Isaiah - Chapter: 26


26:1	In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
26:2	Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
26:3	Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
26:4	Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
26:5	For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
26:6	The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
26:7	The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.
26:8	Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
26:9	With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
26:10	Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
26:11	LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.
26:12	LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
26:13	O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
26:14	They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
26:15	Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.
26:16	LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.
26:17	Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.
26:18	We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
26:19	Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
26:20	Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
26:21	For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.


26:1	In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Iudah, We haue a strong citie: saluation shall God set for walles and bulwarkes.
26:2	Open ye the gates that the righteous nation, which keepeth the trueth, may enter in.
26:3	By an assured purpose wilt thou preserue perfite peace, because they trusted in thee.
26:4	Trust in the Lord for euer: for in the Lord God is strength for euermore.
26:5	For hee will bring downe them that dwell on hie: the hie citie he will abase: euen vnto the ground wil he cast it downe, and bring it vnto dust.
26:6	The foote shall treade it downe, euen the feete of the poore, and the steppes of the needie.
26:7	The way of the iust is righteousnesse: thou wilt make equall the righteous path of the iust.
26:8	Also we, O Lord, haue waited for thee in the way of thy iudgemets: the desire of our soule is to thy Name, and to the remembrance of thee.
26:9	With my soule haue I desired thee in the night, and with my spirit within mee will I seeke thee in the morning: for seeing thy iudgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learne righteousnesse.
26:10	Let mercie bee shewed to the wicked, yet hee will not learne righteousnesse: in the land of vprightnesse will he do wickedly, and will not beholde the maiestie of the Lord.
26:11	O Lord, they will not beholde thine hie hande: but they shall see it, and bee confounded with the zeale of the people, and the fire of thine enemies shall deuoure them.
26:12	Lord, vnto vs thou wilt ordeine peace: for thou also hast wrought all our workes for vs.
26:13	O Lord our God, other lords beside thee, haue ruled vs, but we will remember thee onely, and thy Name.
26:14	The dead shall not liue, neither shall the dead arise, because thou hast visited and scattered them, and destroyed all their memorie.
26:15	Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord: thou hast increased the nation: thou art made glorious: thou hast enlarged all the coastes of the earth.
26:16	Lord, in trouble haue they visited thee: they powred out a prayer when thy chastening was vpon them.
26:17	Like as a woman with childe, that draweth neere to the trauaile, is in sorow, and cryeth in her paines, so haue we bene in thy sight, O Lord.
26:18	We haue coceiued, we haue borne in paine, as though we should haue brought forth winde: there was no helpe in the earth, neither did the inhabitants of the world fall.
26:19	Thy dead men shall liue: euen with my body shall they rise. Awake, and sing, ye that dwel in dust: for thy dewe is as the dew of herbes, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
26:20	Come, my people: enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doores after thee: hide thy selfe for a very litle while, vntill the indignation passe ouer.
26:21	For lo, the Lord commeth out of his place, to visite the iniquitie of the inhabitants of the earth vpon them: and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more hide her slaine.


26:1	In that daye shall thys songe be songe in the lande of Iuda. We haue a stronge citye. Saluacion shall God appoynte in steade of walles and bulworke.
26:2	Open ye the gates that the righteous people which kepeth the trueth maye entre in.
26:3	Their minde is set vpon the, because thou preseruest them in peace yee, euen in peace: because they put their trust in the.
26:4	Put ye your trust allwaye in the Lorde: for in the Lorde God there is strength for euermore.
26:5	For he hath brought downe hye mynded citesens. As for the proude citye, he hath brought it lowe: euen vnto the grounde shall he cast it downe, & bring it vnto dust.
26:6	The fote euen the fote of the poore: and the steppes of such as be in necessitie shall treade it downe.
26:7	The path of equitye wilt thou graunt vnto the iuste, o thou moost ryghteous, thou shalt order the path of him that is ryghteous.
26:8	Yee, in the waye of thy iudgmentes, O Lord, haue we put our trust in the. Thy name also: & the remembraunce of the, is the thyng that oure soule longeth for.
26:9	My soule hath longed for the all the night, and wt my sprete (which is within me) wyll I seke the earlye in the morning. For when thy iudgementes are in the erth, the inhabitatours of the worlde shall learne righteousnes.
26:10	Shall the vngodly man be fauoured, which hath not learned ryghteousnes, but doth wickedly in the erth where nothynge ought to be done, but that which is ryghteous? He shall not se the glory of the Lorde.
26:11	Lorde, when thy hande is lyfte vp to stryke, they se it not: but they shall se it, and be confounded with the zele of the people, and the fyer that consumeth thyne enemyes, shall deuoure them.
26:12	Lord, vnto vs thou shalt prouyde peace: for thou also hast wrought all our workis in vs.
26:13	O Lorde our God, other lordes besyde the hath subdued vs: but we wylbe mindfull only of the & of thy name.
26:14	The deed will not lyue, & they that be out of lyfe, will not ryse agayne: therfore hast thou visited & roted them out, and destroyed all the memory of them.
26:15	Thou hast increased the people (O Lorde) thou hast increased the people, & thou art praysed: thou hast sent them farre of vnto all the coastes of the erth.
26:16	Lorde in trouble haue they visited the: they powred out their prayer, when thy chastenyng was vpon them.
26:17	Lyke as a woman wt chylde that draweth nye towarde her trauell, is sory & cryeth in her paynes, euen so haue we bene in thy sight, O Lorde.
26:18	We haue bene wt chylde & suffred payne, as though we had brought forth winde. For there is no saluation in the erth, nether do the inhabitours of the worlde submyt them selues.
26:19	Thy deed men shall lyue, euen wt my body shall they rise agayne. Awake and syng ye that dwell in dust. For thy dewe is euen as the dewe of herbes, and the earth shall cast out them that be vnder her.
26:20	Come my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy dores about the: hyde thy selfe a lytle for a whyle, vntyll the indignation be ouerpast.
26:21	For lo, the Lorde is commyng out of his place, to viset the wickednes of suche as dwell vpon earth. The earth also shall disclose her awne bloud, and shall nomore hid them that are slayne in her.
