1 Kings - Chapter: 15

>
15:1Nowe in the eighteenth yeere of king Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, reigned Abiiam ouer Iudah.
15:2Three yeeres reigned hee in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
15:3And he walked in all the sinnes of his father, which hee had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as the heart of Dauid his father.
15:4Neuerthelesse, for Dauids sake did the Lord his God giue him a lampe in Ierusalem, to set vp his sonne after him, and to establish Ierusalem:
15:5Because Dauid did that which was right in the eies of the Lord, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the daies of his life, saue onely in the matter of Uriiah the Hittite.
15:6And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam all the dayes of his life.
15:7Now the rest of the actes of Abiiam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? And there was warre betweene Abiiam and Ieroboam.
15:8And Abiiam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Dauid: and Asa his sonne reigned in his stead.
15:9And in the twentieth yeere of Ieroboam king of Israel, reigned Asa ouer Iudah.
15:10And forty and one yeeres reigned hee in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
15:11And Asa did that which was right in the eies of the Lord, as did Dauid his father.
15:12And hee tooke away the Sodomites out of the land, and remooued all the idoles that his fathers had made.
15:13And also Maachah his mother, euen her hee remoued from being Queene, because she had made an idole in a groue, and Asa destroyed her idole, and burnt it by the brooke Kidron.
15:14But the high places were not remooued: neuerthelesse, Asa his heart was perfect with the Lord all his dayes.
15:15And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himselfe had dedicated, into the house of the Lord, siluer, and gold, and vessels.
15:16And there was war betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel all their dayes.
15:17And Baasha king of Israel went vp against Iudah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to goe out or come in to Asa king of Iudah.
15:18Then Asa tooke all the siluer and the golde that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, and deliuered them into the hand of his seruants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad the sonne of Tabrimon, the sonne of Hezion king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
15:19There is a league betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent vnto thee a present of siluer and gold; come and breake the league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
15:20So Benhadad hearkened vnto king Asa, and sent the captaines of the hosts, which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote Iion, and Dan, and Abel-Bethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
15:21And it came to passe when Baasha heard thereof, that hee left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
15:22Then king Asa made a Proclamation throughout all Iudah, (none was exempted:) and they tooke away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof wherewith Baasha had builded, and king Asa built with them Geba of Beniamin, and Mizpah.
15:23The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which hee built, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? Neuerthelesse in the time of his old age, hee was diseased in his feete.
15:24And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the citie of Dauid his father: and Iehoshaphat his sonne reigned in his stead.
15:25And Nadab the sonne of Ieroboam began to reigne ouer Israel, in the second yeere of Asa king of Iudah, and reigned ouer Israel two yeeres.
15:26And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sinne wherewith hee made Israel to sinne.
15:27And Baasha the sonne of Ahiiah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him, and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belongeth to the Philistines, (for Nadab and all Israel layd siege to Gibbethon,)
15:28Euen in the third yeere of Asa king of Iudah, did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.
15:29And it came to passe when hee raigned, that he smote all the house Ieroboam, hee left not to Ieroboam any that breathed, vntill hee had destroyed him, according vnto the saying of the Lord, which hee spake by his seruant Ahiiah the Shilonite:
15:30Because of the sinnes of Ieroboam which he sinned, and which hee made Israel sinne, by his prouocation wherewith he prouoked the Lord God of Israel to anger.
15:31Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
15:32And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha king of Israel al their dayes.
15:33In the third yeere of Asa King of Iudah, began Baasha the sonne of Ahiiah to reigne ouer all Israel in Tirzah, twentie and foure yeeres.
15:34And hee did euill in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Ieroboam, and in his sinne wherewith he made Israel to sinne.

15:1And in the eighteenth yeere of King Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, reigned Abiiam ouer Iudah.
15:2Three yeere reigned hee in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.
15:3And hee walked in all the sinnes of his father, which hee had done before him: and his heart was not perfit with the Lord his God as the heart of Dauid his father.
15:4But for Dauids sake did the Lord his God giue him a light in Ierusalem, and set vp his sonne after him, and established Ierusalem,
15:5Because Dauid did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and turned from nothing that he commanded him, all the dayes of his life, saue onely in the matter of Vriah the Hittite.
