1 Chronicles - Chapter: 17

>
17:1Now it came to passe, as Dauid sate in his house, that Dauid sayde to Nathan the Prophet, Loe, I dwell in an house of Cedars, but the Arke of the Couenant of the Lord remaineth vnder curtaines.
17:2Then Nathan sayd vnto Dauid, Doe all that is in thine heart, for God is with thee.
17:3And it came to passe the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
17:4Goe and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in.
17:5For I haue not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought vp Israel, vnto this day, but haue gone from tent to tent, and from one Tabernacle to another.
17:6Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the Iudges of Israel (whom I commanded to feed my people) saying, Why haue ye not built me an house of Cedars?
17:7Now therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I tooke thee from the Sheep-coat, euen from folowing the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler ouer my people Israel:
17:8And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
17:9Also I will ordeine a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moued no more: neither shal the children of wickednesse waste them any more (as at the beginning,
17:10And since the time that I commanded Iudges to bee ouer my people Israel.) Moreouer, I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tel thee, that the Lord will build thee an house.
17:11And it shall come to passe, when thy dayes be expired, that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise vp thy seed after thee, which shall bee of thy sonnes, and I wil stablish his kingdome.
17:12He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.
17:13I will be his father, and he shall be my sonne, and I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.
17:14But I will settle him in mine house, and in my kingdom for euer, and his throne shall bee established for euermore.
17:15According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speake vnto Dauid.
17:16And Dauid the king came, and sate before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought mee hitherto?
17:17And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God: for thou hast also spoken of thy seruants house, for a great while to come, and hast regarded mee according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Lord God.
17:18What can Dauid speake more to thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.
17:19O Lord, for thy seruants sake, and according to thine owne heart, hast thou done all this greatnesse in making knowen all these great things.
17:20O Lord, there is none like thee neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.
17:21And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whome God went to redeeme to be his owne people, to make thee a name of greatnesse and terriblenesse, by driuing out nations from before thy people whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
17:22For thy people Israel didst thou make thine owne people for euer, and thou, Lord, becamest their God.
17:23Therefore now Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant, and concerning his house, be established for euer, and doe as thou hast said.
17:24Let it euen bee established, that thy name may bee magnified for euer, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, euen a God to Israel: and let the house of Dauid thy seruant be established before thee.
17:25For thou, O my God, hast tolde thy seruant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy seruant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
17:26And now, Lord (thou art God, and hast promised this goodnesse vnto thy seruant.)
17:27Now therefore let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may bee before thee for euer: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shalbe blessed for euer.

17:1Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.
17:2Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.
17:3And the same night euen the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
17:4Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:
17:5For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.
17:6Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?
17:7Nowe therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecoat and from following the sheepe, that thou shouldest bee a prince ouer my people Israel.
17:8And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
17:9(Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in their place, and moue no more: neither shall the wicked people vexe them any more, as at the beginning,
17:10And since the time that I commanded iudges ouer my people Israel) And I wil subdue all thine enemies: therefore I say vnto thee, that the Lord wil buylde thee an house.
17:11And when thy dayes shalbe fulfilled to go with thy fathers, then will I rayse vp thy seede after thee, which shalbe of thy sonnes, and will stablish his kingdome.
17:12He shall builde me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.
17:13I wil be his father, and he shalbe my sonne, aud I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.
17:14But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,
17:15According to all these wordes, and according to al this vision. So Nathan spake to Dauid.
17:16And Dauid the King went in and sate before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
17:17Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.
17:18What can Dauid desire more of thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.
17:19O Lord, for thy seruantes sake, euen according to thine heart hast thou done all this great thing to declare all magnificence.
17:20Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.
17:21Moreouer what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whose God went to redeeme them to be his people, and to make thy selfe a Name, and to doe great and terrible things by casting out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast deliuered out of Egypt?
17:22For thou hast ordeined thy people Israel to be thine owne people for euer, and thou Lord art become their God.
17:23Therefore nowe Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and concerning his house, be confirmed for euer, and doe as thou hast sayd,
17:24And let thy name be stable and magnified for euer, that it may be sayd, The Lord of hostes, God of Israel, is the God of Israel, and let the house of Dauid thy seruant bee stablished before thee.
17:25For thou, O my God, hast reueiled vnto the eare of thy seruant, that thou wilt builde him an house: therefore thy seruant hath bene bolde to pray before thee.
17:26Therefore nowe Lord (for thou art God, and hast spoken this goodnesse vnto thy seruant)
17:27Now therfore, it hath pleased thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may bee before thee for euer: for thou, O Lord, hast blessed it, and it shalbe blessed for euer.

