Psalms - Chapter: 72

>
72:1For Salomon. Geue the kynge thy iudgementes (O God) and thy righteousnesse vnto the kynges sonne.
72:2Then shall he iudge thy people accordinge vnto right, and defende the poore.
72:3The mountaynes also shall brynge peace, and the lytle hilles righteousnesse vnto the people.
72:4He shall kepe the symple folke by their ryght, defende the chyldren of the poore, and punish the wronge doer.
72:5They shall feare the as long as the sonne and mone endureth, from one generacion to another.
72:6He shall come downe like the rayne into a flese of wolle, euen as the droppes that water the earth.
72:7In his tyme shall the ryghteous florish, yee, and aboundaunce of peace, so longe as the mone endureth,
72:8His dominion shalbe also from the one see to the other, and from the floud vnto the worldes ende.
72:9They that dwell in the wildernes shall knele before him, his enemies shall licke the dust.
72:10The kynges of Tharsis and of the Iles shall geue presentes, the kynges of Araby and Saba shall bring gyftes.
72:11All kinges shal fall downe before him: all nacions shall do him seruice.
72:12For he shall delyuer the poore when he cryeth: the neady also and him that hath no helper.
72:13He shalbe fauorable to the simple and neady: and shall preserue the soules of the poore.
72:14He shall delyuer their soules from falshede and wronge, and deare shall theyr bloud be in his syght.
72:15He shall lyue, & vnto him shalbe geuen of the golde of Arabia: Prayer shalbe made euer vnto him, and daylie shall he be praysed.
72:16There shalbe an heape of corne in the earth hye vpon the hylles, his frute shall shake lyke Libanus, and shalbe grene in the cite, like grasse vpon the earth.
72:17His name shall endure for euer, his name shall remayne vnder the sunne amonge the posterites, which shalbe blessed thorow him, and all the Heathen shall prayse him
72:18Blessed be the Lorde God, euen the God of Israell which onely doth wonderous thinges.
72:19And blessed be the name of hys maiesty for euer, and all the erth shalbe filled with his maiestye. Amen, Amen.
72:20Here ende the prayers of Dauid the sonne of Isai.

 

72:1The `title of the two and seuentithe salm. `The salm of Asaph. God of Israel is ful good; to hem that ben of riytful herte.
72:2But my feet weren moued almeest; my steppis weren sched out almeest.
72:3For Y louede feruentli on wickid men; seynge the pees of synneris.
72:4For biholdyng is not to the deth of hem; and stidefastnesse in the sikenesse of hem.
72:5Thei ben not in the trauel of men; and thei schulen not be betun with men.
72:6Therfore pride helde hem; thei weren hilid with her wickidnesse and vnfeithfulnesse.
72:7The wickidnesse of hem cam forth as of fatnesse; thei yeden in to desire of herte.
72:8Thei thouyten and spaken weiwardnesse; thei spaken wickidnesse an hiy.
72:9Thei puttiden her mouth in to heuene; and her tunge passide in erthe.
72:10Therfor my puple schal be conuertid here; and fulle daies schulen be foundun in hem.
72:11And thei seiden, How woot God; and whether kunnyng is an heiye, `that is, in heuene?
72:12Lo! thilke synneris and hauynge aboundance in the world; helden richessis.
72:13And Y seide, Therfor without cause Y iustifiede myn herte; and waischide myn hoondis among innocentis.
72:14And Y was betun al dai; and my chastisyng was in morutidis.
72:15If Y seide, Y schal telle thus; lo! Y repreuede the nacioun of thi sones.
72:16I gesside, that Y schulde knowe this; trauel is bifore me.
72:17Til Y entre in to the seyntuarie of God; and vndurstonde in the last thingis of hem.
72:18Netheles for gilis thou hast put to hem; thou castidist hem doun, while thei weren reisid.
72:19Hou ben thei maad into desolacioun; thei failiden sodeynli, thei perischiden for her wickidnesse.
72:20As the dreem of men that risen; Lord, thou schalt dryue her ymage to nouyt in thi citee.

72:2That he maye gouerne thy people acordinge vnto right, and defende thy poore.
72:3That the mountaynes maye brynge peace, and the litle hilles rightuousnes vnto the people.
72:4He shal kepe the symple folke by their right, defende the childre of the poore, and punysh the wrongeous doer.
72:5Thou shalt be feared as longe as ye Sonne and the Moone endureth, from one generacion to another.
72:6He shal come downe like the rayne in to a flese of woll, and like the droppes that water ye earth.
72:7In his tyme shal rightuousnesse florish, yee and abundauce of peace, so longe as the Moone endureth.
72:8His dominion shalbe from the one see to the other, and from the floude vnto the worldes ende.
72:9They that dwell in the wildernes, shal knele before him, & his enemies shal licke the dust.
72:10The kynges of the see and of the Iles shal brynge presentes, ye kinges of Araby & Saba shall offre giftes.
72:11All kynges shal worshipe him, & all Heithe shal do him seruyce.
72:12For he shal deliuer the poore whe he crieth, & the nedy yt hath no helpe.
72:13He shall be fauorable to the symple & poore, he shal preserue the soules of soch as be in aduersite.
72:14He shal deliuer their soules from extorcion & wronge, & deare shal their bloude be in his sight.
72:15He shal lyue, & vnto him shalbe geue of ye golde of Arabia: Prayer shal be made euer vnto him, & daylie shal he be praysed.
72:16There shalbe an heape of corne in the earth hye vpon the hilles, his frute shal shake like Libanus,
