| 14:1 | At that time Abiiah the sonne of Ieroboam fell sicke. |
| 14:2 | And Ieroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thy selfe, that thou be not knowen to be the wife of Ieroboam: and get thee to Shiloh: Behold, there is Ahiiah the Prophet, which told mee that I should be king ouer this people. |
| 14:3 | And take with thee ten loaues, and cracknels, and a cruse of honie, and goe to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the childe. |
| 14:4 | And Ieroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahiiah: but Ahiiah could not see, for his eyes were set by reason of his age. |
| 14:5 | And the Lord said vnto Ahiiah, Behold, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for hee is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for it shall be when shee commeth in, that shee shall faine her selfe to be another woman. |
| 14:6 | And it was so, when Ahiiah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the doore, that hee said, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam, why fainest thou thy selfe to be another? for I am sent to thee with heauie tidings. |
| 14:7 | Goe, tell Ieroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince ouer my people Israel, |
| 14:8 | And rent the kingdome away from the house of Dauid, and gaue it thee: and yet thou hast not beene as my seruant Dauid, who kept my Commandements, and who followed mee with all his heart, to doe that onely which was right in mine eyes, |
| 14:9 | But hast done euill aboue all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to prouoke me to anger, and hast cast me behinde thy backe: |
| 14:10 | Therefore behold, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam, him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut vp and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone. |
| 14:11 | Him that dieth of Ieroboam in the citie, shall the dogs eate: and him that dieth in the field, shall the foules of the aire eate: for the Lord hath spoken it. |
| 14:12 | Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine owne house: and when thy feete enter into the citie, the child shall die. |
| 14:13 | And all Israel shall mourne for him, and bury him: for he onely of Ieroboam shal come to the graue, because in him there is found some good thing toward the Lord God of Israel, in the house of Ieroboam. |
| 14:14 | Moreouer, the Lord shall raise him vp a king ouer Israel, who shal cut off the house of Ieroboam that day: but what? euen now. |
| 14:15 | For the Lord shall smite Israel, as a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall root vp Israel out of this good land, which hee gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made their groues, prouoking the Lord to anger. |
| 14:16 | And hee shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, & who made Israel to sinne. |
| 14:17 | And Ieroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when shee came to the threshold of the doore, the child died. |
| 14:18 | And they buried him, and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the Lord, which hee spake by the hand of his seruant Ahiiah the Prophet. |
| 14:19 | And the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, how hee warred, and how hee reigned, behold, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel. |
| 14:20 | And the dayes which Ieroboam reigned, were two and twentie yeeres: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his sonne reigned in his stead. |
| 14:21 | And Rehoboam the sonne of Solomon reigned in Iudah: Rehoboam was fourtie and one yeeres olde when he began to reigne, and hee reigned seuenteene yeeres in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord did chuse out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his Name there: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse. |
| 14:22 | And Iudah did euill in the sight of the Lord, and they prouoked him to iealousie with their sinnes which they had committed, aboue all that their fathers had done. |
| 14:23 | For they also built them high places, and images, and groues on euery high hill, and vnder euery greene tree. |
| 14:24 | And there were also Sodomites in the land, and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel. |
| 14:25 | And it came to passe in the fift yeere of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem: |
| 14:26 | And he tooke away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, hee euen tooke away all: and he tooke away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made. |
| 14:27 | And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them vnto the hands of the chiefe of the guard, which kept the doore of the kings house. |
| 14:28 | And it was so, when the king went into the house of the Lord, that the guard bare them, and brought them backe into the guard-chamber. |
| 14:29 | Nowe the rest of the actes of Rehoboam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Iudah? |
| 14:30 | And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam all their dayes. |
| 14:31 | And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of Dauid: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse. And Abijam his sonne reigned in his stead. |

| 14:5 | Then the Lord saide vnto Ahiiah, Beholde, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for he is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for when shee commeth in, shee shall feine her selfe to be another. |
| 14:6 | Therefore when Ahiiah heard the sounde of her feete as shee came in at the doore, hee saide, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam: why feinest thou thus thy selfe to bee an other? I am sent to thee with heauie tidings. |

