3:1There was nowe a man of the Pharises, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Iewes.
3:2This man came to Iesus by night, and sayd vnto him, Rabbi, we knowe ye thou art a teacher come from God: for no man could do these miracles that thou doest, except God were with him.
3:3Iesus answered, and said vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto thee, except a man be borne againe, he can not see the kingdome of God.
3:4Nicodemus sayde vnto him, Howe can a man be borne which is olde? can he enter into his mothers wombe againe, and be borne?
3:5Iesus answered, Verely, verely I say vnto thee, except that a man be borne of water and of the Spirite, hee can not enter into the kingdome of God.
3:6That which is borne of the flesh, is flesh: and that that is borne of the Spirit, is spirit.
3:7Marueile not that I said to thee, Yee must be borne againe.
3:8The winde bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it commeth, and whither it goeth: so is euery man that is borne of the Spirit.
3:9Nicodemus answered, and said vnto him, Howe can these things be?
3:10Iesus answered, and saide vnto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
3:11Verely, verely I say vnto thee, wee speake that we know, and testifie that we haue seene: but yee receiue not our witnesse.
3:12If when I tel you earthly things, ye beleeue not, howe should yee beleeue, if I shall tel you of heauenly things?
3:13For no man ascendeth vp to heauen, but he that hath descended from heauen, that Sonne of man which is in heauen.
3:14And as Moses lift vp the serpent in the wildernesse, so must that Sonne of man be lift vp,
3:15That whosoeuer beleeueth in him, shoulde not perish, but haue eternall life.
3:16For God so loued the worlde, that hee hath giuen his onely begotten Sonne, that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life.
3:17For God sent not his Sonne into the world, that he should condemne the world, but that the world through him might be saued.
3:18Hee that beleeueth in him, is not condemned: but hee that beleeueth not, is condemned already, because he hath not beleeued in the Name of that onely begotten Sonne of God.
3:19And this is the condemnation, that that light came into the worlde, and men loued darknesse rather then that light, because their deedes were euill.
3:20For euery man that euill doeth, hateth the light, neither commeth to light, least his deedes should be reprooued.
3:21But he that doeth trueth, commeth to the light, that his deedes might bee made manifest, that they are wrought according to God.
3:22After these things, came Iesus and his disciples into the lande of Iudea, and there taried with them, and baptized.
3:23And Iohn also baptized in Enon besides Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into prison.
3:25Then there arose a question betweene Iohns disciples and the Iewes, about purifying.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Iorden, to whom thou barest witnesse, behold, he baptizeth, and all men come to him.
3:27Iohn answered, and saide, A man can receiue nothing, except it be giuen him from heauen.
3:28Yee your selues are my witnesses, that I sayde, I am not that Christ, but that I am sent before him.
3:29He that hath the bride, is the bridegrome: but the friend of the bridegrome which standeth and heareth him, reioyceth greatly, because of the bridegromes voyce. This my ioy therefore is fulfilled.
3:30He must increase, but I must decrease.
3:31Hee that is come from an hie, is aboue all: he that is of the earth, is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth: hee that is come from heauen, is aboue all.
3:32And what hee hath seene and heard, that he testifieth: but no man receiueth his testimonie.
3:33He that hath receiued his testimonie, hath sealed that God is true.
3:34For hee whome God hath sent, speaketh the woordes of God: for God giueth him not the Spirit by measure.
3:35The Father loueth the Sonne, and hath giuen all things into his hande.
3:36Hee that beleeueth in the Sonne, hath euerlasting life, and hee that obeyeth not the Sonne, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

3:1Ther was a man of the pharises named Nicodemus a ruler amonge ye Iewes.
3:2The same cam to Iesus by nyght and sayde vnto him: Rabbi we knowe that thou arte a teacher whiche arte come from God. For no man coulde do suche miracles as thou doest except God were with him.
3:3Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto the: except a man be boren a newe he cannot se the kyngdom of God.
3:4Nicodemus sayde vnto him: how can a man be boren when he is olde? can he enter into his moders wombe and be boren agayne?
3:5Iesus answered: verely verely I saye vnto the: except that a man be boren of water and of ye sprete he cannot enter into the kyngdome of god.
3:6That which is boren of the flesshe is flesshe: and that which is boren of the sprete is sprete.
3:7Marvayle not that I sayd to the ye must be boren a newe.
3:8The wynde bloweth where he listeth and thou hearest his sounde: but canst not tell whence he cometh and whether he goeth. So is every man that is boren of the sprete.
3:9And Nicodemus answered and sayde vnto him: how can these thinges be?
3:10Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: arte thou a master in Israel and knowest not these thinges?
3:11Verely verely I saye vnto the we speake that we knowe and testify that we have sene: and ye receave not oure witnes.
3:12Yf when I tell you erthely thinges ye beleve not: how shuld ye beleve yf I shall tell you of hevenly thinges?
3:13And no man ascendeth vp to heaven but he that came doune from heaven that is to saye the sonne of man which is in heaven.
3:14And as Moses lifte vp the serpent in the wyldernes even so must the sonne of man be lifte vp
3:15that none that beleveth in him perisshe: but have eternall lyfe.
3:16For God so loveth the worlde yt he hath geven his only sonne that none that beleve in him shuld perisshe: but shuld have everlastinge lyfe.
3:17For God sent not his sonne into the worlde to condepne the worlde: but that the worlde through him might be saved.
3:18He that beleveth on him shall not be condepned. But he that beleveth not is condempned all redy be cause he beleveth not in the name of the only sonne of God.
3:19And this is the condempnacion: that light is come into the worlde and the me loved darcknes more then light because their dedes were evill.
3:20For every man that evyll doeth hateth the light: nether commeth to light lest his dedes shuld be reproved.
3:21But he that doth truth commeth to the light that his dedes might be knowen how that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these thinges cam Iesus and his disciples into the Iewes londe and ther he haunted with them and baptised.
3:23And Iohn also baptised in Enon besydes Salim because ther was moche water there and they came and were baptised.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into preson.
3:25And ther arose a questio bitwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes about purifiynge.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn and sayde vnto him: Rabbi he that was with the beyonde Iordan to whom thou barest witnes. Beholde the same baptyseth and all me come to him.
3:27Iohn answered and sayde: a man can receave no thinge at all except it be geve him fro heaven.
3:28Ye youre selves are witnesses how that I sayde: I am not Christ but am sent before him.
3:29He that hath the bryde is the brydegrome. But the frende of the brydegrome which stondeth by and heareth him reioyseth greately of the brydgromes voyce. Tis my ioye is fulfilled.
3:30He must increace: and I muste decreace.
3:31He that commeth from an hye is above all: He that is of ye erth is of the erth and speaketh of the erth. He that cometh from heaven is above all
3:32and what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifieth: but no man receaveth his testimonye.
3:33How be it he that hath receaved hys testimonye hath set to his seale that God is true.
3:34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the wordes of God. For God geveth not the sprete by measure.
3:35The father loveth the sonne and hath geven all thinges into his honde.
3:36He that beleveth on the sonne hath everlastynge lyfe: and he that beleveth not the sonne shall not se lyfe but the wrathe of God abydeth on him.