15:6And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam as long as he liued.
15:7The rest also of the actes of Abiiam, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? there was also warre betweene Abiiam, and Ieroboam.
15:8And Abiiam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Dauid: and Asa his sonne reigned in his steade.
15:9And in the twentie yeere of Ieroboam King of Israel reigned Asa ouer Iudah.
15:10He reigned in Ierusalem one and fourtie yeere, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.
15:11And Asa did right in the eyes of the Lord, as did Dauid his father.
15:12And he tooke away the Sodomites out of the lande, and put away all the idoles that his fathers had made.
15:13And he put downe Maachah his mother also from her estate, because shee had made an idole in a groue: and Asa destroyed her idoles, and burnt them by the brooke Kidron.
15:14But they put not downe the hie places. Neuertheles Asas heart was vpright with the Lord all his dayes.
15:15Also he brought in the holy vessels of his father, and the things that he had dedicated vnto ye house of the Lord, siluer, and golde, and vessels.
15:16And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel all their dayes.
15:17Then Baasha king of Israel went vp against Iudah, and buylt Ramah, so that he woulde let none go out or in to Asa King of Iudah.
15:18Then Asa tooke all the siluer and the gold that was left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, and deliuered them into the handes of his seruantes, and King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the sonne of Tabrimon, the sonne of Hezion king of Aram that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
15:19There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent vnto thee a present of siluer and golde: come, breake thy couenant with Baasha King of Israel, that he may depart from me.
15:20So Ben-hadad hearkened vnto King Asa, and sent the captaines of the hosts, which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote lion, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
15:21And when Baasha heard thereof, hee left buylding of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
15:22Then king Asa assembled al Iudah, none excepted. and they tooke the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had buylt, and King Asa built with them Geba of Beniamin and Mizpah.
15:23And the rest of all the actes of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he buylt, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? but in his olde age he was diseased in his feete.
15:24And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father. And Iehoshaphat his sonne reigned in his steade.
15:25And Nadab the sonne of Ieroboam began to reigne ouer Israel the second yere of Asa King of Iudah, and reigned ouer Israel two yeere.
15:26And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of his father, and in his sinne wherewith he made Israel to sinne.
15:27And Baasha the sonne of Ahijah of ye house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha slue him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistims: for Nadab and all Israel layde siege to Gibbethon.
15:28Euen in the third yeere of Asa King of Iudah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his steade.
15:29And when he was King, he smote all the house of Ieroboam, he left none aliue to Ieroboam, vntill hee had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord which he spake by his seruant Ahijah the Shilonite,
15:30Because of the sinnes of Ieroboam which he committed, and wherewith he made Israel to sinne, by his prouocation, wherewith he prouoked the Lord God of Israel.
15:31And the residue of the actes of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
15:32And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel, all their dayes.
15:33In the thirde yeere of Asa King of Iudah, began Baasha the sonne of Ahijah to reigne ouer all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned foure and twentie yeeres.
15:34And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of Ieroboam, and in his sinne, wherewith he made Israel to sinne.

15:1In the .xviij. yere of kynge Ieroboam the sonne of Nabat, raygned Abiam ouer Iuda.
15:2Thre yere raygned he in Ierusalem and hys mothers name was Maacha the daughter of Abisalom.
15:3And he walked in all the synnes of his father, which he had done before hym and hys hert was not perfect with the Lord hys God as the hert of Dauid his father.
15:4Neuerthelesse for Dauids sake dyd the Lord hys God geue hym a lyght in Ierusalem, that he sett vp his sonne after hym, and to stablisshe Ierusalem:
15:5because Dauid dyd that which was ryght in the syght of the Lorde, and turned from nothinge that he commaunded hym all the dayes of hys lyfe saue onely in the matter of Urias the Hethite.
15:6And there was warre betwene Rehoboam and Ieroboam as longe as he lyued.
15:7The rest of the wordes that concerne Abiam, and all that he dyd, are they not wrytten in the boke of the Cronicles of the kynges of Iuda? And ther was warre betwene Abiam and Ieroboam.
15:8And Abiam slepte with hys fathers, and they buryed hym in the cytie of Dauid. And Asa his sonne raygned in his steade.