| 14:10 | Therefore beholde, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam him that pisseth against the wall, aswell him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel, and will sweepe away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man sweepeth away doung, till it be all gone. |
| 14:11 | The dogges shall eate him of Ieroboams stocke that dyeth in the citie, and the foules of the aire shall eate him that dyeth in the fielde: for the Lord hath said it. |
| 14:12 | Vp therefore and get thee to thine house: for when thy feete enter into the citie, the childe shall die. |
| 14:13 | And al Israel shall mourne for him, and burie him: for he onely of Ieroboam shall come to the graue, because in him there is found some goodnes towarde the Lord God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam. |
| 14:14 | Moreouer, the Lord shall stirre him vp a King ouer Israel, which shall destroy the house of Ieroboam in that day: what? yea, euen nowe. |
| 14:15 | For the Lord shall smite Israel, as when a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall weede Israel out of his good lad, which he gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made them groues, prouoking the Lord to anger. |

| 14:5 | And the Lorde sayde vnto Ahia: beholde, the wyfe of Ieroboam cometh, to aske a thinge of the for her sonne, for he is sycke. But thus shalt thou saye vnto her. And when she came in, she feyned her selfe to be a nother woman. |
| 14:6 | But when Ahia hearde the sounde of her fete as she came in at the dore, he sayde: come in thou wyfe of Ieroboam, why feynest thou thy selfe so, to be another? I am sent to the to shewe the heuy thinges. |
| 14:7 | Go, tell Ieroboam, thus sayth the Lorde God of Israel. It repenteth me for as moche as I exalted the from amonge the people, and made the prynce ouer my people Israel. |
| 14:8 | I dyd rent the kyngdome awaye from the house of Dauid and gaue it the: Neuertheles, thou hast not bene as my seruaunt Dauid, which kepte my commaundementes, and folowed me wyth all hys herte, to do that whych is ryght in myne eyes: |
| 14:9 | but hast done euyll, aboue all that were before the: for thou hast gone, and made the other goddes, and molten ymages, to prouoke me, and hast cast me behynde thy backe: therfore beholde, |
| 14:10 | I wyll brynge euell vpon the house of Ieroboam, and wyll rote out from Ieroboam euen hym that pysseth agaynste the wall and hym that is in preson and forsaken in Israel, and wyll take awaye the remnaunt of the house of Ieroboam, as a man taketh awaye donge, tyll he hath caryed out all. |
| 14:11 | Whosoeuer (of Ieroboams house) dye in the towne, hym shall the dogges eate: & he that dieth in the felde, shall the fowles of the ayre eate: for the Lorde hath sayde it. |
| 14:12 | Up therfore and gett the to thyne house. Beholde, whan thy fote entereth into the cytie, the chylde shall dye. |
| 14:13 | And all they of Israel shall mourne for him, and burye him: for he onely of Ieroboam, shall come to the sepulchre, because in hym there is founde goodnesse towarde the Lorde God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam. |
| 14:14 | Moreouer, the Lorde shall stere hym vp a kynge ouer Israel, which shall destroye the house of Ieroboam in that daye. But what is it now? |
| 14:15 | For the Lorde shall smyte Israell, as whan a rede is shaken in the water and he shall wede Israel out of thys good lande (which he gaue to theyr fathers,) and shall skatter them beyonde the ryuer, because they haue made them Idoles groues, and angred the Lorde. |
| 14:16 | And he shall geue Israel vp, becuase of the synnes of Ieroboam, which dyd synne, and made Israel to synne. |
| 14:17 | And Ieroboams wyfe arose, and departed, and came to Thirzah, and whan she came to the thresholde of the dore, the chylde was deed. |
| 14:18 | And all Israel buryed hym, and lamented him, accordynge to the worde of the Lorde which he spake by the hande of hys seruaunt Ahia the Prophete. |
| 14:19 | And the rest of the wordes that concerne Ieroboam, howe he warred, and howe he raygned. Beholde they are wrytten in the boke of the Cronicles of the kynges of Israel. |
| 14:20 | And the dayes which Ieroboam raygned, were .xxii. yere. And whan he was layed aslepe with hys fathers, Nadab his sonne raygned in his steade. |
| 14:21 | Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon raygned in Iuda, and Rehoboam was .xli. yere olde when he beganne to raygne, and he raygned .xvij. yere in Ierusalem (the cytie which the Lorde dyd chose out of all the trybes of Israel, to put his name there.) His mothers name was Naama an Ammonite. |
| 14:22 | And Iuda wrought wickednesse in the syght of the Lorde, and angred him in moo thinges then their fathers dyd, in their synnes, which they synned. |

| 14:27 | In whose steade kynge Rehoboam made brasen shyldes, and committed them vnto the handes of the kepynge of the captaines of the garde, which wayted at the dore of the kynges house. |
