| 10:1 | Nowe the Philistines fought against Israel, and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell downe slaine in mount Gilboa. |
| 10:2 | And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sonnes, and the Philistines slew Ionathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sonnes of Saul. |
| 10:3 | And the battell went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers. |
| 10:4 | Then saide Saul to his armour bearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith, lest these vncircumcised come, and abuse mee: but his armour bearer would not, for he was sore afraid. So Saul tooke a sword, and fell vpon it. |

| 10:8 | And it came to passe on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slaine, that they found Saul and his sonnes fallen in mount Gilboa. |
| 10:9 | And when they had stripped him, they tooke his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to cary tidings vnto their idoles, and to the people. |
| 10:10 | And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon. |
| 10:11 | And when all Iabesh Gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul: |
| 10:12 | They arose, all the valiant men, and tooke away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sonnes, and brought them to Iabesh, and buried their bones vnder the oke in Iabesh, and fasted seuen dayes. |
| 10:13 | So Saul died for his transgression which hee committed against the Lord, euen against the word of the Lord which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it: |
| 10:14 | And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdome vnto Dauid the sonne of Iesse. |

| 10:2 | And the Philistines folowed, & were fearce after Saul & his sonnes, & the Philistines smote Ichonathan & Abinadab & Malchisua the sonnes of Saul: |
| 10:3 | And the battell went sore agaynst Saul, & the archers founde hym, and he was wounded of shoters. |
| 10:4 | Then sayde Saul to his wepon bearer drawe thy swerde, and thrust me thorow therwith, that these vncircumcised come not and do me shame. But hys wepon bearer wolde not, for he feared excedynglye. So Saul caught a swerde, and fell vpon it. |
| 10:5 | And when his harnesbearer sawe that Saul was deed, he fell on a swerde also and dyed. |
| 10:6 | And thus Saul and his thre sonnes, and all they of hys house dyed together. |
| 10:7 | And when all the men of Israel that were in the valeye, sawe howe they fled, and that Saul and his sonnes were deed, they forsoke theyr cyties and ranne awaye, and the Philistines came, and dwelt in them. |
| 10:8 | And it fortuned that on the morowe when the Philistines came (to stripe the deed bodies) they founde Saul & hys sonnes ouerthrowen in mount Gilboe. |
| 10:9 | And when they had stript hym, they toke hys heed, and hys harnesse, and sent them into the lande of the Philistines rounde aboute to shewe them vnto theyr Idols, and to the people. |
| 10:10 | And they put his harnesse in the house of theyr God, & set vp hys heade in the temple of Dagon. |
| 10:11 | And when all they of Iabes in Gilead hearde all that the Philistines had done to Saul: |
| 10:12 | they arose (all the strongest of them) and fet awaye the body of Saul, and the bodyes of his sonnes, and brought them to Iabes, and buryed the bones of them vnder an oke in Iabes and fasted seuen dayes. |
| 10:13 | So Saul dyed for hys trespace that he trespaced agaynst the Lorde, in that he kept not the worde of the Lorde, and in that he sought and asked councell of a woman that wrought with a sprete, |
| 10:14 | and asked not of the Lorde. And therfore he slue hym, and turned the kyngdome vnto Dauid the sonne of Isai. |
