54:1	To the chaunter in melodyes, an instruccyon of Dauid, when the Zephites came and sayde vnto Saull: Hath not Dauid hyd hym selfe amongest vs? Saue me, O God, for thy names sake, and auenge me in thy strength
54:2	Heare my prayer, O God, & herken vnto the wordes of my mouth.
54:3	For straungers are rysen vp against me, and tyrauntes (whych haue not God before their eyes) seke after my soule. Sela.
54:4	Beholde, God is my helper, the Lorde is with them that vpholde my soule.
54:5	He shall rewarde euell vnto myne enemyes: destroye thou them in thy treuth.
54:6	An offeryng of a fre hert will I geue the, and prayse thy name (O Lord) because it is so comfortable.
54:7	For he hath delyuered me out of all my trouble, and myne eye hat sene his desyre vpon myne enemyes.


54:1	The title of the foure and fiftithe salm. `In Ebreu thus, To victorie in orguns, the lernyng of Dauid. `In Jeroms translacioun thus, To the ouercomer in salmes of Dauid lernid.
54:2	God, here thou my preier, and dispise thou not my biseching;
54:3	yyue thou tent to me, and here thou me. I am sorewful in myn exercising; and Y am disturblid of the face of the enemye,
54:4	and of the tribulacioun of the synner. For thei bowiden wickidnessis in to me; and in ire thei weren diseseful to me.
54:5	Myn herte was disturblid in me; and the drede of deth felde on me.
54:6	Drede and trembling camen on me; and derknessis hiliden me.
54:7	And Y seide, Who schal yyue to me fetheris, as of a culuer; and Y schal fle, and schal take rest?


54:1	Helpe me (o God) for thy names sake, and delyuer me in thy stregth.
54:2	Heare my prayer (o God) considre the wordes of my mouth.
54:3	For straungers are rysen vp agaynst me, and the mightie (which haue not God before their eyes) seke after my soule.
54:4	Sela. But lo, God is my helper: it is he that vpholdeth my soule.
54:5	He shall rewarde euell vnto myne enemies, and in thy treuth shalt thou destroye them.
54:6	A frewil offeringe wil I geue the, and prayse thy name o LORDE, because it is so comfortable.
54:7	For thou hast delyuered me out of all my trouble, so that myne eye seyth his desyre vpo myne enemies.
