Psalms - Chapter: 58

>
58:1[To the chiefe musician Al-taschith, Michtam of Dauid.] Doe yee indeed speake righteousnesse, O congregation? doe ye iudge vprightly, O ye sonnes of men?
58:2Yea, in heart you worke wickednesse; you waigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
58:3The wicked are estranged from the wombe, they goe astray as soone as they be borne, speaking lies.
58:4Their poison is like the poyson of a serpent; they are like the deafe adder that stoppeth her eare:
58:5Which will not hearken to the voyce of charmers, charming neuer so wisely.
58:6Breake their teeth, O God, in their mouth: breake out the great teeth of the young lyons, O Lord.
58:7Let them melt away as waters, which runne continually: When he bendeth his bow to shoote his arrowes, let them be as cut in pieces.
58:8As a snaile which melteth, let euery one of them passe away: like the vntimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sunne.
58:9Before your pots can feele the thornes, he shall take them away as with a whirlewind, both liuing, and in his wrath.
58:10The righteous shall reioyce when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feete in the blood of the wicked.
58:11So that a man shall say, Uerily there is a reward for the righteous: verily hee is a God that iudgeth in the earth.

58:1To him that excelleth. Destroy not. A Psalme of David on Michtam. Is it true? O Congregation, speake ye iustly? O sonnes of men, iudge ye vprightly?
58:2Yea, rather ye imagine mischiefe in your heart: your hands execute crueltie vpon the earth.
58:3The wicked are strangers from ye wombe: euen from the belly haue they erred, and speake lyes.
58:4Their poyson is euen like the poyson of a serpent: like ye deafe adder that stoppeth his eare.
58:5Which heareth not the voyce of the inchanter, though he be most expert in charming.
58:6Breake their teeth, O God, in their mouthes: breake the iawes of the yong lions, O Lord.
58:7Let them melt like the waters, let them passe away: when hee shooteth his arrowes, let them be as broken.
58:8Let them consume like a snayle that melteth, and like the vntimely fruite of a woman, that hath not seene the sunne.
58:9As raw flesh before your pots feele the fire of thornes: so let him cary them away as with a whirlewinde in his wrath.
58:10The righteous shall reioyce when he seeeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feete in the blood of the wicked.
58:11And men shall say, Verily there is fruite for the righteous: doutlesse there is a God that iudgeth in the earth.

58:1To the chaunter Destroye not. The badge or armes of Dauid. Are your myndes sett vpon ryghteousnes, O ye congregacyon? and do ye iudge the thyng that is right O ye sonnes of men?
58:2Yee, ye ymagyn mischef in your hert vpon the earth, and youre handes deale with wyckednesse.
58:3The vngodly are frowarde, euen from their mothers wombe: as soone as they be borne, they go a straye and speake lyes.
58:4They are as venymous as the poyson of a serpent, euen lyke the deaf Ader that stoppeth her eares.
58:5Which refuseth to heare the voyce of the charmer, charme he neuer so wisely.
58:6Breake theyr teth (O God) in their mouthes, smyte the chawe bones of the lyons (O Lorde:)
58:7Let them fall awaye lyke water that runneth a pace: & when they shote theyr arowes, lett them be roted out.
58:8Let them consume awaye lyke a snayle, and be lyke the vntimely frute of a woman, and let them not se the sonne.
58:9Or euer your pottes be made whot with thornes: so let indygnacyon vexe hym, euen as a thynge that is rawe.
58:10The ryghteous shall reioyse when he seyth the vengeaunce: he shal wash hys fote stepes in the bloude of the vngodly.
58:11So that a man shall saye: verely there is a rewarde for the ryghteous: doutles, there is a God that iudgeth in the earth.
