| 26:1 | Then all the people of Iudah tooke Uzziah, who was sixteene yeeres old, and made him King in the roome of his father Amaziah. |
| 26:2 | He built Eloth, and restored it to Iudah: after that the King slept with his fathers. |
| 26:3 | Sixteene yeeres old was Uzziah, when he began to reigne, and he reigned fiftie and two yeeres in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Iecoliah of Ierusalem. |
| 26:4 | And hee did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did. |
| 26:5 | And hee sought God in the dayes of Zechariah, who had vnderstanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. |
| 26:6 | And hee went foorth and warred against the Philistines, & brake downe the wall of Gath, and the wall of Iabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines. |

| 26:8 | And the Ammonites gaue gifts to Uzziah, and his name spread abroad euen to the entring in of Egypt: for hee strengthened himselfe exceedingly. |
| 26:9 | Moreouer Uzziah built towers in Ierusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them. |
| 26:10 | Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many welles, for hee had much cattell, both in the low countrey, and in the plaines: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountaines, and in Carmel: for hee loued husbandrie. |
| 26:11 | Moreouer, Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to warre by bands, according to the number of their account, by the hand of Ieiel the Scribe, and Maasiah the ruler, vnder the hand of Hananiah, one of the kings captaines. |
| 26:12 | The whole number of the chiefe of the fathers of the mightie men of valour, were two thousand and sixe hundred. |
| 26:13 | And vnder their hand was an armie, three hundred thousand, and seuen thousand, and fiue hundred, that made warre with mightie power, to helpe the king against the enemie. |
| 26:14 | And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the hoste, shields, and speares, and helmets, and habergions, and bowes, and slings to cast stones. |
| 26:15 | And hee made in Ierusalem engines inuented by cunning men, to bee on the towers, & vpon the bulwarks, to shoote arrowes and great stones withall: and his name spread farre abroad, for he was marueilously helped, till he was strong. |
| 26:16 | But when he was strong, his heart was lifted vp to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord, to burne incense vpon the altar of incense. |
| 26:17 | And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourescore priests of the Lord, that were valiant men. |
| 26:18 | And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said vnto him, It perteineth not vnto thee, Uzziah, to burne incense vnto the Lord, but to the priestes the sonnes of Aaron, that are consecrated to burne incense. Goe out of the Sanctuarie; for thou hast trespassed, neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God. |
| 26:19 | Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand, to burne incense, and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosie euen rose vp in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar. |
| 26:20 | And Azariah the chiefe priest, and all the priests looked vpon him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence, yea himselfe hasted also to goe out, because the Lord had smitten him. |
| 26:21 | And Uzziah the king was a leper vnto the day of his death, and dwelt in a seuerall house being a leper, for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Iotham his sonne was ouer the kings house, iudging the people of the land. |
| 26:22 | Now the rest of the actes of Uzziah first and last, did Isaiah the prophet the sonne of Amoz write. |
| 26:23 | So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the buriall which belonged to the kings: for they saide, He is a leper: And Iotham his sonne reigned in his stead. |

| 26:11 | Vzziah had also an hoste of fighting men that went out to warre by bandes, according to the count of their nomber vnder the hande of Ieiel the Scribe, and Maaseiah the ruler, and vnder the hand of Hananiah, one of the Kings captaines. |
| 26:12 | The whole nomber of the chiefe of the families of the valiant men were two thousande and sixe hundreth. |
| 26:13 | And vnder their hande was the armie for warre, three hundreth and seuen thousand, and fiue hundreth that fought valiantly to helpe the King against the enemie. |

| 26:15 | He made also very artificial engins in Ierusalem, to be vpon the towres and vpon the corners, to shoote arrowes and great stones: and his name spred farre abroade, because God did helpe him marueilously, till he was mightie. |
| 26:16 | But when he was strong, his heart was lift vp to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the Temple of the Lord to burne incense vpon the altar of incense. |
| 26:17 | And Azariah the Priest went in after him, and with him foure score Priests of the Lord, valiant men. |
| 26:18 | And they withstoode Vzziah the King, and said vnto him, It perteineth not to thee, Vzziah, to burne incense vnto the Lord, but to the Priests the sonnes of Aaron, that are consecrated for to offer incense: goe forth of the Sanctuarie: for thou hast transgressed, and thou shalt haue none honour of the Lord God. |
| 26:19 | Then Vzziah was wroth, and had incense in his hand to burne it: and while he was wroth with the Priestes, the leprosie rose vp in his forehead before the Priestes in the house of the Lord beside the incense altar. |
| 26:20 | And when Azariah the chiefe Priest with al the Priestes looked vpon him, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they caused him hastily to depart thence: and he was euen compelled to go out, because the Lord had smitten him. |
| 26:21 | And Vzziah the king was a leper vnto the day of his death, and dwelt as a leper in an house apart, because he was cut off from the house of ye Lord: and Iotham his sonne ruled ouer the Kings house, and iudged the people of the land. |

