2 Chronicles - Chapter: 11


11:1	And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin, an hundred and fourescore thousand chosen men, which were warriers, to fight against Israel, that hee might bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
11:2	But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
11:3	Speake vnto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Iudah, and to all Israel in Iudah & Beniamin, saying,
11:4	Thus saith the Lord; Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house, for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
11:5	And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and built cities for defence in Iudah.
11:6	He built euen Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
11:7	And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
11:8	And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
11:9	And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
11:10	And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which are in Iudah and in Beniamin, fenced cities.
11:11	And he fortified the strong holds, and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and of oyle and wine.
11:12	And in euery seuerall citie he put shields and speares, and made them exceeding strong, hauing Iudah and Beniamin on his side.
11:13	And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted to him out of all their coasts.
11:14	For the Leuites left their suburbs, and their possession, and came to Iudah and Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them off from executing the Priests office vnto the Lord.
11:15	And hee ordeined him priests for the high places, and for the deuils, and for the calues which he had made.
11:16	And after them out of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their hearts to seeke the Lord God of Israel, came to Ierusalem, to sacrifice vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
11:17	So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Solomon strong, three yeeres: for three yeeres they walked in the way of Dauid and Solomon.
11:18	And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath the daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Iesse:
11:19	Which bare him children, Ieush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
11:20	And after her, hee tooke Maacah the daughter of Absalom, which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
11:21	And Rehoboam loued Maacah the daughter of Absalom, aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and threescore concubines, and begate twentie and eight sonnes, and threescore daughters.
11:22	And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maacah the chiefe, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
11:23	And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Iudah and Beniamin, vnto euery fenced citie: and he gaue them vitaile in abundance: and hee desired many wiues.


11:1	And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
11:2	But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
11:3	Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
11:4	Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
11:5	And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
11:6	Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
11:7	And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
11:8	And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
11:9	And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
11:10	And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
11:11	And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
11:12	And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
11:13	And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
11:14	For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
11:15	And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
11:16	And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
11:17	So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
11:18	And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
11:19	Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
11:20	And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
11:21	And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
11:22	And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
11:23	And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.


11:1	And whan Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iuda & Beniamin, nyne score thousande chosen men of warre to fight agaynst Israel, & to brynge the kyngdome agayne to Rehoboam.
11:2	And the word of the Lorde came to Semeiahu the man of God, saying:
11:3	speake vnto Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon kynge of Iuda, & to all them of Israel that are in Iuda & Beniamin, & saye:
11:4	thus sayeth the Lorde. Ye shall not go vp nor fight agaynst your brethren: returne euery man to his house, for thys thynge is done of me. And they obeyed the wordes of the Lorde, and returned from goynge agaynst Ieroboam.
11:5	And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt stronge cyties in Iuda.
11:6	He buylded vp Bethleem, and Etham, and Theko:
11:7	Bethzur, Socho and Adullam:
11:8	Gath, and Maresa: and Ziph Adurahim,
11:9	Lachis and asecha:
11:10	Zorca Aialon and Hebron, which is in Iuda & Beniamin, stronge cyties.
11:11	And he repayred the stronge holdes & put captaynes in them, and store of vitayle, & wyne, & oyle.
11:12	And in all cyties he put shyldes & speares, and made them exceadynge stronge, hauynge Iuda and Beniamin on his syde.
11:13	And the prestes and the leuites that were in all Israel, resorted to hym out of all their coastes.
11:14	For the leuites lefte their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iuda and Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from minystrynge vnto the Lorde.
11:15	And he ordeyned hym prestes for the hylaultares, for the deuylles and for the calues which he had made.
11:16	And after the leuites there went of all the trybes of Israel, soche as submitted their hertes to seke the Lorde God of Israel, and came to Ierusalem, to offer vnto the Lorde God of their fathers.
11:17	And so they strengthed the kyngdome of Iuda, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon myghtye thre yeare longe for thre yere they walked in the waye of Dauid and Salomon.
11:18	And Rehoboam toke hym Mahalath the daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wyfe, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Isai,
11:19	which bare hym chyldren Ieus, Samaria, and Zaha.
11:20	And after her he toke Maaca the daughter of Absalon which bare hym Abia, Atthai, Ziza, & Selomith.
11:21	And Rehoboam loued Maacah the daughter of Absalon aboue all his wyues & concubynes, for he toke eyghtene wyues and thre skore concubynes, and begat .xxviii. sonnes and .lx. daughters.
11:22	Ad Rehoboam made Abiah the sonne of Maacah the chefe ruler amonge his brethren, and to haue the ouersyght of the kyngdome.
11:23	And he played wysely, and scatered all his chyldren thorowe out all the countreyes of Iuda and Ben Iamin vnto euery stronge cytie. And he gaue them aboundaunce of vitayle, and obtayned many wyues.
