25:1 | O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. |
25:2 | For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. |
25:3 | Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. |
25:4 | For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. |
25:5 | Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. |
25:6 | And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. |
25:7 | And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. |
25:8 | He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. |
25:9 | And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. |
25:10 | For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. |
25:11 | And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. |
25:12 | And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust. |

25:3 | Therefore shall the mightie people giue glory vnto thee: the citie of the strong nations shall feare thee. |
25:4 | For thou hast bene a strength vnto the poore, euen a strength to the needie in his trouble, a refuge against the tempest, a shadow against the heate: for the blaste of the mightie is like a storme against the wall. |
25:5 | Thou shalt bring downe the noyse of the strangers, as the heate in a drie place: he wil bring downe the song of the mightie, as the heate in the shadowe of a cloude. |
25:6 | And in this mountaine shall the Lord of hostes make vnto all people a feast of fat thinges, euen a feast of fined wines, and of fat thinges full of marow, of wines fined and purified. |
25:7 | And he will destroy in this mountaine the couering that couereth all people, and the vaile that is spread vpon all nations. |
25:8 | He wil destroy death for euer: and the Lord God wil wipe away the teares from all faces, and the rebuke of his people will he take away out of all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. |
25:9 | And in that day shall men say, Loe, this is our God: we haue waited for him, and he wil saue vs. This is the Lord, we haue waited for him: we will reioyce and be ioyfull in his saluation. |
25:10 | For in this mountaine shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shalbe threshed vnder him, euen as strawe is thresshed in Madmenah. |
25:11 | And he shall stretche out his hande in the middes of them (as he that swimmeth, stretcheth them out to swimme) and with the strength of his handes shall he bring downe their pride. |
25:12 | The defence also of the height of thy walles shall he bring downe and lay lowe, and cast them to the ground, euen vnto the dust. |
25:1 | Thou arte the Lorde my God, I wyll magnifye the, I wyll geue thankes vnto thy name. For thou hast brought wonderfull thinges to passe, according to thyne olde councels truly & faythfully. |
25:2 | Thou hast mad of a citye an heape of stones, and brought a stronge towne into decaye. The habitation of straungers hast thou made to be no citye, nether shal it be builded any more. |
25:3 | Therfore shall the mighty people geue glory vnto the: the citye of the valeaunt Heithen shall feare the. |
25:4 | For thou hast bene a strength vnto the pore, and a succour for the neady in his trouble. A refuge agaynst euell wether, a shadowe against the heate. For the blast of ragyng men is lyke a storme that casteth downe a wall. |
25:5 | Lyke as thou bryngest heate downe out of a drye place, so shalt thou suppresse the noyse of aliauntes. The heate is in the shadow of the cloude: the braunch of the mighty shalbe brought lowe. |
25:6 | And in this mountaine shal the Lord of hostes make vnto all people a feaste of plenteous & delicate thinges, euen of most pleasaunt & deyntie disshes. |
25:7 | And in this mountayne shall the Lorde destroie the couering, that all people are wraped in, and the hanging that is spred vpon all nacyons. |
25:8 | As for death, he hath destroyed it for euer. And the Lorde God shall wype awaye teares from all faces, and the rebuke of his people shall he take a waie out of all the earth. For so the Lorde hath sayde. |
25:9 | And in that daye it shalbe sayde: Lo, this is our God, we haue wayted for hym, & he shall saue vs. Thys is the Lord, in whom we haue hoped, we wylbe mery & reioyce in the saluation that commeth of hym. |
25:10 | For in this mountayne shall the hande of the Lorde cease and Moab shalbe thresshed vnder him, euen as strawe is thresshed vpon the grounde. |
25:11 | And he shall stretch out hys hande in the myddes of them (as he that swymmeth, casteth out his handes to swymme) and with the strength of his handes shall he bring downe their pryde. |
25:12 | The strongholde also and fence of thy walles hath he ouerthrowen & cast downe, & brought them to the grounde, euen vnto dust. |