| 26:23 | So Vzziah slept with his fathers, and they buryed him with his fathers in the fielde of the burial, which perteined to the kings: for they said, He is a leper. And Iotham his sonne reigned in his steade. |

| 26:6 | And he went to batell agaynst the Philistines, and brake downe the wall of Geth, & the wall of Iabne, and the wall of Asdob, & buylt cyties about Asdod & among the Philistines. |
| 26:7 | And God holpe him against the Philistines, and agaynst the Arabiens that dwelt in Gurbaal and Hammehunim. |
| 26:8 | And the Ammonites gaue tribute to Uzia, and his name spredde abroade euen to the entryng in of Egypte: for he played the man exceadingly. |

| 26:10 | And he buylt towres in the wyldernesse, and digged many welles: For he had moche catell, in the valeys and playnes, plowmen and vynedressers in the mountaynes and in Charmel, for he loued husbandrye: |
| 26:11 | And Uzia had an host of fyghtynge men that went out to warre in the armye accordynge to the nombre of theyr office vnder the hande of Ieiel the scrybe & Maasiahu the ruler, & vnder the hande of Hananiahu which was one of the kynges Lordes. |
| 26:12 | And the hoale nombre of the auncient fathers, & of the men of myght were two thousande and syxe hundred: |
| 26:13 | & vnder the hande of them was the armye of the men of warre, euen thre hundred and seuen thousande, & fyue hundred that made warre with the power of an armye, helpyng the kynge against the enemies. |
| 26:14 | And Uzia prouided them thorowe out all the host, shildes, speares, helmettes, haberginnes, bowes and slynges for to cast stones. |
| 26:15 | And he made sotle engynnes in Ierusalem, which he inuented & layed on the towres and corners, to shote arowes and greate stones with all. And his name spredd farre abroad, because he was helped so excellently, so that he became very mighty. |
| 26:16 | But in his strength, his hert arose to hys destruction: For he transgressed agaynst the Lorde hys God, & went into the temple of the Lorde, to burne cense vpon the alter of incense. |
| 26:17 | And Asariahu the preaste went in after him, and with him foure skore preastes of the Lorde that were valeaunt men. |
| 26:18 | And they stode by Uzia the kynge, and sayde vnto hym: it pertayneth not to the Uzia to burne incense vnto the Lorde, but to the preastes the chyldren of Aaron, that are consecrate for to offre incense. Come therfore out of the sanctuarye for thou hast trespaced, and it is no worshyp to the before the Lorde God. |
| 26:19 | And Uzia was wroth, & had incense in his hande to burne it: & so whyle he had indignacyon agaynst the preastes, the leprosye sprange in his foreheed before the preastes in the house of the Lorde, euen besyde the incense aulter. |
| 26:20 | And Asariahu the chefe preaste with all the other preastes loked vpon him: and beholde, he was become a leper in his foreheed, & they vexed him thence. And he was fayne to go out, because the Lorde had smitten hym. |
| 26:21 | And Uzia the kynge contynued a lepre vnto the daye of hys deeth, and dwelt seuerall in an house beynge a leper and shutte out of the house of the Lorde. And Iotham hys sonne had the gouernaunce of the kynges house, and iudged the people of the lande. |
| 26:22 | The rest of the actes of Uzia fyrst & last, dyd Isai the prophete the sonne of Amos, wryte |
| 26:23 | And so Uzia slepte with hys fathers, and they buryed him with his fathers in the felde of the buryall which was besyde the sepulchres of the kinges. For they sayde: he is a leper. And Ioatham hys sonne raygned in hys steade. |
