy seruaunt Dauid my father, that thou promysedest hym. Thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it wt thyne hande, as it is come to passe this daye. |
| 8:25 | Therfore nowe Lorde God of Israel kepe with thy seruaunt Dauid my father that thou promysedest hym, saying: thou shalt not be without a man in my syght to syt in the seate of Israel: so that thy children take hede to their waye, that they walke before me as thou hast walked in my syght. |
| 8:26 | And nowe, O God of Israel, let thy worde be verifyed, which thou spakest vnto thy seruaunt Dauid my father. |
| 8:27 | Will God in dede dwell on the erth? Beholde the heauens, and heauens of all heauens are not able to conteyne the. And howe shulde than this house do it, that I haue builded? |
| 8:28 | Haue thou therfore respect vnto the prayer of thy seruaunt, and to hys supplicacyon, O Lorde my God, to heare the voyce and prayer before the this daye: |
| 8:29 | that thyne eyes maye be open towarde this house, night and daye, euen toward this place, of which thou hast sayde: My name shal be there. That thou mayest herken vnto the prayer which thy seruaunt praieth in this place. |
| 8:30 | And regarde thou, the supplicacion of thy seruaunt & of thy people Israel, when they praye in this place. And heare thou in heauen thy dwellynge place, & when thou hearest, haue mercy. |
| 8:31 | Yf any man trespace against his neyghbour, and there go an oth betwene them, and the one compelled the other, and come swearyng before thyne aulter in this house, |
| 8:32 | then herken thou in heauen, and worke and iudge thy seruauntes, that thou condempne the vngodly to bryng hys waye vpon his head, and iustifye the righteous to geue hym accordyng to hys ryghteousnesse. |
| 8:33 | When thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemye, because they haue synned agaynst the: and afterwarde turne agayne to the, and knowledge vnto thy name, and praye and make intercession vnto the in thys house: |
| 8:34 | then heare thou in heauen, to be mercyfull vnto the synne of the people Israel, & brynge them agayne into the lande, which thou gauest vnto their fathers. |
| 8:35 | If heauen be shut vp, & there be no rayne because they haue synned agaynst the: yet yf they praye in thys place, & knowledge vnto thy name, & turne from their synne, thorow thy scourgynge of them: |
| 8:36 | then heare thou in heauen, and be mercyfull of thy seruauntes and of thy people Israel, that thou shewe them a good waye to walke in, and geue rayne vpon thy londe that thou hast geuen vnto thy people to enheret. |
| 8:37 | If there be in the lande derth, or pestilence, drouth, blastynge, greshopper or caterpiller, or yf theyr enemye besege them in the lande of theyr cyties, or whatsoeuer plage or sycknesse chaunce: |
| 8:38 | then what prayers & supplicacyon soeuer be made of any man of all thy people Israel, which shall knowledge euery man the plage of his awne hert, and stretche forth hys handes to warde thys house: |
| 8:39 | heare thou then in heauen, euen in thy dwellynge place, and be mercyfull, and worke, and geue euery man accordinge to all hys wayes (euen as thou that only knowest his hert, for thou onely knowest the hertes of all the chyldren of men:) |
| 8:40 | that they maye feare the as longe as they lyue in the lande, which thou gauest vnto oure fathers. |
| 8:41 | And lykewyse, yf a straunger that is not of thy people Israel come out of a farre contrey for thy names sake, |
| 8:42 | for they shall heare of thy greate name, & of thy myghtie hande and of thy stretched out arme & shall come and praye in thys house. |
| 8:43 | Therfore, heare thou in heauen thy dwellynge place, and do all that the straunger calleth to the for: that all nacions of the erth maye knowe thy name and feare the, as do thy people Israel: and that they maye knowe that thy name is called vpon in thys house whych I haue buylte. |
| 8:44 | Yf thy people go out to batell agaynst their enemye, whether soeuer thou shalt sende them and shal praye vnto the, (O Lord) to warde the waye of the cytie whyche thou hast chosen, and towarde the house that I haue buylte for thy name: |
| 8:45 | heare thou in heauen theyr prayer and supplicacion, and iudge their cause. |
| 8:46 | Yf they synne aganst the (for there is no man that synneth not) and thou be angrie with them, and delyuer them into the hande of theyr enemyes: so that they carye them awaye prysoners vnto the lande of theyr enemyes, whether farre or neare, |
| 8:47 | yet yf they turne agayne vnto theyr hertes in the lande (to the whych they be caryed awaye captyue,) and returne and praye vnto the in the lande of theyr enemyes, saying: we haue synned, we haue done wyckedlye, and haue committed vngodlynesse, |
| 8:48 | and so turne agayne vnto the with all theyr herte, and all theyr soule in the lande of their enemies, which led them awaye captyue, and praye vnto the toward the waye of theyr lande, whych thou gauest vnto theyr fathers, and towarde the cytie, which thou hast chosen, & towarde the house which I haue buylt for thy name: |
| 8:49 | then heare thou theyr prayer and supplicacyon in heauen thy dwellynge place, & iudge theyr cause: |
| 8:50 | and be mercyfull vnto thy people, that haue synned agaynst the, and vnto all theyr iniquyties, wherby they haue done wyckedly agaynst the, and get thou them the fauoure of those which led them awaye captyue, that they maye haue compassyon on them. |

| 8:56 | Blessed be the Lorde, that hath geuen reste vnto hys people Israel, accordyng to all that he promised, there hath not fayled one word of all the good promyse, whych he promysed by the hande of Moses hys seruaunt. |
| 8:57 | The Lorde oure God be with vs, as he was with oure fathers, and forsake vs not, |

| 8:61 | Let youre herte therfore be perfecte with the Lord oure God, that ye walke in hys statutes, and kepe hys commaundementes, as thys daye. |

| 8:63 | And Salomon offered a sacrifyce of peace offeringes vnto the Lorde, and he offered vnto the Lorde .xxii. thousande oxen and an hundred & twenty thousande shepe. And so the kynge & all the chyldren of Israel dedicated the house of the Lorde. |
| 8:64 | The same daye dyd the kynge halowe the myddel of the courte, that was before the house of the Lorde: for there he offered burnt offerynges, meate offerynges and the fat of the peace offeringes: because the brasen aultare that was before the Lord, was to lytle to receaue the burnt offeringes, meate offerynges, and the fatt of the peace offerynges. |
| 8:65 | And Salomon helde that same tyme an hye feast & all Israel with hym, a very great congregacyon, euen from the entrynge in of Hemath vnto the ryuer of Egypt, before the Lorde oure God, seuen dayes & seuen dayes euen .xiiii. dayes. |
| 8:66 | And the eyght daye he sent the people awaye. And they blessed the kyng and went vnto theyr tentes ioyous and with glad herte, because of all the goodnesse that the Lorde had done for Dauid his seruaunt, and for Israel hys people. |