17:1And it fortuned that whan Dauid dwelt in hys house, he sayde to Nathan the prophete: lo, I dwell in an house of Cedar tree: but the Arcke of the Lordes couenaunt remayneth vnder curtaynes.
17:2And Nathan sayd to Dauid: do all that is in thyne herte, for God is with the.
17:3And the same nyght it fortuned that the worde of God came to Nathan, sayinge:
17:4go and tell Dauid my seruaunt, thus sayth the Lorde, thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in.
17:5For I haue dwelt in no house sence the daye that I brought out the chyldren of Israel vnto thys daye: but haue gone from tent to tent, and from one habitacyon to another.
17:6And whersoeuer I haue walked wyth all Israel, spake I euer one worde to anye of the iudges of Israell (whom I commaunded to fede my people,) sayinge: why haue ye not buylt me an house of Cedar tree?
17:7Nowe therfore, thus shalt thou saye vnto my seruaunt Dauid: thus sayth the Lorde of Hostes: I toke the out of the pastures whan thou wentest after shepe, that thou shuldest be captayne ouer my people Israel.
17:8And I haue bene wt the whither soeuer thou hast walked, & haue weded out all thyne enemyes out of thy sight & haue made the a name, lyke the name of the greatest men that are in the erthe.
17:9And I haue ordeyned a place for my people Israel and made it faste, so that nowe they maye dwell in theyr place, and moue nomore. Nether shall the chyldren of wyckednesse vexe them any moare as at the begynnynge.
17:10And sense the tyme that I commaunded iudges to be ouer my people Israel, I haue subdued all thyne enemies, and I tolde the, that the Lorde wolde buylde the an house.
17:11Thys also shall come to passe: when thy dayes be expired, that thou must go vnto thy fathers, I wyll rayse vp thy sead after the which shalbe of thy sonnes, and I wyll prepare for hym the kyngdome.
17:12He shall buylde me an house, and I wyll stablishe his seate for euer
17:13I wylbe hys father, and he shalbe my sonne, and I wyll not take my mercy awaye from hym, as I toke it from hym that was before the.
17:14But I wyll sett hym in myne house and in my kyngdome for euer, and hys seate shalbe sure for euermore
17:15According to all these wordes, and accordyng to all thys visyon, dyd Nathan tell kinge Dauid.
17:16And Dauid the kynge came & sat before the Lorde, & sayde: what am I (O Lord God,) and what is mynehoushold, that thou hast promoted me thus farre?
17:17And yet thys semed lyttel in thyne eyes, O God: But thou hast also spoken of thy seruauntes house for a greate whyle to come: and hast loked vpon me as vpon a man of hye degree (O Lorde God.)
17:18What shall Dauid desyre more of the for the honoure of thy seruaunt? For thou hast knowen thy seruaunt:
17:19O Lorde for thy seruauntes sake, euen accordynge to thyne awne hert hast thou done all thys magnifycence, to shewe all great thinges.
17:20Lorde, there is none lyke the, nether is there anye God saue thou, accordinge to all that we haue hearde wt oure eares.
17:21Moreouer, what nacion on the erth is lyke thy people Israel, to whom God hath vouchsafed to come and redeme them to be hys awne people, and to make the a name of excellency and terriblenesse, with castyng out nacyons from before thy people, whom thou hast delyuered out of Egypte?
17:22Thy people of Israel dyddest thou make thyne awne people for euer, and thou becamest theyr God.
17:23Therfore nowe Lorde, let the thynge that thou hast spoken concernynge thy seruaunt and hys house, be true for euer, that thou do as thou hast sayde: let it come to passe,
17:24that thy name maye be magnifyed for euer, that it maye be sayde: the Lorde of Hostes is the God of Israel (euen the God of Israel) & the house of Dauid thy seruaunt endureth stable before the.
17:25For thou (O my God) hast tolde thy seruaunte, that thou wylt buylde him an house. And therfore thy seruaunt hath founde in hys hert to praye before the.
17:26And nowe Lord, thou art God, and hast promised thys goodnesse vnto thy seruaunte.
17:27Nowe therfore, let it be thy pleasure to blesse the house of thy seruaunt, that it maye contynue before the for euer. For whom thou blessest (O Lorde) the same is blessed for euer.