15:9In the .xx. yere of Ieroboam kynge of Israel, raygned Asa ouer Iuda
15:10.xli. yere raygned he in Hierusalem, & hys mothers name was Maacha, the daughter of Abisalom.
15:11And Asa dyd that semed ryght in the eyes of the Lorde, as dyd Dauid his father.
15:12And he toke awaye the whore kepers out of the lande, and put awaye all the abhominable Idols that his fathers had made.
15:13And he put downe Maacha hys mother from berynge rule, because she had made ymages in groues. And Asa destroyed her ymages, and burnt them by the broke Cedron.
15:14But the hillaulters were not put downe. Neuerthelesse Asaes herte was perfecte with the Lord all his dayes.
15:15He brought in the holy vessels of his father, (& that he had dedicat) vnto the house of the Lorde: golde & syluer, & Iewelles.
15:16And there was warre betwene Asa & Baasa kynge of Israell all theyr dayes.
15:17And Baasa kynge of Israel, went vp agaynst Iuda, & buylt Rama, so that he wolde let none go out or in, to Asa kynge of Iuda.
15:18Then Asa toke all the syluer & golde, that was lefte in the treasures of the house of the Lorde, & the treasures of the kynges house, and delyuered them vnto the handes of hys seruauntes, & Asa sent them to Benhadad the sonne of Tabrimon the sonne of Hezion kynge of Siria, (that dwelt at Damasco,) sayenge:
15:19there is a bonde betwene me & the, betwene my father and thy father. And beholde, I haue sent vnto the a present of syluer & golde that thou come & breake the bonde that thou hast wt Baasa kynge of Israell, that he maye departe from me.
15:20So Benhadad herkened vnto kyng Asa, and sent the captaynes of the hostes (which he had) agaynst the cyties of Israel, & smote Hion, & Dan, & Abel, Beth Macah, & all the region of Ceneroth with all the lande of Nephthali.
15:21And when Baasa heard therof, he lefte buylding of Rama & dwelt in Thirza.
15:22Then kyng Asa made a proclamacyon thorowout all Iuda, that none shuld be excused. And so they toke the stones of Ramah & the tymber (wherwith Baasa had buylded,) & kyng Asa buylt with them the hyll of BenIamin and Mizpa.
15:23The remnaunt of all the wordes that concerne Asa, and all hys myght and all that he dyd, & the cyties whych he buylded, are they not wrytten in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Iuda? Neuerthelesse in hys olde age he was diseased in hys fete.
15:24And Asa slepte wyth hys fathers, & was buryed besyde his fathers in the cytie of Dauid hys father. And Iehosaphat his sonne raygned in his steade.
15:25And Nadab the sonne of Ieroboam beganne to raygne vpon Israel the seconde yere of Asa kynge of Iuda, and raygned vpon Israel two yere.
15:26And he dyd euell in the syght of the Lorde, walkynge in the waye of hys father and in hys synne wherwith he made Israel synne.
15:27And Baasa the sonne of Ahia (whych was of the house of Isachar) conspired agaynst hym, and Baasa smote him at Gibbethon which is a cytie of the Philistines: for Nadab & all Israel layed seage to Gibbethon.
15:28Euen in the thirde yere of Asa kynge of Iuda, dyd Baasa slaye him, and raygned in his steade.
15:29And it fortuned that whan he was kyng, he smot all the house of Ieroboam, and lefte him naught that breathed, vntyll he had put hym cleane out, accordyng vnto the sayeng of the Lord, which he spake by his seruaunt Ahia the Selonite:
15:30because of the synnes of Ieroboam wherwyth he synned and made Israel synne, whan he wyth hys prouocacyon angred the Lorde God of Israel.
15:31The rest of the wordes that concerne Nadab, and all that he dyd, are they not wrytten in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Israel?
15:32And there was warre betwene Asa and Baasa kynge of Israel all theyr dayes.
15:33So in the thyrde yere of Asa kynge of Iuda, began Baasa the sonne of Ahia to raygne ouer all Israell in Thirza .xxiiij. yeare.
15:34And he dyd that which is euell in the syght of the Lorde, walkynge in the waye of Ieroboam, & in his synne, which made Israel to synne.
