| 7:1 | Hauing therefore these promises (dearely beloued) let vs cleanse our selues from all filthines of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holinesse in the feare of God. |
| 7:2 | Receiue vs, we haue wronged no man, wee haue corrupted no man, wee haue defrauded no man. |
| 7:3 | I speake not this to condemne you: for I haue said before, that you are in our hearts to die and liue with you. |
| 7:4 | Great is my boldnesse of speach toward you, great is my glorying of you, I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding ioyfull in all our tribulation. |
| 7:5 | For when wee were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euery side; without were fightings, within were feares. |
| 7:6 | Neuerthelesse, God that comforteth those that are cast downe, comforted vs by the comming of Titus. |
| 7:7 | And not by his comming onely, but by the consolation wherewith hee was comforted in you, when he told vs your earnest desire, your mourning, your feruent minde toward me, so that I reioyced the more. |
| 7:8 | For though I made you sory with a letter, I doe not repent, though I did repent: For I perceiue that the same Epistle hath made you sory, thogh it were but for a season. |
| 7:9 | Now I reioyce, not that ye were made sorie, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorie after a godly maner, that ye might receiue damage by vs in nothing. |
| 7:10 | For godly sorrow worketh repentance to saluation not to be repented of, but the sorrow of the world worketh death. |
| 7:11 | For behold this selfe same thing that yee sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulnesse it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of your selues, yea, what indignation, yea what feare, yea what vehement desire, yea what zeale, yea what reuenge; In all things yee haue approued your selues to be cleare in this matter. |
| 7:12 | Wherefore though I wrote vnto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appeare vnto you. |
| 7:13 | Therefore we were comforted in your comfort, yea and exceedingly the more ioyed wee for the ioy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all. |
| 7:14 | For if I haue boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in trueth, euen so our boasting which I made before Titus, is found a trueth. |
| 7:15 | And his inward affection is more aboundant toward you, whilest he remembreth the obedience of you all, how with feare and trembling you receiued him. |
| 7:16 | I reioyce therefore that I haue confidence in you in all things. |

| 7:3 | I speake not this to codemne you, for I haue shewed you before, that ye are in oure hertes, to dye and to lyue wt you. |
| 7:4 | I am very bolde towarde you, I make moch boost of you, I am fylled with comforte, I am exceadynge ioyous in all oure tribulacion. |
| 7:5 | For whan we were come into Macedonia, oure flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euery syde: outwarde was fightinge, inwarde was feare. |
| 7:6 | Neuertheles God that comforteth the abiecte, comforted vs by the comynge of Titus. |
| 7:7 | Not onely by his commynge, but also by the cosolacion wherwith he was coforted of you, whan he tolde vs yor desyre, youre wepynge, yor feruet mynde for me, so yt I now reioyse ye more. |
| 7:8 | For where as I made you sory by the letter, it repenteth me not, though I dyd repete. For I se, that the same epistle made you sory (though it were but for a ceason). |
| 7:9 | But now I reioyce, not that ye were sory, but that ye were sory to repentaunce. For ye sorowed godly, so that in nothinge ye were hurte by vs. |
| 7:10 | For godly sorowe causeth repentaunce vnto saluacion, not to be repented of: but worldly sorowe causeth death. |
| 7:11 | Beholde, where as ye haue had godly sorowe, what diligence hath it wrought in you? Yee a sufficiet answere, displeasure, feare, desyre, a feruet mynde, punyshment. For in all poyntes ye haue shewed youre selues, that ye are cleare in that matter. |
| 7:12 | Wherfore though I wrote vnto you, yet is it not done for his cause that dyd hurte, nether for his cause that was hurte, but that youre diligence (which ye haue for vs in the sighte of God) mighte be manifest wt you. |
| 7:13 | Therfore are we comforted, because ye are comforted: but exceadingly the more ioyed we, for the ioye of Titus, because his sprete was refresshed of you all. |
| 7:14 | I am therfore not now ashamed, though I boasted my selfe vnto him of you: but like as all is true that I haue spoke vnto you, euen so is oure boastinge vnto Titus founde true also. |
| 7:15 | And his inwarde affeccion is more abundaunt towarde you, whan he remembreth the obedience of you all, how ye receaued him with feare and treblynge. |
| 7:16 | I reioyse, that I maye be bolde ouer you in all thinges. |
| 7:1 | Therfor, most dereworthe britheren, we that han these biheestis, clense we vs fro al filthe of the fleische and of the spirit, doynge holynesse in the drede of God. |
| 7:2 | Take ye vs; we han hirt no man, we han apeirid no man, we han bigilid no man. |
| 7:3 | Y seie not to youre condempnyng; for Y seide bifor, that ye ben in youre hertis, to die togidere and to lyue togidere. |
| 7:4 | Myche trist is to me anentis you, myche gloriyng is to me for you. Y am fillid with coumfort, Y am plenteuouse in ioie in al oure tribulacioun. |
| 7:5 | For whanne we weren comun to Macedonye, oure fleisch hadde no reste, but we suffriden al tribulacioun; with outforth fiytingis, and dredis with ynne. |
| 7:6 | But God that coumfortith meke men, coumfortide vs in the comyng of Tite. |
| 7:7 | And not oneli in the comyng of him, but also in the coumfort bi which he was coumfortid in you, tellinge to vs youre desire, youre weping, youre loue for me, so that Y ioiede more. |
| 7:8 | For thouy Y made you sorie in a pistle, it rewith me not; thouy it rewide, seynge that thouy thilke pistle made you sori at an our, now Y haue ioie; |
| 7:9 | not for ye weren maad soreuful, but for ye weren maad soreuful to penaunce. For whi ye ben maad sori aftir God, that in no thing ye suffre peirement of vs. |
| 7:10 | For the sorewe that is aftir God, worchith penaunce in to stidfast heelthe; but sorewe of the world worchith deth. |
| 7:11 | For lo! this same thing, that ye ben soreuful aftir God, hou myche bisynesse it worchith in you; but defendyng, but indignacioun, but drede, but desire, but loue, but veniaunce. In alle thingis ye han youun you silf to be vndefoulid in the cause. |
| 7:12 | Therfor thouy Y wroot to you, Y wroot not for hym that dide the iniurie, nether for hym that suffride, but to schewe oure bisinesse, which we han for you bifor God. |
| 7:13 | Therfor we ben coumfortid, but in youre coumfort more plenteuousli we ioyeden more on the ioie of Tite, for his spirit is fulfillid of alle you. |
| 7:14 | And if Y gloriede ony thing anentis hym of you, Y am not confoundid; but as we han spoke to you alle thingis, so also oure glorie that was at Tite, is maad treuthe. |
| 7:15 | And the inwardnesse of hym be more plenteuousli in you, which hath in mynde the obedience of you alle, hou with drede and trembling ye resseyueden hym. |
| 7:16 | Y haue ioye, that in alle thingis Y triste in you. |
