Psalms - Chapter: 57

>
57:1[To the chiefe musician Al-taschith, Michtam of Dauid, when hee fled from Saul in the caue.] Be mercifull vnto mee, O God, be merciful vnto me, for my soule trusteth in thee: yea in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, vntill these calamities bee ouerpast.
57:2I will crie vnto God most high: vnto God that perfourmeth all things for mee.
57:3Hee shall send from heauen, and saue me from the reproch of him, that would swallow me vp; Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his trueth.
57:4My soule is among lyons, and I lie euen among them that are set on fire: euen the sonnes of men, whose teeth are speares and arrowes, and their tongue a sharpe sword.
57:5Be thou exalted, O God, aboue the heauens: let thy glory be aboue all the earth.
57:6They haue prepared a net for my steppes, my soule is bowed downe: they haue digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselues. Selah.
57:7My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing, and giue praise.
57:8Awake vp my glory, awake psalterie and harpe; I my selfe will awake early.
57:9I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people; I will sing vnto thee among the nations.
57:10For thy mercy is great vnto the heauens, and thy trueth vnto the clouds.
57:11Be thou exalted, O God, aboue the heauens: let thy glory be aboue all the earth.

 

57:1To him that excelleth. Destroy not. A Psalme of David on Michtam. When he fled from Saul in the cave. Have mercie vpon me, O God, haue mercie vpon me: for my soule trusteth in thee, and in the shadowe of thy wings wil I trust, till these afflictions ouerpasse.
57:2I will call vnto the most high God, euen to the God, that performeth his promise toward me.
57:3He will send from heauen, and saue me from the reproofe of him that would swallowe me. Selah. God wil send his mercy, and his trueth.
57:4My soule is among lions: I lie among the children of men, that are set on fire: whose teeth are speares and arrowes, and their tongue a sharpe sworde.
57:5Exalt thy selfe, O God, aboue the heauen, and let thy glory be vpon all the earth.
57:6They haue layd a net for my steps: my soule is pressed downe: they haue digged a pit before me, and are fallen into the mids of it. Selah.
57:7Mine heart is prepared, O God, mine heart is prepared: I will sing and giue prayse.
57:8Awake my tongue, awake viole and harpe: I wil awake early.
57:9I will prayse thee, O Lord, among the people, and I wil sing vnto thee among the nations.
57:10For thy mercie is great vnto the heauens, and thy trueth vnto the cloudes.
57:11Exalt thy selfe, O God, aboue the heauens, and let thy glory be vpon all the earth.

 

57:1To the chaunter destroye not: The badges or armes of Dauid, when he fled from Saul into the caue. Be mercyfull vnto me (O God) be mercyfull vnto me, for my soule trusteth in the: and vnder the shadowe of thy winges shalbe my refuge vntyll this tyrannye be ouer past.
57:2I wil cal vnto the most hye God, euen to the God that shall perfourme the cause which I haue in hande.
57:3He shall sende from heauen, and saue me from the reprofe of hym that wold eate me vp. Sela. God shall sende forth hys mercy & treuth.
57:4My soule is among lyons and I lye euen amonge the chyldren of men (that are sett on fyre) whose tethe are speares and arowes, and their tonge a sherp swearde.
57:5Set vp thy self (O God) aboue the heauens, and thy glorye aboue all the earth.
57:6They haue layed a nett for my fete, and pressed downe my soule: they haue dygged a pytt before me, and are fallen into the myddes of it them selues. Sela.
57:7My herte is fyxed (O God) my herte is fyxed: I wyll synge and geue prayse.
57:8Awake, O my glory, awake lute and harpe, I my selfe wyll a wake ryght early.
57:9I wyll geue thankes vnto the (O Lorde) among the people, and I wyll synge vnto the amonge the nacyons.
57:10For the greatnes of thy mercy reacheth vnto the heauens, and thy treuth vnto the cloudes.
57:11Sett vp thy selfe (O God) aboue the heauens, & thy glory aboue all the earth.
